Just had an early dinner here with my 2 daughters . Was our first time here and didn't really know what to expect. I know the yelp ratings are great but I've come to understand you can't go by that , especially in the Montgomeryville area . Chain places are what is available out here . Till now . This place has a very unassuming look. It's located in a strip mall and only has like 6-8 tables and they seem to cater to a mostly take out crowd . I honestly didn't have high hopes but was willing to give it a try. I asked the waitress if the carnitas were good and she was very vocal that I should try it. She was 100% correct. Best carnitas I've had outside of the west coast . All the Salsas are fresh and home made as are all the tortillas. The tamales might be in the top 5 all time for me . My girls loved their fajitas and queso enchiladas. This is a must try place if you are in the area and craving good AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Don't be fooled by the appearance. Out waitress was very sweet and made sure we were well taken care of . Just relocated to the Hatfield area and looking for a late night dinner. Found this restaurant on Yelp and tried it out. We were not disappointed. I had the Chile Relleno special and was very impressed. Their sauce was exceptional. Plus the dinner came with two peppers. My wife enjoyed the Chicken quesdilla which was exceptional. My husband and I really wanted to like this place after moving to the area from Philadelphia. Sadly, the food is very unreliable. Twice now I've found beef or chicken in my shrimp fajitas when I don't eat meat, only seafood. Last time they forgot to include the tortillas with my fajitas and this time I got two regular-sized tortillas and one comically small one. The guacamole we ordered was much smaller than it's normally been, too. The food is delicious, especially the hongos quesadilla, but there have been so many problems with our orders and surprise meat in my food that we're going to look for some place new. read more

I am always on the look out for delicious and authentic Mexican food in the MontCo area and I am so glad that I came across San Antonio Mexican Cuisine! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. We ordered 3 tacos (al pastor, carnitas & lengua), an al pastor burrito and a big ol' glass of watermelon water. The meats were all very flavorful but the al pastor here was out of this world, especially topped off with the variety of hot sauces available right at the table. Our waiter/server was super attentive and kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything else. I'm very excited for many return visits - they have lunch specials Mon-Fri and also a sweet variety of desserts that I'm looking forward to trying next time. This restaurant is situated in a strip mall right next to not just one but two equally awesome eateries: Sahara (Mediterranean) and Sai Gon 2 (Vietnamese)! Just moved back to area after twenty-plus years and was really worried I'd have Mexican withdrawal as you can hardly throw a rock without hitting great Mexican food on the Southern California/Baja border where I lived. Really glad to find this place! First visit I ordered the Carne Tampiqueña & Enchilada platter and was so happy I almost cried! Tender and flavorful served with black beans, fresh guac and nice big slices of roasted poblano chiles. (A feast for $13) I noticed a special on the board and since I'd never had a fried homemade tamale before I tried one with mole sauce (Chile and chocolate). I guess the masa is dense enough that it doesnt absorb too much of the oil and just gives the surface a golden crispiness while the interior stays fluffy and light. Clever and delicious. Went back again a couple weeks later and enjoyed a Chile Relleno platter while my friend had the tastiest looking El Pastor Torta O Cemita I've ever seen. (sort of like a round Mexican panini) It was positively enormous! I also found out that they make Posole on the weekends. Super friendly, attentive and accommodating staff as well. One of the waitresses was telling me how her mother, the cook, was making a piñata for a friend's birthday. I felt like I was eating in someones cocina. I will be back soon. A friend and I decided to try the food, I got beef tacos and my friend got the tongue taco along with another dish. It's pretty much hit or miss. Two of three dishes were horribly seasoned, no flavor what so ever. Took two bites from my taco dish and into the trash it went. Though the tongue taco he said was decent, compared to the quesadilla he had ordered as well (no flavor). I guess I expected more from this place. Also tried the vanilla cake/cobbler... Interesting flavor and texture, don't think I would get it again. The staff is very polite and the inside of the restaurant is beautifully set up. Found this place on a whim after leaving Wal-Mart. I'm glad I stopped. I ordered Al Pastor tacos which were fantastic. Full order comes with three which is plenty. The green salsa was spicy but the red salsa had some serious heat. I also had a chicken tamale with green sauce which was excellent. Not dry like some other tamales I've had. So far this place pleasantly surprised me.... I met my mom for dinner here. I got the Mexican steak platter. Very nice pepper flavoring and nice kick to it. Rice and beans were also very good, and I loved their tortilla chips. My mom said her chicken tacos were very good, the lettuce and tomatoes were very fresh. I will definitely be going back to this place for many dinners to come. Just wanted to add more of my experiences here. Since my first review i have come here 2-3 more times and have yet to be disappointed. To me, one of the real tests of a Mexican restaurant is how well their enchiladas are as I have never had good enchiladas at a restaurant before.... the taste of all the other restaurants gets old quickly. However, this passed the test for me. Their red sauce had a nice spice and enjoyed it from beginning to the end. i have also gotten the chimichonga and tostados. I had to add a little pepper sauce to the tostados but it was still good. The chimichonga is gigantic. No complaints with the flavoring. This place is really good. I was in the area and decided I would rather try this food than Taco Bell. I was sure glad I did.. I thought it would be regular Mexican food, but I was proven wrong. Stopped in because we were looking for authentic Mexican food and saw the reviews so we thought we would try. I would have to say that the food is very good. The enchiladas I had were tasty, warm and for only getting 2 were more filling then I expected. The wife ordered the beef fajitas and oh boy, what a surprise. They came out sizzling. The beef was tender as were the peppers and onions. It was seasoned well. We will definitely be back. We have found a wonderful replacement for our old favorite in Chalfont. Won't name any names. One of my absolute FAVORITE Mexican restaurants! I stumbled on this place taking a trip to a fish store I go to in this area and I am SOOO glad I did. It's small but the food is amazing! My favorite thing is the torta Cubana. For $10.99 this sandwich is huge! And the flavors are amazing. If you like meat, the sandwich is for. I also like the chips and beans they bring out for you as opposed to the usual salsa most places give. I wish I lived closer, but i make sure to eat her every time I'm in the area. read more
