Yelpers rated this restaurant high and I don't know why. Upon entering, it is dark with outdated décor, and is uninviting. A patio was available but it after 8pm and raining, so I was not willing to dine outside although I love dining al fresco. The server was pleasant and attentive. The menu selections are plentiful and a few items jumped out at me which needed modification for me to consume such as the mussels, lobster ravioli, and pan seared scallops risotto. I selected the scallops risotto and was so dissatisfied. First of all, I was served dry white rice mixed with vegetables and sauce on the side. I asked for the scallops to be cooked through, and the server used the word well-done. I have never had a dry risotto and the scallops were dark as if there were blackened. I sent it back. My sister had lobster mash with jumbo shrimp and swordfish. The lobster mash looked and tasted odd but she loved it. The shrimp weren't jumbo but colossal and they looked disgusting but she ate hers and my nieces. The swordfish was very tender and had lots of flavor, that I liked. My niece had Mia's Medley which comprised of sirloin tips, bacon wrapped asparagus, jumbo shrimp, roasted potatoes and stuffed lobster tail. The shrimp were not jumbo but colossal and gave them to her mother because of a past bad experience with colossal shrimp. The lobster tail was stuffed with something that resembled mush so she scraped it off and enjoyed the lobster. She said the bacon wrapped asparagus was okay but when she unwrapped the bacon it did not look fully cooked so did not eat more. The sirloin tips were covered with onions, she did not feel like muddling through the meal any more so she had the tips and potatoes prepared to go. I received another order of dry white rice mixed with vegetables and sauce on the side, and the scallops were prepared to a lovely golden brown. Although the scallops were good, this dish lacked flavor and by the time I received it my dining companions were finished their meals. I ate some, but had the remainder prepared to go, and it did not re-heat well. We traveled nearly 40 minutes to reach Mia Regazza of Marshfield and I am so sorry that I found the restaurant on Yelp and drove us there. I was upset with myself for wasting time, gas, money, and subjecting my taste buds to such a disappointing meal. Also, the restaurant should use better descriptions of its offerings so that patrons receive exactly what is specified on the menu. I would never return and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Beware: there is no such thing as free refills on soda As they keep refilling your glass you assume that like all others restaurants it is free refills Not! Very disappointing Designated drivers need to pay attention to the bill u r charged for every soda Not good business read more

Great atmosphere inside or out. Friendly staff. Water one table is nice plus. Food was good and good portion sizes. Wish additional wine options were posted more visibly. read more

I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant! The supreme chicken salad is amazing. We went out the other night and again amazing service.

Eat dinner at Mia Regazza last night. Had the scallop Risotto they were very good also had Red Sangria very tasty. My friend had Steak Tips and said they were delicious. Our waitress KYM was very prompt, friendly and overall a great waitress. We did not have to ask her for anything or wait for her to return to the table. Will definitely go back. read more

This meal was mediocre at best. The bread was stale, dipping sauce was tasteless. Our entrees were bland. The fish and chips French fries had been sitting under a warmer for so long that they were hard. The pizza (margarita) crust was soggy. It's a nice decor and the staff was nice. They keep a bottle of water on your table which is nice. But all said - we won't be going back. read more

The service is okay. The food is NOT good and it's definitely not Italian-inspired. From the apps to the dinner. There isn't anything appealing about any of the items on their menu. I've returned more than a couple of times and have tried various menu items, but I am disappointed every single time. It's unfortunate. The Tavern wasn't great, but it was better than Mia Regazza. It's ok. Eaten there several times. Food is average pub fare and overpriced. The atmosphere is pretty much non-existent. The location has the same decor and feel of the previous restaurant. I would suggest eating at original location if you must eat at Mia Regazza. The one thing both locations share is the worlds worst bread. Stuffed mushrooms appetizer was awesome. Calamari appetizer was good. Nothing special. Husband got meat lasagna and loved it. Got the broiled seafood casserole . It was alright. It was in a sauce. Can't see how it was broiled. Also the scallops were sandy. The waitress was having a bad night. Had to repeat requests. multiple times. Such as could you get us utensils. Also the girl pouring our water was like a bull in a china store. Surprised she didn't break the glasses. Cisco were made very well! read more

In a word...EXCELLENT! We've always loved the food at the Abington location, but the Marshfield restaurant has been renovated beautifully. We've never had a bad meal, or even a mediocre meal, at Mia Regazza. The entire staff is personable and attentive, which makes for a wonderful dining experience. The bartenders make a great martini and they actually pour a full glass of wine! You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Congrats on the success of your new location...don't change a thing!!! read more

We love this place for a quick lunch or dinner. Service is great and the portions are huge. My favorite is the Lobster Caprese Salad!

We had reservations and when we arrived asked for patio seating. When they said we had to wait a half hour, we opted for a window seat overlooking the patio AND saw at least four empty tables. Service was prompt, meals were oversized and less than average taste wise. Right after our table was cleared, our server brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. I have eaten in many restaurants and never had that happen. There are far better restaurants in the area. Try those. read more

For a restaurant that features Italian food this place is only average. The quality of the food itself is about what you get off the shelf in a supermarket. The antipasto was very disappointing; lettuce was barely fresh, had what looked like a little tuna from a can, few pieces of cheese, no olives!, few tomatoes. Seemed like it was thrown together in a rush. The lasagna was the near the worst I've ever had. The only good thing about the place was the bar selection. If you really want good Italian the neighboring towns have much better quality. read more

Excellent food and ambiance in the new Marshfield location. This should be an excellent rating but the kids menu has a real problem. Nine dollars for a child's pizza and nine dollars for a hamburg pattie. Their drinks were $2.50 each and a side of fries was $3.50. That's $26.50 for two eight year old kids to eat. No prices were listed on the kids menu. I know the owners respect their customers as evidenced by the quality and portion of the product. They should review the children food program to be fair to all their clintel. read more

I heard about Mia Regazza from family and decided to take my friend there for his birthday. The decor was really nice, but the dining room was very noisy. They had signs everywhere advertising "free wine with entree and if you paid with cash 10% discount". Our waitress came right over for our drink order. We thought this is going to be a good experience. It was not! We ordered an appetizer and dinner. The bread was delicious and warm. Our stuffed mushrooms arrived. They looked and tasted like they had been reheated multiple times. Our dinners arrived. Place heavily (with a bang) on the table by the server. Finally we flagged down our waitress for our 2 free glasses of wine. Used app. plates, glasses and bread basket with oil + cheese left on the table. It was quite crowded. We both had veal dishes which came with a steak knife? Thought that was kind of odd, but I soon realized the knife was needed to cut the tough veal. While talking and eating, we were approached twice to asked if we wanted to box up our leftovers. We were still eating! We had to flag down the waitress again, for our bill, which I paid with cash. When the waitress came back with the change, I noticed 10% was not deducted and we were charged for a glass of wine that should have been free. I talked to our waitress and she said she would get it fixed. She came back with the bill adjusted but no cash refund. Since the refund was approximately the tip I was going to leave, I told her the difference was hers. We just wanted to leave. My friend and I were both sick later that evening. Great servers (I think ours was Dawn?) but there was a pretty clear lack of engagement/politeness from the host area upon both entering and leaving the building. Food was good but I had a bug amongst the lettuce in my wrap. No big deal, the item was removed from our bill when I pointed out the issue. We visited for the first time for lunch on 6/22/17 after anxiously anticipating the opening. I really liked the changes in decor from the previous restaurant (The Tavern) and the comprehensive menu (albeit-if you're indecisive, you will be challenged in a good way!) We sat at the bar and our server was very friendly and helpful in making recommendations. Ultimately we ordered the boiled lobster and the chicken and sausage Mediterranean. The lobster was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying mixed vegetables and potatoes were very fresh and tasty. The chicken and sausage dish was flavorful. We would highly recommend both and will definitely return for the service, ambiance and food. read more

Open for just three weeks, this restaurant is doing a fine job. Management very accommodating for outdoor table set up. Sheila our server was terrific. Food was delicious and plentiful. Just had diner here with five family members. Nice establishment with a great menu. The food for the most part was very good; portions generous and prices to match. It was a Tuesday night so they seated us immediately. Our waitress only had one other table from what we could see. It was a bit of a wait to get our food and bread was subpar while waiting. Everything is ala carte, so it was just conversation and drinks while waiting. Again the entrees were very good: chicken parmigiana, Verdiicchio, Alfredo, and marsala, veal parmigiana and duck risotto. The biggest complaint was the service. Our particular waitress was very lax on checking on us for drinks or if we needed anything after dinner was served. The side plates were not cleared before dinner came out so there wasn't room to set the plates ( a pet peave of mine) Also, food runners brought the entrees and didn't know where anything was going. Another pet peeve. Then the piece de resistance was 20% gratuity was added for 6 or more. Which we didn't know so we added 20% which our waitress didn't deserve. So we went back to argue for our additional tip which they agreed to but the waitress was talking trash about us when my husband went back in! She never even thanked us for the additional tip! Last night me and a friend went to Mia Regazza in Marshfield, we choose that location because of my high opinion of the Mia Regazza restaurant in Abington, I was so very disappointed. Besides the food which I will get too, I was upset because not only had I suggested this restaurant to my friend but I had told many other friends of how good it was, albeit I was basing my opinion on the Abington location, which I have frequented many times over the years for both special occasion dinners which included 10-15 people and just the simple out to dinner with a friend, but it was always at the Abington location. When I arrived at the Marshfield location my friend was already seated and the first comment she made about the restaurant was, 'the bread is stale', I was surprised to hear that, because I've never gotten stale bread in a restaurant. We ordered a spinach salad to share, the description on the menu sounds delicious, we received a salad drowned in salad dressing, even though we had requested they go light on the dressing, the pancetta was so overcooked it was like having little rocks in the salad, and there was a tremendous amount of walnuts, we hadn't ordered the salad because it had walnuts. We both ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer based again on my recommendation, I have gotten this many many times in Abington and it's incredible, what we received in Marshfield were shrimp that were soggy, overly breaded in a coating that was falling off the shrimp, frankly it was a soggy disgusting mess. When the waitress came by to ask how everything was I told her, not so good and then I described the soggy, overly battered, falling off the shrimp in my shrimp scampi and how the shrimp is normally served (in Abington) I felt I had to express my comments because I used to work in this industry, and I believe, being a new restaurant, they need to hear feedback from their customers. So I should not of been surprised when the owner came by, again I described to him my soggy, overly battered, falling off the shrimp in my shrimp scampi, I told him it was disgusting enough that we were (both) scraping it off. I also told him that I've been to Abington many times, gotten this dish many times and it's never tasted like this. He asked me if I wanted to have the charge removed from the my bill, and I said no, I told him I just thought you'd want to know what your kitchen is presenting to your customers. Next thing you know he brought me out of fresh dish, this time made with less coating, it was better but it still wasn't great, I found it funny that he replaced my dish but did nothing for my friend who is sitting there (as i was talking with the owner) scraping off the same disgusting coating from her shrimp in her scampi appetizer! In the end we paid our $88 bill and left unsatisfied and unhappy, on the way out we commented to one another, they could've at least bought us a drink or offered us a dessert, but they didn't, and to me that meant they really didn't care so much. I won't be recommending the Marshfield location ever again. read more

My husband and I live on the south shore and often love to eat out, especially after working all day in Boston. We wanted to try Mia Regazza in Marshfield as we heard great reviews regarding both the food and service. The service we had from Patty, our waitress, was outstanding. The food ranged from ok to inedible. My husband's cacciatore was standard fare and the sauce, while somewhat flavorful (ok, sausage, peppers, onions and no pancetta although included as an ingredient on the menu), was really heavy and a tad overpowering, yet somewhat bland. I ordered a daily menu special, the duck served with asparagus risotto on a bed of spinach with brocollini as a side. The duck was ok, slightly overdone. The brocollini was fine. The risotto (I love risotto) was completely inedible and totally ruined everything on the plate. It was regular white rice with overdone asparagus stalks and GORGONZOLA cheese chunks. Not at all appetizing flavor combos and the gorgonzola was not mentioned AT ALL on the menu description. The taste was grossly overpowering, tongue shattering, and destroyed the meal. Thank you Patty for the extra glass of wine and for being a professional, but the chef (summer college help??) should turn in their apron and toque and never set foot near a stove again. On top of a pretty bad meal, the screaming--and I mean running around and screaming--children at the next table were a bit hard to take. We are parents of 3 children and 2 grandchildren and would never, ever allow that behavior to disrupt a pricey meal of other patrons. Uncalled for. We will not return and would not recommend this location. read more
