A neighborhood gem open late into the night, I came here yesterday for a post workout meal and boy was I impressed. Firstly it's easy to assemble chicken over rice and slather it in sauces and call it a day. But my plate came so beautifully orchestrated and quick that I just had to share it. I ordered the chicken over rice with extra chicken and a side of falafel the vegetables were fresh and cut evenly the chicken, juicy and bursting with flavor was seasoned extremely well, The rice had enough bite to it To be a perfect vehicle for a good forkful, and there was just enough cilantro to add a solid amount of earthiness to cut through the white sauce and BBQ sauces. And when I say I got extra chicken, I def got my moneys worth. Everything was proportioned well and as I mixed my plate the flavors melded together in perfect symphony. My favorite part was honestly the falafel, which was not oily at all, had a moist munchkin like texture, and the flavor was seasoned and saulty just enough to leave you wanting more. She knew just from the light weight of the bag !! She's was 100 % on the money !! The take out trays are much smaller & his portion is much smaller his prices keep going up !! $9.80 each plate totally not worth it !! I can't speak for the few ppl that had a bad experience but to me it's shocking bcuz this has been the BEST Halal I've ever had in NYC and I've tried them all from Halal Bros to Zagat rated mobile stands in Manhattan and BK. The chicken is fire grilled, the rice tastes grilled also as crazy as that sounds but the meat, rice and bread textures are just marvelous. And if you love it spicy, they have sauces I've never even seen anywhere else. Love this place. I've told every friend and family member I could to go here. A bit pricey but worth every penny. I ended up leaving the food there cause I was late for work and came back to get it. Asked for a free soda or something and the guy just laughed in my face. I was so disappointed in my food and I cannot believe how overpriced it is especially based on the location, the portions, the quality and taste, the cuisine itself. The thing about Halal food like chicken over rice, is that it's supposed to be a cheap meal that hits the spot. This place does not know how to make chicken over rice. I think this was easily the worst chicken over rice I have ever had in my life. The flavor was more like seasoned south Asian food as opposed to your typical flavors that you would get from a chicken over rice cart. I'm a NY'er, so by default... I love halal cart food. With that being said, I've tried many different carts and decided to give this storefront a try. The food was good. The rice wasn't the traditional Basmati rice used in the carts, it was rather soft and complimented the food very well. The white sauce was tasty - not as flavorful as I expected. The only reason I give this place 3 stars is for the mere fact that the service is slow. Parking is hard around this area and it takes about 15 minutes in total to order and get your food, 3x the time it takes at a cart. They're a bit more attentive to orders over the phone instead of serving the people at the counter. Also, a chicken rice is about $7 and they tax you, so it's about $8-$10 depending on if you get a drink, and if you ask for extra white sauce to go, it's $.50 extra - not the kind of customer service that'll bring me back. Overall - the food was good, but not worth the hype or the wait... or the extra quarters. My local chicken and rice cart shall suffice, they're $4 cheaper and give extra sauce. read more

Used to be one of best places for halal, quality of food went down. And prices just keep raising, a platter cost about 11$ and that does not even include a drink! Halal food is one of the most underrated cuisines on the planet. Usually halal food is packed with flavor but this was lacking. I ordered the lamb and chicken over rice and it wasnt ver good. The lamb meat was dry and had no taste. Even the yogurt sauce and hot sauce were bland. They had raw onions in the dish too which I have never seen. They need to cook those to take the sharpness out. I picked up a pita bread and there was a HAIR on it. I called the restaurant to inform them about this and the lady who answered the phone was in denial, and that made me upset because I'm not looking for free food from anywhere. She could have hear me out before saying "that's impossible because no one has hair" then she changed her words stating that " everyone's hair is covered" then she says the pita bread is covered.
