The carnitas was dry and hard. My friends order was bland no flavor and no appetizing. We asked to talk to manager. Manager didn't come to our table. We love Mi Ranchito but today was disappointed by 1 worker(server). When we received our check it had a credit card service charge on it without even asking us how we were paying. I know saturdays our busy it took over 20 min for our waitress to even come and ask if we were ready to order-no problem. When she took our order she told us she was new and to be patient with her and for the food to come out-again no problem. We waited about 30 min for our food to come out. When I saw the charge on the check I didn't know how much longer we would have to wait for her to come back and we were kinda in a hurry to leave because of the long waiting times. When the other server was at the counter she said oh ya weve been doing that for over a year now, I said you charge it without even asking how your paying? Thats when she told me our server was new and I should've stayed at my table like I was suppose to do! WHAT? I have done both at this location and American Fork I've paid at the table and at the counter. Then they wonder why customers get upset after they just chastised you and give you that little smirk! Their chips and salsa are they lightest chips with the best tasting salsa and it is what I go for. They've stepped up their game. They are taking extra precautions by blocking tables out, adding in black barrier walls above each booth, they place is really clean and the food was really good. It feels like with having half the number of tables, even though they still are ordering for curbside the quality of food has improved. The service was consistent from the time you are seated through the bill. They do state at the entry that they would like tables to spend no more than 1 hour which is more than enough time now that they are able to bring out your drinks and food within 15 minutes. read more

I loved Mi Ranchito!! Honestly they had some of the best pork nachos ever and they loaded them like crazy. (they do not skimp on the meat here!!!) we also ordered the supreme burrito. The burrito was okay when it was stacked up against the nachos. So its hard to love it cause the nachos were crazy good. But on its own the burrito was really yummy and it came with a side of rice and beans. They also have reasonable prices for Mexican food and everything comes in big portions. I'm pretty picky about Mexican restaurants, and have the opinion that many are pretty good but are very similar. Some items, to my taste, are "hit of miss", such as chile rellenos and tamales. Our meal a week ago was "stand-out" excellent! I ordered the combo of a beef enchilada, chile relleno, and tamale. Of course, it came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were nothing exceptional, but were good; I always like to mix them together. The other items, however, were wonderful! The enchilada was plump, with shredded beef (like eating a Sunday roast!); the tamale and relleno flavorful and filling. The price? Very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The complimentary salsa and chips were tasty, but I would have preferred the salsa to be a little thicker and with more cilantro. Also, I like my food a little spicier than what was served (very mild), and ordered some "green" sauce, which spiced things up to a medium level. Once poured on my food, everything was perfect. The service, too, was superb. I live in Salt Lake, but would have no problem making a special trip to Orem to eat here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

We've been coming here since 1996, todays service was the worst we've ever experienced! 1 hour to get our food, which came cold, had to ask for water, chips and set ups (forks) - 2 out of 4 forks had one prong bent in a direction that would be harmful if used. Waitress said she was sorry for delay, but their online orders got out of control...we were there at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon?! I guess Uber Eats is more important than brick and mortar customers. Asked to speak to manager (Vanessa) she didn't even apologize for anything, just gave excuses on how busy they are...restaurant was 1/4 full. I'm a big fan of Mi Ranchito. I almost always order the fajitas and they have been very good so far. I've had a lot of Fajitas around here that are extremely bland and taste of oil. The food is so good here! The portions are huge, and staff is awesome. What more can you want? I have had several of their plates now and I have never been disappointed. Including fajitas, carne asada, and chicken enchiladas. I can never finish everything, the plates are gigantic. I really like their rice, it has more of a savory taste than a tomato paste flavor. The variety and different types of cuisine from different places in Mexico was spot on (I know because I've been just about everywhere in Mexico). There was soooo much food, and I seriously could drink the dark mole sauce! The menu has like 5-6 pages, and every table I looked at had different plates of food -- they all looked delicious. I asked the waitress if I get a sample of the chile verde she left and came back with a bowl of what I expected would be some meat. To my surprise there was no meat in there just sauce. Apparently she had told me the Kooks in the back of a very stingy. I was like wow tell them I'll never be back. I did order the burrito al pastor and I have to admit horrible just horrible. I'll start by saying that I've been going here to this location since I was a little kid and it's still my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time, I may be a little biased but Mexican is my favorite cuisine and I've tried A LOT of different Mexican restaurants and none of them are as good as Mi Rancherito in Orem. Also almost every single person I've brought here has loved it and it has also become their favorite Mexican restaurant. We still go there often and they're incredibly consistent with their high quality food, and fast and friendly service, they're almost always busy because it's so popular but we've never had to wait much more than 30-40 minutes even on an extremely busy Saturday night, but typically they'll seat two people within 10 minutes. Their salsa is great and their rice is easily the best I've ever had, nothing compares. They'll always ask how the food is and if I ever just don't like what I've ordered they're always extremely happy to switch out my plate for something else, no extra charge, no questions asked. All in all just a great restaurant that's up kept very nice and clean with plenty of tables and booths. But unfortunately not a big enough parking lot for those super busy nights, so get there early. read more

Okay..... I walked into this restaurant with not the greatest of expectations. The hostess definitely wasn't the mostest. Started with a house Margarita which was so sour it made me pucker just bringing the glass up to drink. This is by far the absolute worst Margarita I've ever been served. I ordered the beef taco and Chili Rellano combination plate #4 which came with rice and beans and while the Rellano was good, the Beef Taco had burnt ends, the meat was completely dry, the lettuce had Italian dressing in it which I found to be very strange like they pulled it from a salad and put it in my taco. We've enjoyed our visits to Mi Ranchito though we haven't explored the menu real thoroughly. We can vouch for the chicken enchiladas (we greatly prefer the red over the normal green sauce, you'll need to request red if you want that), the chicken tacos and the nachos (which are enormous by the way). This is a traditional sit-down Mexican restaurant where you get a piping hot plate of food that includes generous servings of rice and beans. The menu is extensive. Free chips and salsa are served as soon as you are seated. We have been very impressed by the quality of service that we've received and the food is usually very quick to the table. Our orders have always been prepared just as we've asked even when we make substitution requests. It seems like a very popular place during the lunch hour and on Friday and Saturday night. I'm not giving it a 5 star only because I have had better Mexican food elsewhere but the food here is good and Mexican restaurants seem scant in Utah so we do recommend you checking Mi Ranchito out. read more

A mixed bag. Stopped in a little before 5:00 on a Friday. The place was already packed. We waited five minutes for a table and there were a couple parties behind us. On our way out it was even more crowded. We were served chips and salsa right away. The salsa was thin, but tasty, and the chips were thin as well, and ok, but not great. I ordered an upscale margarita. The menu listed the ingredients as: tequila, triple sec and house made mix. It was so sweet and awful I couldn't drink it. It tasted like a combination of powdered lemonade mix and cough syrup. Not. Good. For dinner I got a shredded beef taco, and a chile relleno. It came with beans and rice. We've been coming to Mi Ranchito for years, trying things from enchiladas, to tostadas, to burritos, chimichangas, etc. They have a large menu with beef, chicken, pork, vegetarian, and seafood. My favorite go-to items are the double chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, and side salad. But be careful, that delicious melty cheesy enchilada comes on a very hot plate! And definitely grab the horchata! The place is found right off of a very busy main street, and parking is funky. If you go on a weekend, you may have to double park, because it gets super busy. We've had to wait in the lobby for about 30 mins before being seated. And yes, this is a sit-down restaurant. There is plenty of seating and you can grab a room for a little larger party. However, it's kind of crowded, so beware. It's not the most wheelchair accessible restaurant. There is a ramp leading to the restaurant, but no button to open doors. The restrooms are small, not at all wheelchair accessible. However, the feel is nice and you can feel the latin lovin' and the groove to music. I'm never satisfied completely when I come to Mi Ranchito. Maybe it reminds me of all the other Mexican/American joints in the valley, such as Joe Vera's and Los Hermanos, which I feel very poorly about. I've been a few times with friends, family and coworkers. Everyone else enjoys it almost to the fanatic level. I find it acceptable and not much more than that. On my most recent dining experience, I ordered a "Top Shelf" margarita and an al pastor quesadilla. The margarita was so boozy and strong I could hardly bring myself to finish (but I did cuz it was 9 dollars and alcohol is a precious commodity). My quesadilla was the star of the show. The al pastor is fantastic and likely what I will get from now on. It was cheesy, and perfect amount of spice and sweet. However, my quesadilla was placed on top of the refried beans which made the tortilla soggy if I didn't eat it in .05 seconds. Sure, it's kinda nitpicky, but it made the eating hard and I ended up opening up the tortilla to eat the cheese and al pastor by itself without the soggy bean tortilla. Service is very very very slow. I waited at the front to be seated for near 20 minutes in an empty restaurant. The waiters are polite but don't really feel compelled to help much. My waitress was the best I've had there, and this was my first experience having someone actually refill water and drinks. It's a fine restaurant if you're in the mood for That Type of Mexican Food.
