This place is definitely five star. The food in service by far beats Mr. A's, Island prime or frankly any other high-priced restaurant I've been to in San Diego. On June 24 my friends and I are going to a winetasting at the restaurant. Four wineries will be presenting their wines for tasting from Valle de Guadalupe. Can't wait! Went there last Saturday night with my wife and a very good Mexican friend of ours. This review is mine with no input from my wife or our Mexican friend. To put it blankly, I did not enjoy my Chicken dinner at all, on the plate was about 3 pieces of the internal parts of a chicken, some green leafy plant leaves of some sort, I do not know the name of that supposed vegetable and approximately 3 tons of mashed potato, of which about half were consumed. That was it, nothing else. It was supposed to be braised chicken, but I don't know where the braising was. Stayed at a nearby Airbnb in the area reserved this restaurant for a bachelor party of seven people. The waiter was able to recommend dishes for our table and a few whiskey drinks for the table. We emailed from the restaurant's website to make our reservation and were seated by our reservation time. The food and ambiance was pure delight. Date night, family night, celebration evening potential! The menu was available in English. Fresh fish, seafood, and veggie friendly options. The drinks were fantastic. Wee were too full for dessert after a hummus appetizer, green ceviche (tuna, cucumber, avocado), poblano appetizer (we ordered this on accident and none of us know what it was), sous vide chicken with lemon preserve sauce, fresh fish (catch of the day) with lemon preserve sauce. The fresh fish was swordfish, but this was Feb 2020. We also had 2 jalapeño margaritas, 1 mezcal margarita, and one classic (I think they called it old-fashioned) margarita. They were all delicious!! Not too sweet, and not tooo strong. Solid. A musician and co. Was setting up while we ordered and ate. They started playing around 6:15 pm on a Saturday night which was right after sundown. The dining room had a sunset view and a small patio. Lots of chandeliers. There was also a seasonal rooftop but we weren't able to visit it. All of the staff we met were fantastic. read more

I came to Mi Casa Supper Club for dinner on a trip to Baja. Joining me was my friend who came on the trip with me, plus some residents of Baja -- new friends -- who are frequent diners at this restaurant. The decor is gorgeous -- stunning in fact -- giving off this mystical and very storybook-like feel. It was super hot and humid on the day of our visit, and owner Chef Bo Bendana made sure we got a fan to cool us down some. She was also very mindful of the fact that I can't eat oysters and brought me some ceviche while the others were enjoying oysters. The food was creative and interesting. It reminded me of Anepalco's in Orange where the food is French Mexican, but here, it is Moroccan Mexican. Turns out, Chef Bo is Moroccan and she uses her heritage and infuses it with Mexican ingredients in creating the menu. My favorite items are the ones served in tagine -- the Cornish Game Hens in preserved lemons as well as the Lamb Tagine in a prune mole sauce -- absolutely stunning. Chef Bo Bendana and her husband are not only the most hospitable people around, but they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and to make sure you are having a great time at their "casa". I hear the menu is changing soon -- I'll definitely be back on my next trip down south! read more

So I simply adore this restaurant and the family who owns it. Last night we attended a lovely wine tasting event were 4 local wineries were showcased. I was most excited to taste Santo Tomas, who has been around for 130 years! After enjoying the wine tasting and accompaniments, we went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner and yes it was delicious. Let's see, I had the yellowtail with veggies and couscous, hubby had chicken and my in-laws had steak. We walked away from our table very happy. read more

The menu was more limited since our last visit so I wound up ordering what my fiancé got the previous time (chicken in almond sauce). The dish was completely different and heavily salted. The texture of the chicken was sticky too. My teeth would make that stick together and smack apart feeling every time I chewed a piece. The service was so slow too. I ordered several items and without asking they were perfectly coursed out. I have eaten at the best of the best in Baja and this was definitely one of the best meals I've eaten. Relative to the US prices are VERY Reasonable. I will say that wine markup seemed a bit higher than I've come to expect down here but the overall value and experience were absolutely exceptional! Atmosphere- incredible. Classy, simple, elegant yet relaxed with ocean views. Food- Tuna Ceviche (pictured) was amazing! Bread- didn't take a photo but the bread cannot be left out. Soooo good Spanish Omelette- really great...although the sauce on top is delicious ...it was a little too much. The lamb chorizo inside was really really good! Yellowtail - fresh catch and they did this dish special for my mom who was sick at the time and on a strict diet. Drinks- espresso- PERFECT Mimosa- good...wish I could taste fresh squeezed orange a little more but the champagne was great. Margarita- good. Came to this place at the end of a day trip to Rosarito/TJ . I will start with the Good stuff. For my meal, I had the Moroccan Lamb. It was really good and had great flavor. The sangria was also very tasty and refreshing. We sat upstairs in the lounge which was nice. It had a bar up there and ocean views. Downstairs, was really nice too. I poked my heard down and really liked the décor. Meh The churro. It was only ok. It did not feel fresh or really like a churro to me. Now for the bad. The wait time. It took FOREVER to get any of the food we ordered. Granted we had a large group, but different sections of the table got food at different times, but all seemed to be waiting a really long time for everything. And not just the usual "why is my food ready in 20 minutes" expectations. We timed it. It took over an hour between or appetizers and main dishes. We ordered them both at the same time. I do not know if I would be rushing back here, but if you do find yourself here. Get a sangria and the lamb, and enjoy the view. read more

I had an awesome time at Mi Casa in August 2016! The food, ambiance and customer service is stellar. I came here with a group of more than 40 and everyone left pleased and impressed. Mi Casa is located right on the shore slightly north of Rosarito. One of the first things you will notice when arriving is the rooftop bar and the cozy couches out front. While our tables were being prepared my group spent around an hour at the rooftop bar while the sunset. I sipped coffee and enjoyed the amazing view while others sampled regional wine. The look of the main dining room is very elegant and refined. On this evening we had the option of a 7 course dinner or going a la carte. I ordered the sirloin with potatoes and it was delicious. Before that I tried some scallops that a table mate offered and they were great. I also sampled some of the Red Velvet dessert and it was sinfully delicious. Prices were on point for a restaurant of this caliber. Mi Casa Supper Club is such a great place for a romantic night out or for large groups. I'm already looking forward to my return! read more

My favorite place in all of Mexico, but even better located outside Tijuana. Decor, view, and ambiance was pleasing to the eyes, and to top it off food was exquisite. Made reservations for 12 people, we wanted to wait for the whole party to arrive before being seated at our table. They have a waiting sofa which was enjoyable as it has somewhat of a living room feel to it and ordered 2 rounds of mimosas. After the whole group arrived we were all seated, and orders were taken. Everything went smoothly, and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was surprisingly somewhat inexpensive and worth the view and food. read more

If your idea of a great meal starts with a shrimp cocktail, involves ranch dressing or anything cooked medium or more - you're going to be fine here. They have chandeliers that will impress you, art that will beguile you and you will leave happy. However - if you know good food - just go and smile so your less picky friends enjoy the "fine" food and "fancy" surroundings. It's not going to be an awful meal. But it's not really good. It's ok. Gourmet for the chain restaurant crowd. But it's not real gourmet or "foodie" food. I would have given it 3 stars if it wasn't so pretentious - pretending to be what it wasn't. This is honestly the first time an average yelp score has led me astray... normally a 4.5 Star place is stellar. I should have listened to the reviewer who said it was "gourmet for the chain restaurant crowd." I would have forgiven the cheesy chandeliers and overly formal waiters with earpieces and maybe even the smooth jazz playlist with a saxophone cover of "My Heart Will Go On" (probably not though), if the food had just been as good as all the other food I've ever had in Baja. (One of the main reasons to go to Baja is the ubiquity of delicious seafood.) The tortilla soup app was pretty good but the short rib was sub par (full of gristle / fat) and the fish was over cooked. We also had to flag down waiters even though there was more waitstaff in the restaurant than customers. This was both our least delicious AND our most expensive meal of the weekend. They get 2 stars cause they were clearly kind of trying... and I'm feeling generous. If you traveled to Baja for the value / food, skip this spot. read more

This is my second time coming here with my best friend, this time we brought my sister and all of us loved it, the service is great, the view is amazing and their salsa verde oysters are the best. The drinks are great although I'm more of a beer person I've tried a couple of their cocktail drinks and I wasn't disappointed, I'll definitely be back once I'm in the area again. read more
