This is small local cafe on the bergenline.I stopped in to get the a cheese sandwich and coffee and they were A ok..But all the tables were packed with locals having their breakfast platters and it all looked delicious. I am used to the Cuban Cheese Sandwich and this was nowhere close to that.But I am assuming the breakfast platters are their specialties. Give them a try if you are in neighborhood. read more

This is my first time in New Jersey, I yelped this place because of the great reviews. When I got here the place was packed, I had to wait for a seat so it seemed promising. I had to wait about 10 minutes for a menu, the waitress was rude and when asking questions about the menu she was short with me. This is a really tiny spot. I cant be easily missed. The restaurant is a very fast paced place so people can get mislead by stating that the staff is rude but quite frankly even though I had to seat in the bar area due to a lack of seating area since the place was quite busy I enjoyed my time there.The two dishes my guest and I ordered where executed to perfection. The food was fresh.The portions and prices were reasonable. The food has a home made feel to it. Very bad service, the food not so great either, the place it's too small, the only thing that I like from this place it's the crab salad.

Great Ecuadorian spot. I had the Fritada which was yummy and a huge portion. My cousin had the sopa de pollo which was also really good. The staff is not always the friendliest and the service is not always the fastest but if you have been here before then you know to grab your menu take a seat and wave down a waitress. The chair was terribly wobbly and you had no room for your feet. Again no one acknowledges me there. I waived someone down for a menu and the girl who handed me the menu seemed bothered. No a single one of the five or so staff members ever smiled. The menu selection seemed good. Prices are inexpensive. I went for the ceviche and a tree tomato shake. The ceviche had an off after taste but was decent. The tree tomato milkshake was a little tangy and not what I remember, I may give them another try and hope it was an off day, but definitely only for take out. Our waitress was not very helpful and seemed annoyed that we had questions about plates we had never eaten before. I though perhaps the food would justify the wait and terrible but I was terribly mistaken. The service here is horrible. They stand behind the counter talking to each other and just ignore you. They always look like they hate their life. Once I called ahead so my order would be ready for pick up, they either didn't answer, or would pick up the phone and leave it on the counter. I continued hanging up and calling, 9 times. All with the same result. When I did decide to wait for someone to acknowledge me, I waiting 15 mins. Then someone hung up the phone, without anyone ever speaking to me. If you order food to-go, while you're in there, you'll be waiting for 40 mins...for a ham and cheese sandwich. The food here is fine. I don't have a complaint about the food. But don't bother coming here. The food is not worth the bad attention. I'd rather go to QuickChek for lunch everyday. read more

My sister has been holding family gatherings at her house for months. Each time we get together, she breaks out this delicious fish ceviche that is white-ish in color. She told us all that it was her recipe. So what do I do? I beg her for the recipe. She stalls and stalls and stalls some more. Finally, I took it upon myself to go, personally, to her house and wrestle this recipe from her. When I get there, she says "let's go for a ride." She proceeds to take me to this little café called "Mi Tierra." She could no longer contain her laughter and finally confesses that the fish ceviche came from this little restaurant. Talk about a superb fish ceviche!!! Absolutely wonderful. If you want an authentic, delicious and fresh fish ceviche, MI TIERRA CAFÉ is the place. They also have authentic Ecuadorian soups on weekends. Great authentic Ecuadorian food done right by hard working and nice staff. Now, I'm gonna have to drive all the way from Queens, NY just to get this fish ceviche. It will be worth every single mile. Keep up the great work. read more
