Overall it was a wonderful dining experience. A few things that could be improved are (1) the planning. A large table for 20 was set up, so after guests arrived an additional table had to be added to accommodate 22 people. (2) I had to pre-plan the menu as they limited us to only 4 entree choices, and I expected all food options discussed w/ the Events manager to be on it, including kids menu, appetizers & small plates, deserts. Only the 4 appetizers I pre-ordered and the 4 entrees we were limited to were on it. (3) Large parties can have only one check, and are limited to up to 3 payments. This makes paying the bill a painful final task. Many restaurants have changed to handheld credit card processors that make separate checks a normality these days. TLDR One of the strangest places in the best way. Delicious modern takes on pan- Mediterranean cuisine served in a beautiful, spacious yet intimate, dining area. But it's in th middle of a residential/industrial area off the Kearny Mesa area. Don't let the location fool you, this is some must have eats, especially the chicken wings Boujie mana looks the part. A modern spacious design with few tables serves modern takes on Mediterranean cuisine. Service is attentive and well versed in the menu. The prices are a premium scale, portions very from small to large (pretty variable depending on the dish). Ambience 7/10. Service 8/10. Price 6/10 Iced tea service Pretty good quality loose leaf tea served in classy glassy's. Tea is served with honey, single package sweeteners, and lemon. You probably get 3-5 glasses out of the pitcher. We ordered ginger peach and spicy ginger and a light floral white peach can both be tasted. $15 is steep though. $10 would get me more excited. 6/10 Deviled eggs Smoked eggs, crispy prosciutto, salsa verde, and pickled jalapeño. This is one step away from being a great dish to me but the idea is very enticing. The salsa verde is european style, more like a chimichuri of aromatics chopped and tossed in oil and citrus. The crispy prosciutto is accented by smoke, bringing notes of bacon. But the dish lacks a punch of brightness to me, the pickled jalapeño isn't quite enough to cut through. I may be critical but this is $10 for 2 eggs ultimately (4 halves). 6/10 Taboulleh This one is classically prepared and unapologetic. Distinct mint, parsley, acid, olive oil, and salt. Delicious. 7/10 Fries Fluffy with a nice snap, but wouldn't say crispy. That's the way I like them. The harissa sauce is a spiced mayo and is a great vehicle. Truffle oil is probably a bad idea, got in the way of the harissa. Pretty good but also very standard 6/10 Falafel Ok this one I need to put a caveat. We were charged $15 but I'm pretty sure we were given the sandwich item not the appetizer. It came in a pita and had fries. It is delicious and a generous portion but normally the sandwich portion is $20 it seems. The falafel are perfectly made: no grease makes into the interior, chic pea is clear, herbaceous, and full of spice. Pickles served on top are bright and sweet. A delicious sandwich. 8/10 Crispy chicken wings Absolutely delicious! To the best of my tasting, there's at least zaatar and harissa that cost the wings wonderfully. These bad boys are crispy and juicy too. They sit on top of a thick and creamy labneh that is tart and balanced as a perfect complement to the heavier wings. I'd come back for these 9.5/10 Roasted octopus. Nicely composed dish with a creamy sauce base (I think sesame based) pistachio rich salsa verde, and charred octopus. It's cooked well, with some bits charred to crisp and others left nice and succulent. But nothing burnt and nothing chewy. Very well made but just a touch salty. 8/10 Boujie prosciutto salad Tasty salad that reminds me of Caesar salad. Nice two shot of savory flavors between salty prosciutto and briny anchovies. Citrus is a nice counterpoint to these heavier flavors. 7/10 Definitely a good place for a nice lunch and I'd be curious to try what they have for dinner, especially spying their dry aging set up. Unassuming yet modern and stylish spot, tucked away within industrial business larks and a giant apartment complex. Our service Hannah was very friendly and helpful with drink recommendations. The cocktails sounded nice but I opted for wine. I wish they had more of a selection available for glasses of wine, but the wines I tried were good. The food was phenomenal. Hummus and pita - the pura was fresh and airy, hummus had a chili oil on it which was a fun twist. Citrus salad was one of my favorites - the grapefruit was sweet and a lovely refreshing balance with the greens and garnish. Stuffed sole was tasty as well, fish had nice flavor and the stuffing was not too overpowering. The pesto and potato pizza was a standout - wasn't entirely sure what it was when we ordered it, but the crust was crispy, bottom nicely charred, and the pesto was so fresh and delicious. Came here for valentine's day and very glad we did! The server Ashlyn was very nice and knew her dishes, because she too loves eating at this restaurant which is always a good sign. We first started with the smoked salmon & pita, which has solid quality dough for the pita. We next devoured the lemon ricotta pancakes which had oranges on top which added a nice tangy flavor to accent the sweetness behind the pancake base. The harissa benedict I had bigger hopes for. It was definitely yummy and something I would get again but I think I expected more harissa then I thought. I also was expecting the benedict to be with an english muffin instead of a slice of bread. However, I experienced the best crispy small baked/fried potatoes I've ever had in my life! I would literally come back here just for those potatoes. This place is a "hidden" spot. They have an amazing duck. I mean amazing. It's peking style and it might possibly be the best peking duck I've ever had. Just look at my pics. When you order it, either the head chef or the owner comes out with it to talk about it (again, look at my pic!). WARNING, this duck takes 1hr to cook and prepare! After I ordered it, about 45m later the head chef came out to talk about it. Then he said he was going back to the kitchen to let it rest another 10-15m before serving it to me. Absolutely the correct answer. I actually shared some with a couple that was next to me (I was at the bar) and the husband said he really loved duck, which was why I shared some with him. He loved it so much, he asked me for a 2nd piece! Haha! After about halfway through the duck, the bartender comes up to me and asks if I want some pita bread with it. I was intrigued and said yes. He then came out with some pita bread that had just been baked (it was still warm and puffy!) and they duck even got better! The bartender told me that the peking duck is really rich and after so many bites it's a good idea to balance it with something else like that pita bread. So correct. I honestly was so amazed at the attention to detail this place exhibits. I also had their smoked deviled eggs which were awesome. Never had smoked deviled eggs and it's really on a whole other level. Even without the smoking those eggs would have been awesome. Ever since I went, I've tried twice already to bring my family down but when I call to make reservations and I ask for the duck, it's always sold out! We had a little celebration dinner here and were in the private room. Service was tentative and great. We order a variety of appetizers for the table and everything was really good. The food was also delicious, our favorites were the Smoked Deviled Eggs and Pepperoni Pizza with the perfect balance of crunch and softness for the crust. What a great find right off the busy area of Convoy! You would never guess such a vibey restaurant with amazing food would be tucked away behind the new apartments off Aero, but it's truly a hidden gem. We went for New Year's Eve and I'm so happy we started 2026 right! Also, shoutout to our server, Reagan, she was friendly, helpful, and really made our experience top notch. We enjoyed the roasted octopus to start, it was cooked to absolute perfection, and the unique twist with toasted pistachios was an instant fave. Moving on to dinner we enjoyed the crispy chicken wings (you must try if you like wings!), fries with harissa aioli (perfect side to go with the wings), and the dry aged ribeye that came with two ricotta dumplings! The ribeye was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and the dumplings really added a fun and delicious touch. The wings were crispy and had a light kick with the labneh ranch lining the plate to cool it off. We finished off with the hazelnut affogato and wow. You have to make sure you save room for dessert because this is by far the best affogato I've ever had. To preface this review, the service at Boujimana has always been outstanding and this review is strictly about food. After a 4-month hiatus, we decided to come back and try some new offerings on the happy hour menu. We ordered the marinated shrimp, the margarita pizza, and lamb areyes. 1. Margharita pizza: Probably the most disappointing selection. Boujimana used to cook their pizzas with a fluffy rising dough and a slight char which gave it an authentic flavor. The pizza we were served tonight had a few pieces of shriveled basil and was sparing on the cheese. The pizza honestly tasted like it was from a box and was thick and soggy on the top layers. Absolutely terrible. 2. The grilled and marinated shrimp were good, however the herbs were completely overwhelming and detracted from the sweet flavor the grilled shrimp could have delivered. Also incredibly salty with poor presentation, as a overly-large bed of greenery was served on top of the dish. Too salty to eat and we left a few shrimp on the plate. 3. The lamb areyes was quite tasty, with a good balance of crunch from the pastry and the lamb was tender and flavorful. Would repeat. Also worth mentioning is every time we go in for happy hour, they are out of deviled eggs. This is bordering on the absurd, as the unavailability of the eggs is now similar in frequency to the McDonalds Ice cream machines always being out of order. We used to come in frequently but won't be back until the executive chef fixes the obvious lapses in quality on the happy hour menu. Also, why is there not a burger offered on happy hour? This is a happy hour staple on many menus and it's a shame this is not on offer as their burger is one of the best items on the menu. My hubby and I loved how clean and dark BoujieMana was. The chairs are sleek yet comfy, decor was tasteful, odd there was no music playing so you heard everything, and the service and food was great. The best dish of the night was the hummus with pita and pickled vegetables. The hummus was super smooth, pita was fresh and piping hot, and the pickled vegetables on the side were a nice palette cleanser. The roasted root vegetables were my second favorite followed by the dessert. I wouldn't recommend the kousa, which came highly suggested by the server. I wasn't a fan of the texture, thought it lacked seasoning, and didn't like that it wasn't hot since I was eating ground lamb. I'm glad we tried it but wouldn't get it again. The pizza was a last minute decision and I was too full to try even a bite but my husband liked it. Dessert was phenomenal and the crème anglaise was out of this world. By far the best modern dining experiences I've had in the US. This is the kind of place that raises the bar across the board, I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of the family for my birthday and honestly, if it were up to me, Mother's Day too. We went deep into the menu and they truly get everything right. The hummus was silky, rich, and perfectly seasoned, paired with incredible bread that came out warm with that ideal soft interior and light chew. The tabbouleh was one of the freshest versions we've had, herb-forward, bright, and incredibly clean, the kind of dish you keep going back to between bites of everything else. The Caesar was a big win, fresh gem lettuce with an anchovy-forward dressing that really delivers. The pizza bianco was a standout, perfectly blistered crust with that ideal chew, rich without being heavy with a hint of lemon on top that made it feel so unique. The saffron chicken was beautifully spiced and incredibly tender. The ribeye, which our daughter completely inhaled, was deeply flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tuna tartare was pristine, fresh, and balanced in a way that really let the quality shine. Dessert sealed it. I'm not usually a donut person, but the donut holes were genuinely heavenly, warm, light, and addictive without being overly sweet, with that delicious custard that takes it over the top. We paired it with the chocolate boudino which was rich, silky, and the perfect finish to the meal. Met their amazing chef who previously worked at Michael Mina. A big shout out to Edgar Fernandez, the general manager, who checked in and made sure everything felt seamless. Esteban introduced us to some incredible cocktails, thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely exciting. Tj was amazing, warm, attentive, and added to the overall energy of the night. And a special thank you to Garrett, who walked us through the brunch menu for our next visit, made thoughtful recommendations, answered all of my questions with patience, and packed everything up beautifully. And then there's the hospitality. They treated Buddy like part of the family, bringing out treats for him and even sending us home with a gift for him. That level of care is rare. We had a delicious lunch here, what a treat! Nice open space with modern, tasteful decor, and the most delightful hand towels to clean your hands before the meal. Service was stellar, and everything we ordered was tasty. This was my second visit here, and between the two visits I've found it consistently delicious with great service. Been here maybe 6 or 7 times with my wife. Brought friends and family 3 of those times and they all loved it. The food always comes out at a reasonable or short time and it's been so consistently great. Service is great, they don't hover yet they're always there when you need something. My favorite is the fried chicken sandwich for brunch but the duck gotta be my favorite. They even added couches to separate the bar area tables from dining. Stopped by BoujieMana for Tuesday happy hour and it did not disappoint. Plenty of parking, quick seating. We tried the lamb areyes, octopus, and crispy jidori wings. Everything was on point. The octopus was cooked perfectly. There was a small mix-up though because I asked if the lamb was lollipops and the server said yes, but it turned out to be more like a quesadilla. Still super tasty, just not what I expected & I did not want the extra carbs.I had the Dealer's Choice whiskey cocktail and it was really well balanced and easy to sip. Great happy hour overall with a relaxed after-work crowd. There's also a patio and a private event room if you're planning something. Kind of hidden behind some apartments but worth finding. Here is somewhere you might drive right by and never see! Tucked away in the back of a residential area this very modern eatery is serving some very delicious food! Really modern decor, clean, indoor and outdoor patio seating, and excellent service! Ordered smoked eggs for the table - an absolute must! I have never had a hard boiled egg taste so good. Smokey, crunchy, topped with a pickled jalapeño. Nothing you have ever experienced, and very delicious! Next, we ordered octopus. Literally so tender, not chewy with wonderful Mediterranean hummus with nuts and some spice! A slam dunk. Lunch, ordered the Cesar salad - very refreshing. I recommend to add a protein like shrimp (I did not do this, and regretted it). Others at the table ordered the salmon and pita plate and were very pleased! Overall, worth a stop! This place is off the beaten path and is located behind a few apartments near a small park on aero drive. We've been here a few different times and have tried their happy hour and dinner menu. As of this writing, their happy hour M-Th 2-5pm only. There is plenty of parking and plenty of indoor seating with a small private room that you can reserve. The decor is very modern and boujie and the bathroom is next level fancy with heated toilets. The staff is very friendly and professional. Our servers have always been polite, meticulous, and helpful. Food usually comes out in a reasonable amount of time, but can take longer if they're busy. From the happy hour menu, the deviled eggs, chicken wings, fries, and pepperoni pizza are excellent! Every item was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They are known for their pita and their pizza because they also use the same dough to make their pizza. The dough is crispy, light, and airy with a nice chewy texture. The cheeseburger was just ok. The middle of my burger was medium but the outside was burnt and little bitter. Would not recommend this item. The octopus is amazing! Crispy tentacles and firm meaty texture. It was the best octopus I've ever had!! Overall this place is a gem of a restaurant. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth the cost. read more

Unexpected upscale restaurant in the most unlikely of places! Beautifully decorated, high ceilings, dark wood, gorgeous chandaliers...definitely fitting to have the name BoujieMana. So the co-habby discovered this gem with his co-workers and had gone there for lunch. He liked it so much, he brought me back there for happy hour and it did not disappoint. The warm hand towels were a nice touch and added to the luxe experience of dining there. Note: upon entering they will ask you if you have reservations even if at the moment, it doesn't look full inside the restaurant. Standard practice and not a big deal but a couple did seem a bit perturbed that came in after us when they were asked the same thing. But I digress. The burger was juicy and delish. It came with a side of fries and a dipping sauce. We also tried the chicken wings which I actually enjoyed more than the burger if I'm being honest...I would come back just for those wings.
