For my crafting needs in a pinch with the place to go, not necessarily cheap but you can find a sale and it let you look around and get ideas. Great for kids and adults or big kisses. I like to call ourselves if you can find staff, they're nice unfortunately like everything else there's less than less of them. Plenty of parking. read more

Kinda surprised during the biggest holiday season (I usually go around this time), few days before Xmas, almost everything was sold out and a lot of their shelves were empty. Majority of inventory, out of stock. I did find a few things I like that caught my my eye, and glittery. My art & craft projects I had planned to do, those items were sold out. Haven't been to Michael's since before the COVID fiasco. First time here since 2019,one noticeable difference, they now have self-checkout, and no bags to place your items purchased. Time have changed that every store I go to now has self-checkout and no bags, unless you pay extra for it. Overall, even with empty shelves, had a nice time shopping here going through all the aisle that was worth my time and to buy things. read more

This store is hands down the worst Michael's I have ever been to. The staff is rude, unhelpful and the store is in such an awful condition, with products all over the floors and just disorganized. The frame and matte guy was so lazy, he couldn't even bother helping us, so we just left and went to another craft store. Don't bother with this Michael's. read more

I learned the ropes the hard way. But it took me a bit to get it together and have my own lingo going. And before heading to Michaels, I jot down EVERY SINGLE ITEM prior to my visit. Then... 1. I check my sanity, 2. keep calm 3. have patience. That way, when I do see a sales associate, I hit them up with EVERYTHING in one breath. Besides the lack of staff, their ongoing discount prices on Frames, come handy. I purchased a paper print painting a few months ago from CoSM and made the mistake of mounting it on a chippy-choppy frame that was just off. Then realize, what I needed was, an intense frame to make the art shine. I had a better scope of their floor samples when I chatted with a Michaels Frame Associate, who helped with the process, then in a matter of several minutes, I placed my order for an edgy frame, that really popped in color. Prices are based on frame style and size of artwork; and Custom orders, will take up to 14 days to deliver to the store. (There is however, an additional $30 price tag, if you want it directly shipped to you- which is rarely mentioned). I also dig their wall-to-wall arts and crafts, for when I do my Scrapbooking to jazz up my photo albums- because part me, still enjoys looking at them- (and yes..I gave in to the world of Scrapbooking- many years ago). For me, there's a lot to be said about seeing, touching- but more important, preserving memories in a real photo album and not on my iPhone. I get to save a buck or two...maybe three, shopping at Michaels, but my shopping experience as well as everybody else's, will be a lot better, with additional assistance. read more

My Favorite Micheals to go to. Organized store, well stocked & staff is fantastic. Was having trouble at the the self checkout. The worker Kathy came over to help me, was so friendly & professional. She was able to apply my coupons with no problem. what a wonderful worker. While she was helping me the supervisor, I think his name was Phil came over to ask her something & had the pleasure to talk with him too. The store itself is beautifully laid out, fully stocked and organized however the staff is incredibly incompetent. There was one cashier who had the most disrespectful attitude. An elderly couple needed help at check out and we're not accustomed to the self check out and the disrespect I witnessed by this middle aged female cashier was unbelievable. She shooed this couple away from her and pointed to the self check out. They were trying to explain that they needed help and the cashier kept making disgusted faces. Michael's is fun. I'm not really a right-brained person, but whenever I step into one of their stores I can't help but browse all the crafts and such imagining what I could make. Whether it's picking up frames for my slightly unhealthy obsession of framing everything, or supplies for my glitter beard - Michael's is ideal for any random crap you would need. I've had similar experiences at almost every Michael's I've been to, this one is no exception. It's kind of crowded, disheveled merchandise, a snack bar approaching the registers, and a checkout line that's always ALWAYS long. The line isn't always bad, if they have enough help it flows pretty nicely. It's also a good chance to commiserate with your fellow shoppers about how long the line is, the latest craft buzz, or how we would never wait this long at JoAnn Fabric - sheesh! Anyway, Michael's is a fine craft store. I've always had good customer service here, but besides that there's nothing truly outstanding about this store which is why it gets a 3. At last! My daughter is into art! My persistence of getting her into art finally paid off! Yay! As a guitar/ukulele player, museum lover and photographer I am looking forward on that day when she start painting or maybe playing the piano. She ignored the piano I bought for her and the classical guitar a good friend gave to me but she has this new found love of playing the violin which I think is better. Her love in painting, not on canvas but the horses and my little ponies figurines, started like a year ago. I think her love for colors started when we visited the crayola factory in Pennsylvania when she was 2 years old and then visited it again when she was 4. At this branch of Michaels, I bought her 7 various types of paint brushes and a set of paint color which will be useful for her painting project. I always like this art store for our art needs. This coming Halloween season I might end up getting some of the decora from here. read more

Hands down certain individuals make or can even break your shopping experience. I recently went to my Micheals in Hartsdale and found the most delightful professional young lady. Her name is Brianna. I then returned and didn't see her for a couple of weeks, I was sad imagining she was no longer there. Well today I was pleasantly surprised to see her there. You truly need more like her. Her willingness to help her enthusiasm and caring is amazing to experience especially considering I'm shopping in a craft store. Michaels always has a bunch of people in it, guess cuz a bunch of housewives shop here. I am not ashamed to admit I come here. Where else can you get these frames? I get a lot of posters and they have various okay-priced poster frames of many sizes! If you have a Target close to you, the poster frames are cheaper there, but sometimes going all the way to Target isn't practical around this area. Any time I had a school project I'd come to Michaels and somehow find something incredible for it. Gotta build a solar system out of styrofoam balls? Got it. Build a bridge out of popsicles. Got it. Really anything you need. You'll ace it. Ace is so hard. So yeah, I'm a guy and shop at Michaels. Deal with it. I'm breaking barriers. And acing life. read more

A nice place to get your craft supplies. Came here for the first time recently after years and years of passing by here. I actually never knew what was in here, until I looked something up recently and saw that this place had what I specifically needed. The store looked well maintained, decently stocked, and clean. It wasn't overly busy with customers, though there were still some lingering around....especially in areas I was. I didn't see any staff on the floor at all, though I didn't need any help anyway so I wasn't really looking either. I've read the other reviews about the registers, but I had no problems. There were 2 cashiers and the line was 5 customers deep. It's something everyone should be used to in retail stores at different times - waiting in line - but the wait wasn't too long at all. I've experienced plenty worse wait times (like Old Navy), so not sure what the fuss is about (other than people being difficult, impatient, and just ignorant). The cashier was friendly and efficient. Not much more to say about that aspect. Maybe I went during a slow time, but it was what it was. Located in a decent sized parking lot. Michaels shares the space with a Domino's, a T Mobile, and I think a barber shop. In general located in the midst of a large shopping area (on both sides) each with their own parking lots. So overall a good place to get your art supplies, crafts, or whatever else you're getting for decent enough prices. read more

Not only did the store have 40% off of one item but my cashier named Cassandra was so awesome that she was able to get me more savings than thought I could. I purchased on the online store which said they had 13 of the ribbon that I needed. I went to the store to pick up my items, waited 25 minutes just to be told by the manager that they actually had ZERO. Z. E. R. O. The manager said "I'm sorry. We are currently working on our stock." Meanwhile, there were four employees talking in the front of the store. And I said "oh yeah looks like you're working hard on your stock". And then I walked out. I used to live in the city and never really went to Michaels. But after moving to Westchester, this place has been amazing. It is truthfully a bit disorganized and sometimes online items can't be found in the store, but the amount of savings is unbelievable. Tip #1, ALWAYS check their coupons page before buying anything. Usually they have 40% or 60% off one item, sometimes even 20% off your entire purchase. And yes you can reuse these coupons over and over again (so simple to take advantage of this system). Tip #2, some common items (like frames) will have a sale every 1-2 weeks or so... NEVER buy them at full price because they will always go 50% off or 40% off eventually and very frequently. I've done so many home decor projects and my friends are always amazed at how cheap I get away with it. Tip #3, returning is so easy. I've returned so many times no shame haha. Just a few days ago I bought a whole bunch of Christmas decor (they have an amazing selection at an amazing price and quality. I don't think any other store nearby have better deals or variety as them), but my receipt was about $100 since I bought A LOT even with a 50% off sale. Next day, a coupon for 20% off entire purchase including sale items came out. I went back, returned everything and asked them to re-scan with the 20% off, saved myself $25 and they gave me no trouble for it :) they don't price match but still worked out! Went shopping here for a last minute gift for my friend (she is a knitter). There was an abundance of yarn to choose from and it was all on sale at a great price. I choose a huge bundle for $5.00. When I got to the register, the cashier stopped for a moment and said, "OH! I have a coupon you can use!!" and then scanned me a 50% off coupon. The yarn came to $2.58 after tax. I went to Michaels to find items to decorate my cap for graduation. This particular store seemed a little disorganized. But I found what I needed and a lot of things were out of stock like big solo letters etc. that was disappointing. They also had a lot of new graduate stickers and for certain careers, I think they should add more career choices for the stickers!!! The reason why I say it's disorganized because it took me and my friend a while to find just regular glue in the store and the staff sent us to the wrong aisle. As I went to the cashier I notice a huge line and I see that there was only ONE cashier!! The line was huge and why was only one person doing cashier?? They got one more person to help after a while but there should be more staff to help out. There was hardly anyone on the floor to help those find what they are looking for. A lot of basic items are overpriced! For a couple of stickers and paper I spent a lot of money which is insane. But either way I got what I needed and the cap looks great! read more

I like Michaels. For a chain craft store, they tend to be pretty good for beads and most other items. There's a definite lack of customer service at this location, except for one particular store manager who's been very helpful. And the magazine selection sucks. They have lots of sales and specials, though, and some reeeeeally pretty Swarovski crystal beads. Here's a tip: if you can't find the color of seed bead you're looking for in the bead section, try the embroidery section. They have Mill Hill brand seed beads, in these little 4.25-gram packages. They're regular Japanese seed beads, in a MUCH larger variety of colors than the ones in the bead section! Their yarn selection is pretty good, though it depends what you're looking for. I'm a fan of Lily Sugar 'N Cream yarn, of which they have quite a bit. It's also a good place for other cheaper yarns, like Red Heart yarns and Caron yarns. If you're looking for the fancy stuff, go elsewhere. They also have a pretty good selection of pattern booklets and books, at least if you are just browsing and don't know exactly what book/booklet you are looking for ahead of time. I've gotten some nice surprises there. If you're going to Michaels, or if you just think you might, check your local newspaper for coupons. They often have coupons for 40 or 50% off one item. They also do framing, and have coupons for that as well. read more

I went to return 2 items today and it did not go well at all. I had an item for $9.99 and a shirt for 3.50. After 15 minutes of them not being able to figure out how to put the money back on my card and trying to give me store credit instead, they finally were able to override and give me the money back. However, when I got back to my car I noticed that she CHARGED me for a shirt instead of giving me money back. So I was only reimbursed $6.99! I would have went back in...but I was not about to spend 30 min on that line again for them to mess up my card any more than it already was from them swiping it about 10 times. read more

For people like me this is a dangerous store. I'm talking about the kind of people who loves to take on projects but does not possess the time, the money, the space nor the will to finish. Thanks to Michael's I have enough supplies to entertain a retirement home for months. It's their fault for carrying everything from painting supplies, to crochet needles, to yarn to baskets and frames.. buttons.. fake flowers..... you get the point. They have everything. Also a convenient parking lot. This is now officially the only arts and crafts store in the area, so the prices are not competitive but affordable so long as you don't turn into a craft junky and decide to start on quilting just because you have a boring blanket. read more

I love Michael's but this one was completely different from the ones I'm used to. So usually Michael's are all set up the same. Ribbons near xyz, yarn near abc, and so on. This one seemed a little out of whack and took me longer than usual to navigate the store. Although it was a little unorganized, just like in true Michael's fashion, THERE WERE NO EMPLOYEES IN SIGHT! I guess that's something that will never change with this store. It's like they purposely only have three people working at a time, two of which are on the register (oh we'll get to the cashier experience in a minute) and one hiding in a bin of yarn somewhere. It's ridiculous! Then God forbid you need a can a spray paint! You push the button and wait until Jesus himself come to get the can for you cause you sure as hell won't find an employee to get it for you. And if you do find one guess what? HE DOESN'T HAVE THE KEY TO THE FREAKIN' CABINET! So now you're forced to wait until the resurrection for Jesus to come back yet again with the key. On to the register: There is never enough people to combat the massive line that always seems to form at check out. Then you have someone who wants to decide whether or not she wants the blue bouquet or the red one while at the register (Move your ass lady, no one cares!). Or we get the person who is trying to pull up their coupons on their phone (that's usually me. Don't judge me!) but of course Michael's has horrible service so that takes forever. You go through the whole "sorry ma'am my coupon is still loading" speech and then the heifer behind the counter (after watching you search for the coupon and wait 5 mins for it to load) HAS THE SAME COUPON YOU WERE TRYING TO LOAD IN PAPER FORM (Are you F***ing kidding me!). Like what the hell were you waiting for lady? Sheesh! They act like scanning a coupon for the customer was going to take money out of their pockets or something. Overall: Sorry this was me venting about Michael's overall but this definitely applies to this store as well. Will I return, of course, I have no freaking choice. I love art! Sidebar: I saw a "celebrity" in this store trying to be incognito. I'll admit I did follow her around the store for a minute (OK may 10 mins) trying to get a better look. On Sunday November 11 I placed an order online for an xmas tree. I realized throughout the purchase that I was going to have to pick this item up in the store. I followed all the online instructions, including selecting which store I wanted to pick up this xmas tree. After the web site taking my credit card number and paying for the product I was actually impressed that another store was actually learning something from AMAZON.... well not so fast. I was supposed to get a follow email stating as to when I can go to the store that I selected to pick up the tree... Well 24 hours later still no follow up email and I had to call customer service myself. They informed that my order was indeed still processing.. Really 24 hours and know one knows wether or not this tree is available. I called the store only to be told once again that my order was processing and that they where extremely busy ... Too busy in fact to look for my tree. I forgot to mention that I wanted to use this for my business window... of which I had taken completely apart on Sunday not realizing that 24 .later and still no answer. I guess people don't buy xmas trees in November. I knew that I should have ordered this from Amazon because it would already be in my store window, lit up and without all the aggravation. Why does this store always have the LONGEST line at the cash register ever? I love the selection but avoid going here because they seem SO understaffed. They redid the store recently which is nice. I used to see lots of shoplifting evidence in the bead department which seems to have dissipated (completely cleared out racks OR bead blatantly clipped out of their packaging- trashy much?) I only have access to two Michaels. I really like the yarn selection available here. I would like to see a better selection of buttons. It seems when something is low or out of stock it takes a while before restocking. The store is not always put together well, but I am happy as long as I find what I want. The manager seems to have much attitude; the employees are hit and miss by the registers. I never can find someone for help. I always get parking. There is usually a line. I think there online store needs much improvement. Until than, I will continue coming here if needed. read more

The Michael's location in Hartsdale has an excellent staff, especially Michael in framing. I had an issue with a framed picture and he went above and beyond to help me fix it. If you can manage to block out the mind-numbing elevator music at Michael's you might find some great arts and crafts supplies. They have any kind of glue you can imagine, an extensive bead section, great stickers and scrap book supplies, fake flowers and a really good fabric dye selection.. I love the section of bins filled with items for a dollar. Good stocking stuffers or last minute gift ideas. Anticipate a very long, slow, torturous line so don't go when you're in a rush or you have to pee..( they do have a bathroom there). If you need a craft supply then Michael's will be the place to find it at a decent price! read more

I had a bit of a disappointing experience at this Michael's location. I was making a large purchase and needed help finding things b/c I wanted to be in and out. Just like every Michael's stores that I have been to, it's difficult to find someone to help you find things on the floor. The guy that I finally found, I had to keep tracking down and chasing around the store for more help. He seemed overwhelmed and I can't blame him, as he was helping several people at once. This was on a weekday night. I think that these stores need to have more staff assistance on the floor. It's the 4th store that I been to in a 2 week period and I've experienced the same issue. Also, they only have one type of glitter (Martha Stewart tiny grain glitter) so if you're looking for table decor, this isn't the store location for you b/c they don't carry large glitter specs. read more

I like to go to Michaels for picture frames, glass vases, or decorative river rocks for the vases. Basically, when I don't want to spend twice as much at Pier One, I go to Michaels. The downside of Michaels is the past couple of times I've been there, the employees are not helpful at all. In fact, when checking out, I say "hello" to the cashier, "thanks," and "have a nice day" without her even ever acknowledging me or uttering a word in return. Nice customer service, eh? read more

She called me to come up to the counter and was pissed because I didn't hear her at first, and she continued to ring me up with the most miserable look on her face. I have been here several times, and each time is more frustrating. They were having a sale on Halloween stuff, and I had found some really cute things for 70% off! So I wandered around, picked up a few more things and it is all probably still sitting in the pile I left it in when I left after waiting on line for 10 minutes. There are only 2 people working the registers, and one is dealing with a difficult purchase/return/raincheck thingy. Meanwhile there are at least 2 dozen people on line--chime in the crying/screaming children--and there are three staff members in the center of the store goofing off doing nothing. The problem is not lack of staff, but simply poor management. I will skip this from now on and go to JoAnns. read more
