    Pic taken at O'hare store: it looks like those 2 gold metal pieces were too heavy & kept making the glasses slip. Never happened to me b4.

    Any respectable company *knows* and knows very well that the return process should go just as smoothly as the purchase. MK company doesn't and it was very disappointing. i never purchased from that specific store at 900 N michigan (the one next to Gucci), as i get MK mostly from dept stores or online retailers including their website. i had purchased a pair of sunglasses i liked at O'hare before my 10 day holiday trip for $165 (duty free). i traveled with them and wore them a few times to find out they were a hopeless case: they kept slipping down, the lenses were too heavy and the design was just faulty. i waited to land in the US to return them at that same store but MK weren't at the terminal. i called the # on their website asking about their return policy and they said they accept all returns within 30 days with receipt. i asked specifically if buying them from the airport would cause any issues and they boldly said NO. i still called the 900 N michigan store and spoke with a girl who **confirmed** i could return them within 30 days EVEN if i got them from the airport. i finally showed up today at 6pm and happened to be wearing a MK handbag, my usual MK snake wallet from Nordstrom AND an MK criss-cross tri tone ring. i showed the girl the sunglasses with the receipt and a guy approaches me and says "we don't accept returns of airport purchases, that's wholesale". i responded to him with the info i provided above, and instead of apologizing for MISLEADING me and providing me FALSE information TWICE over the phone, he lazily turned to the girl explaining to her how to do the refund. He then examines the glasses (there was makeup on them, it's not like i tried to clean them to make them appear like they're new because i have nothing to hide), and he says "those glasses have been worn !!!!". umm.. yeaa... duh that's why i am returning them: they are defective. "yea but they have been reaaaally worn a LOT ! Like...we can't re-sell them !!". You can't re-sell them ? i don't care if you can or can't, you are the ones who created a faulty pair of sunglasses, and you should apologize for it instead of saying non-sense. Who is this guy ? i never have to deal with such rudeness at Coach or Neiman or even Macy's. i told him to check the date on the receipt to explain to him that his assumption (which felt like an accusation) was simply stupid. He made this face and made me feel like my presence was unwelcome and my return was bothersome to them. The girl who was courteous at first, then became unfriendly. i still said thank you and left. But one thing is guaranteed: Not only will i never step in any MK store again, i will stop buying this brand altogether. You charge a lot of $ for your products, it's time to invest on training your employees to act like professionals. That kind of behavior, i would expect from a corner sock shop, not from a brand that considers itself a "luxury brand".

One day I finally had time and went out of my way just to come back to peruse this store. Upon entering, no one greeted me, which is not a great start. A simple greeting can go a long way to acknowledge your customers and to make them feel welcomed. I slowly scanned each section, and I noticed at one point one of the employees came to the section I was ogling, but still did not acknowledge my presence. At that time a couple of ladies entered the store and were immediately greeted with "welcome in! Let us know if we can help you with anything!" I made my way around the store finally browsing the area near the register. The 2 sales people at the register never said a word to me. Other customers were coming in, some getting greeted, depending on their nationality is what it seemed like. In the end I spent about 20 minutes in the store and might as well have been invisible. Hopefully they learn to be better and greet customers of all colors. Three salespeople and not even one "hi" is not acceptable. In hindsight it seems that the employee that came up to the section I was at was probably to making sure I wasn't stealing?

    I recently visited this store with my friends, and we were treated absolutely unfairly. We were shocked, confused, and honestly embarrassed, in public for something we didn't do. They didn't ask politely or explain anything. They just assumed. No proof. No apology. nothing We cooperated and showed them we had nothing, and instead of admitting their mistake, they gave us attitude and let us go like we were guilty. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially when you treat young customers like criminals just because we're teens or don't "look" like your usual shoppers. We came to shop, not to be profiled or harassed. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone who values basic respect.

While this short poem pretty much sums up my 30-second visit at Oriental Boutique, it is also an acrostic that describes the lady's attitude and the service. I was looking for a traditional Chinese dress (i.e. Qi Pao) for my girlfriend, whom I am going to marry. However, most of the designs cater to kids or tourists (that might explain why most positive reviews were written by non-Asian customers... just saying!) and very few of them are for adults. As someone who grew up in an ethnically Chinese background, I had seen and worn more culturally authentic and better designed traditional gowns and dresses. Many designs displayed in the store seem "oriental" in a western sense or as in what westerners think "oriental" should look like, but this is just my subjective observation and honest opinion. The lady was on the phone all the time, and when I asked her question, she literally answered, "no photo, goodbye." Okay. BYE. NEVER AGAIN! Wish I could have given a zero or a negative number.
