Just moved into neighborhood I order from them twice. The first time the only thing that I liked where the tacos. Their pozole was tasty but being Mexican I'm used to my mom taking time removing the skin off the corn is tastier And more soft and better tasting. So I order from them again this time the mole verde with pork! Now that was off the chain very tasty and not too hot just perfect! I always order tacos just In case that's from any restaurant. I LOVE this place!! i have been going to this restaurant for about 5 years and i have never been disappointed. This place brings authentic mexican food that is is delicious and is filled with flavor. This is not a fancy place, this this has a more comfty mood with great hispanic music. They also have an area seating downstairs where you can watch t.v. Majority of the time they have on soap operas so if your one of those crazy novela fanatic, you will not miss out on your show! They have the best salsa dip and till this day i haven't tasted anything like it in any other place. We order take out from Mi Ranchito at least twice a week. I always order the large shrimp quesadilla and a tamarind Mexican soda. We also order tacos dorados and the best freshly made $5 guacamole with chips ( make sure you tell them to add pico de gallo to it ). I really shouldn't be telling you about our favorite take out spot, but is not fair to the establishment to keep it to ourselves. Also try the huevos rancheros! I always passed by this place and never thought of going in. I went in because me and my neighbor were looking for mexican food. the place is small . We went downstairs to seat. Great service. Great authentic food. My neighbor loves the margarita. I enjoyed the shrimps quesadilla and guacamole with chips. they also serve a mild red sauce with the chips. They are very friendly. So this is my go to spot for when I don't feel like cooking. Unfortunatley, I order the SAME thing every time I go...because its soooooo good I never get tired of it. I always get a plate of the hot bar food that's by their front window. The employees know me so well they don't even have to ask what I want, they just start making my plate. The food is made to order!! Fantastic. The guac is amazing and fresh. It takes alil long to get to your table but that's only because it's being made fresh for your tastebuds. Worth the wait! Gets alil noisy in the evening as music is played really loud. But you should def go!! read more

Washington heights is a little bit of a trip uptown, but I'm up here with friends and stopped in Mi Ranchito for a late dinner. It's not a big place, with four tables and bar seating- but there's live singing in Spanish, and a local Spanish speaking crowd (there's a large dominican population here). It's fun. And I haven't gotten to the food- check out the combination platters and get the guacamole. You can pretty much randomly select a few items because everything is tasty. So if you don't make it this far uptown, well, go exploring in this neighborhood. read more

Their chips and salsa are sooo good and I also get their tacos but my favorite favorite favorite thing I love is their stuffed burrito its big and soo good and creamy and it comes with rice and frijoles (black beans) I love drinking their jarito soda I get passion fruit. One of my favorite places to get tacos! They make the tortillas by hand, daily and they give you guacamole and don't charge extra for it. The horchata is pretty good too. The music can be a bit loud, and their new location isn't as good as the last one, but they only moved across the street. read more

I love this little gem hidden amongst the saint nicholas strip. The food here is amazing from the chips and salsa they give at the table, to the guac and tacos! So amazingly good and the staff is all female and always extremely friendly and welcoming. If i can give any less i would, poor customer service, no help from waitress, seldomly around. When i decided to leave and just pay for drink, the waitress charge tip automatically in order to ensure that she got her money. To add frosting to the cake she also took it upon herself to make it 25% tip. Terrible service was all i purchased at the end. I love, love, love this Mexican Food it is authentic! The best I have yet to taste in the neighborhood. They also deliver but do not ask them to bring change for 50's or 100's because they will not deliver, which I understand for safety reasons of their delivery man. Anyhow, if you haven't tasted their food you need to, if you go there expect a wait for your food it really depends on your waitress, there are about 2 that slack but for the most part customer service is good!!!
