This Michaels is super close to my house. I've been in the market for a new wreath for my door since I took my Christmas wreath down. I received an email from Michael's that they were having a sale so I clicked on it and started looking online for a new wreath. The originally price for the wreath was $39.99, but it was on sale for $23.99. Score! So I ordered it online for pickup in the store. I stopped by this morning to pick up the wreath. There was a display at the front of the store that tells you to push the button to pick up your order. I did not see this so I stood in line. I didn't have to wait too long. The young lady that helped me showed me the display as you walk in the door. So now I know I do not have to wait in line when I'm picking up an online order. I have purchased several items from this Michaels in the past few years. One of the things I purchased was an arrangement to go in a vase in my bathroom. I've had this for at least four years and it still looks nice. Even though I'm sure it has been sprayed with water a few times as it is next to my sink. I've been waiting on a specific Christmas ornament for a while to arrive back to Michael's a Studio Decor (angel picture frame-in loving memory with this year on it). Unfortunately, I was in a rush and didn't want to stand in that really long line. I could probably spend thousands of dollars here as they carry so many cute and unique items for DIY projects. I love Michaels- I have for a long time with the great sales and quality art supplies. Today I was shopping floral so I could repair a few items for my in-laws & it is super easy to navigate the stores! This location always seems to have a line and the cashiers don't have much hustle. I prefer another location closer to my house- but this one is close to work (I have done craft projects for work) & on the way to my in-laws. Makes it convenient for both! This past week I frequented Michaels a couple of times on the hunt for photo frames. So glad that I made the trip - Michaels has a great selection of photo frames ranging from high-end / custom all the way to nice bare-bones basic poster frames. The frames we found for our parchments and huge completed jigsaw puzzle were perfect and very reasonably priced especially since we were well prepared with a 60% off coupon as well as a 50% coupon. We returned the next day to buy a few more frames and we were able to use the 40% off coupons (that came with our receipts from the previous day) as well as a 50% off coupon from JoAnns which Michaels price matched. In desperate need of swarovski crystals to decorate my magicbands I went to 2 different craft stores by my home on a Saturday, thinking that I'd be able to find them easily. The first stop was crazy busy with the crystals being "hidden", meaning I needed a store associate to help me get access to them. After being bounced to 3 different people and the amount of folks in the store increasing, I just left. The second location was just out of them all together. About to give up, I decided to stop by this Michaels to see if they had any. They did! Not only were they on full display by checkout, they had every color, size, and shape I needed. Not to mention, they were BOGO 50% off as well. I also needed some E6000 adhesive so while wondering the store I came across an associate and asked her were I could find it. Without hesitation she told me the exact aisle and led me right to it. That's all I needed. It was so nice to have helpful staff in a less-crowded store. Great sales associates, great prices and really good inventory. My mom comes here a lot, and she brought me here one night to get some drawing paper and charcoal pencils. They had all of their christmas stuff on sale for 80% off which quite the steal and we went to town. When we were looking for the paper, we had a hard time so we asked someone to point us in the right direction. She told us the aisle that it was in right off of the top of her head. Once we got what we needed, we checked out and the associate found a 40% off coupon for one full priced item. Considering that the pencils were $30, that saved us quite a bit of money! I love that they sell the earring pieces so that people with sensitive skin can alter your favorite costume (read: Affordable) earrings for sensitive skin. They sell the fish hook backing ($2.99 for platinum, and they also have silver and gold) for earrings and other supplies and tools for creating your own jewelry works of art. Round nose pliers cost $14.99. The people here are always helpful. They do custom framing but you can get your own tools and do it yourself for much less. You can even buy pre-cut mats to place in your frames. Also, they have art classes on Saturdays for the kids, as well. I have yet to take my son here. read more

Me and my friend were looking for a specific sketchbook that we couldn't see on the shelf display or on the top shelf. I asked a store employee to help us and her name was Alyssa and she was EXTREMELY condescending,rude, full of attitude and not helpful. She didn't make any effort to really help us she showed us two spots which we had already checked and once she heard that out came the facial expressions and condescension she walked a few paces ahead of us and laughed when we had told her that we had checked those spots. And then proceeded to make more rude faces and then tell us ok have a good day in a clearly sarcastic tone and then walked away rolling her eyes clearly in front us. I buy some basic craft supplies only to find out I paid twice as much when I go over to Target next door for other items. I then do a review on Michaels official website stating the product was as expected but felt ripped off by the price gouging and they state the review doesn't meet their guidelines. I just recently moved to Jacksonville, FL a few weeks ago and needed a custom framing work done. Since I had a good experience with Michaels in PA, I went to this Michaels in JAX beach. The customer experience was very poor and the quality of the framing job was less than I expected for the $200 I paid them. The frame shop employee I dropped off the job with was very rude and brusque. It should have been a sign to me that she was fighting another customer when I arrived. I should have gone somewhere else, but I didn't have much time to get the framing done and didn't know a good framer in the area. I was promised a phone call when my frame job is ready, it never happened. I had to call in to get the pick up date confirmation. The employee I picked up the job from was equally bad. Rude, condescending, and has no bedside manner; let alone customer service skills. I was interrogated to prove I was who I said I was, even though I had my receipt with me; which I showed her and she didn't even look at. When I commented that the matting of my frame job covered more of the actual object more than I would like, she said that that is just how they do it there. She carelessly wrapped my package. When I said that this is not what I expected having paid $200 for the service and that I won't be coming back, she said "That's okay". Never once she offered a consolation or apology. I was a business owner once, I would have fired any front line employee who treated my customers as shabbily as those 2 Michael frame shop employees had done. If you are looking for a frame job, go somewhere else where your business is more appreciated. Now that I have been in the area a while, I know that there are others who are better, equally priced, and more customer focused. If you are a DIY framer, go to Hobby Lobby to get your supplies. They are more customer friendly and courteous, with a better selection and price. read more

I have been there 5 times regarding one framing project. First the glass came in scratched, and that delayed it, after I had already gone there to pick it up On the appointed day. I received conflicting emails and phone calls about it being ready, which resulted in more fruitless trips. Finally it's ready, but when I saw it, they hadn't followed my instructions about where to put the hanger, and the art canvas was mounted crooked- it was tilting at least 1/2 inch and anyone who looked at it would have seen that. One clerk- Rebecca- was incredibly flippant and rude- someone needs to give her some training in customer service. If I could give zero stars I would. Don't be tempted to bring your framing job here just because they are having a sale. They are incompetent and he quality of work is terrible- it's not worth it. read more

I've always had a positive experience here, but today, was by far, the worst. The cashier was named Ellie. She was rude! She was never sincere, seemed angry to be working. She rang up my items wrong. I went to the car and realized it was wrong so my son and baby daughter went back to her. I told her she rang the florals up wrong. They were supposed to be 80% off, but it was only 50%. She then argued with me that SHE didn't ring it up wrong, it was the computer's fault, as if that was supposed to make a difference. Then my 4 year old son put his hands on the counter and she rudely told him to move his hands off the counter. She never apologized for the inconvenience and tried saying thanksgiving items aren't on sale for that much. I pointed out to her that they were fall items that I picked out of the 80% off cart and for her to check it out if she'd like, she then called a manager who came up and said,"just give it to her" as if I was wrong and was begging for them to give me a discount. I am sure everyone knows Michaels is a huge arts and crafts store. They have everything for baking, wedding decorations, jewelry, painting, drawing, flower arrangements, sewing, stamps, and scrapbooking supplies. They have a good toy area for children's gifts that stimulate the mind with building and creating. They also have a frame shop in the back of the store. If you bring competitors coupons for framing they match that bargain. They always have weekly ad flyers and are always running 50% off deals. They also give you coupons when you check. Check online too...you can print coupons. Point being...you can get lost in here and the $$$ adds up quick...don't forget your pons! read more

After being a Michael's regular customer for over 20 years, they have lost this person all together after a less than professional attitude by the Pablo Creek store manager. It was a legitimate question/concern that was asked, politely and with no attitude, with receipt in hand, for an explanation on what I was told was going to be a nominal cost in the Framing dept to being charged about 4x higher at check-out - and since the item didn't have a SKU, the cashier couldn't accept any of the coupons or even discount the item. Manager had no interest in working through this - just directed me back to the Frame dept for an "explanation". He had no inclination to do anything but pass the buck. So it's being resolved my way - by never spending another dime with Michaels, either in-store or on-line. read more

Michaels has the best customer service of any craft or retail box store in the area. The employees are knowledgeable. Very helpfully and always so perky and happy. You can tell when the store is crazy and packed that they are so over it, but they still put a smile on their face when you walk up and help you find what you need and sometimes in my case things you really don't. Lol. They take you to the aisle walk you through the steps of what you are doing and offer suggestions. They know their product and tell you their experiences. They tell you about hidden coupons and show you what the best deals are. I wish they had more staff available, but the ones they have are great. If you don't think you can do a craft have no hesitation. They will sit with you and walk you through it. I have even called them from home for help. I can't say enough good things about this store. They are better than their competitors and in my opinion better than the other Michaels stores in the area. read more

I go to Michael's at least twice a week. I normally go to the River City location, but have traveled over 17 miles to the Beach Blvd twice now because there is a small difference in merchandise. Twice now, I have left this particular location with frustration. This location's manager has no common or business sense. seriously. The first time, they told me I could not use two coupons unless they were on separate cards. So I did not buy the second item. This time, I asked if I could use two separate cards and was told two coupons cannot be used by the same person in one day. So I didn't buy the second item again. So not only did you lose money twice, you actually lost it for good from me at this location. I'll go out of my way to somewhere else or pay more for an item just to not go back to this location. read more

The managers here are super RUDE and unhelpful!! Customer service is lacking. If you ask a question, you will surely get an attitude. It seems as though helping customers is an annoyance and inconvenience. Sorry for shopping with you???? Unfortunately, the employees are no better than the managers. Several people ruined my shopping experience on multiple occasions (NOT a one time thing; it is consistently an issue). Elle, Michelle, Richard, Veronica the list goes on. Terrible, terrible experience. I will now be going to Hobby Lobby or the other Michaels nearby. There is no reason to be disrespectful when a customer is uncertain or needs explanation. I've seen some of these employees be rude to CHILDREN who do not understand something. I left the store without my products even though I wanted them because people were so rude. I will NOT be shopping here again. Unbelievable. Also, if you want to go to the bathroom when they are closing, you will be denied. They tell you to go to Target.
