I wouldn't call it a restaurant. It's more like a food joint in the Ferry Building area. I tried their green enchilladas and boy it was good. I almost never choose Mexican food, but well let's just say someone influenced me to try this place. In summary I loved the food. It was really delicious - served with black beans and rice on the side. I don't know how is their other stuff but what I got was amazing. Mi Comedor at the Ferry Building was hands down the first Mexican spot outside of the Mission that truly impressed me. I did not go to the Folsom street location, this was a brief lunch time trip to the Ferry Building plaza. I honestly couldn't believe how flavorful and saucy the burrito I ordered was. It's been six years since I first tried this. I've returned on random Tuesdays to get a late breakfast or to bring lunch back to the office. It came with a small salad. Think French Dip with more spices and a little heat. After conservatively dipping into the broth, I drank every last drop as a soup to end my meal. I would order this again. I finished the rest of it as part of my dinner the following night. I first found out about Mi Comedor through the app TooGoodToGo most meals are very affordable at $ 4.99 through the app. Since I work close by to the Ferry Building I thought I should give it a try. I have ordered several meals and have been nothing but pleased. I have had three meals so far and everything has been delicious, well prepared, and sufficient portion sizes. My first meal was a tamale with a spicy red sauce, a chicken quesadilla, green pozole, and a agua Fresca. I was impressed with the flavors, taste, and portion sizes. Mi Comedor is at the Ferry Building during the farmer's market that is held there. The staff is friendly and efficient as well. There are no tables it is grab and go situation but I am fine with that since I eat my meals at work. I definitely plan on eating there again as the food is delicious not heavy or greasy. Ripped off. While attending a Mother's Day event at Curious Flora in Richmond CA, I ordered one quesadilla and one agua fresca for around $17 from Mi Comedor who was there as a food vendor. Their Tap-to-Pay device would not accept my Google Wallet payment which I had just used at a different vendor there moments before. The attendant then whipped out her personal cellphone and took my payment with my cellphone. I probably should have been suspicious then but why? it seemed a wholesome venue and I only ordered $17 worth of food. It was only the following day I noticed I had been charged $44.95 for my purchase. My CC company would not rescind the charges for the difference b/c I had no physical receipt, which I was not offered. Came here on a weekday after an appointment. Got the carne asada burrito. Burrito definitely seemed small when I got it but when I opened the foil wrap, the burrito was stuffed with ingredients (no empty space between anything!). Definitely satisfied with the portion and looking forward to trying some of their other items. read more

While visiting the Ferry Plaza farmers market, I had heard the chilaquiles here were great and this was the only place selling them. These are some of the best chilaquiles I've ever had, they are simple, just tortilla chips, salsa, egg (however you'd like), crema, and raw chopped red onion. The flavor is perfect, everything is perfectly seasoned and the crema is pleasant as the salsa is spicy. Be careful bc the heat will sneak up on you, I'm serious it's pretty spicy for most. I think they add habanero to their red salsa. Regardless, very tasty and a must try if you love Mexican food! read more

Their Mexican food doesn't feel heavy or greasy, and instead is fresh and light! Their stand is part of the Ferry Building Farmers Market. A new entrant to the Ferry Building Farmers' Market. It's really cool how they press and griddle the masa to order for your tortillas. Overall, it feels a tad more authentic than Tacolicious, but still around the same San Francisco farmers' market price point. On the bright side, since you'll need about four items to fill you up, you can taste a lot of the menu. Vegetarian Quesadilla: The tortilla for this was larger than the tacos, but not nearly as big as a chain restaurant quesadilla. I really like squash blossom paired against the melted cheese and the non-melted cheese (added right before serving). It was cheese intensity, but not overwhleming. So yummy. Taco Carne Asada: One of my biggest issues with most carne asada is that the meat is not seared enough. That looked the case here at first glance, but there actually was proper cooking underneath all the sauce. Taco Cochinita Pibil: Here the sauce is the true star and the shredded pork is a supporting character. The pickled red onions were the perfect way to contrast the richness of all that pork. Taco Tinga: Once again, sauce is king. Usually chicken breast is pretty boring, but not when cooked until it is soft and shredded and a perfect conduit for all the flavorings. Omg. This place. I stumbled across the booth at the Mission Farmers Market. I saw people in line to order, then I looked and saw an even larger crowd waiting for food. I thought, "offering taco's in the mission? Isn't that a little like bringing sand to the beach?" I rolled the dice with 2 different taco's and was BLOWN AWAY with the execution. My sister and I tried this at the Tuesday Ferry Building Farmer's Market. It was nearing closing time, so there wasn't much of a line. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and my sister ordered a carne asada burrito. I also ordered a tamarind agua fresca-- I don't normally buy tamarind anything but I was thirsty, wanted agua fresca, and it was their only option. The quesadilla was good-- a little on the small side since I'm used to ordering giant quesadillas at the taquerias in the Mission. It also felt healthier (less greasy) than the quesadillas I'm used to, which I guess is a good thing... I fell in love with the tamarind agua fresca though and am now a tamarind convert. My initial sips were strange as it is not a flavor I'm used to in a beverage due to the tamarind and the spices, but as the ice melted and diluted it down a bit, I grew to like it more and more. I think the prices were super reasonable considering the location, though still on the pricier side. Worth it though for the excellent ingredients. read more
