Stumbled upon this place tonight. The restaurant is extremely clean and the service was excellent despite the language barrier. The menu is in Spanish and the waitress spoke little English so that was fun challenge. The food is decent. They don't have hard shell tacos - I ordered my husband steak tacos and he didn't like them. I got a quesadilla and it came with white rice and beans. The quesadilla was decent. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have queso dip.

Outside might not look like much but this place is a gem for home style Puerto Rican food. Their tamales were rich and delicious. Great place for breakfast

Went back to Rincón Latino and tried the Mojarra Frita this time. Server was very nice and attentive. This place is so good, I'm updating the rating and adding the fifth star. They even moved further down the strip mall and now have a bigger space!

If you want a great local spot to eat at in Northlake, this is it! I have lived in the Northlake area for several years, and this is the most authentic, well flavored food I've had in the area. The owner is passionate about every food item on the menu and provides fantastic service! You can tell he loves what he does, and I love to see it! The servings are large and packed with flavor. The tortillas are homemade and so freaking delicious. I got fajitas (as pictured) and my boyfriend got the baleada. The menus have an English side and Spanish side. You can sit down and order at the table, or call in an order to go. When you are ready to pay, just walk up to the window and you're all set! We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!

Food is amazing and authentic! Big portions and affordable! Very attentive staff. It's a plus if you speak Spanish. Definitely a hole in the wall and those are the best places. Would definitely recommend. Had so many good leftovers. Going to be a new spot for me, for sure!

I never knew about this place until I drove by it and saw it was a Latino restaurant. It's in the cut so you wouldn't really notice a Latino restaurant unless you're looking really hard. I decided to give it a try since I like going to lempira. The place is really small with 4 tables. The staff is super nice and are fast. I got a horchata but it didn't exactly taste like horchata. Tasted kind of watery with a cinnamon flavor. I got 2 baleadas and sopes. Everything tasted really good and it was hot and fresh. Definitely recommend giving this place a try they would not disappoint you!

The pupusas were amazing! In a less frequented part of town but definitely worth the trip to find this hole in the wall place.

We came with our toddler, and they were very accommodating, asking if we preferred a booth or a table since we'd be clipping her high chair onto the table. Mood inside is dimly lit with Miró prints on the walls. A number of groups there that night were celebrating birthdays, so it was definitely a good vibe! We all ordered sangrias, 2 of the Miró (red) sangrias and 2 of the passion fruit (white, sparkling) sangrias. All were so delicious! Amongst the 4 of us, we split the paella de carne, gambas al ajillo, mejillones, and pulpo gallego - this was the perfect amount of food! The warm rolls they provided were so good on their own and even more amazing when dipped in the shrimp and mussel sauces. We ended the night with a flan, which was nice and caramel-y. Service was friendly, and they did speak Spanish, which was a bonus for us. I'll definitely be returning and recommending to others!

And because it specializes in Tapas and shareable dishes, it's also a great spot to meet up with friends. But whoever you visit with, you'll leave with a new appreciation for Spanish cuisine and a strong desire to book your next dinner reservation as soon as possible. On a recent visit with friends, we started by ordering a wonderful selection of small plates to share: the savory Croquetas, the mouthwatering Empanadas, the Fried Calamari, and the Vieras a la Parmesana, a delicious dish of baked scallops. For my entree, I ordered a dish of the Seafood Paella, which was solid, but a bit underwhelming. The meal was paired with a wonderful bottle of Spanish Red, and a relatively decent Old Fashioned. We enjoyed Miro and will definitely plan another visit, but were honestly disappointed with the service. Our waiter wasn't exactly rude, but he was definitely impatient with our group as we tried to decide between the relatively unfamiliar selection of small plates and entrees. It won't stop us from coming back, but we might spend a little more time reviewing the menu online before arriving.

You could tell they were very busy, so it took a while for a host to come and seat us. Once seated, it then took a while for a server to come to the table. Natalee eventually dropped by with some water, and admittedly let us know they were short staffed for the night. However, after she greeted us, her service remained attentive throughout the course of our meal. Now for the food, everything came out quickly, but one by one as it was ready. The roasted beets came first, which I expected because it was the only item we ordered that didn't need to be cooked. The pistachio butter and goat cheese really complemented each other well. Then came the empanadas and croquetas. Both came out piping hot, so we had to let them sit before trying. The stuffing inside of the empanada was very flavorful, and the croquetas are some of the best I've had in the city. Lastly, the calamari, shrimp, and mussels came in succession. The aioli served with the calamari was delicious and the breading was perfect. My friend ordered the shrimp and mussels, which I didn't try, but both were sizzling upon arrival and she thought they tasted great. Our drinks came in between the food items and while they were good, my friend had to send hers back due to the lack of juniper berry. When Natalee returned with the corrected drink, my friend was able to taste the difference immediately and finally enjoy it. As for my drink, I'm not big on dry red wine, but with the added components, I could barely taste it. We both thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and we will be back! Additionally, this restaurant does validate parking if you park in the attached garage on the side with the ticketed entry. If you use the QR code to prepay, they will not be able to refund what you spent, so be wary.

The bar area was busy but we managed to snag two seats on the side without too much trouble -- seat yourself setup. Here's where it gets a little mixed. My partner stepped away to use the restroom and I sat there for a while while one of the bartenders walked back and forth past me, clearly focused on closing duties, without so much as a glance or a menu in my direction. Not the worst thing in the world but when you're sitting at a bar alone it's hard not to notice. Fortunately another bartender came over, clocked that I was just sitting there unattended, and immediately smiled and handed me a menu before taking both of our orders. She turned it around quickly and that kind of awareness goes a long way. Shoutout to her. I ordered a 3oz pour of Syrah -- pretty decent, did the job. We didn't order food so I can't speak to that. The overall vibe was chill and low key for a late Friday night, which was exactly what we needed. Would come back for a proper visit earlier in the evening and give the food menu a real shot.

After one meal here, we understood why. Calle Sol has a cool laid back vibe, great service, strong mojitos, and food that absolutely delivers. The ceviche is the star for a reason. Super fresh with bright flavor, and the crispy plantains alongside it were the perfect seafood fish combo. The skinny spicy margarita with the tajín rim and mojitos were excellent too. Our favorite was the Cuban rice. Rich flavor with this aioli on top that made everyone at the table keep stealing bites from each other. The vaca frita (beef) had great flavor with crispy edges done right, and the banana tres leches dessert was flat out dangerous. Easily enough for three people unless your family has zero self control. We don't really have Cuban food like this back home, so this felt like a treat. Safe to say our daughter picked a winner. We'll definitely be back next trip to Charlotte.

We love their Yuquitas de Queso as an appetizer. The yucca is very crispy, with delicious melted cheese inside. The green sauce they serve it with is exceptional, and we use it with our entrees, too. Sadly, this dish wasn't available on our last visit, so we switched it up and tried their black bean soup and half avocado stuffed with chicken. Both were delicious, so I'm glad we had an opportunity to branch out a bit. For our entrees, we typically get the Vaca Frita and Lechon Asado. Both meats are always tender, flavorful, and NOT overly salty (yay!). The Vaca Frita is particularly good, with crispy beef served on top of caramelized onions. The lime flavor is amazing in this dish. The rice and beans are perfect accompaniments to both dishes. Their portions are generous, and we usually take some of our meals home. We've always had great service at Calle Sol. We never have to wait long for our food, either. I like how the servers work to help each other out when busy! A note about parking--there are only a few spots directly in front of the restaurant, so you'll be lucky to get one of them. There's a public parking lot just down the street on Thomas (across from Dish), and street parking throughout Plaza Midwood. We often park on the street near Harris Teeter and Supperland, a quick walk to Calle Sol. Just give yourself extra time to find a parking spot if you arrive during busier dining hours. Well can't wait to return!

This would probably not be problematic except we were on a schedule and had to get my man back to his conference. We ordered the charred corn fritters, tandori spiced cauliflower, the Mediterranean avocado bowl, and the Peruvian chicken bowl. It was probably 15 minutes before the server came back to tell us that they were out of chicken bowls. We then ordered the Moroccan pie. The fritters came out first. Incredible. There were crunchy and chewy and full of flavor. They sure set the bar high with this one! Unfortunately the rest of the meal was inconsistent. The cauliflower was cooked well and had a nice spice, but was lacking maybe salt. It was still good. The avocado bowl- avocado was fresh; the olive brine was interesting, but offered the seasoning that was needed; the quinoa, tomatoes, and onions had no seasoning or flavor at all; the feta and tzatziki were good. Individually, nothing was particularly great, but eaten together it was tasty. The Moroccan pie was also good, but heavily sweetened maybe with honey and dusted with powdered sugar. This wasn't in the description. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty, but overall pretty sweet. When it came time for the check, again, service was slow. We managed somehow to get done with a few minutes to spare. The inconsistency makes it difficult to want to come back. But those fritters get all the stars.
