Literally 0 stars. I just spent an hour on the phone receiving the worst customer service from your hot line. In the middle of September I spent almost $65 ordering Halloween decor from your online store. 2 items showed up broken so on October 2nd I called to ask for a refund. They said that I could throw away the broken items and that 2 new items would be sent to me. Over a month went by and I still recieved nothing. Today I call and get put through the ringer with the with people who barely speak English on the phone to have them fight and argue me every step of the way. The second man I spoke to wouldn't even give me his name after I asked him for it. After all that hard time I wasn't even offered a gift card or even a comping of my entire order just because of the hassle I went through! Clearly through my phone number and email you can see that I'm a frequent shopper at your stores and now because of this I won't ever go back. read more

It's actually sad that A.C. Moore is no longer around because yarn is an important part of my lounge life. Michael's has yarn, but it's too expensive. The sales aren't even worthy sales. Most times when I visit I can't get the color I need or it takes forever to find someone to assist me. Not cool. I'm hoping it gets better... especially since this is the alternative. Or...maybe I'll just go to Walmart. They don't always have all the colors I need or want, but the prices are much better. Ijs! read more

Of course, our Bellevue One Place store employees were practicing safety measures but that's not what this review is about. Hanah works in the framing department and man oh man is Michael's lucky to have her. She put together awesome double matting and frame in less than 5 minutes while I spent the next 20 minutes doing "what about this" only to come back to her suggestions. I called to verify a price and inventory before coming out. Drove 10 miles to get here. Found the items on sale. Get to the register and was told they made a mistake and it was in the wrong section. They would not honor the 50% off. So I said fine, can I get the 40% discount instead. They said they can only do 1 item. I said do I have to get in line 4 times. They said 1 discount per customer.!!!! After they made me come out on their own error and wouldn't do sh*t for me for wasting my time. What kinda people run these places....oh, yes old or uneducated ones who have no talent or common sense. They will close down soon! read more

You have great products, responsible prices, nice displays, great selection......but terrible customer service. How many times does the line for the register need to be ten deep with only two registers open? WHY do you have six registers if you never use them??? Retail business rule 101....Never make customers wait to give you their money. You have lost so many sells because the line to pay is ALWAYS long. If you hire more trained people you will see a very large jump in your sells.....trust me on this one. read more

The absolute worst customer service for pick up orders. I placed an order and it was canceled. I used PayPal (never again) and PayPal will not release the funds to my account unless Michael's customer service cancels the authorization. I tried to explain this to four different customer service representatives to no avail. All were not listening to me nor could comprehend what I was saying. Just kept saying I need to contact my financial institution. I called PayPal and provided the information to Michael's staff, but poor customer service training kicked in and I got the standard stupid response. read more

My husband and I went to purchase a few things to make a family altar for the Day of the Dead and since we arrived people began following us. But because we really wanted to get the stuff and wanted to have a good time, we ignored the people. As we're getting ready to get in line, my husband and I leave our cart for less than 5 minutes to go back and get something we forgot, when we come back our cart is gone. Asked one of the employees and they called everyone to find out what happened to our stuff and found out that the store manager took our cart . I have never experienced such bad customer service where I've felt attacked by my appearance. I am 100 percent sure that they thought we were going to take the stuff in our cart. I was truly upset and disappointed by this experience and will not recommend anyone in this store! read more

This store has lots of stuff, but what is really lacking is the customer service. All I got was that Recollections scrapbook paper and some candy. As soon as it was my turn to be rung up the bitch who was working the cash register decided she needed to go and do something else so I got rung up by another bitch who looked like she would rather go home. I didn't say anything because I just wanted to get out of there already. As always they never seem to have anything different that you couldn't get at Beverly's. I am a seasoned crafter and believe me, you might as well go to JoAnns or Beverly's up the street, they are smaller but I think they have a much better selection than here. It seems like this Michael's is one of the most well stocked locations in the Bay Area. There were multiple checkout stands ready and the line moved quickly. The shelves were full of products and not a mess pile. However, I am quite turned off by the employees checking customers out. I was asked by the cashier if I wanted my change after purchasing a product. Of course I want my change! I don't understand what kind of question that is. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It shouldn't even be asked. It would be totally different if I was given change and I gave it back and said "go ahead and keep it". read more

Michaels is still my go-to place for beading supplies, even though the inventory is limited and predictable. It has the advantage of having other craft items there, and when items are on sale it can be quite inexpensive. I wish there was more stock though. read more

I called to see if they had a certain item in stock. When they answered the phone, I explained why I was calling and they said "k lemme check if we have it" and put me on hold. This only took about 30 seconds. They then kept me on hold for OVER TWENTY MINUTES. Keep in mind literally all they had to do was walk over to the section, check if the item was in stock, and let me know. After being on hold for over twenty minutes for a simple question, they finally picked up the phone and curtly told me "I checked, we don't have it. Goodbye". Not only terrible customer service but also very rude. Poorly trained staff clearly not customer service oriented. read more

I used to like this place until a few days ago. I found what I was looking for and walked up to the register, the cashier told me my total and I said but this item has a different price on the floor after she asked me to show her she said I can't give you this price, even though it was clearly their mistake and the tag matched the item description plus the peg was packed with the item I grabbed it was only $5 dollar difference. They should honor their prices and should have given me that price out of costumer service it's not my fault they are so incompetent and can't label their product. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'm for sure not going back again. read more

Sometimes, I love to geek out with crafty things.. I come here to find scrapbook materials on sale. It's not a cheap hobby i have here.. Who knew stickers and pretty papers would cost that much? I got married 3 weeks ago and DIY'd not just my bouquet but, all of my bridesmaids bouquets and flower arrangements for the wedding. For what costs $300 to $1000.00 per bouquet I created on my own for $224.00 with the help of Michaels and their large assortment of artificial roses, dowel rods, bases, charms, gems, rhinestones, and ribbon. Couldn't have done it without them (And all the really long sticks of hot glue involved.) read more

I've been into scrapbooking since I was a kid. Collages,journals, photo scrapbooks - I've created countless paper projects all form michaels. Including craft projects with my nieces, nephews and kids that I've babysat over the years. Paper star, and paper heart banners are always a hit with the kids. read more

I must say, I can get lost in this place, I love it here. I have found everything I ever needed for baby showers and bridal showers here and with their extensive scrapbooking materials, I might just look into starting one sooner or later. The big win over for me is their exceptional customer service, it was a week before Christmas and I needed to make reindeer horns for the holidays, they had everything I needed and when I got to the cashier, he was so super awesome! He asked if I had a coupon, I sheepishly said no, I always throw them away. He rang me up with a 20 percent off everything coupon and another 50% off a large ticket item seperately. SCORE, I spent within my budget even though I grabbed some things that I got carried away with. If I could put 0 stars I would. I did a pick up order and it sent to the wrong store. So I had to call and cancel and reorder to the write one. I went to the store to pick it up and the lady says "we don't do pick up after 7" .... like no where on the website does it say that. So I called and cancelled again. And as soon and I got off the phone i got an email saying my order is ready for me. So now I have to wait 1-2 for the order to cancel and then 3-5 business days for my TWO refunds. These people are just horrible. I asked to exchange a ball of yarn for a different color and they couldn't do it!! I didn't want money back!! I didn't want something different!!! I just wanted a different color!! Someone gave me a ball of some horrible color of acrylic yarn and instead of giving it to Goodwill I thought that I could make a dog sweater if I could get a color I liked. But, no go!! Do not go here on the weekend. The lines are ridiculous long! And that's even with almost all the cash registers open. This location had a good amount of supplies. Michaels, I love you and all but you were inferior today. I visit you every week to buy school supplies for projects but why today must you fluster me?! I would never of guess for the day I would get agitated, though the boyfriend gets pissed when we stay for more than an hour in the store as I browse all the scrapbooking items. It's an expensive interest but I love homemade items. I bought a Martha Stewart (love her items but clearance items always tend to sell quick!) craft puncher for a school project, got home and noticed that it was defective.. I stayed up until 5-6 in the morning finishing my project because of this flawed puncher. I got the job done but it would've been easier to not have a faulty product. I came again today to ask for store credit or to return the puncher but I was shooed away by such a store policy. That's when I stopped loving you. Though I did leave with some scrapbooking items and a sketch book, that does not change my feelings toward you. On Thursday a worker was nice, she told me that the canvases displayed were on sale and immediately gave me coupons for them, I liked her. But today, when I noticed I dropped a coupon for the sketch book, I told the cashier if I could get another coupon and use it 'cause I lost it while I was shopping, and she voided the sketch book instead. My bf found my coupon on the floor somewhere. I don't like your Saturday workers, sorry. They're awfully rude, except the woman who greeted me while I stared and looked through the scrapbook stickers. She was nice. I know I'm angry as I write this, and I know I will visit again but maybe I should start visiting Joann's as this relationship worsens with you. I hope not. holy arts and crafts, batman! i sometimes believe that there is a fat midwestern girl trapped inside of me. i love fried food and i love scrapbooking. i'm purposefully not learning how to knit or crochet because i can see myself getting carried away and turning them into expensive hobbies. needless to say, if i lived any closer to this michaels store, my money might as well be funneled directly there. it's HUGE. it's new. it's clean. it's organized. it's any arts and crafts whore's idea of paradise. i've never come across another michael's quite like it. i walked in one weekend morning and was greeted by a couple of employees who asked if i needed help finding anything. um yes, i do! this store should come with maps or a directory! the employee was EXTREMELY helpful - escorting me to different aisles to pick out what i needed and offering suggestions on alternative ways to make a jeweled headband for a roaring 20s party. love the personal shopper/VIP treatment! parking situation: yay for strip mall parking lots! read more

I always leave inspired when I walk into and out of Michael's automatic sliding doors. Michael's is my Disneyland! They have an amazing selection of yarn to choose from as well as everything you need to create beautiful things. I was ecstatic that they FINALLY opened a Michael around South San Francisco/Daly City/Colma Area. We needed one. I didn't want to drive to the one in San Mateo and it's really shabby, unorganized, and unappealing. This place is clean, organized, decently huge (let's hope it stays like that). I walked in just right 10 minutes before their closing time. I didn't allow my creativity to flow. NEXT time, but just from browsing isles to isles this place is awesome. Bought several things and when I checked out I had an item that wasn't on sale so I figured I'd use it on that and was told it didn't work on that particular item. Always has exclusions which is really irritating. I'll stick with HOBBY LOBBY from now on, never have a problem with their coupons, they always honor them on everything. read more

Came into Michaels a few times looking for some picture frames. They are fairly easy to find, but I would say that the store is just messy in general. I don't know what to expect of an arts/crafts store, but it really comes close to being the typical art store. There always seems to be some kind of sale going on (at least for picture frames), and the prices are fair.........If you need help, say inquiring about a price of something without a price listed, GOOD LUCK trying to find someone who works there. If the person at the custom framing table is busy, there is basically no one else walking the floor who seems to work there. I had to circle the store twice till I saw this woman restocking an aisle. When I asked her, she told me that the price should be listed either above or below the item, and of course I told her that there was no sign of a price. So she radios asking for someone with a price scanner, and the answer I got was to go to the front and ask a cashier. I just thought to myself, "Wow...." C- read more
