I stumbled upon Miam cafe one day and decided to go eat breakfast there. We ordered the pancakes with a croissant breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were absolutely amazing, they were everything you want a pancake to be. The pancakes are thick and fluffy and completely delicious. The croissant sandwich is good as well but the pancakes steal the spotlight. The pricing here for being in the heart of the gables is great. If you're ever in the mood for pancakes I would definitely recommend this spot. They have a few pastries laid out and they look really yummy. The one thing about this place that is annoying is that you have to buy bottled water. read more

We had the organic omelette, pork mini sliders, almond milk cappuccinos, and the açai bowl! All were and amazing! It's a small restaurant. Cute ambiance. What's not cute is their prices and the manager. The manager was up charging every little thing I asked for. The pancakes were good. The avocado toast was okay. When I asked her for her name she didn't want to give it to me. I asked another employee what her name was and she was like I can't speak for her. Makes no sense. The breakfast pancakes at Miam Cafe are to die for!! They are so fluffy and match perfectly with Nutella and strawberries. Aside from a delicious iced americano, I got the "sweet and sour" plate that included the fully buttermilk pancakes, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. My only complaint about this meal is that they only gave one piece of bacon and it was not crispy at all. Other than that, the potatoes were absolutely delicious and the eggs were cooked exactly how I asked. The location is amazing, as it is in the heart of Coral Gables. Great ambiance; we went on a Saturday at 1:00PM and there was not too many people. Service was quick, you order and pay at the front and wait for the food to come to you. Would recommend! Stopped in on a Friday afternoon for brunch. They have an amazing assortment of sweets, moderately priced. Place your order at the counter and they bring it out to you. We had the pancakes, eggs Benedict, guava cheese croissant, and a latte. The eggs Benedict were good although the Hollandaise didn't seem authentic. It had the consistency of mayonnaise but the flavor was pretty good. The eggs were perfectly poached and side potatoes were really good, crispy and fresh. The pancakes were delicious and well priced at three for $9. The guava cheese croissant was also really good. The service was okay, not really great since they never checked back with us once they brought the food out. In all fairness, that may be standard when you order at the counter and seat yourself. I am not one to complain about food or service, but I went to eat with my girlfriend at this place because the restaurant "looked" interesting and the food was eye-catching. After we arrived there were so many people in the place that we had to stand and wait for our order. After we ordered "take out" the delay for our order to be delivered was one hour and 33 minutes. I know this because you have to pay for parking. When they gave us the order, while the description on the menu sounded great, the item itself was not that great. We reviewed the order and left because we wanted to leave the place after waiting more than an hour. When we went to try the food, the meat was raw and had no flavor. The chicken that my girlfriend ordered was dry and dehydrated. The worst culinary and service experience I have ever had, plus they charge an extreme amount of money for such food. Cashier seemed baffled by the menu, asked how the avocado toast came because the text on the menu is too small to read and she couldn't read it either and also didn't seem to know. Husband had a question about the pastries and again the staff seemed uninterested in answering. We ordered coffees, some bottled sparking water, avocado toast and a burrito. Service was fast and presented for instagram. Avocado toast was soft snd covered in cress which I would have asked not be added if I had known. My husband asked for a glass of tap water 3 times. Eventually we thought perhaps the issue was a language barrier so we asked in Spanish which prompted a different server to come and tell us we must buy water. We highlighted we had bought sparkling water and just wanted a glass of tap water, the request was declined because the water "isn't filtered". Wonderful presentation, terrible service. If you want ice water they give you a tiny disposable cup. They drop the food off and never stop by the table to see if everything is ok and if you need anything else. They lose a lot of extra sales due to this fact. Been there several times and it's always the same. It's priced like a high end Cafe' and has service like Dunkin' Donuts. Sad, it could be soooo much better.
