Chicken and steak fajitas with onions and bell peppers

It was our first time trying this restaurant, located at 10215 Park Road, Charlotte, NC, so we were excited. When we walked in, we noticed the decor was nice. It was better looking than most of the Mexican restaurants I've been to. We didn't get a pleasant greeting. It felt very "What are y'all doing here?" She wasn't rude or nasty, but it was just the look and vibe we got. We were seated, and it took forever for a server to come and take our drink and appetizer orders. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn't. There were only four tables with guests, so I couldn't understand why it took so long. Finally, the server whose name was Zoe came to the table to take our orders for drinks and appetizers. Not once did she apologize to us for the long wait. We just let it go because we were hungry. We got our drinks and appetizers, and I must admit, they were good. We got martinis, sweet teas (they were out of lemonade--it was 12 noon), and water. We had chips, salsa, queso, and guac. They were all good. The guac needed a little seasoning, but it was good nonetheless. Zoe came back to the table and took our orders for our entrees. We finished our appetizers and drinks and waited forever for our entrees. When Zoe finally brought them to us, there was another young lady with her who was presumably shadowing her. The constant looks she gave us, as if she didn't like us or as if we did something to her, was just not a good look or feeling. She didn't smile or anything. I don't know if it was a cultural thing, but it wasn't nice. We didn't say anything about it and just anticipated eating our food, which smelled amazing by the way. We all got the fajitas and noticed that all of our steaks, onions, and bell peppers were overly charred. We ate the food without ever mentioning it. We never addressed any issue the entire time we were there. One thing I can say, Zoe seemed to be nice, but very out of touch with the table. She didn't monitor the table to notice when our drinks were low, so that she could bring refills. Upon finishing our entrees, she asked if we would like dessert. Only one of our party did. When Zoe took the dessert order, she never informed my family member that the dessert came with ice cream, and the ice cream was runny because it hadn't frozen despite being in the freezer. She just brought out the chocolate brownie/cake, and my family member asked her, per the menu, whether her dessert came with ice cream. Zoe told her it does, but she didn't bring her any ice cream because the ice cream wouldn't freeze in the freezer. We all felt that's something she should've conveyed at the time she took the dessert order. She brought out a bowl of ice cream on the side, and it wasn't frozen at all, just as Zoe said. We requested that the dessert be sent back or removed from the bill. Zoe stated she could see about discounting the dessert, but not removing it from the bill. We told her we wouldn't pay for it since the ice cream that came with it wasn't frozen. She then said she would comp the dessert because if my family member didn't eat it, and she removes it from the bill, it will just get thrown away. Again, Zoe was very friendly and she wasn't disrespectful at all. She had a warm smile and was very easy-going. So, I applaud her for that. I plan on returning to give them another try because the food wasn't bad, just overly charred to the point that the steak looked like beef jerky, and the chicken was dry as sand. I may not return to that particular location, but I can visit one of the other locations they have, as this one isn't an atmosphere I prefer.

Costa Del Sol's Park Rd. location is enormous. They have live music with a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays... on Saturdays there is dancing too. There are a bunch of televisions for you to relax and watch the games. The service is good, a little slow but overall still good. The food is above average and the drinks are good as well. Our favorite were the birria tacos which were some of the best we had in Charlotte. The meats we got on our skewers and for our ribs were a little over cooked but was still nice and seasoned so was still enjoyable. I would recommend this place for a nice date night or guys night out to watch sporting events. They do also provide takeout.

Found a honey comb Mexican hideout Restaurant yesterday. Now let me explain why the 3 stars ? I liked this place but wait time takes away from the actual food itself . When you enter it's a few photo ops out front and when you enter the restaurant it's a flower arch before entering thats really cute . They have a cute bar area that's good for watching the games etc on the wide screen placed in front of Costa del sol. Our waiter was awesome , but geesh the wait time on every time we would order anything was ridiculous. Order a drink it comes out 30 minutes later & the food even later . So Id say that's something this spot really needs to work on . Not to mention the complimentary chips n salsa they bring out the chips were stale. Once we told him he brought us out a fresh batch . Our food was simply amazing . I ordered the fried chicken w/ fried green bananas & cabbage salad , I was not expecting it to be so massive especially for only $10! It was a mouth full of explosion of yessss! My friends dish was packed full of flavor as well . With them working on wait time this is a spot I would come back to & patronize again.

I noticed a new restaurant in the old Tin Tin location so I had to check it out. The food was outstanding and the service was great! It's beautiful inside and it's big enough to spread people out in the the time of COVID-19. I'm not going to list a whole lot of things "you have to try" because all of the food is fantastic! I will give you a hint that they really specialize in Central American food (Costa Rican/Salvadoran/Honduran/Nicaraguan). They do have Mexican food on the menu and it's very good but why not try something a little different than every other Mexican (usually Tex-Mex) restaurant on the planet? The two things on the menu that I will mention are the Carnitas (totally legit!) and the pupusas - very nice! Pupusas are a Salvadoran specialty which are out of this world good! I think more people need to discover what they have been missing! They bring fresh tortilla chips and house made salsa right away. They don't have their alcohol permits just yet but they will have a full bar and several taps for draft beer. They assured me that they would have some very nice margaritas soon. I could use one about now! My advice is to try this place soon. You won't be disappointed!

This is a new Honduras Latino restaurant with food flavors that are just fantastic! The only way I can describe it is 'smooth! ' It's not too much of any direction... it was Just right ! Not too spicy& not too sweet. The flavors were just delicious. Delicious food, fantastic customer service, fun music and atmosphere that will keep you tapping to the beat ! Soon they'll have a license to serve adult beverages and then it's gonna be crazy busy ! Just know this - there is Delicious food served here !!! So So delicious !! We will be back .... Their dessert menu is full of yummy desserts! The Passion Mango cheesecake is so good you'll wanna slap someone. Served with a slight warm yet cool combination that brings the perfect balance of flavors & sweetness . Definitely two thumbs way up! Don't miss this place !

The food was uneventful, the servers although friendly they were exceptionally bad: forgot everything, took orders incorrectly and at the end didn't know how to split the bill by $ amounts... we had to tell her how the POS systems works. Please mind you, We all speak Spanish so it wasn't a language barrier. The oyster were warm, my fish were salty, the pupusa was good and the Hondurian empanadas were also good, the prices overall were fair and the portions are big. I posted a picture of the left over which was like half of the plate. That would be the only positive. We told them three times where each$ amount for each card and they still messes it up and didn't ask if they were in doubt then said they couldn't fix it, no refunds allowed or didn't know how to and made excuses and told uS we had to figure it out between ourselves like " tell them to give you cash"... There are other places you can find authentic food with better service. They are in need of better training and better cleanliness in the restaurant as well, there a lots of flies way too many for an air conditioned restaurant. I would return or recommend anyone coming here.

I kept driving past this restaurant on my way to the gym for the past three months. I finally had the opportunity to stop in and was blown away by the fun and inviting decor. They have a lot of great TVs set up and a great bar in the center of the restaurant. The menu is incredible with pages of food. I had just finished at the gym so I've decided to grab the chicken fajitas and a skinny margarita, but I can't wait to come back and try the enchiladas as well as many of the other dishes that they feature. This restaurant seems to offer food not found in a lot of other Mexican restaurants I have eaten out in the Charlotte area. I think that if you like Mexican food, you need to stop in; I think you'll really be glad that you did.

I have been meaning to come here for a while. My friend and I were pleased with the ambiance even before you walk in (sorry I have a video of the backdrop but can't upload video on here). The place is humongous and we were one of 3 tables there. Costa Del Sol specializes in Honduran and Salvadoran food but also has some Mexican favorites such as tacos and enchiladas. We ordered a combination plate and also an extra pupusa. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge! Will def come back again.

But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.

If you're looking for a spot with a high-energy vibe and a killer aesthetic, Superica in South End…read moredefinitely delivers. I visited with a friend on Cinco de Mayo, so as you can imagine, the scene was absolutely chaotic. The wait was a staggering hour and a half, but Superica handles crowds like a pro. They have an outdoor bar and a grill setup serving: * A limited taco menu * Chips and Queso This was a total game-changer. It's a genius move that keeps the "hangry" at bay while you soak up the South End atmosphere. Once we finally scored two seats at the bar, the service remained impressively steady despite the holiday madness. * The Vibe: 10/10. The restaurant is beautiful and definitely fits the trendy Charlotte mold. * The Food: To be honest, I wasn't blown away. Given the hype and the stunning decor, my expectations were sky-high. The flavors were "decent" and felt like a solid performance, but they didn't quite hit that "must-return" level of deliciousness. * Portion Sizes: Huge! I couldn't finish my meal in one sitting. Here's the interesting part: The food actually tasted better the next day. It traveled well and the flavors seemed to settle in overnight. If you can't finish your plate, definitely take it home. Is it worth the South End gas and the hour-plus wait? For me, I'll probably stick to my "old faithful" spot up in the University area for my routine taco fix. However, I'm willing to give Superica the benefit of the doubt. It's hard for any kitchen to be at its absolute peak on Cinco de Mayo. If I find myself back in the neighborhood on a quieter Tuesday, I'd give it another shot just to see if the food can live up to that gorgeous interior.
