I will begin by saying I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews posted here. My wife and I recently purchased a new travel trailer from Michael Hohl RV in Carson City and received professional and courteous service from the sales, finance and service crews. The entire process was painless and efficient. Our sales person (Scott) was very knowledgeable about their inventory. He was thorough in explaining the features of the travel trailer we were considering. He was very helpful and friendly and was never pushy. The same goes for the finance manager (Jeff). He didn't twist our arms to buy supplemental products and did a lot of legwork to get us an outstanding interest rate. The service crew was outstanding. We were provided with the most thorough walkthrough we have ever received when buying a new RV. Because there is so much technology in the new units, I had a multitude of questions, but the young man who assisted us (Aaron) was very friendly and patient throughout. We discovered several problems that were fixed on the spot immediately. We had the wrong hitch for the unit as well so the service crew adapted our hitch with a new part which they discounted by 40 percent. They didn't have to do that. A lot of reviewers have complained about Michael Hohl providing preferential treatment to customers who purchased their units from them. That is a universal practice in this industry and is not unique to Michael Hohl RV. As a matter of fact, the Rockwood literature we received when we purchased our trailer had a message from the manufacturer advising customers to buy locally because licensed dealers are not obligated to provide service. I'll end by saying the entire crew at Michael Hohl treated us well. Based on our initial interactions, I anticipate that we will continue to receive excellent service if we need support in the future. read more

I purchased a part for my RV which I live in full time with my disabled husband and three year old niece. I am having a hard time financially and the part was faulty and already not working and it's not even one month old. I tried to return it and the part service center refused to exchange it for a new part. I now have no water in my trailer and can't afford to purchase another part to fix the water. Micheal Hohl RV is heartless and won't help me and we are in the middle of a pandemic where hand washing and cleanliness is of the utmost importance. This is a terrible business and I want every one to please be careful because if a 50 dollar part is more important to them than the health and welfare of a family, they don't serve their customers they only care about money. Just want to thank Joe for making it right. I appreciate your kindness and professionalism. I put a $1000 deposit down and had to wait for several months for the Camper to come in. They called said it was here and I told them I'd be down the end of the week. I get there and they sold it out from under me. I waited months and they can't wait a week. REALLY POOR customer service. You can always grind every dealer in all surrounding states for every penny, that's when all you get is the deal with horrible service. I had Michael Hohl RV put in a new fridge in my rv. Within a few months, the fridge didn't hold a charge. It took a few months to schedule an appt -they claimed coil was bad in fridge and replaced-I took my van out for a weekend with a useless fridge and brought it back (took a month to get appt for my warranty-non fixed issue) where they claimed my fridge was fine and cold (nights were 14 degrees) I promptly went out and checked my fridge, which was cold in the 25 degree weather-and freezer-which had NO FROST-meaning-it was broken! I asked if they had been checking the freezer-um, NO. They than claimed that my batteries were weak- I had them replaced at my beloved Performance Auto Center next door when I first noticed the fridge not working in June. I told them-DO NOT TOUCH MY VAN-went out to drive it to Performance----but-due to 12-15 degree temps with no plug in on my diesel motor for over a week -It was dead. Performance came over, jumped my van, drove to their facility, it took 5 days before they could get to my van-check the batteries (awesome) charge (awesome) and alternator (giving a charge)-and no charge. Bad experience from the beginning. They don't return calls, they don't return texts. Finally went to the north Carson store on my wife's 50th birthday and we found a trailer we liked. Kept texting sales person to tell them we wanted it had a down payment, just needed financing. They never got back to me. Had to call them and finally they answered so I got a new sales person. Submitted documents had an agreed on price and still they delayed sending documents to the bank. Then I get a call that they are so sorry but they sold it to someone else. What a crock of s*#tt...! I just bought an RV (30 ft trailer) from Hohl RV. After attending an RV trade show in Reno and visiting several RV dealers (we looked at a lot of trailers), I'm convinced I made the right choice. The entire experience with Hohl RV went very smoothly from start to finish. Our salesman, Josh, showed us everything we requested and made some excellent and straight forward recommendations to ensure we found something that exactly met our needs. His conscientious efforts resulted in our purchasing of a two year old Travel Trailer. The walk through on delivery day was the final step. I was truly amazed and pleased with the thoroughness of their Service Dept. What a great job they did in prepping the trailer and extra kudos to our service rep, Nestor, who did such a professional job explaining everything. We were treated like this was a brand new trailer and he made sure everything worked perfectly and to our satisfaction. I couldn't have been happier with the delivery of this trailer. As I sit here sweltering at 93 degrees inside my new 2013 ITASCA SUNCRUISER because the thermostat can't find zone 1, I wish I had paid more attention to the people who warned me against this dealership. You would think that a $100,000.00 motorhome would have features that work. The first time I took it on the road, the levelers failed. When i returned to the dealership, they sent me to a repair shop that did not know how to fix the levelers, but tried to fix them. That shop doesn't work on thermostats or roof air. The dealership made me an appointment for a month and a half down the road, by which time air conditioning will probably not be needed. The thermostat will still not work, but they don't care. They have already sold the rig. Oh, I failed to mention that I am a full-timer and live in the rig, recovering from a broken neck! Not happy with my new rig, or Michael Hohl! read more

We found working with Michael Hohl RV to be worth it for us. We did our homework on the trailer we wanted, made ourselves knowledgeable about the types of fees different places tack on, asked a lot of questions, and by being patient with our purchase we were able to make a deal locally at Michael Hohl that saved us almost $4k over the life of our loan compared to Turlock. Our salesperson was patient, responsive and transparent with us, and stuck with us no matter how many questions we had. Additionally, their interest rate using Mountain America was the best we found, and we did our own homework on that as well. read more

I have taken my RV in for warranty work twice and both times repairs were spot on. Joe is one of the most knowledgeable RV specialist I have run across in years. The other advisors there are not as personable as Joe, but I have only had an issue with being waited on without being at least acknowledged while they finished paperwork. read more

On our maiden trip in our Minnie Winnie that we purchased from Hohl RV, our stove burners weren't working and we called Joe Conroy in service for help. He mentioned a couple of things that we had tried with no success. Make a long story short, Joe drove out to Clio, Ca (from the dealership in Carson City!) where we were staying and found the problem. It was a kinked gas line under our coach which he suspects may have been caused by our slider. It was amazing watching him take apart our stove and climb under everything (including the coach) to diagnose the problem. Needless to say, we are impressed by Joe and his great customer service! The sale process was easy, sales staff was friendly and we got a pretty good deal on our trailer. But once the sale is completed............don't expect anything from these guys. We have owned our trailer for 15 months, and it has sat in the service dept for almost 5 of those months. They mis-matched our couch after the first one fell apart. Now we have a couch that is light tan in a trailer full of dark chocolate brown furniture. I have also uncovered several lies that the warranty admin and service manager have told me regarding our trailer and the repair process. They like to blame the manufacturer for delays but when I spoke with the warranty dept at the manufacturer the timeline of parts ordering and communication from the dealer is completely different. It's a shame that the service dept is run so poorly, we love our trailer but we will be taking it over the hill for any further warranty work. read more

I bought an RV and had my walk through with Jordan. What an awesome guy and mechanic! During my walk through Jordan took his time to let me know everything! When we came across an issue he did not hesitate to fix right then and there. What could not be repaired he wrote it down to be repaired for later at no charge. Jordan is very knowledgeable when it comes to RV's!! I am schedule to come back later for the repairs and because of the service I received from Jordan I am going to have them change my oil and DE-winterize the RV this spring. Went to the parts department to get a simple thermostat for the water heater in our travel trailer. I offered the year and make of the RV, the woman at the counter, very rudely informed me that she couldn't look up the part that way. I also told her I have a picture of the part, only to bring on even more rudeness from this angry worker. Funny thing, I got the same part in Reno three years ago at Paramount RV, the guy found the part inside of two minutes - looking it up by year and make of the RV I'v e never been able to find a brand name anywhere on the heating unit - today or three years ago. The woman at Hohl RV found is easier to be rude and unhelpful than to look up the part. You can bet I will never do business with an outfit that hires people such as that angry counter person. One star is too high a rating for this place. read more

I agree with the other reviewers in that I would prefer to give 0 stars. They decided to host a show. I got off work early to go with my wife. We called from the road to double check the time and they stated they were available until 6:00. We got there at 4:55 and the lot was empty. When I followed up with customer service, I was told they went home to dry out. They were surrounded by places to get out of the weather and watch for customers (including the RV used as a Sales Office). I find it intriguing that a business that sells comfort in weather would close the moment it rains (it rained for 5 minutes, we checked with a nearby business still open). Michael Hohl RV service center is a farce. Not only did they fail to correct a problem with my Winnebago when it was under warranty, they refuse to acknowledge the real problem after the warranty ended. I highly suggest you do not purchase, nor take an RV in for service there. read more

Very poor customer service! They tried to charge me 3 hours of labor for a job that takes 30 min of time. They seem to be using their hourly rate as a service in of itself. My wife and I went to Hohl's RV service on So. Carson. We talked to their warranty manager, Chable. We wanted to get some warranty work for our new toyhauler. She said she never heard of our trailer manufacture company. She also said they only warranty trailers that they sell. I went on their website, in which they said they honor all warranty work, and service all makes . I called her back to tell her what it says. She said she didn't know who wrote that, but it was incorrect. She would only warranty the ones they sell. There was more, but you get the gist of the attitude that is there. I would never trust our home on wheels to people like that. read more

This is by far the WORST dealership I have ever dealt with in my life!! Listen to the Yelp reviews! They are totally true!! We Bought our travel trailer at the RV show at Cabelas. We were a little skeptical due to the terrible reviews on here. We should have listened to them. All the negative reviews are totally true, once the sale is final they don't care about their customers! We had some work that needed to be done so we waited a week to pick it up and none of the repairs were done right! Half of the stuff we requested never made it on the work order to be repaired! What should have been an awesome, exciting, amazing experience was completely ruined by how mad and disgusted we were with the service and follow through on our trailer delivery! Stupid comment of the day. Wife and I just left the RV Sales on N. Carson. When inquiring about the 2015 Winnebago Tour, salesman said it was locked and stays that way until customer talks price and financing. In other words, you have to be stupid and agree on a price before looking at the rig. Duh?? Nevertheless, a walk around revealed slide out damage and a storage box door that wouldn't latch. They are listed as a authorized factory repair service for Forest River. We decided to take it to Michael Hohl, instead of taking back to the dealer. BIG mistake. They had our motor home for approximately seven weeks. When we would call to inquire about it, they said they would call us back. Never happened. We were told things by different people, only to find out, none of it was true. This was the worst experience ever. If you have a problem with your RV, or motor home, take it back to the dealer no matter the distance. WORST experience EVER. read more

But when we asked David Mutz if he could open a couple for us to look at he said "sorry, I don't have time for show and tell. I'm only here to help if you're truly ready to purchase." So needless to say we went somewhere else where they don't discriminate against people they don't think have the money to purchase a trailer. I was looking for a used class c motor home, and found one online at Michael Hohl RV. I called to set up an appointment to see the RV. We met with Scott who showed us through the vehicle. There were a few problems with the RV, not the least of which was that it was advertised as having a TV, but there was an empty space where the TV was. Scott explained that when they run across a tube TV, they take it out. So why did the online detail say there was a TV? There were several other minor problems, including very aggressive tires. The unit had been on the lot for 311 days, so Scott said they were anxious to sell it, but they probably wouldn't want to fix any of the problems. He said everything was negotiable and he would take our offer to his boss. We made an offer that was much lower than their sale price because of the amount we would have to spend on a new tv, new tires, new batteries, fixing a vent, etc. Scott said he presented the offer, and they didn't accept it, nor did they counter. Scott said the counter would be their stated sale price. So they really don't negotiate. Scott said his boss knew what they were into the RV for, and couldn't sell it for a loss. Needless to say, we walked away. Just because they made a bad deal is no reason we should. read more

Worst service. My motorhome was there for three weeks and they missed it all up trying to fix the slideout, oven and furnace. The coach was in worst shape after they couldn't fix anything asked. Never take your RV here unless you want nothing done. read more

I called the service department and made an appointment for repairs. The service writer, Miguel, was very friendly. Long story short, my trailer was at Michael Hohl for almost 5 weeks. Their communication was poor. When I called, I was informed my trailer was "almost finished". When I went to pick up the trailer (2016 Sandstorm) it was very obvious that no repairs were completed, yet the paperwork indicates they performed the work. I showed the service manager, Bob, the proof that the repairs were not made. He seemed concerned but didn't have a resolution. I do not, and will not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more
