Honestly, this is one of my favorite diners in LA. I like this location more than the one on Ventura and can say that the food quality and service is better being that I was recently at the other. Parking is really easy here, there is a large free parking lot attached right in front. As mentioned service was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. One thing I love about this place is it's very long and there is a very big counter if you prefer to sit there or there's also a long row of booths. So it can host many different sized groups. It has a true retro diner aesthetic to it, which I really love. For this visit, I chose the Turkey Chili and Cheese Omelette and thought it was absolutely fantastic. Everything about it was just great and I would highly recommend to anyone. I also want to point out that their coffee is especially tasty and strong and was another highlight of the meal. They offer great and prompt service, the food is always great, they make their own salsa, the place is always busy but they have plenty of seating and they seem to be able to get you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The ambiance is what you would expect of a good cafe, busy, people enjoying their food and the staff engaging with their clients. I'll continue to come back. read more

My wife and Daughter decided to take me to Nat's Cafe today on Father's Day so I walk in and gave my name down to the hostess. Since it was going to be a long wait, my wife and daughter waited in the car and I asked the hostess if it was cool if I sat down by the bar area and order a coffee which I plan to pay for. I was told by the hosts that that area is first come first serve so she didn't see a problem with it so I sat there. One of the gentleman that works there asked if I wanted anything to drink so I ordered a coffee. Moments later, while drinking my coffee the lady that's assigned to that section asked if I wanted to order anything or if I needed a menu which then I informed her that I was waiting for a table and was told it was cool if I sat there while I drank a coffee. She then rudely stated in Spanish. "I DON'T MAKE MONEY THAT WAY" then storms off. The lady starts complaining to her coworkers and they start looking my way. They then inform the guy that always wears a black shirt and slick back hair who I believe is a manager and he comes over and explains that this section is for walk ins that plan to sit and eat here and am welcomed to wait outside or in the waiting area.I informed him it wasn't a problem but thats the reason I asked from the beginning. I also mentioned we drove from Simi Valley to come here and there were many other restaurant options but I told him how the waitress treated me and he said he would talk to her. I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. After coming here for years with family, friends, even referring this place to others I WILL NEVER COMEBACK AGAIN. We made our way to the Country Café in Chatsworth and of course got great hospitality and food. read more

Updating an old review (11years old !). Things change yes. Came on a Saturday morning about 7:30 No waiting time. I think due to the economy, less go out for breakfast. (Price is often same as lunch or dinner ) Service was very good. Came by multiple times to refill our coffee. Food was pretty solid. I've been meaning to come here for awhile, but the wait time is usually very long on weekends during peak hours. We managed to come early around 9am this Sunday, so we only had a ~10 minute wait. I've heard good things about Nat's so I was very excited to try here. It definitely exceeded expectations! My partner got the Guadalajara Skillet with over easy eggs, it had a good amount of heat as well as nice crispy texture from the hash browns. I had the Lox Benedict, which was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. Finally, we got the Howie's waffle to share, which was the perfect amount of crunchy and came with assorted fruit and maple syrup. The waitress offered us this amazing housemade apricot jam to go with the toasted English muffins, which I think may be the best jam I've ever had. This spot has great breakfast offerings. I love their Eggs Benedict with lox with a side of breakfast potatoes. The portions are generous and the hollandaise sauce on top of the eggs is delicious. I love the moment when the runny egg breaks against my fork, slightly mixes with hollandaise sauce and as they both soak up the english muffin and lox, I set up my fork for that perfect bite for me to indulge on. The mixture of flavor notes and different textures creates an awesome umami effect that your taste buds can really appreciate. The service is always great here, as the waitresses are attentive and smiling and the ambiance is one of a classic diner, with 20 some booths and a breakfast bar area with semi-open kitchen. Wow! Came here on a rainy rainy Saturday morning. There was a wait outside the door. That's how you know the food must be good. We went inside and put our name down. The place was packed. We really thought it was going to be a long wait. We only waited maybe 10 minutes. We got sat towards the back. I cannot remember the server's name, but she was very patient with us and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She made a couple of recommendations and they did not disappoint. I had the eggs Benedict with bacon and my husband had the green chilaquiles with steak. Both came out pretty quickly. Both were very delicious and tasted very fresh. We left very satisfied. If I could I would eat here everyday. Large scramble #3 is always my go to. It's the homemade salsa that really puts it over the top. My order is always cooked exactly to my request. I love Nat's for the in house made salsa, jam, muffins and sausage. Cindy was our server today. Always sweet and always helpful. Sherman Oaks is closer but Nat's West has better parking and seems roomier. Booths and tables are a little dated but clean. There's nice mural and decor on the walls. read more

I think I met one of the laziest dumbest waiters ever. I asked if there sausage was gluten-free. He said nothing in their restaurant is gluten-free. I asked him if his egg over medium was gluten-free. He said no with a smile. I asked him if he knew what gluten was. He assured me he did but he couldn't say anything he told me that I could not eat here and nothing in the restaurant was gluten-free. This gentleman at 7:15 on Friday became one of the dumbest people Iglesias that I have ever met at a restaurant. He missed out on seven breakfasts. I was gonna order to go just because he didn't know what he was selling or doing. People like this need to have some type of bass education in their restaurant and what they're selling. Came here in a group of 2 on a Saturday afternoon, there was a little wait but we only waited for about 10 minutes to be seated. This was that classiccccc diner experience that I've been missing! Bustling and chatty atmosphere, really great place for families for sure. I ordered a spicy Mexican scramble dish and if you look at the photo, you can see that serving size is HUGE - it was enough for me to have 2 days of leftovers! And it was SCRUMPTIOUS. Loved that hint of spice and it was such a balanced scramble - no singular ingredient heavily overpowered the other. I normally never leave reviews for restaurants, but I feel like I have to this time because our waiter was the rudest and most irresponsible server I've ever had. In front of us, there were two older white men, and he kept going to their table, smiling, and asking if they needed anything. For us, he never once did that. He never asked if we wanted anything, never checked if we wanted refills, and when we were done eating, he saw our empty plates but didn't bring us the check. When he finally came around, I gave him my card, and instead of returning, he sent another person to bring us the bill. I honestly believe it was because we were two young people, me and my brother, and also because we're Mexican. Meanwhile, he treated those two white men much better, as well as bigger families around us. Even the cups we were given were dirty. Maybe he assumed we wouldn't leave him a tip, which is why he was "kissing up" to other customers. But the truth is, we were going to tip until he treated us so horribly. In the end, I did not leave him one. We waited 20 to 25 minutes just to get our receipt, and he still didn't even have the decency to bring it back himself. If you need to know who he was, it was specifically a chubby guy with slicked back hair and a tattoo on his forearm. read more

Finally had the chance to have a nice brunch at this location. It's tucked away on Topanga near Roscoe, across from Chick Fil A. It's a small little place with some parking so it can get busy. Coffee is so so. Ice tea is great. I wish Nat's had a breakfast value menu like Ihop. Nat's prices are up there for breakfast. This is the main reason we don't go often. That and it's far from home. This is a very good cafe. My pops been here off and on for 45 years. The service was great and easy to get a table for six on a Monday morning. The food was great, tastes like home cooking. The eggs, especially, were prepared perfectly over easy. My family enjoyed their waffles too. The men's bathroom (tells you a lot about a place) was tidy, but there was a hint of smell that could be taken care of by more timely cleaning. This set the tone for our visit. "We dont do that here." The food was ok and I will not return. My daughter received her omelet and half cook hashbrown. Half the plate was omelet and other half covered mounds of half cooked hash browns. Requested to plse cook longer, and it was returned unappetizing. Hash brown was flattened to thin layer. Small diner clean and ac is on/kept place cool (it was 105 degrees outside). Customer Service 2 stars. The waiter needs to be retrained on proper customer service. read more
