Bookmarked this place a while back. Didn't realize until today how close it was to my job so I took a ride over. I was greeted and sat right away. They were VERY busy (good sign). I ordered a mango juice (absolutely refreshing and delicious) and the bandeja mi país which is a typical Colombian dish consisting on rice, beans, steak, a fried egg, maduros (sweet plantains), avocado, chorizo (spicy sausage) and chicharrón (fried pork belly aka Colombian bacon). Menu is very simple and not overwhelming like some places. Lots of options if you're vegetarian. Mi País is located in a stop mall so there's plenty of parking. Prices are very reasonable. I grew up eating all kinds of Latin food...El Salvadoran, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Colombian, etc. This was on par with the food I grew up eating. Full of sabor (flavor), made with love and served with a smile. I grabbed some empanadas to go do I will update my review once I taste them. This place is a hidden gem. So glad I found it. I didn't take any pictures bc I was too busy eating but Mi Pais in Malvern was amazing. We tried their empanadas, tamales, cazuelita. Everything was so good. It's a casual place, the people who work there are so friendly and open to any questions. Definitely will be back! read more

One of the authentic Latin food joint and is very conveniently located. We visited during pandemic when it had outdoor facility setup and they maintained proper hygiene and sanitizing standard. My trip to Miami Florida was the last time that I had an empanada that was drool worthy. Until Mi Pais. I can't decide whether the food or the service impressed me more. The owner/server was such a lovely man. His knowledge, and patience with my American ignorance to the cuisine was much appreciated. I dined in during a slow time, so he was extra attentive. Lucky for me, I learned a lot! I tried two kinds of empanadas, sweet plantains, a chicken arepa and some of and a dessert that he described to me but I was too busy focusing on devouring what was in front of me to remember what it was. Whatever, just show your server my pic (below) and order it. When I stood to leave I felt physically ill but in the best way possible! Did I over order? Of course. Did I feel like a whale? Yes, but a small whale at least. But over-ordering is the standard when trying a new spot! Needless to say, I will be back, to explore more of the elaborate menu and for good conversation. A true "Mom-n-Pop" shop. From waiting staff to baker, everyone is family. The owner's wife is the chef and the owner is either talking to customers or at the front register. They would greet you by your name after coming here more than twice, because by then you've probably exchanged family stories. Food wise, it's as authentic as Colombian can get. I've tried 90% of the menu and haven't found anything I don't like. Here are a few worth mentioning: Empanadas - 5 stars. Always get the Empanada. They're quite different from Mexican empanadas. The Argentine style and Hawaiian are much bigger and might be a bit too greasy for some. I love it though. The regular Colombian one are just delicious. It's also my favorite appetizer to try all the sauces with. There are 3 types of sauce, the mild is cilantro based, the medium one is jalapeño based, which I love; the orange one is habenero, which I wish I could handle more, but a dab is enough for me. Bandeja Mi Pais -- 5 stars. I almost order it every time to share. I forgot to mention You must have Colombian Bacon here. Bandeja Mi Pais is a platter of Colombian Bacon, grilled steak and chorizo with rice, beans, an over and hard egg, and a side of plantain. I love both green and sweet plantains but somehow their sweet plantain is very unique. I'm addicted to them. Be warned, Colombian Bacon is much smokier and thicker than regular Bacon. It's closer to smoked pork belly than bacon. Cazuelita Mi Pais - 5 stars. Almost the same ingredients as Bandeja Mi Pais. On the days we don't get soup, we get this casserole dish that contains Colombian Bacon, grilled steak, chorizo, along with rice and beans. Perfectly sharable with some Empanadas. The meats are cut up into bite size so that everything blends in nicely. Fried Red Snapper or Tilapia - 5 stars. If you can't handle whole fish, don't get it. If you can, you're in for a treat. I prefer the Red Snapper when they're available. They're always fresh, flaky and crispy to perfection. The flavor and texture is the perfect combination when it melts in the mouth. Comes with salad, rice and side of plantain. My favorite Soup is Friday's Seafood Soup. 5 stars. They don't skimp on the amount and type of seafood. The large portion is enough to share with a small group. Besides the food, atmosphere is so friendly that it makes me feel like family I've been here. Not only I would recommend it, any friend comes close to the area I'd personally take them here. read more

I was in the mood to find a new place for lunch near work, and saw the great reviews this place had been getting. Being a huge (literally) fan of empanadas in general, I knew I had to walk in. I have to tell you, I always seem to be drawn to Mom and Pop type ethnic places like this. I just find them more interesting in general. I was pleased to see the friendliness of the staff right off the bat. I do believe it was the owner himself who waited on me at first, and he was very nice. He took some time to explain to me Columbia style cooking, and what kind of empanadas he had. He had 5 different types. I decided to go for one of each, which all totaled runs just over 6 bucks for all 5. i considered it an excellent deal. These empanadas are the real deal. I loved them all, but I really enjoyed the Argentinian and the Hawaiian ones. And I had never had a cassava empananda before today, but I guarantee I will have them again as they take really well to the sauces they offer you. I decided to finish off with a passion fruit milkshake, and it proved to be a perfect ending. I also noticed some entrees other diners were having and they looked to be wonderful. The gentleman sitting at the table next to me made it a point to tell me how good it is and that he was a regular there. Want delicious Columbian (Latin) food without traveling to South America? Well, all you have to do is travel to Frazier to eat Homemade, authentic Columbian/Latin food by this friendly family establishment. The family used to have a location a couple iles east that was basically a grocery store, but on the weekends the owners wife/mother would sell the most delectable latin delicacies. The Latin community would come from all over to eat and dine with this wonderful family until the food ran out (happened all the time). Now, you don't have to only come weekends because they have opened this new location a mile west on route 30. The empanada's are still to die for....I had a traditional Columbian feast that included amazing beans and rice, fried plantains, asada steak, Columbian sausage, and what I can explain as the best Bacon I have ever had (Columbian style bacon?) & a fried egg! Needless to say, I could come close to finishing and believe it or not, it was only $10.99 (more popular Philadelphia establishments such as Tierra would've easily charged $35 for same dish). After dinner, if you have room for more, the homemade bakery is to die for. I had figs with caramel, that would make the pickiest sweet tooth happy. The passion fruit flan (or what they say is Columbian type yogurt) was delicious as well. Well needless to say, I recommend this place to anyone that wants to try something new and different. YUM! This place is worth visiting for the Hawaiian Empanadas alone! They are so amazingly good. I could eat those every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of them. They are the prefect blend of sweet pineapple, salty ham, this great creamy filing (tastes like they blend everything in a pot before adding to the crust and frying, because the flavor is all melded and perfectly put together for its own taste). Oh my goodness, don't give me birthday cake, give me Hawaiian Empanadas! Don't give me Christmas cookies, give me Hawaiian Empanadas! Don't give me champagne, give me Hawaiian Empanadas! Other menu items we've had are the fried plantains, which completely deliver as well. I love fried plantains. There is a mom-n-pop restaurant in the San Juan PR airport, where I love to go when I have a layover there JUST for their fried plantains. Mi Pais does them just as well, and I now don't have to fly to Puerto Rico for them! The arepas are great too. We've had regular arepas and the Chicharrón con arepa, which is like a bacon and avocado sandwich with cheese... you really can't go wrong there. We've also had the Bandeja Mi País and the chicken and rice. All very good. The herbs on the chicken are not totally my taste, but that is all subjective. I love so much else on their menu I am not complaining. I really want to try their Wednesday soup, beef and plantain. Sounds really good. For the longest time my family and friends have had the hardest time trying to find real, authentic Latin food in our area. However, after discovering Mi Pais, we could not be more pleased with the quality of food presented at this restaurant. From the empanadas to the delicious fruit juices, Mi Pais has a variety of dishes from South America including Colombian, Argentine and Venezuelan delicacies. The meat and beans in the entrées are all perfectly seasoned and cooked correctly. You can truly notice the care and passion that goes into cooking these meals, and I am so thankful to have discovered this restaurant. Being from Puerto Rico, my family has always considered Latin food to be our 'comfort food', and there is no other place I'd rather go in the area to satisfy my craving for a delicious meal than Mi País. read more

Great place to get Latin food in the area. The Argentinian Empanadas are terrific - succulent seasoned beef, punctuated with olives and wrapped in a crispy yet chewy dough package. Enjoy with their spicy salsa verde. The portions are huge and very reasonably priced. I love the Columbian styled bacon - a huge hunk of pork belly fried and made all crispy. This is my favorite casual eatery in the suburbs! Food: The food here is a delicious mix of primarily Colombian dishes. My favorite here are the Empanadas which are fried to order and oh so delicious! I've been known to order these by the dozen to use as hors d'oerves at parties I've hosted. I also enjoy the Bandeja Mi Pais which is a HUGE sampler from across the menu. After visiting this place over 10 times I have never been disappointed by anything from their menu! Drink: While Mi Pais does not have a bar, they offer a great selection of fresh juices which I highly recommend! Service: Servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Servers are all bilingual. No complaints here. Allot extra time if you have 6 or more in your party as it takes them a long time to get the food out for large tables. The Store: Along a wall at Mi Pais is a large shelf containing South American groceries and candies which are tough to find in this part of the country! There's nothing like seeing a family's faces light up as they see Cocosettes or Harina Pan for the first time in ages. If you're missing a candy from Colombia or Venezuela chances are they have it for sale! It all adds to the charm. Value: Prices here are great - especially for the portions. Been to mi Pais many times!! Randomly Found it through yelp one day and gave it a shot! And oh man did we fall in love with it! We have probably been over 10 times before and every time we go we are never left disappointed... food is always delicious and fresh full of flavor and customer service is always great! We are always welcomed by a friendly face upon walking in. The restaurant is also a small super market so we always leave with a yummy Columbian treat not to mention they also sell fresh juices and the best empanadas around!! I've been going to Mi Pais since it was located in a tiny strip further down Rte 30. The food is always consistent and delicious. I always order the beef empanadas with medium sauce(hot will make you see double). Truthfully, if i had to choose only one food to eat the rest if my life it would be these empanadas. The Patacones Locos is also one of my favorites. I like to get it with a mixture of shredded beef and chicken. You'll always feel at home here. read more
