It was my Root Canal Appointment #3 with Dr. Wu, and he was carefully cleaning my infected canals within that big lower side tooth of mine. He was as patient and courteous as usual, and he and his decade-long assistant Lily were having friendly conversations with me as usual, and with each other. And it dawned on me how lucky I have been in the past 15 years to be with them and their warm receptionist/clerk. They have treated me as an old friend, and they have always given me, and my family, professional and reliable dental care with minimal cost out of my pocket, whether it's regular cleaning, filling, tooth implanting, or root canal. And, as my son's only dentist, they saw him grow from 5 to 18. Tooth pain could be nightmare to many patients who failed to find a trusted and dependable dentist. Due to some unpleasant experiences I've had in the past with a series of reckless and irresponsible mediocre dentists, I become very cautious when selecting my new dentist. My friend referred me to Dr. Michael Wu, with whom I had my wisdom teeth extraction, root canal, and crown. Absolutely the most wonderful experience, I can't wait to recommend Dr Wu to all of my family members and friends. What particularly impressed me were: 1. The incredible thoroughness of dental exam and treatments. When my wisdom teeth got extracted by Dr Wu, it happened instantaneously, and I could hardly feel the pain. My root canal tooth is next to one of the wisdom teeth, and it has 4 nerves, which made the treatment even challenging. Over the extended treatment period, Dr Wu demonstrated how the most skillful, knowledgeable, and competent Dentist does his job. The treatment has been split into a few visits to make sure that all previous treatments are going well without any negative impact. 2. High-grade material was used during the treatment to help reduce unknown impact of fillings. It is worth mentioning that Dr Wu's office has a state of the art dental facility. However, in spite of great quality material and modernized/updated facility cost, charges in the billing statement sound very reasonable to me, far better than my prior experience with other dentists. 3. Dr Wu is professional, gentle, friendly, pleasant, and attentive. Seems to me treatment quality is his top priority. Before treatment, he discussed the detailed plan with me to help relieve me of my worries. During the treatment, Dr Wu genuinely cares about my feeling, and always responds with understanding, respect and hospitality. 4. Dr Wu's staff are friendly, experienced, well-organized, and welcoming. My visits to Dr. Wu's office have been always a pleasure. A friend highly recommended Dr. Wu to me. She has been Dr. Wu's patient for a few years. After I saw her much better smile, I decided to see Dr. Wu and have my teeth whitened. It was definitely worth the 3-hour drive!!! Dr. Wu is very kind and professional. Obviously, making money is not his primary goal. He cares about his patients. After checking my teeth, he basically told me that my teeth were white enough and I should not "waste" money for procedures that might not make a significant difference. However, I insisted that still wanted to have it done. LOL. He then thoroughly explained to me the procedures and possible side effects. During the Zoom whitening process, he frequently checked and made sure everything was OK. He reduced the time to be half of the standard time needed because he didn't want me to endure the unnecessary pain (I wouldn't say it is painful but just a little discomfort) considering my teeth were already pretty white. I am happy with the result. My teeth are a little whiter just as Dr. Wu had expected. : ) And surprisingly, Dr. Wu didn't charge the full amount he originally quoted because he thought he didn't go through the entire and standard time which is supposed to be 45 minutes. this doctor is not good at filling decay teeth, my family have three teeth filled, all have problem, food always stuck between the teeth after filling. My son has two teeth filled there, then food stuck between the teeth, when he eat, he always use hands to pull out all the time. I have been Dr. Wu's patient since 5/13/2011, a little less than three years. I went to Dr. Wu through the web listing of network doctors of my dental insurance. I had problem with the cap of my left front tooth as the cap kept falling off and by then was broken and the previous dentist Dr. Michael Shuck wanted me to do implant as he said that my root was too shallow and another cap would not hold. Dr. Shuck was going to refer me to a specialist. Through 9 years being Dr. Shuck's patient, I had much trouble with my two front teeth caps installed by Dr. Shuck, each one kept falling off, chipped off, then broken, so I have decided during May of 2011 that I wanted another opinion of the diagnosis from another doctor. Dr. Wu examined me thoroughly he discovered that I had another tooth that was broken in the root and needing implant first immediately. Regarding my two front caps, he decided that instead of implant, he would bridge the front two teeth to make the joint caps as one cap, much stronger, as front teeth are for biting and need to be much stronger. He would do this after the more urgent implant has been completed. The following two years, Dr Wu did the following dental for me: Semi-annual dental check-ups, teeth cleaning and cavity treatment/filling. Everything was great and done with comfort. Dr. Wu also helped me with much patience fixing broken front cap several time, bonded it back, and getting ready for the work coming later. Over the nine months period in 2012, Dr. Wu extracted the cracked tooth, did implant and the install cap over the implant. It is beautiful now and strong, the color matched perfectly with the rest of my front teeth! The beginning of 2013, Dr. Wu replaced my front two caps with two caps that are connected, a bridge, thus the two caps as one cap is stronger. I can now eat with no worries with very bite, what a gift! Dr. Wu also took out some of my gum to make my font teeth longer to match better with the rest of my front teeth. The color of the bridge again matches perfectly with the rest of my teeth! I got compliment from my family and friends as they can tell the difference with my happy smile and beautiful teeth. I have not smiled in two years, what a blessing, thank you, Dr. Wu. During the tooth extraction, implant and the front bridge procedures period, after the procedures and office visits, Dr. Wu called me several times to inquire to how I was doing and if additional medication was needed. I have not ever had any dentist called me after the dental procedures to check on me, I was very touched by how much he cares about his patient. The staffs in Dr. Wu's office are wonderful. The front office manager is very friendly and kind. Dr. Wu's assistant is curtsies and very professional. They make me feel very welcome and well cared for. The dental office is maintained well, clean and comfortable. The fee for Dr. Wu's service is extremely reasonable and the staff in the office worked with me on flexible payment plans and very helpful. I am in my 50's and have gone to many dentists in my life. This is the first time I take the time to recommend any dentist or doctors. Dr. Wu is the best dentist you can find, he can perform not only the regular dental work, he is also specialized in other more advanced dental procedures (dental implants and root treatments) so you don't need to go to several dentist to get your work done. I would recommend Dr. Wu to anyone who seeks a dentist who has the best interest of his patient in mind, who takes time to investigate the best dental procedures for the patient, who does professional work with kindness and consideration. Our family have been seeing Dr. Wu in the last 8 years. Dr. Wu is one of the few doctors out there who truly care about the benefits of his patients. He doesn't push people to do treatments, but he gives patients different options they can consider for themselves. He has magic hands. For example, in the few weeks I have had problems with some funny feeling around my teeth, then I went to see him for a routine cleaning. good service, i came in to ask the price for removing cavities, two of my teeth in the back of my mouth always hurt when i eat, doctor wu took some x-ray shots and told me where my bad teeth are, the price is reasonable so i got the full service done. they also checked up on me couple weeks later after i got my cavities removed. definitely recommended. read more
