This is my first review and its not a positive one. It's unfortunate. I have been here several times and the baked goods are great with no issues with the service. Today, customer service's no good. I have asked for the bill and wanted my daughter's cake wrapped to take home. I waited 20 minutes after I asked for the bill. And yes I checked the time because I was checking on the next G train to LIC. I got up with the cake in hand and asked for the bill and to wrap the cake. I shouldn't be walking around with the cake in hand or wait a long time for the bill. I could've walked out without paying. I will continue buy the baked goods to take out but I will not sit in in this place. read more

I was desperate for a last minute custom birthday cake. A friend recommended Mia's so I decided to sent a last minute request through the email form. I was surprised when Stamatis emailed me back immediately knowing that it was past midnight. Not only he answered all my questions but he promised me that the cake will look great and it will be delicious. When my colleague went to pick up the cake she sent me some pictures and the result was absolutely fantastic! And everyone who tried the cake loved it. The salted caramel cake had a perfect balance between the flavors of the vanilla cake, the chocolate cake, the cream and the caramel mousse. Thank you Mia's for making my cake a huge success! All their desserts are amazing! However, they need to be more organized with orders. This is the second time I ordered on a holiday. Great service, the line was long but the people behind the counter were very helpful and quick with any type of question I had to ask about my order. I was in a hurry and did not know what to get, until the lovely lady Fernanda helped me come to a decision which was a chocolate croissant and a nice hot chocolate. She was beyond helpful, although I cluttered her up with a bunch of questions, she answered each very politely and with a huge smile on her face. I will definitely be back soon. read more

This is one of the most cute and many different pastries cafe that I have ever been to. My favourite dessert over there would be the blueberry cheesecake and the key lime cupcake. The blueberry cheesecake was kinda of a disappointment because there was not enough blueberries so they should add more berries next time. Got a fruit tart last night and I was not disappointed! It had the perfect amount of sweetness all around from the custard filling to the fruits. This sweet delight was placed on top of this delectable crust. The crust had a hint of lemon flavor and enhanced the tart overall. I will be back for more! read more

This place is pretty good. For some weird reason they have the same cakes as Marthas bakery. Not sure if they are baked in house or mass produced by some outsourced company but anyways I Stopped by on 3 different occasions. Parking is terrible and dnt even think about standing at the bus stop! The tres leches cupcake wasn't good to me. The hazelnut dessert was very good. Tasted like a ferrer rocher. The creme brûlée is EVERYTHING!!! lastly the nutella cupcake wasnt good at all. Didn't get where the "nutella" part came in. The people working are very nice. Tends to get crowded with out of towners and the crowd that calls whole foods a bodega. But otherwise its a nice place :) read more

Found this place online as I was looking for a cake for a Bridal Shower,seem to have good reviews so I gave it a try. The cakes that I received was absolutely amazing however when I got there they claimed not to have receive the order that I placed online while an associate was on the phone. Instead of waiting for the cakes I originally ordered I ended up getting some from he displays. I will give this place another chance only because the cakes was beyond delicious. I ordered a birthday cake here over the phone at 9a pick up at 4p. They told me they usually require a 24hr order time but was able to have one ready for me (thank you!) Receive the cake, it was amazing! Spelling of the name was correct - Awesome :) My only complaint is that the young lady on the phone had a hard time taking my credit information but what ever, I bet she will get it right next time. Overall super satisfied and the 10inch Chocolate Mousse Cake was delicious and there was left overs for 4 days and the cake still tasted fresh! Thanks so much!! read more

This place is all quantity over quality. They have an extensive & impressive menu, however not very tasty. I've tried it a few times, trying to find something I like, which has proven unsuccessful. You're better off going just across the street to Bien Cuit or the coffee shop Konditori that gets pastries locally. read more

Found this hidden gym while hanging one day on Smith Street doing some shopping. If there is a cheat meal you could ever have, this is the place for it! The bakery is down to earth, very friendly staff and will assist you with selecting the best dessert. This has become the go to place for my girlfriend and I and oh, not to mention, they are open till 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Our favorites have been the key lime pie (tart and pie), cream brulee cupcake, cheesecake and of course their iced cappuccino. Highly recommend. read more

The slowest service ever. The staff clearly doesn't care and whoever hired them needs to be replaced as well. Hire better staff. They make us customers wait 5-10min on line when we just want one or two simple things. They have their backs turned consolidating fridge product and doing other useless things making us wait longer. I've been frequenting Mia's Bakery for over a decade and it has been our go-to for pastries and cakes for meetings and birthdays at work. This last experience will have us taking our business to the other great bakeries in the area. We stood in line on a late Saturday afternoon to be greeted coldly by a women in her mid-20's, white, cropped/shaved hair. She snapped at us that they sold out of one of the items we asked for without asking if we wanted something else with so much unprovoked hostility that cannot be taken personally or seriously. My experience as a manager in the hospitality industry finds that workers who hate themselves and their lives are usually on their way out, which hopefully will happen for the sake of this establishment since it only takes one bad egg to sour the business as a whole to any patron unlucky enough to be served by a miserable employee. read more

Perfectly light, not overly sweet, and a perfect crunch to the crust. Banana nut pound cake: it was okay, had a strange flavor to it.. Not sure where it came from. Spicy chai tea latte: it was OK. I feel like it could've used more flavor. The barista asked me if I wanted it to be spicy or neutral, which I wasn't sure what that meant because chai is supposed to be spicy to some extent. Wasn't spicy at all. Very soft, too soft to say the least. And slightly watery. But just okay. Didn't try too much but I would definitely come back to try more. read more

Mia's catered desserts for our wedding in Brooklyn. Everything - and I mean everything - was beautiful, delicious, simple, and reasonably priced. Stamatis and his team take pride in their desserts and their work! He took the time to meet with us and listen to what we wanted, and our cookie/mini pie/mini tart table for our wedding was exactly as we pictured it :) He replies to emails within a day (usually sooner) and the price we paid was a bargain for the service and the food, seriously. We compared prices with a few other bakeries in the area and Mia's was almost half the price, and for such high quality. Highly recommend! read more

Found this place while walking around looking for something sweet with the misses. The salted caramel cake was good; the frosting was sweet and of a thick texture and the cake itself was like a delicious pound cake. The Oreo cheesecake was not overly sweet, which is what we liked. We also purchased a maple bacon version of their cronut, which looks pretty good. The whole cakes are decently priced. The pies looked great. Didn't spot a pecan pie, though. I had the carrot cake. It was AMAZING! moist cake, with the perfect amount of raisins and walnuts. The Frosting was light and fluffy. I also had the rainbow cookies, which were the best rainbow cookies i've ever had. I can't wait to go back.
