How does this place have 4 stars? 1. The wait time is forever. There are like 10 people always ahead of you. So you don't get in on your actual time. 2. I got a mole checked out and they said we should take a little scrape to test it, little did I know- they were removing THE WHOLE THING. It came back fine, and they sent me a $250 bill. 3. My husband went and had a skin biopsy on his neck. They took a big chunk out and misdiagnosed him 3x. Giving him prescription meds that only irritated it more. = another large bill. These people are money suckers. They don't care about the patient. More so the patient's paycheck. Not a fan. read more

This is a fantastic doctors office! Its located in a huge modern medical complex and the office is clean, contemporary and inviting. My first impression was very good. The cheerful receptionist greeted me as soon as I walked in and gave me a few forms to fill-out. I was immediately lead into the exam room by Dr. Quint's assistant (I wish I remembered her name - sorry) as soon as I handed the forms back to the receptionist. I was super-stressed worrying about what I thought were some bad skin moles and she immediately made me feel at ease with her excellent conversational skills. Then Dr. Quint came into the exam room. Dr. Quint is one of the best doctors I've ever been to. Dr. Quint joined in on our conversation and I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. Dr. Quint quickly let me know that my skin moles were nothing to be worried about and removed them all in a few minutes. Unlike many Dermatologists that I've been to in the past, they didn't try to scare me into having unnecessary procedures or expensive cosmetic treatments. The check-out procedure was handled quickly by the same cheerful receptionist and I was thrilled that such a great doctor accepted my insurance. Worse dermatologist I ever seen. He removed 2 molls from my wife's chin in 1996. He used the wrong technique (stitches). Now she is 52 and I her face shows 2 holes between her neck an the chin. My GF's review: I don't post many reviews, but when something or someone completely blows me away I can't help but spread the word about it. Dr. Quint Skipton is definitely the dermatologist you need to see if you're suffering from huge cystic acne like I am. I came to Dr. Quint Skipton because I had just started Accutane and was having an "initial breakout" in which my skin was forming painful lumpy cystic pimples all over my face, I'm talking about like 15+!! I was feeling extremely helpless and depressed because I had an event to go to the following night, in which I would have felt extremely embarrassed to go to with my face looking like a pepperoni pizza, anyways, my regular dermatologist usually gives me cortisone shots and those pimples usually simmer down for a while before flaring up again. Unfortunately my regular derm is closed on Tuesdays and Thursday's and I thought I would give another dermatologist a go. Since my event was on a Friday, I came to see Dr. Quint Skipton on Thursday hoping to just go in quickly, get a few cortisone shots, look halfway decent for my event and be on my way, but boy was I wrong!! He came in and sat me down to talk about my acne and when I told him about the event he knew exactly what to do, he not only injected my cystic pimples but he EXTRACTED THEM, he popped them all, extracted all the icky nasty stuff and then injected them with cortisone. Though I was extremely skeptical that irritating my face so close to my event would make it look swollen and worse...it actually made me 100% better! He prescribed me some pills for the inflammation as well which I took, and honestly my skin went from extremely broken out and lumply (I COULDN'T EVEN WASH MY FACE AND WIPE IT ON A TOWEL WITHOUT GETTING BLOOD ON IT), to basically clear in 2 days. I went to my event that Friday night without having to worry about a thing on my face! Will be coming to this dermatologist again in the future when I've got weddings or Vegas planned and I have a pesky pimple in the way! Also to throw in another great thing, since I was starting Accutane and having trouble with my dry skin he hooked it up fat with the samples of aquaphor, cetaphil and moisturizer...awesome! read more

I have been a patient of Quint Skipton for over 10 years. He is highly skilled and has the best "bedside manner" in the medical profession. I've had moles and cysts removed and each time it was pain free with no sign of any scarring. He uses all of the latest technology and techniques. Since I am in the sun quite a bit, I get brown spots on my face in the summer... he has removed them all and even found some that I didn't even realize that I had and removed them as well. I have referred my daughter, my girlfriend and her two children to Quint and they have all been extremely happy with their results. I couldn't stand this guy. Yes, you actually get to see the doctor, but he's an arrogant asshole. I have really severe psoriasis, and he took one look at me and prescribed me a medication I've already tried several times in the past with unsuccessful results. I explained this to him, and even mentioned a few other ointments and creams that worked way better on my skin, but he insisted his first suggestion was the way to go. He also prescribed me this scalp ointment called Dermasmooth that basically covers your whole head. I've used it in the past, and it works well, but it's not a very practical everyday solution, as you need to cover your head with a shower cap and leave it on for several hours before washing it off. Dr. Tabibian instructed me to go through this procedure not once, but twice a day, and when I told him that I didn't think that was feasible due to the fact that I sometimes have to run errands and leave the house, he got all pissy and acted like I didn't value his medical opinion... which quite frankly, now, I don't. This guy is ridiculous. I think the other lady who reviewed him must have been lucky. I say don't waste your time. read more

Thanks to the stress of transferring schools and living on my own, I went from one or two blemishes to a whole lotta potholes and pus. And the thing about acne from stress is that it's cyclical. You see your face and you become even more stressed out. It doesn't help that Chinese families show affection by pointing out everything you wish they wouldn't. They only want the best for you, but askldjfgdf. You know what I mean? Before coming to this office, I had seen my school dermatologist and she went straight to recommending Accutane (or a version of it, since Accutane is technically illegal). Although I really wished to have those spotless faces seem in the after photos of post-Accutane patients, I was also equally scared by the horror stories of the medication's side effects. Because it was such an extreme recommendation, I went to look for a second opinion. In my first visit, I met with Dr. Michael Tabibian. I like how he sat down and really analyzed my face. He reassured me that he wouldn't recommend something so dramatic and he would exhaust every other option first. I was prescribed with a very complete cleaning regime with oral medicine. My follow-up appointments afterwards have all been with Dr. Quint Skipton. Dr. Skipton is also a great doctor. He was very upbeat when I first met him and he also reassured me. He kept me on my course and performed some pretty painful extractions, but his enthusiasm and friendliness made it bearable. Plus, no pain no gain, right? It's been about 4 visits in total, I believe, and my face has dramatically improved. Seriously. No breakouts anymore. My redness and scaring is slowly fading as well. All my relatives praise my improvement, including my friends (now I really know what they thought, haha!). Every. Time. My acne was just that bad. They often ask me what I did, and I always tell them about this office. For those of you looking for a down to earth dermatologist who is actually there to listen and help you, look no further. You must make an appointment with Dr. Quint Skipton. Over the last few years I have gone to various dermatologists that seemed to get me out the door after one or two minutes of consultation. Since I never saw the results I hoped for I was always discouraged to return. I first met with Dr. Quint Skipton a little over three weeks ago. I had some acne problems that needed to be addressed, and he actually took the time to talk, listen, and work his magic to get me on track to having healthy looking skin. In addition, I got a tattoo two months ago and I had an allergic reaction to the white ink. Dr. Quint already had experience dealing with other tattoo's that were worst off and made me feel at ease when he told me that mine wasn't as bad, and that he would make it better. He did some work on the tattoo and asked me to return in three weeks. I followed up with him yesterday and he was still as cool and attentive as the first time we met. Although only three weeks had passed, my acne and tattoo showed promising signs of improvement. I also had this pimple right in the center of my forehead that had been making my life miserable for the last three months. It's not that I let the pimple kick it there for fun people, I just couldn't get it out! So for the last three months, I felt like I had a third eye. When I told him about it, he pretty much took care of it in a few seconds. I will definitely be returning to Dr. Skipton and I encourage all yelpers to give him at least one chance. Nothing is worse than one of those doctor's offices that makes you wait 45 minutes to an hour for a two minute visit with an impatient doctor. Sadly, there are a ton of doctors out there like this. Luckily, this place isn't one of them. I saw Dr. Tababian at this office yesterday. Unlike many doctors, he actually took the time to explain to me what he was doing and to answer my questions. His nurse was really awesome too. And the front desk staff seemed pretty efficient. I only had to wait about 15 minutes to see the doctor, which is amazing compared to most medical offices. The only drawback is the parking lot that charges you a fee to park -- no thanks. You can find free parking down the street if you're willing to walk a few hundred yards. read more

He used be at a different practice and one day (3 years ago) I called that place and they told me that he was no longer there. WHAT!!??? I had to hunt him down because he understood me, he listened to me, he always took very good care of me and my skin issues. Thanks to Google, I found him couple of years ago and have been going to him ever since. My last visit was July 23rd, 2014. Dr. Tabibian "ambushed" me. On Fri, 05/18/2018, I step in for a skin cancer diagnosis on my cheeks and hands, within seconds of getting in the room and on the chair, before I even had a chance to understand what's going on I was treated with three "freezes", two on my face one on my hand, no question asked, No explanation of treatment or side affects, no authorization, not even the cost, not a thing. In less then five minutes I was in & out at the front desk and asked to pay for the "EXTRAS". First ever doctors visit that I felt abused. I felt more like in a salesman/cone artist shop then in a Dr. office I can only hope that the "freezes" treatment marks will disappear over time. I'm still in shock!!! read more

While the Dr Tabibian and his staff are competent and mostly pleasant, their billing company is the most unprofessional horror show I've dealt with in a long time. They have no idea what they do with the payments sent via the website. Apparently they do not get posted properly and their mistakes could end up with YOU in collections where their "agent" will hound you daily even though they know theres a problem with the account. I saw Dr Skipton Q. For an acne consult and botox. I am so impressed with him. He gets to the point and knew exactly what to do and prescribe me without any doubt or hesitation. I have seen a dermatologist in the past and she was not near as good. My PCP tried to treat me by ordering antibiotics and benzol peroxide which only dried out my skin. He said i shouldnt even be taking antibiotics. I feel like I am in such good hands now I only wish I had come here a year ago when I started breaking out. I am very happy with his recommendation and treatment plan. It has been 2 months since I went the first time and my skin has cleared up tremendously. I feel so much more confident and happy. He also only gave me 10 units of botox which is all I needed he said. Where as another doctor was ripping me off saying he used 40units. So I trust Dr. Skipton and he injected very well. Love Dr.Skipton! I have always had really clear skin, then about 6 months ago I began have cystic acne breakouts all over my chin. I found Dr. Skipton on Yelp and made an appointment. The office is really nice, clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Dr. Skipton took his time with me, explained how we were going to treat it, and made it perfectly clear that this was a race, not a sprint! He warned me that things might get a little worse before they go better. Fast forward to three months later, and I have my clear skin back! I've had three visits with him now and he's so great! First time visitor and now I plan on sticking with this practice for all my skin care needs and concerns. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Tabibian's practice and staff. Heres the run down on my experience... For me being a towhead with my family originating from England, naturally I'm concerned with my sun exposure, moles etc... playing soccer and surfing has given me a fair number of sunburns growing up. ( That's why they call us english, "lobsters" ha ). I called to make an appointment 6/25/14 and bam! I was able to get in to see the doctor on 6/30/14, how sweet is that! Most offices give you some BS scheduling 4 weeks out.... that doesn't do well for anyones mind having to waiting around. My appointment was with PA-C. Quint Skipton, since Dr. Tabibian was out of the office on vacation. I was told by the staff that he is qualified and I would be in great hands. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork for a new patient which was easy peasy, typical info regarding your health an family history. The staff was very friendly and timely when I had questions. I did not feel rushed like most practices out there. I ask a lot of questions... so if your like then you'll appreciate how this office handles that. The office was clean and modern and there was a flat screen TV in the waiting room, which was nice for waiting. What made it really sweet was the fact the World Cup was on and I was able to watch the game while I waited. How rad is that! I was seen on time for my appointment, didn't wait a minute longer that I needed to, Amy who is a doctor assistant showed me to the room and talked to me about what kind of appointment I have and what I would like the doctor to check out. She was sweet, friendly and chatted to me a bit about what to expect. I was told I was in great hands with PA-C. Quint Skipton. I was not let down one bit, PA-C. Quint Skipton addressed all of my concerns and proceeded to freeze off the questionable moles / skin bumps I was worried about. Me being the inquisitive type, I questioned him on some of the procedures and he put my mind at ease at the things that concerned me. I tend to worry about things.. but PA-C. Quint Skipton took extra time to talk to me in detail about my concerns I had about moles and skin cancer. Honestly... this guy is cool and is level with you about anything bothering you. I feel like one of the major things for me to look for in a doctor / specialist is how they treat you as a person and how they address your concerns and worries in their bedside manner. PA-C. Quint Skipton did that and more, he said any other questions I may have I can give him a call any time and he would talk to me about them. Everyone has different healthcare needs and people expect to be handled in certain ways. I wasn't mocked or ignored when I explained why I ask so many questions and that made me feel comfortable. My initial meeting w/Dr T was approx 5 months ago regarding my psoriasis. At that time, my previous Dermotologist had me on Otezla, which clearly was not working. Dr Tabibian did not hesitate to recommend a change of course, using a biologic injections, Cimzia. He was very thorough in explaining the treatment (pros/cons and such). At any rate, he started me on Cimzia and within 2 weeks (if that) I saw significant improvement . It's been the only medication that has truly cleared my psoriasis. I came to Dr. Skipton about two years and he fixed all my acne problems and I was extremely grateful. Fast forward two years later I started to break out again and I did not hesitate to find Dr. Skipton. His practice is still the same since I first met him. He is one of those hard to find doctors who focus on the patient and their well being rather than trying to milk their pocket (how my experience with other previous dermatologist would go). I always worried that my acne won't disappear but when Dr. Skipton walks into the room my worries melt away. The rate he charges is extremely affordable and he always give out freebies sample so that the patient don't do too much damage to their pocket. This is a LEGIT doctor. It has been about a week since my visit to Advanced Dermatology with Dr. Quint Skipton. I have had a chronic ear eczema problem for the last 4-5 months. It was pretty bad and quite discomforting. Finally I after a while off research and referrals I was directed to see Dr. Quint. I was very impressed and grateful for Dr. Quint's ability to help me out. He broke things down for me and made me feel at ease with my ear situation. And after one single treatment he was able to help clear up my ear! It is like if I never had anything wrong with it. And this is after trying a bunch of other options that clearly were not working. The staff was very kind and attentive to my arrival and Dr. Quint was great. Thank you for the great experience. Great physician's office: Large waiting room, and the staff is very helpful (with one exception, but I just ignored her and contributed it to her having a bad day). You actually see the doctor (not an assistant), and he took one look at the med my PPO-assigned MD had prescribed for me for the past 2 yrs and gave me two new meds and the condition cleared within weeks. I was also given a "save money on your Rx" card by one of the office staff to cover the steep price ($80 each) of the meds (but they worked, so I was happy). Lots of parking behind the building which is located right next to Los Alamitos Hospital. Dr. Tabibian has a great bedside manner, and gave this very blonde gal a good check for possible pre-cancerous skin difficulties. I only had a wait about a week for an appointment, and I was taken into an exam room with a minimal delay, so the staff is good at scheduling their patients. Rated as 4 stars because although his office is a subscriber to my health insurance plan, I had a pay almost $150 for all of the charges incurred (office visit, cost of all meds), but I went to him without the necessary Primary Physician Referral (my primary physician being the MD who had me buy lots of refills of a topical medication for almost 2 yrs that had no effect at all on my skin difficulties), which is my insurance company's stupid policy. I am a fan - Dr. Tabibian ID'd the problem and solved it in one visit (with one follow-up visit). I highly recommend this office. read more

Dr. Tabibian has successfully resolved several skin issues I have had over the last few years. He has had to remove tissue due to abnormal biopsies on suspicious looking moles and his work was exceptional and left minimal scaring. I had several moles on my back that I considered unsightly for years. Other dermatologist would not remove them. Dr. T removed them without hesitation and now my back looks great and I no longer feel self conscious with my shirt off! read more
