Well, I had a taste for potstickers... so I ordered a salad with ginger which was good. Beef teriyaki.. which was ok, lots of fat on the beef but it was ediable. NOW... the potstickers..... i opened them up first just to see the filling and immediately said, what the hell is this. It looked like an old piece of mushroom or something. The food was good for Asian food in Abilene. The chicken lo mein was very good. The sweet and sour pork was good. The pot stickers were not very good, very little taste, and was pretty soft. Absolutely enjoyed the food. We got the duck curry noodles and the beef flat noodles. Food was fresh and flavorful and exceeded expectations. I usually go to the thai place other part of town but will take more Trips here too on the future . We initially got only one boba tea, but it was good enough that we got a 2nd. Mian is an instant classic. I've sampled six or seven of their dishes, stuff I had eaten before at other places, but Mian's take on each dish felt fresh and bold. This is easily the best Asian food in Abilene for the price, and the staff were all friendly and professional. Come for the ramen, which features a really rich and tasty broth, and make sure to add an order of their hot, crispy cheese wontons and some mixed greens with ginger dressing. You also can't go wrong with the Cantonese egg noodle! This was an unexpected gem while traveling through West Texas. The spicy Udon bowl has great flavor and was served in a very large portion that easily could have served two grown men. Although I've been stationed in Abilene for about 4 years and I've purposely waited to review this. This place is the best place in Abilene to get sesame chicken. The chicken texture is what it's supposed to be, more meat than outside crust. Not like some places, that's vice versa. Found this place while craving Asian on our way back from an 8 hour trip from El Paso to Fort Worth. Me and my family absolutely loved everything! I ordered the chicken curry with white rice and loved that it was flavorful with tender chicken and not oily! My mother in law ordered the chicken pho and loved it, while my father in law and boyfriend ordered the orange chicken and the WHOLE family ate off their plates because we love how crispy and red the orange chicken is. It is definitely different and I recommend it! We unfortunately don't have a a place like this in Fort Worth so we are all looking forward to coming back this way and visiting again. This is in a small shopping strip next to Cordell's. It's a mix of Chinese and Vietnamese food. I ordered the ginger salad, lemon pepper wings, and sweet and spicy fish. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was not too tarty. The lemon pepper wings had plenty of lemon, just not enough pepper. The fish was very flavorful and i'm not quite sure if it's a Chinese or Vietnamese dish, but overall I enjoyed every one of the dishes. For the price and value it's a no brainer. It is 30 degrees out and we're halfway through a 12 hour drive through Texas. I decided 50 miles out from Abilene that Pho would be awesome, and found Mian Bistro on Yelp. This place is awesome--the Pho has very thin sliced beef and the broth is flavorful. It was perfect. The service was excellent and the restaurant has a clean, modern feel. I highly recommend stopping here for something fresh and different, even if you are headed west on 20 (it will seem a few miles off the beaten path, but worth the detour). read more

We tried Mian Bistro and found the food to be good, but no better or worse than any other Asian restaurant in town. I had the Hunan duck, which was tasty, but served in a dark sauce. Most Chinese restaurants that serve duck do not simmer the duck in a sauce, which is why the skin is always so delicious and crispy. Because this duck was simmered, the texture of the fried skin was lost. My girlfriend had the Lo Mein, which was very good, but about what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant in small-town Texas. The pot sticker appetizer was my favorite dish. They must use tapioca flour or something similar because the texture of the dumpling--which was steamed and then pan fried--was perfect. At the time of writing this, Mian Garden does not accept any debit or credit cards; it is cash only. We had to travel to the bank down the road and the surcharge was ludicrous. I do wish the restaurant had notified me of this prior to me coming to pick up the food I ordered. read more

I had won ton soup cause I have been craving it. Cream cheese wontons, delish! Ordered the orange chicken and it came with white rice and broccoli. The orange chicken was so good. Had enough for lunch the next day. Tip: the orange chicken is not like panda Express and that is because panda express is not real chinese food. The orange chicken here is authentic and tasty.
