I don't know why most of my recent restaurant reviews seem to be about Mexican food. I eat out all the time--I just happen to have stumbled across some truly outstanding Mexican restaurants lately. Maybe it's because I live on Martha's Vineyard, and while the Island has plenty of great places to eat, authentic Mexican cuisine is hard to find. Sorry, JB, but there's really no authentic Mexican food on the Vineyard. Fiesta Mexican in Norton is an amazingly well-hidden gem. From the outside, sitting in a strip mall, you might assume it's just another typical Mexican restaurant. It's not. The restaurant is much larger than it appears, has an impressive atmosphere, and boasts what seems like hundreds of tequilas behind the bar. Even at 1:30 in the afternoon, there was a strong lunch crowd, which is always a good sign. The staff was excellent. Jake, the bartender, was a breath of fresh air--friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about every tequila on the shelf. My friends always laugh at me because when I visit fine dining restaurants, I often order something simple, like baked chicken. My reasoning is that baked chicken is the blank canvas of a chef. If a chef can't make something basic taste great, I don't have much confidence in the rest of the menu. That's exactly how I feel about tacos. Whenever I walk into a Mexican restaurant, I start with tacos--hard shell, soft shell, chicken, beef, steak, it doesn't matter. If a restaurant can't get the basics right, I don't expect much from the rest of the menu. But if the tacos are excellent, then I know I'll be back to explore everything else. Fiesta passed that test with flying colors. This is an outstanding Mexican restaurant tucked away in Norton, and if you haven't been there yet, you should put it on your list. The critic in me does have one small suggestion: the music was a little loud for lunchtime. The playlist was good, but the vibe felt more nightclub than midday lunch crowd. At 7:00 or 8:00 PM, I'd say turn it up and let the fiesta roll. But at 1:00 in the afternoon, I'd prefer something a little more mellow so the food and conversation remain the stars of the show. That minor observation aside, I honestly struggled to find anything else to critique. We'll definitely find an excuse to come back to Fiesta Mexican. With an incredible tequila selection, plenty of TVs, great service, and excellent food, this may just be a Mexican sports bar at its finest. read more

My son and hubby went here last year while we were here for hockey tournament. Raved about the food and service. And was looking forward to coming back - well it was as good as they raved about and then some! Wow, from delicious watermelon margaritas and coconut lime margaritas to fresh salsa and warm chips to the entrees that we had, it was by far the best Mexican food. Our table side guacamole server was from Mexico. Our waiter Nick was attentive and personable and we enjoyed his recommendations for drinks and entrees. Still love this place! I just wanted to be sure to mention Catarino, who is an awesome server! He remembers the usual orders of my kids and husband (the 3 of them come here often), which is so kind and makes visits even better. I don't always come here when the three of them do, and I definitely don't always get the same thing. Some my favorites are Baja Fish Tacos (great sauce!), Arroz con Camarones (shrimp), Suizas Enchilada, and the Fajita Chimichanga. read more

We came here last night for double date and brought our 11 month old daughter. The wIt staff was attentive to getting drinks not rushing us with reviewing the menu. Food was brought out quickly. Been trying to go there for some time. Finally went there last night. Started with warm tortilla chips and salsa-very good. We also had table side guacamole, also delicious. I had the burrito del mar-wonderful. It's topped with grilled shrimp which were delicious. The refried beans were outstanding. Had the best flavor I've ever had. Everything I saw looked great. The y are located down the road from an Xfinity Center, so if there is a performance, you may hit traffic. Customer experience is varied and depends on the time and staff. For over a decade, this has been my favorite local Mexican restaurant. However, things have changed and today's experience was far far below expectations. In the past, regardless of how busy it was, one was greeted at the door and/or by the first staff member to pass by. However today, the individual who appeared to be the manager (no name tags) just ignored us and washed the windows. He'd move around us without a greeting and not respond to "Hello." Two staff were tending a table, and two staff were behind the bar. No one responded to a wave or eye contact. After feeling invisible for for 20 minutes, we told the manager we were going elsewhere. He just shrugged his shoulders and went back to arranging table. Note only 3 tables in whole restaurant had customers. The food is usually good. My son usually orders a combination plate. We go so often that many staff know his choices. My wife likes the burritos. I usually order the garlic shrimp. I would like to think today was an aberration; however, with staff turn over in the COVID era, I fear not. This may still be a good bet at certain time with the right staff. If I return, I hope there will be an positive experience as before worthy of a new review. read more

FIESTA!! Their margaritas are exCELLENT, even their house marg is great and it doesn't hurt the wallet as much. The wait staff is kind and I love the food here. They have a lot of options. I recommend the taquitos, the fiesta tacos, and their burritos. Also their rice is just so good, I would honestly be satisfied with just their rice and refried beans. The only feedback I would give is that sometimes the food is too oily so it gets soggy as leftovers. If you're not gonna eat your whole meal the only things I have actually eaten as leftovers are the quesadillas or fajitas. read more

This place is great. I love the fresh guacamole and I typically get the chicken mole. So good! The margaritas are also excellent. My husband loves the jalapeño one. Our kids are super picky and order very specific taco orders. They are always accommodating. We have never had a bad meal here. We ordered take out once as well. They packaged up everything so well. This place use to be very consistent with great tasting food, but now it's gotten to be consistent for just average food at the very most... service is always good here but, after the last 2 times of coming here and receiving food that tasted like it's been done in the microwave with no taste to it I would rather consider going to a different Mexican restaurants. read more

Popped in before a concert and was pleased that there wasn't a wait on a Friday at 5pm. The restaurant was busy tho. Our waiter was a bit odd which I love. They give you free chips and dip to start. The chips are warm and delicious. The salsa seemed homemade and had a good kick to it. We got the chicken chimichanga and a beef one. Both where huge and delicious. The only set back was the mega margarita it didn't seem to have any alcohol in it. If it did it was a tiny amount. The watermelon flavor was very good still. read more

Great place for Mexican in the area. We've gotten takeout a few times and have eaten in once. The hot chips are delicious. The flavor of the salsa is good but a bit too watery for my liking. The tableside guac is also tasty, but not sure it's worth paying double the price to have it prepared tableside vs ordering it as an app. Their tacos are my favorite meal. Hubby prefers the hard tacos, while I prefer the soft tacos. Ground beef and steak fillings are really good. So good, that I haven't tried anything else! Watermelon margarita was just OK for me. Hubby liked his top shelf margarita! Looking forward to dining in again and trying their sangria and other margaritas (there's a long list to choose from). Only downside is the odd location in a strip mall and no outdoor seating. read more

Update; amazing service from Carlos! Again, the endless chips (not too salty) and salsa (subtle spicy) were endless and plentiful. This time my best gal and I just split a fajita chimichanga with a couple of amazing drinks. This time we walked out full and satisfied, a real stick to your ribs kind of meal. There was a lapse in time from the moment our food arrived to when we were finished. I mean this food was easily shareable and my picture doesn't do it justice but holy cow it looked so good and smelled amazing and tasted great. This is the kind of meal where you get quiet because you're eating and can't seem to stop indulging in these addictive flavors. Also; the watermelon margarita is still a perfect concoction you need to try it. The bar tender told me it is made with watermelon that they puree that day and I believe it! The service here is very good. The staff is efficient and friendly. The food is good but it's not authentic Mexican food, more like Tex Mex. The dishes are prepared for the American palate. Nothing wrong with that, just saying! The atmosphere is very lively and I saw several tables that were each celebrating something special. Although I love Fiesta Mexican's food, they are a bit rigid and difficult to work with about ordering online vs on the phone. They are not Sarma in Boston, they are Fiesta Mexican in Norton. They lose one point for that. Also, if you ever need to have food delivered, DO NOT USE DOORDASH, the combination of Fiesta's rigidity and DoorDashes stupidity left me with food for eight that was cold and congealed on my doorstep, two hours before I got home. Came here with my family on a Saturday afternoon. The place was pretty packed. Though it was busy, we were greeted and seated by a very polite server right away so that was nice. We are from NYC awe spent the weekend in Mansfield. We came here for dinner and the service was great food was delicious. So much flavor !

Went for the watermelon margarita everyone raves about but ended up with a classic frozen one since the former was on the rocks and I like mine like a slushy. It did not disappoint! Paired well with the yummy chips and salsa. Bf had the carne asada which was delicioso! I don't usually like carne asada from restaurants after finding a local Mexican market back home that has the greatest I've ever had, but this one was awesome! I had a combo, a pork tamale that had crunchy spots on the outside and a weird sauce (not good) and a shredded chicken taco which was decent. Our server was a young man named Andrew. Big kudos to him! We watched two different tables being complete pain in the butts, and he was so nice and apologetic! One guy was complaining AFTER he got his food that there was meat and cheese in it and he is a vegan! Shouldn't the complainer have read the menu or asked BEFORE he ordered? Props to Andrew for dealing with the jackass and tolerating the onslaught of ignorant comments from said jackass. read more

Still great! I did take out this time and the whole experience was wonderful. I was greeted by three different employees while I was there. When I walked in, my food was just being brought out, so was hot and fresh. A note for those ordering takeout, if you want lime, make sure you ask for it. I had some limes at home, so didn't need it, but it isn't automatically included, so next time I'll know to ask for it. Same with utensils. My thoughts on the food are as follows: ALBÓNDIGAS SOUP: I look for this at every Mexican restaurant I go to because it's delicious, but Fiesta is the only one I've found it at since moving to New England. Theirs did not disappoint. If you haven't tried it, squeeze some lime into it and crush some tortilla chips on top. You can thank me later. CARNE ASADA STREET TACOS: very good flavor. The only problem I had with them is that they came with one tortilla as opposed to the typical two for each taco (it helps keep the taco from falling apart). The tortillas were fresh, so this probably wouldn't be a problem in house as you're eating it as soon as it leaves the kitchen, but I had a 20 minute drive and then ate the soup first, so by the time I got to the tacos, the juice from the meat had soaked into the tortillas and they split at the bottom after the first bite. Not a big deal though because it tasted so good. CHILE COLORADO: I tried a bite of it and it was just as good as I remembered. Refuted beans weren't as runny as last time, so they were perfect. Great dish overall. CHIPS AND SALSA: chips are fresh and the salsa is flavorful, but not spicy. I enjoyed it. read more

Randomly picked out this spot for dinner on the way home from Wrentham. Upon arrival, it was empty inside. The bar area is to the left with a few booths and high chair tables for dining and the right is a full dining area. Complimentary chips and salsa. Ordered the nachos with pulled pork (forgot the exact name) but it was OK. It's a big plate for 2. I wouldn't order it again. My husband and I ordered fajitas combo (steak shrimp chicken) and it was good but the veggies were a little burnt. I was bummed that I wasn't able to try anything on their drink menu but they had some good options. Not a place that I would go out of my way to get to but overall it was an OK experience. Fiesta!! Yeah baby!! I don't know why it took me so long to give this place a try although this place was only 10 mins away. I am glad i finally broke the jynx. Absolutely wonderful customer service and great food. From the moment we walked in we never felt being left alone. Started off with the Coronarita and the complimentary chips with housemade salsa. So typical!! For the main entree we ordered the Carne Asada and Pollo Fiesta. Both the dishes were supremely delicious. The carne asada was right on spot. The right cut of meat perfectly seasoned and cooked. Guacamole, pico de gallo and fried beans to go with. The pollo fiesta was a surprise as well. Chicken was tender and those sauteed onions, mushrooms and bell peppers brought in a great flavor to the dish. The staff was very pleasant and brought us freshly made tortillas to go with the meat.
