Sadly, my opinion of Michael's has changed over subsequent visits. Mostly, this is due to the fact that the crispy crust I experienced during my first encounter never rematerialized. Instead, the crust has been flabby and floppy, which is not at all my preference when it comes to pizza, as it just ends up in a gooey mess. If this is your jam, by all means, give Michael's a chance. But for me, I think I'm going to look elsewhere in Stamford for the perfect slice of pizza. read more

How can my review from 6 years go not be on here? When all I wanted to eat during pregnancy was pizza,,, this was my top find. Fast forward 6 years, I remembered it when we were in the area. It was the BEST mushroom slice I've had in ages. Perfectly cooked crust with delicious flavor-- the whole crust is edible and easy to chew unlike others. Delicious sauce and cheese. And only $2.50 a slice with today's prices?? I walked in and there was a huge family party going on... everyone taking pasta and sauce out of the pots...It brought me back to my childhood visiting the Bronx and I really needed that comfort that day as it was my first time out since losing my Dad. He would have thought this pizza was the best. Just like the good Bronx slices we used to get. I really appreciate how friendly and kind they were too and so appreciative when I told them they forgot to charge me. Michaels was and will always be one of the biggest food staples I've ever had. I grew up eating their pizza, especially the Sicilian (I can honestly say it's ruined me for life and I have yet to try any remotely as good). Awful experience all around.. pizza is average at best and service was abominable. They took over an hour and a half to deliver and got the order wrong as an added bonus.. ordered large half sausage / mushroom half pepperoni.. they delivered a medium sausage.. we were starving and with the delivery guy gone ate the pizza and called to let them know the the issue anticipating maybe a small credit to make things right.. nope.. owner (or manager) was defensive and borderline confrontational blaming distance on long delivery time and said we shouldn't have eaten the pizza if we wanted a credit. Right.. we should have waited another 90 mins for them to get our order straight. No prob guys.. I'll just order from one of the other 490 pizza places in Stamford. read more

We ordered a pepperoni pie - crust was thin, not at all soggy, perfectly cooked, mozzarella sticks - probably the BEST I've ever had... Great Sicilian margarita pizza! They do a great jo at getting a nice crispy. Ase and yet maintain the fluffy softness of the dough as it rises. The cheese is a perfect ratio - highly recommend! The pizza was ehhhhhh. It wasn't horrible but it def didn't hit the spot. The biggest turn off was the overall sloppiness. The presentation of the food was lacking. I never believe pizza reviews because the pizzas usually tend to be gross. My boyfriend ran and got me some slices of cheese pizza. First, they made an entire pizza pie just so I could get 2 slices. 2nd, THIS IS the best thin slice of pizza I have ever had. It was really delicious. A very soft crust and tasty sauce. Seriously the best pizza ANYWHERE. Crisp but chewy crust, fresh sauce and everything you want in mozzarella cheese. I judge any pizza place on how outstanding their plain cheese, no frills pizza is and Michael's exceeds that test every time. I've been eating here since I was 3 years old. You must be sure to try their meatballs (the sub is to die for and the meatballs are even better on a pizza. No bagged Cisco meatballs here!!! These puppies are homemade and FRESH!) and their penne vodka. The penne vodka isn't on the menu but they DO serve it and it's the best around. Every meal with the Lionetti's is like a Sunday family dinner and michael's is the ONE and only thing I miss about living in Stamford. Run, don't walk here. You won't regret it. read more
