That statement is 1/2 right. Looks like the Sol Dog on Prince now has a new name and that owner used to be part of Sol Dog but is not anymore. My dogs were boarded in May 2026 for 4 days. All did not go well. I have spoken to Justin and Shelley from Sol Dog and BOTH of them have now said "that's not how we normally do things". When I spoke to Shelley today and told her that they had to say, "that's not normally how we do things", for 3 separate issues her reply made me want to do reviews so other people could see that the service I got was exactly how they normally do things. Issue 1- on our tour of the facility (beautiful facility) we were led to believe that we would be allowed to settle our dogs in their kennel. We were not. Shelley said, "that people are not allowed in the kennel area". When I told her that we were taken into the kennel area on our tour, she said "that's not normally how we do things". Issue 2- We gave written on paper instruction on how to feed our dogs. and put the instructions in their system. Not complicated. One dog gets dry and wet food. The other gets wet food only. The dog that got wet food only was fed dry food. Sol Dog sent me a text on day 2 that they were almost out of dry food. When I called and questioned how they were feeding my dogs, I was told they were feeding them correctly. It wasn't until I sent them an email that they admitted to feeding my dog incorrectly. Guess what I was told??? You guessed it "that's not how we normally do things". Issue 3- Communication. I was told that someone from Sol Dog would communicate with me and let me know how the dogs were doing a couple times a day. The evening I dropped them off I did hear from someone. The next day Nothing. The 3rd day I sent a text at 730am and did not hear back till 330pm. GUESS WHAT? "THATS NOT HOW WE NORMALLY DO THINGS". Some issues I brought up with Justin that I didn't bring up with Shelley. My dog blankets and toys were not dirty, had no dog hair and smelled like I just took them out of my dryer. I had a lot of treats left over and if they were given to the dogs like I was told they would be, there should not have been that much left. Sol Dog left such a bad taste that I told them I would never board with them again. Justin and Shelley both agree that since they were told I would never board with them again that there was not much they could do to fix the issue. I was not told they were sorry. I was not offered any refund, not that I would have taken it. They did have to pay the staff to feed my dogs wrong and not give them their toys, blankets or treats. All in all, I feel like the experience that I had with Sol Dog is EXACTLY HOW THEY NORMALLY DO THINGS.

But Dr. Horton, all of the veterinarians, and all of the technicians and front desk staff are consistently excellent and I wish I could remember all their names!. Facility is great and I'll get to one very important detail about the facility in a minute, but it's spacious, plenty of room for customers and their pets, plenty of exam rooms, and a nice restroom, plus the pet-themed artwork is great. I really like the online presence, with automated scheduling, conversing with staff, and even the ability to specify technician or specific veterinarian. Now, based on my most recent experience, I wanted to call attention to the comfort room. Unfortunately I had to euthanize one of my cats last week, and not only did they get me in quickly - which should not go unrecognized - but that entire comfort room experience is about as good as it gets. The room itself is incredibly well thought out, with nice calming music, plenty of tissues, comfortable seating, the right low lighting (don't overlook that, it's part of the transitional euthanasia experience), and pleasant decorations. I don't mind one bit that there's some display of (forgive me if this isn't the right term) remembrance artifcacts depending on your method of handling the remains, I actually thought that was a nice touch. They planned this room out really well when building the facility, you can drive right up to it's dedicated entrance, so you don't have to walk through the main area crying your eyes out. But that's all about the facility, let's not forget how compassionate and sympathetic the staff who handle that experience are. And not fake sympathy either, legitimate care and concern. And great attention to detail. Whether it's routine care, purchasing supplies, or euthanasia, Dove Mountain Veterinary handles all of it deftly. And reasonably priced, too.

The pricing is pretty reasonable for a vet clinic and they even offer Saturday hours, which is really nice for those with a standard work week. They also offer specialty food and supplies for pets too. They seem to genuinely care and want the beat for your pets. Whenever our cats have had more serious health issues, they always call to follow up and check-in. I live about 30 minutes from this clinic and have multiple places that are closer to me now, but will keep my cats here as long as we live in the Tucson area. Highly recommended.

During my first visit, there was very little effort to establish a relationship or discuss my concerns. The appointment immediately became focused on scheduling my dog's neuter. (I should've taken this as a sign) My dog's first surgery appointment was canceled after we had already arrived because of staffing issues. No one called ahead, despite us taking time off work and preparing my dog by fasting him overnight. We rescheduled a month later (With a different surgeon, not by preference) Again, my dog fasted overnight and was dropped off early in the morning. We received no updates throughout the day despite asking to be notified if anything changed. Around pickup time, I CALLED THEM and was told they never performed the surgery because they "couldn't get to him." However, they still performed bloodwork and an exam and charged me approximately $185 even though the procedure we had planned never happened. What frustrated me most was the lack of communication. Had someone called earlier in the day, I could have picked up my dog sooner instead of having him sit at the clinic fasting all day. Between two canceled surgery days, missed work, and poor communication, I lost confidence in the practice and sought care elsewhere. I hope the clinic improves its scheduling, communication, and respect for clients' (INCLUDING MY DOG) time.

My dog has recurrent ear infections, which means he has a secondary illness. This was my first…read morevisit to this clinic, and honestly, there were many dogs in the waiting room some active and others more relaxed. The place is quite small, so the dogs couldn't be too close to each other or else you wait outside. My visit went well overall. The vet checked both of his ears and ruled out an ear infection, which I was even aware he had. They suggested giving him an injection and doing an ear flush at the clinic, while I would take oral medication home. I had to stop the vet there and asked, "How much is the injection?" I felt the vet was going too fast, and I wasn't aware of the cost. He went back to the office and returned without any paper in hand, just telling me the total would be $207. I then asked how much just the injection was, and he said $27. I gladly agreed, not realizing what else was included in the invoice. When they called me to pay, no invoice was provided. I was asked to pay on the spot. After that then I received the invoice and saw two medications that could have been bought at the pharmacy with coupons. I checked GoodRx and found I could have paid only $13 for both medications, instead of $62.10 at the clinic. I called the clinic to ask if they could provide a paper prescription, and the clerk confirmed they could. However, she mentioned I was supposed to ask for it beforehand. I explained that I told the vet I wanted the injection and only received the cost estimate. The clerk also said they cannot refund or reimburse any costs and advised me to ask for the prescription next time and hoping that I understood. I want to share this experience to advise others: avoid buying medications directly from the clinic, as they are often triple the price. Instead, create an account with GoodRx or a similar service to save a lot of money. I've learned my lesson be cautious and don't agree too quickly. I wish clinics were more transparent about costs and ensured that prescriptions are provided in writing to help you save money. I have to remind him to check other things. This time, I was charged for a feline leukemia vaccination that I didn't even request. I only knew it was given when my invoice was much higher than usual. $42.00 each for two cats. When I said I didn't think we got them, I was told it was combined with the RCPC. (I thought they stopped doing that years ago.?!) I said I hadn't requested it and I never get it for my cats, I was told by Shelby, "oh, that's my fault." Thank you for accepting responsibility, but that doesn't help that my cats got something I didn't want them to have and I'm out $84. I'll be looking for someone who specializes in cats. For some reason, the vet spends more time with dogs. Does he just not care for cats?
