I had some major and difficult dental work to be done. (because of bone density and cancer) I actually consulted 5 different specialists. Becky charged me much more than any of the others for a consultation. She then spent "about 15 seconds" examining my mouth declaring that I needed to pull ALL of my top teeth! $250 for a very brief consultation in which no other specialist agreed, what else can I say. Felt like I gave her my money for nothing. PS Since then, I have had two implants and a bone graph with a third implant coming, and needed to only pull ONE tooth. I have been a patient with Dr gong for now 6+ years. Always a great experience. She is my doctor for yearly dental cleaning. Her team is very good at scheduling and the work is also great. My teeth and oral hygiene has definitely improved overtime. Apart from that, she carefully checks up on all teeth during cleaning exercises. This has helped in early catching up on any issues. i got 2 small fillings done overtime, which were treated even before i felt any pain, and thus damage was much smaller. I met Dr Gong yesterday and was very impressed by her professionalism and knowledge. I would strongly recommend her if you have a complex situation and need help evaluating all options and selecting the best course of action. A good friend of mine who is a retired Professor at the University of the Pacific Dugoni Dental School recommended I see her. Dr Gong was very thorough in her examination. I have a 2nd molar which is short; and crown retention is a challenge. My family of 5 have been with Dr. Gong for many years and our three boys all grew up with healthy teeth under her care. Dr. Gong is very detail oriented to clean our teeth, fill the kids' cavities (so far only a few times) and give the useful suggestions of daily health teeth maintenance. Dr. Gong is wonderful. Within the last year I have become very well acquainted with her and her staff. I hadn't seen a dentist nowhere near as regularly as I should. Moving across country here and having to start over with all my doctors exacerbated my overdue dental appointment(s). I had so many cavities, too many to count and that I'm willing to admit. Her findings were consistent with other dentists I visited on the east coast before moving here. Because of the amount of cavities I had, it would require many appointments and easily blowing through my deductible. On top of that, I also needed a root canal and an extraction of all my wisdom teeth. However, Dr. Gong came up with a thorough treatment plan and also understood that I would have to slowly work on this due to the amount of money and time involved. Her work is so good that although months had passed while I had my temporary crown, when I was finally able to see her, it was still in great condition. My availability has always been challenging but she and her team have been so accommodating and collaborative to help me get in to finish my treatment plan. As of this week, I had my last treatment plan service. I have been seen by Dr. Gong 3 times so far. Even if my dental situation is a stressful one, Dr. Gong has made it as smooth a sail as possible. I had a crown which was giving me terrible toothache a few weeks ago. In my first visit, Dr. Gong spent a good hour explaining the X-Ray, what possible could be hidden behind, what options do I have in different scenarios, etc. She gave me time to think about it, and did not rush me to any option. My 2nd visit could have been an extremely stressful one if it had been done by another dentist. My old crown was opened, problematic tooth extracted, and 2 neighboring teeth were prep'd for bridge. It took longer than 2 hours. Not only did I feel little pain, but Dr. Gong's confidence and clear explanation on the situation kept my anxiety level down. When I walked out Dr. Gong's office that day, I was convinced that I made the right decision by choosing Dr. Gong. Just did my 3rd visit yesterday. Dr. Gong told me that my gum did not heal completely so she would like to wait for another 2 weeks to do the impression. That means an extra office visit, and Dr. Gong did not charge me extra for that! I am grateful that Dr. Gong made the judgement call out of my interest, not hers! Although she specializes in prosthodontics, she also practices general dentistry. Personally, I do not have any major dental issues and solely came for a cleaning. Yet, she was very accepting and appeared to truly enjoy her work. She is thorough, gentle with her hands and extremely meticulous. Because of my positive experience, I have referred to Dr. Gong some of my own medical patients who needed major dental work (I am not in the dentistry field). Dr. Gong, I must say is quite thorough. One of the only dentists who is not ashamed to also wear braces to perfect her own teeth as well. That alone says something about her style. She cleans my teeth regularly and keeps a lookout for areas that are easier to get cavities then other parts of the teeth. She looks out for the future. There is some buildup, but also realizes that you don't need to perform unneeded work to waste your hard earn dollars. Also her payment plan is flexible. If you can't pay for the crown work right away, she doesn't mind setting something up so you can pay half now and half later. I like that she is also patient with you. I have been early a few times as well as up to 15 minutes late later. She doesn't get mad or scold you. Instead she praises you for how fast you get there once they call you after you are 10 minutes late. She's a keeper. I just wish she doesn't try to socialize with you so much while there is something in your mouth. I know she likes to ask questions, but how can I answer properly if my mouth is open and being worked on. read more

I have taken my 4 year old son to her twice so far. Once for a cavity that is in the front tooth that his primary dentist didn't feel comfortable doing and once when my son knocked out his two front teeth. Dr gong's gentle approach had my son sitting on her dental chair with minimal discomfort and I was amazed at how calm my son was the whole time.
