I have frequently gone to John's Pizza and have found the staff their very friendly. I love their antipasto's. The lettuce is always fresh and crisp and the ham is lean. And everything else in the salad is fresh with a wonderful mixture of various meats, cheese, olives, onions, and tomatoes and I am probably missing something. They always give me a role in addition so I can make a sandwich and still have much of the salad remaining. Their pizzas are also excellent. I highly recommend John's Pizza in Stamford. They have been around for a long time and the reason is obvious...because they have earned the trust of their customers to give good food at very reasonable prices. Look this is just what it is!! A great great location for great food and great family owned pizza shop!! It's a staple in the community and they even take care of the young kids that come by from the high school Every morning and from lunch. Not much seating but worth it!!! I'm giving it 5 stars why? Let me start by saying I love their bacon and pepperoni pizza! Lol tonight I called for a medium 2 topping pizza, the person who answered (I'm assuming the owner) notified me that he only had small or large.. I asked how much is a large 2 topping pizza he answered "18.50 with tax" - I asked if he thought a small would feed 2 people, he answered with "No.. how much money do you have? I'll cover you with whatever you don't have." I was a little embarrassed but I'm 7 months pregnant and a very hungry woman LOL he was soooo sweet to me! I let him know I was just pregnant and hungry & thought a medium would be best but a small would be ok. He said "if you want a large let me know I got it for you! Small or large?!" I love the food here. They shave their own steak for the steak sandwiches. The rolls are excellent. I haven't tried the pizza or the French fries, but both look excellent and are very popular with the nonstop stream of takeout customers thru the door. I have always wanted to check this place out but there was never parking whenever I drove by. I finally stopped in today and I'm so happy I did. Their chicken parm wedge was delicious, top of the mark. The chicken and suace were good but it was the bread and cheese that sent it over the top. Their slices were hidden from view when you walk in - making me skeptical of what I couldn't readily see. 2 slices in a can of soda, or Seltzer, or bottle of water for $5 is reasonable comma and it was edible, just not even close to being any sort of New York style and even though we're only 30 miles away. Over the past 5 years myself and my co-workers have eaten well over 100 pies from John's. As other reviews state it is a classic "Greek" pizza. The crust is medium thin and crispy covered with plenty of cheese and they never skimp on the toppings. I have read other reviews where they said the pie is undercooked and I have never had an undercooked pie from them. Its always perfect and crispy the way a pizza should be. Our only complaint is no delivery but that is a minor issue given its fairly close to our office. They have a frequent buyers program and this year alone we earned 4 free large pizzas; 3 free small pizza and 1 free grinder. I have also eaten the wings, chili cheese dogs, Gyros and other platters and all were good. But it is those giant heavenly wheels of dough, cheese and pork that keep us coming back every week. read more
