Fun atmosphere and a great local bar option! In a small town, it's hard to find a place for good apps and drinks without driving to the waterfront or Duxbury, but this spot delivers. My go-to drinks are the Mudslide and espresso martini--so good I even brought my 89-year-old grandmother for one and she loved it. Staff has always been kind and welcoming. Bonus points for having gluten-free options (like wings if you ask), which isn't easy to find around here. Decent clam chowder too! Gotta go 5 stars. West End Grill is a great spot to stop for a full meal, sandwich, appetizer, pizza, and/or desert. Nice selection of options to choose from. The food is nicely prepared and has always been fresh. Service has been spot on every time we've been there. Lastly, this place is very clean. Very noticeable that they pay attention to things. I wanted take out as I was too busy to cook. I had never tried the West End Grille in Kingston, so I ordered from them. I was not disappointed! In fact, I was sorry that I'd never eaten there before. I ordered steak tips with rice and a vegetable. Each item had been perfectly seasoned. The tips had a pleasant marinade, and the rice was also seasoned such that it stood out on it's own. Uninspired to go order. Small portions (5 asparagus spears) and just one meatless entree, one app, two sides, I feel like this was a waste of money. Down $62 with gratuity. And tipping on to go orders is always a leap of faith. Our waiter Tom was great. He was friendly and always made sure we had something to drink. Our waiter brought some fresh rolls and butter to start which was good. For appetizers we got the pulled pork poutine which was delicious. (It was my favorite thing.) We also got the dumplings which were equally amazing. My husband got the burger although it was a little messy to eat I think due to the bun there were no other complaints. He got a loaded baked potato as his side. I got the special they were having which was steak with a mushroom sauce baked potato with broccolini. The only complaint I had was the broccolini was a tad salty but that could have been my fault I didn't see that they were using a flakier salt and I lightly salted it as well before tasting it. Bar pizza was okay, linguica cheese pizza. Excited to try but it fell short in my search for the best South Shore Bar Pie.

Good take out bar pizza, no laced cheese crust and limited toppings but a solid bar pizza if that's what you are looking for! I'm new to the bar pizza scene but this is the best spot close to me in Kingston. They have bar seating so without adding in plastic dividers the tables are placed next to the bar so you are facing the people you are with vs. the bartenders, which is completely fine. I'm just very happy to be able to sit back at a bar. I went there by myself that day and ordered a glass of wine and the steak tips. While I was there, the place filled up quickly, the bar area but again it was socially distanced so there was no problem with it filling up. They have the QR code (if that's what it's called) so you can get the menu on your phone. I was kind of craving chicken wings but I didn't see that on their menu so that's when I went with the steak tips. After ordering I noticed they have chicken wings on their dinner menu and the bartender said you can order those, even though it's lunch. Good to know for next time. The only downside thing for me is when it came out with 3 steak tips, albeit it they were big ones, the plate looked sad to me. They also weren't as tender as I would have liked. I literally ate every bite of what I had and was still kind of hungry when I left so if it was a man who orders that meal, they better order chicken wings too. They have some photos on their menu that look great, such as risotto and scallops which is my favorite meal to order when going out so I will go back with my better half and try some other options. I was traveling in the area and really wanted some bar pizza, as it had been well over 20 years since I had some!! Yelp brought me here and it did not disapoint! Had dinner there on Saturday evening. Both had burgers which were just OK. Felt very rushed. The atmosphere is fine, a bit loud. The bar was packed and people seemed to enjoy themselves there. We've had take out pizza here a couple times. They know how to make pizza and I recommend that you try that. read more

West End Grill is a nice, big restaurant in Kingston located in the Stop n Shop plaza. The food's goof, the servers are mostly young providing good service, and the parking's free. They've got a big menu and the pizza is good, bar-style. Never had a bad meal at the West End Grill. Good place. read more

The waiter was quick to answer questions but missed the mark. We asked if the olives were fresh in the Greek salad, did not write down our order and delivered a Cesar instead, no olives. Menus were dirty enough that the pages were stuck together. Could not find a beer list and asked for our fav. Being a sports bar you would assume there are a few on tap but when asked the waiter recommended a number of non alcoholic ciders. Based on her recommendation we tried a maple old fashioned. Bar over did the bitter and citrus, maple non existent. Tacos, most prevalent flavour was the lettuce as it's nice and fresh. First time at this location. Been to Randolph location a few times. Service was excellent. Waitress was one of the nicest and most attentive we've ever had. Food was good although pricey. Calamari was 50% peppers. Had to really look for the actual pieces of calamari. Little disappointed there. Tips and stuffed shrimp were very good. Ambiance was nice. Sat in bar area. Would be a great spot to come and watch the game. Acoustics/sound was very loud (so much so that I received a decimal warning message on my Apple Watch), but that's probably my biggest complaint. They had lettuce shredded cheese from stop and shop across the way and what looked liked a $tree fish nugget of some sort!!! Cheese wasn't melted so my daughter asked for it to be and when it came back there was a 2lb choking hazard of stretchy cheese! Gross horrible uneditable food! The restaurant itself was really cute but the food was really average. My plate came out and the food was cold, and just really bland in flavor. My husband got a chicken sandwich and his chicken was burnt all the way around, the buns were really hard too. It was overpriced for how mid-tier the food was. Very average. Only waited about 20 minutes to get a table. The Guinness was not in a Guinness glass which is always a let down :( Other than that the food was okay. The Buffalo wings are extra spicy. I love wings and they were too spicy for me. The calamari is heavily breaded and fried. A little heavy. The Parmesan truffle fries were actually delicious. That was my favorite part of the meal. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice, it was didn't go over the top for me. We did get pizzas to go and they were really yummy! Ordered takeout for my family and was told the food would be ready in 30 - 35 minutes; this was good news because my children were hungry and it's about a 15 minute drive. Upon arrival (35 minutes after ordering), approximately 7 people were waiting on takeout and several people complained they had been waiting for over 10 minutes. There is no adequate place to stand and wait for pick-up orders and the hostess simply asks your name and tells you to stand in the entrance/exit of the restaurant until further notice -- this results in massive congestion. 48 minutes after I ordered the food and 13 - 18 minutes after I was told it would be ready, a woman came to verify my name. Cool, thanks. Minutes later, my food was brought to me. WHAT IS MOST Disappointing was when I had called in my order I asked the salad my wife chose be served without onions because she is allergic, only to be told when it was handed to me the salad cannot be made without onions. Not only is this unacceptable at this stage in the process, but I was then told that she had meant to call and tell me but had gotten too busy.
