I've come here a couple times with my family, and it had always been a pleasant experience up to the most recent one. Views here are breathtaking, and the wine is wonderful as ever. I got here at 7:15 pm with the intention of leaving at 8:00 pm as I understand that's their closing time. Server told us they closed at 8pm, but patrons could stay up to 8:30pm. She stated she doesn't understand why "sunset is advertised online" when they are closed during summer sunset time. She seemed a bit annoyed at us, which I understood as closing time was happening soon. We left before other patrons did, prior to 8:30pm. I had no issue with that, my issue was with the way she spoke to my partner. As we were closing out she said we could not get a new glass, but could get topped off. My boyfriend asked if she could top off his glass, and she said something along the lines of "look at you using a new vocab word, you were paying attention to what I said". I'm not one who gets offended easily, but that comment came across as patronizing to me. Perhaps that wasn't her intention, but it was how it was perceived. Such a shame. I'd love to continue coming back, I just hope future interactions are more welcoming. read more

Awesome activities and wine! Went with a squad of 15 friends. They had massive tables that easily accommodated all of us. The guys enjoyed playing corn hole while we drank, chatted, and took pictures. Clean bathrooms and great views. Service was okay. Being wine certified and spending my undergrad and grad school days working in wine sales and wine clubs in both VA and CA, I know what I like... Sometimes a vineyard and winery is more than its product though. In most cases it is a visit to a vineyard that is pleasurable. It is a time to slow down and enjoy time with friends, familiy or loved one's in a scenic oasis. I really enjoyed our afternoon out to Mia Marie Vineyards. It was a breezy day and we had front row views in cozy chairs overlooking the valley. We completed a tasting of reds and whites, delicious. We also ordered the charcuterie, which the wind knocked off the table but we recovered the majority of the items, lost a few heart crackers, which staff immediately cleaned up. There is a food vendor on the weekend and the cheesy bread was the best! I will conduct a seperate review for them. Live music played on the terrace and the performer played many newer acoustic songs. On the way out, I picked up a puffer vest in a rose gold color, as it was a great value. When sitting on the patio on a cool day, they also have blankets that you can cover. I hope they will carry those blankets in a logo version in the future or bring them back if they exisited before. We will have to try the swing out on our next visit. Simply a beautiful setting... Note: They are pet friendly. A young lady brought her dog out for the day just to enjoy their time together. We had so much fun discovering this Winery hidden in the hills of Escondido with gorgeous abuse and a lovely breeze. We had a wonderful table right near the musician and Bella couldn't have been more helpful and kind. She shared notes, flavors, and even food pairing suggestions for our wines. We had a lovely day and decided to take home two bottles of wine. Tastings: $25/person for 5 pours (fee not waived with bottle purchase). Wines also available by the glass and bottle. Absolutely stunning views from this gorgeous, hilltop winery, open Fri - Sun, with live music most of the time. The property and winery/tasting room and patio are top notch. The staff was amazing and very attentive. They have some indoor seating, but the real showstopper is their expansive outdoor patio with views for miles. Reservations are not required, but recommended on holidays, or for parties of 10 or more. They offer charcuterie tasting boards, an assortment of cheeses, salami & cured meats, locally sourced beef jerky, dips and hummus, a variety of crackers, nuts, trail mix, chips, salty/sweet snacks, plus a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. Outside food is welcome. WINES: In general, the wines were on the lighter side, crisp/acidic, but well made. This is not our usual favorite style, but we did find several that we enjoyed enough to purchase bottles. I believe they mentioned that they have 25 acres planted and all fruit (white and red) comes from the Estate. This winery is a definite "must visit" when you're in the San Diego County wine country. Amazing view, great food, wide collection of wine. We went there some time on a random afternoon on Friday and they were selling Peruvian food there with a vendor out in the grill. There was also a big tour group that occupied the long tables, but still plenty of open spaces all round. We had 4 people and I wasn't able to drink, but service was so amazing that they offered to make me a pink rose mocktail so I can also feel included. Everything was great! Highly recommend as its dog friendly, nice outdoor seating with a view, and good drinks. Crowd seemed more laid back and mature. My friends introduced me to this winery because they have a wine club membership, and I'm seriously considering getting one for myself. My favorite is their Mon Tressor, which is their cab/merlot blend, but they always have a great tasting menu so I've really enjoyed their whites and rosés as well. Views from the winery are unmatched, and service is always on point. The live music on the weekends is a nice touch as well. A bit of a drive from San Diego proper but it's well worth it. read more

Our family enjoyed a wonderful evening here at Mia Marie Vineyard on Saturday. We originally had planned to visit Old Survey Winery, but when we got to the base road, there was a sign posted that they were closed for a private event. As fortune would have it, Mia Marie might have been the better choice all along. The views from the vineyard tasting and dining area are amazing, and they have an awesome setup for groups and parties. There was live music with a guitarist playing till 6pm, while the F&B stayed open till 7. They offer wines by the glass, bottle, and flights of 5 red and/or mixed. Our group ordered a bottle of the '21 Cabernet, along with 2 different flights, a few glasses of white and rose, and a carafe of the Sangria. They do offer some food, in the way of charcuterie, but the also have a pizza vendor on-site that makes fresh, hand-tossed, pizzas, fired there in the oven. Since they're made from scratch, it does take a bit (15 minutes or so) for the pizzas, so make sure to order early. They are delicious, though. The staff is very helpful in explaining the choices and the wines and provided very accommodating service, especially with my 16 month old toddler. We all enjoyed a great evening, and the experience is definitely worth the drive. read more

Love the vibe here and the winds aren't too shabby either. Making our way to the tasting room was a little bit confusing because the signs didn't continue but trust that you do need to go up the larger hill and at the top of that hill you will be at the tasting room. You do have to get a table and it is table serviced versus just walk up to the bar and sip. We ended up choosing the two different wine flights one for each of us so we could have a variety of the rosé whites and the Reds. I wondered why so many folks had blankets on when we first arrived just after 5 PM on a Saturday night it's because it does get a little windy up there and chilly when the sun goes down. We were there on Saturday night and it does close at 6 PM so it seems no more tables are seated at that time but they allowed us to finish up our wine and we didn't feel like we were pressured to go quickly and we were probably wrapped up by 6:30. There's a small menu available for light bites. We miss the live music, which is more in the middle of the afternoon so we'll have to go back and give that a try next time. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! I reserved a table for 10 online to celebrate my birthday, and when we arrived I realized we were actually going to be 14. The staff very kindly readjusted the tables since there were enough available at that time. Their flexibility made our celebration possible without any stress. The service was wonderful throughout the evening. They clearly did their best to stay on top of our large group, especially impressive considering there was another big party right next to us. I appreciated that we also had the option to order directly from the bar, which worked perfectly for a couple of friends who only stayed briefly. We ordered several different bottles to share at the table. As a red wine lover myself, I really enjoyed their red blend Mia. The quality across the board was excellent. My only note is that there wasn't room for our group outside, so we didn't get to experience all the incredible views the place has to offer. We asked as soon as we arrived, but I think outdoor seating just isn't designed for larger parties. Here's what really speaks to the magic of this place: none of my friends had been to this winery before, and absolutely every single one of them said "what a beautiful place!" to me as soon as they arrived, right after wishing me happy birthday. Even the drive getting there is breathtaking. As a sweet touch, they gave me a complimentary glass of bubbles for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Attended the 'Summer Wine Dinner' at Mia Marie recently, and in short what a treat of great food, great wine, great service all resulting in an excellent experience I'd do again and again. Brief talk before each course by the wine maker, chef, and owners explained what, why, and how each element fit together. It was delightful! This is about my 4th 'wine dinner' this year; all with west coast wineries that have been hosted at various venues in both San Diego and the Atlanta, GA area. While some of the wines at other venues have been good, none has matched the total overall experience of Mia Maria. Dinner was a scrumptious 6 course affair all paired nicely with various Mia Marie offerings, including one or two yet to be released. (I may have come home with a few bottles of those!). Food portions were really nice so by the time we were done we weren't stuffed. This has been a problem with similar events where I think they feel the more food the better it is; not so I say! I'll attach the menu for the evening along with pictures of each course (most in focus ... lol). I will definitely keep my eye out for the next dinner and will certainly be one of the first to sign up! We visited this winery recently and had a concerning experience involving our dog. We arrived with our dog safely secured in a stroller. Shortly after seating, a staff member repeatedly approached and attempted to pet our dog without asking for permission. We clearly and politely informed her multiple times that our dog is not comfortable with strangers and asked her not to interact with her. Despite those repeated requests, she continued to approach and touch our dog. Our dog showed clear signs of stress and discomfort and eventually barked to create space. Only then did the interaction stop. While I understand this is a dog-friendly winery and guests may enjoy interacting with animals, basic consent and safety boundaries must still be respected--especially after being explicitly told not to touch or approach a dog. I did reach out to management afterward. I appreciated the response, but I was disappointed that the responsibility was partially shifted toward dog owners to manage the situation more carefully, rather than fully acknowledging that repeated verbal boundaries were not followed. For dog owners: If your dog is not comfortable with strangers, be aware that staff may still attempt to interact even after being told not to. I would recommend being very firm and physically prepared to block interactions if needed. I hope this feedback helps improve staff training and ensures safer, more respectful experiences for both guests and their pets in the future. read more

This Vineyard is a hidden gem! I loved the views and was able to catch the sunset while I was there. Too bad the pizza guy wasn't there, so we shared a charcuterie board instead. There was a guitarist setting the mood, a bench swing in the distance, and I roamed around the property while waiting for our flight of wines. After a day at the Safari Park, we made a reservation at Mia Marie Winery, and the setting was absolutely stunning. Perched on top of a hill, the winery overlooks a gorgeous valley with mountain views, and they had live music, which added to the ambiance. Our group of six did a wine tasting, which was reasonably priced at $25 for five tastings. It was nice that they offered non-alcoholic options for me since I'm pregnant, and they even served it in a wine glass, which made me feel like part of the experience. That said, the service could have been better. Instead of pouring for us, they brought out a single glass to be shared between four people, and we had to pour our own wine. It felt a bit stressful to divide it evenly, and it would have been more enjoyable if the staff handled the pours--both to ensure accuracy and to keep the wine fresh instead of sitting and warming up. It also lacked the usual experience of a tasting, where they pour one by one and explain each wine in the moment. It may have been because we were there at the end of the day, but it felt a little rushed. Despite that, the views were incredible, and the wine selection was solid, with most of the wines being quite nice. I would consider going back, but I'd really prefer if they adjusted their tasting process to be more guided and interactive rather than self-serve. We booked a wine tasting at Mia Marie for a team builder and had a wonderful time. The venue was extremely accommodating to fit into our schedule. The vineyard is nestled in the hills of Escondido which offers spectacular views of the region. We were there late afternoon and it was all very pretty with the sunlight and shadows. The venue itself is very suitable for small and large crowds. There is ample parking and clear directions to the tasting area. Our team tasted a variety of wines which were all unique and delicious. Recently had my first visit here on a Sunday afternoon. I have some friends that really enjoy this spot, so we went along with them. I believe someone in our group had made a reservation, and we were sat quickly. We weren't given any menus or a QR code or anything. We saw a menu on a different table and grabbed it because no server had come over after a few minutes. When she did come up, she just asked if we were ready to order. Maybe they get lots of regulars, but I feel like they should at least say hello and ask if we were familiar with their wines or had any questions. Over the course of our time there, we shared a few bottles. Our server never came over to check on us. We had to wave her down each time or go up to the bar and ask for something. It just seemed really unclear how things should work. The wines I had were all right. It is a really nice patio and view, but the service could use some improvement. The service was a bit slow and we had to get up to find our server when looking to close the tab but overall still had a great experience. I was in between one and two stars but decided on two because the ambiance is great. This is a beautiful location, the live music was fantastic, and everyone was very nice. After taking all of the positives for account our experience was not what we expected. This was our first time at this winery and we asked if we could split a flight between myself, my friend, and my husband to taste five different wines so we could decide on a bottle. It took an hour and a half to get three tasters and we finally gave up on waiting for the server, so we went up to the counter to get our last two and cash out. Getting one taster every 30 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately we will not be back. read more

This vineyard is located on a beautiful property on top of a mountain. They appear to only have outdoor seating so dress accordingly depending on what time of day you decide to go. We got there around 1. They accept walk ins but we made a reservation. The staff is so incredibly nice and great at making suggestions based off what you like. The view is really nice, i wouldnt say breathtaking. Also depending on where you sit, you wont really get to see the whole view. Its very mountainous and beautiful. We got 2 glasses of 2021 falanghina and shared a "charcuterie" board which was just a packaged boars head meat and cheese tray. The wine was delicious and we felt it after just one glass. The meat tray was good but nothing special. Overall, we had a great time here and i would definitely come back. If i could change anything to elevate this experience i would get better seating, and better options for charcuterie boards that doesnt involve a package that I can buy at Vons. read more

My friend and I enjoy heading out to some of the local vineyards on weekend afternoons. We have some regulars, but also enjoy trying those that are new to us. That makes Escondido, with all its wineries, a prime destination. We had been thinking about heading to Mia Marie for sometime now, as we learned about it from a friend of the owner. So, on a warm Saturday afternoon, we rode up the windy, hilly, Hidden Valley Road to check out Mia Marie. We had made a reservation the day before for 2 PM. Once we arrived, we waited a few minutes to be seated. We were led a cozy table with a view, with two Adriondack chairs and an umbrella. The view was lovely. It wasn't so much a vineyard view, but more of a view of rolling hills with mountains in the background. Once seated, our server came out and gave us an overview of the menu, and let us know that we would receive table service. She also informed us of the pizza truck that was there that day. As it was a very hot day, my friend and I tried several of the whites and rosés but none of the reds. I liked some of the wines better than others. I did feel that the pours for the glasses were a little bit on the small side. My favorite wine of the afternoon was the Tempranillo Rosé. The pizza at the food truck that was there that day was delicious, and hit the spot with the wine. Outside food is also welcome, and some people had brought picnics. Several people were there with their dogs. They also has a small party area where a group was celebrating a birthday. By around 3:30, most of the tables were taken. Service that had been excellent, definitely became slower. They had live music for a couple hours.. The volume was perfect as we had background music, but it did not interrupt our conversation. All in all, we had a lovely afternoon. I would like return on a cooler day to bring our dogs and try the reds. read more
