Today was rice and beans, pollo guisado, and a salad with pique on it. Scrumptious! What made it even more special, is that the owner knows my husbands grandfather (in PR), and the person that took over his grandfather's restaurant. Real deal food with great pricing. We did not order desert but one of our party had a birthday and when we informed him we had no room for desert he brought out a plate with happy birthday drizzled in chocolate with a small mound of whipped cream and a strawberry. I ordered a steak dish with the goal of getting as many South American flavors in my dish as possible- it came with a delightful cold salad, very good chimichurri, fried yuca, and a side of cheesy rice. The steak was cooked rare to my liking, which isn't always the case. It was a lot of food, beware. We started with some empanadas- which were also good, and this made it a Thanksgiving level feast.
