Wanted to love this place, but it just fell short of a 4 star review. Ordered breakfast burritos and was excited to see portuguese sausage on the menu. The salsa packets were spicy in a good way. Good flavor and heat. Burritos (we got some bacon, some portuguese sausage) were tasty, but texture-wise could've been better. The hash browns inside the burritos were soft, so on bites that you didn't get any meat it was just mush. We ended up having to open one up and re cook the potatoes more to get it crispier. We even ordered one with the hash browns well done and even that one was too soft. Hoping it was just a rushed, off kind of day. Willing to give it another shot! read more

We won't be returning. . . My family and I had ordered from here on Saturday Night. We had ordered a Patty Melt, A Gyro Plate, Chili Cheese Burger and Fries. All the food from the Gyro Plate was dry and wasn't sure if the meat to the burger and sandwich was even real. Food didn't have flavor. Uh, yeah... please let me know which menu items these are (see my photos below), because my cheeseburger looked absolutely NOTHING like any of them. The burger I bought had a single patty about a quarter of an inch thick which tasted like one of the bulk, frozen patties you buy from Costco. I'm not joking. There also wasn't much else to the burger other than some shredded iceberg lettuce, a slice of American cheese, and a glob of Thousand Island dressing. It made for a plain, bland sandwich. The same goes with the fried zucchini. It was a large helping, but it desperately needed salt and would've been practically inedible had they not served it with some packets of ranch dressing. There are easily a half dozen burger joints within a mile of this place that are FAR better, e.g. Dog Haus, The Stand, Fatburger, Hook Burger, etc. I recommend you try any one of them first. read more

Let me just say I love Michael's and their Lunch (burgers, sandwiches and fries are delish) so keep reading for just my thoughts on their Breakfast Burrito, these 3 stars aren't a reflection of their other food. I'm always on the hunt for the best breakfast burrito in the valley and I'm sorry Michael's...you ain't it Like I said, this review is mainly for the Bfast Burrito. It's sad when something so simple falls so short. It's a big Burrito and looks exciting, but it's bland! Not much flavor, no salt, salsa is watery, eggs are eh, and potatoes were dry. I was left feeling unsatisfied. Crying in the Burrito definetly added some salt tho. I have honestly given Michael's 3 shots at Bfast Burritos and every time I leave sad. So no more of those here. Their other food though is great! They give you a very generous amount of fries and their burgers have that charbroiled taste. I'll keep coming back for their burgers and fries but sadly I will be steering clear around breakfast time. read more

Been coming here for years, more than half my life. This place growing up was a staple in my neighborhood and everyone that lived around it knows. David (the owner) has never had a friendly demeanor but we dealt with it I guess to a certain extent, granted the quality of the food and prices was pretty good. After Covid this place went to crap. They never went back to normal, prices increased and went up at an alarming rate even though he cut more than 50 percent of his employment and maintenance of his shop. You can no longer sit there and eat, sodas are sold by can at 2.00 dollars and you still get the same shitty attitude from the owner (David) which is always there. SMH. As others have stated, Michael's Burgers is no longer that quality, go-to restaurant it was famous for. The burgers used to be fantastic, Unfortunately, in the past few months they have stopped using fresh shredded lettuce (as previously seen in all their pictures). Now you receive a chopped "kale, green spinach" type of topping. It is limp & soggy, not crisp, like chilled, shredded lettuce. This then causes the tomato slices to immediately become hot, mushy & inedible. I've since asked for shredded lettuce, but continue to receive the limp kale. Other items also have become hit or miss on quality, especially if lettuce was part of the sandwich. Costs have increased (like everywhere) but I don't appreciate how each menu item is priced to "round up" to an even total with tax. eg: French fries that were recently priced at $1.83 + .17 tx = $2.00, were raised to $2.74 + .26 tx = $3.00. This is a huge 50% increase. Other item prices also have been increased in a similar fashion where the store is up (over) charging to hit that even total. Also item portions are nothing to get excited about. Hours have been cut way back... closing now at 4:00pm, eliminating the opportunity to order dinner for the family. (Their loss) Interior is very worn out with no seating. Outside seating is filthy. This used to be my forever go-to place, but that now has sadly changed. Since they don't seem to care about us customers, I have stopped caring to give them any business. I went to Micheal's burger last night 8/17/22 before they closed. I called over the phone and placed my order before I got there so I can get in and get out. When I got there my order wasn't ready at all matter of fact, he told me that he set my order to the side, whatever. I reordered my cheeseburger and pastrami burger mind you the pastrami burger doesn't come with cheese. After waiting 10-15 minutes my girlfriend and I finally get home to eat our food. The burgers had NO FLAVOR at all I can't stress this enough, the pastrami gave the burger somewhat flavor it possible can give. I'm sorry to be an A but, I don't know how they've been open for 41 years like that's crazy to me. I usually don't write reviews but this place is that bad. Stick to the burgers, the rest of the food quality is poor. Tasty burger but we also ordered a carne asada burrito and a turkey melt. The steak in the burrito was like rubber. And check out the picture I took of the turkey melt. Look at that thing and tell me you would come here. Nothing on a full half of the entire sandwich, the cheese was like a Kraft singles (gross), and the turkey was the lowest quality I could imagine, like the Carl Biddig stuff they sell at the Dollar Tree. Got a recommendation to try this 43 years in business burger joint bit I couldn't have been more disappointed. We ordered a cheeseburger combination, a cheeseburger and onion rings. When we got to the outside only tables we discovered that my cheeseburger wasn't in the bag but from the looks of the other cheeseburger I was not disappointed to not having to eat there, the onion rings were very hard and over fried, the French fries were average frozen fries. All in all for $18 we were very disappointed in this burger offer and would never go back. They don't even allow for a bathroom to be used. Best hole in the wall in San Fernando if you're looking for a feel for homemade food. So far I've had the Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito, Spicy BBQ Burger, Fries & Chili Cheese Fries and they are amazing. Breakfast Burrito: stuffed with a generous amount of meat and egg (definite plus) Spicy BBQ Burger: Sauce is made in house... so they weren't kidding when they said it was SPICY. Still really good if you can handle the heat. Fries & Chili Cheese Fries: The Fries are thick and fried to perfection. I do add more salt, because they don't generally add enough salt for me. The texture is still great and if you get the Chili Cheese Fries you don't need the salt. Which reminds me... hands down THE BEST CHILI CHEESE FRIES IN THE VALLEY. read more

Best breakfast burritos in town! I like simple breakfast burritos and they do it perfectly. I have tried breakfast burritos down the street at dog house and even out a few other spots, a gas station in West Hills, badass, breakfast burritos, all of that extravagant specifically for breakfast burrito spots and one thing I noticed about all of them is that they over complicate flavors with sauces an extra stuff that is just not necessary if you like a simple delicious breakfast burrito burrito. Provender: legit diner that serves breakfast burritos all day long. They have a wide variety of food, from burgers to loco moco. I've tried their burger, breakfast burrito, and the loco moco and they were all good. Prices: reasonable, a breakfast burrito will cost you about $6.50. Parking: there's street parking and a small lot on Cantlay street, behind the building. People: fun for all. Perks: they have a TV and a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating.
