This Michael's is really mediocre. I only go here because it's close by. If you have time to make it to another one, go there. I prefer the Lynwood store over this one for a multitude of reasons. First off this store is DARK, like walked into a store thats closing down and half of the lights are already off dark. Nope thats the way it is all of the time. Its difficult to find store associates, and often times when you do they are confused about coupons both at the register and when you're just out and about at the store. The set up of this store also doesn't make any sense. Beads are in 3 different locations and it makes no sense. I understand sectioning off the kids pony beads and then the finer beads, but having them accross the store from each other is annoying. Especially since the prices for basically the same item are different. The entrance is also really confusing. You have to drive past Michaels and then into what looks like an Apartment/Business complex and wrap around the back of that to the Michaels parking lot. Its weird. I ordered an item online and paid for same day delivery ($9.99 + tax). I ordered the item well before the time cutoff to receive it before the end of the day. I didn't receive the item at all. When I contacted Michaels' Customer Service, I was told that I ordered the item after 1:00 PM and the item would arrive the next day. That was an outright lie. I placed the order well before noon. I asked for a refund of the delivery charge and associated tax and was told it would be 48 hours before anyone in the Customer Service Department could even look at my order to see if a refund was warranted. I still have not received the order and have been sitting on hold with Customer Service for 2 hours. Same day shipping is a scam. read more

Customer service is non-existent. Company website advertises curbside pick-up and I was trying to track my order placed a week ago. Website customer service phone is endless loop with nobody answering. Their online Chat hung up because there were "no assistants" to answer. They sent no tracking info. I think I end up stopping here for art supplies at least once or twice a month. Pretty good selection, and very fair prices. You can always find coupons for Micheals anyways! The only con would be this: I feel like there are never very many people working, especially for the size of the store. It's hard to find someone. The staff is super friendly though. If I was only allowed to describe this store in one word it would be ghetto. When are they ever going to fix it up? I have lived on the eastside for over 20 years and have visited this store on and off throughout those years. When are they ever going to replace the tile? Some aisles don't even have flooring! I have to do all sorts of illegal traffic maneuvers just to get in and out of the store, it's ridiculous. The only reason why I gave two stars are the coupons and the one cashier that was nice. Extremely disappointed. Shopped online for some Mother's Day items. They sent me the wrong order. I got a $3 can of spray paint instead of some art supplies. Contacted Michael's and asked if they could overnight what I had ordered so I could give it as a Mother's Day present. They said No, but they would give me a refund. How big of them... I am surprised by the poor reviews. Yes, this store is older, yes it's a little messy, but I worked at the Joann in Lynnwood and have a better experience at this store than i ever do there. I was here on Dec. 8th with the kids. The place is starting to look like the Dollar Tree in Bothell WA. Merchandise all over the floor and unorganized. The manager needs to ask store employees to tidy up the place if they intend to lure potential shoppers to buy more stuff they don't actually need. read more

I live nearby so it's convenient. It seems chaotic in here sometimes (as in product placement, but mostly when you first walk in with all those sale items or whatever clutters that front area), but I usually find what I'm looking for eventually. The staff are friendly and helpful. read more

This is the most poorly lit depressing craft store I have ever seen! The layout doesn't make sense and there are no helpful navigational signs except as you walk up to the end of each aisle. The Michaels at Lynnwood and Bellevue are so much nicer. Whenever I'm looking for something it seems like the shelves are overstuffed with useless dollar store googaws and everything I come for has a poor selection or is out of stock. I guess they don't really have any real competition near by and changing the layout/lighting would cost major bucks so I can see why they don't change. read more

Agreed: It's small, it's cramped, it seems disorganized inside, and parking required a bit of skill fitting in that lot. But I still found some great stuff and their discounted items (like the $1 bins, etc.) were better than some of the other Michael's. (Not as picked over? More to offer, maybe?) Friendly staff, awesome discounts but a terrible entrance. Very hard to get in and put of this parking lot.

I called in to see if they had non-drying modeling clay. After a few minutes to go check, the lady on the phone confirmed they did have it. When I asked in what quanities, she said I'd have to come in and look. When I said I was trying to learn the quantity and cost so I could determine if it was worth the trip into town (I live about 45 mins away), she said I'd just have to come in and check. I told her that could be a giant waste of time, and she said, "well we have clay. If you want to know how much then you need to come in and see for yourself". At that point I hung up. Customer service is not a priority. Parking sucks and is confusing for first timers... but still better then most parking situations in Seattle. read more

After on hold for 6 mins., I hung up and called again waited for 4 more minutes until some rude person picked up the phone, she abruptly told me they don't carry it. This is where arts and crafts go to die. This place has been here forever as I have been going for over ten years. You have to take some wierd roundabout and drive through some office building parking lot to come in (for one side of the street). It hasn't changed in ten years and is still dark and old. It's small for a Michael's, but the 2 points are kudos for the amount of product they cram in here. My biggest problem here is their customer service (when it's a chain, this can be a big judge from one location to the other). I went in last week and told them I was looking for feathers and glue sticks for my glue gun. I was careful to emphasize the last part. The girl points me towards...glue sticks for gluing paper etc. I ask someone else and I also tell her they are out of black feathers and ask if she can see if they have any in the back or in other stores. She says everything is out and I can go up to the front to ask them to check other stores. I go up to the front and the girl says she doesn't have a computer and buzzes another girl. The girl who SENT me there comes back and says she doesn't have one either and then she drags me with her to look for a scan thingy. She finds one and it turns out...it doesn't work, so back to the front we go and they finally get one. Now, they've rounded up all 3 employees I met previously plus a 4th to operate one stupid computer scanner. This is where one of those "how many Michael's employees does it take..." jokes comes in. She tells me Bellevue has 3 bags and Lynnwood has 13. I ask her to call Bellevue and she says, "oh or you could call." My response: "Or you could." And she tells me I could just go. I point out to her computers can be wrong especially when its a low quantity like 3 and I need all 3. She sighs, they all glare at me and she calls. Turns out, Bellevue does not have any! Shocker. She then says, "you can just go to Lynnwood. It says they have 13." and doesn't offer to call or anything. I can't believe I even gave them $10 of my business by buying the glue gun and glue sticks. After typing that and getting annoyed all over again, I've decided to move it down to one star. Oh my God. Never again. read more

I have had 3 original pieces of art that I had shipped from Scotland framed here. The framers have all been really helpful at selecting the right frame and matting and the pieces have turned out beautiful. There were a couple of pieces that needed to be reworked once I saw them, but they happily opened the pieces up and cleaned everything up to my satisfaction. Very happy with the results. read more

The staff at this location is helpful and will walk you to the section you need. One time when they didn't know they carried a product and I found it, I heard the clerk quizzing other workers if they knew if they carried it. He followed through by showing them were the product was located. Cashiers are friendly at check-out. read more

Poor customer service to say the least. The cashier "Mila" had the worst attitude. Ask her a question and all she did was nod her head yes. She had the rudest look on her face, like she was just annoyed at everyone. I know we all have bad days, but come on. Perhaps don't work face to face with customers then. read more

I went here on a Sunday afternoon 8/8/10 at about 4pm. With my two kids. I had one in a cart, and had to steer clear of 4 shopping carts filled w/ cardboard boxes, a push broom just left out in the middle of the store. I also had to wind around 3 stair ladders left in the middle of aisles. One aisle had a huge black display basket blocking the whole end of the aisle. So I had to back out of the aisle backwards. It was a horrible experience. Very unsafe for kids, and very uncomfortable to navigate around all of the mess and leftover garbage left out for the customers to see and fall on. Dark, unfriendly, pushy. RUDE! while working with someone to frame a piece of art, we were rudely interrupted by a manager (?), bossing the clerk I was working with and loudly proclaiming "you're off the clock and you need to leave now!" No "excuse me, but..." or any kind of apology. I had two pieces framed, identical and obviously a pair. Each was framed with a different hanging apparatus.....fingerprints on the inside of the glass and shoddy workmanship. I truly wonder if these people have even been trained! If you can actually SEE (very poor lighting) the merchandise, you may find what you need for your crafting, but don't expect help with what you are looking for, expect to be encouraged to buy other items you don't need. A lot of the newly hired on staff are just flat out rude... i went shopping there a few days ago, i could find what i was looking for so i asked one of the workers asking if they would know where i could find what i was attempting to buy. she said in a rude tone , oh, I'm working with another customer right now and i don't know where that is , you'll have to ask someone else...so then she walked off just leaving me there... after that i went on to another isle and apparently she was on that aisle as well and i heard her say to a female guest exactly what she told me and that she was going on her break in two minutes... I highly do NOT recommend going here... especially if there workers cant even take the time to do what their there for which is to help and serve the customers, and just because she was going to her break soon doesn't mean she has to be a B**ch, because that's exactly how she was acting and it wasn't just her... seriously the staff here are rude and I would waste my time shopping here.And if i was in charge,I would Fire ALL of those new workers if i ever found out thats how they were acting towards Paying Customers.
