Longest slowest lines ever!! Every single time I come I spend 20+ minutes waiting in the line. I am literally never coming back.

I'm not sure if it's because of the virus but the customer service here has gone down the toilet. Within 24 hours of pick-up, the frame I purchased broke. I had asked the lady to put it in my trunk and who knows, maybe it broke while she was putting it in there but when I got home to put my poster in, I flipped the frame over and the glass had fallen out. I went back today to see if I could get an exchange, not even a refund, an exchange and the manager told me no. It was a very expensive frame and a thoughtful gift to my parents, and now I have wasted my money and can no longer give them their gift. I will not be coming to this Michaels anymore read more

This used to be my go to place for everything arts and crafts. They've since rearranged the store and it's AWFUL. The staff is unfriendly. The way it's set up now makes no sense. It's a mess. I asked a staff member to help me locate something and after 5 minutes of chasing him around the store I decided my cardio for the day was done and gave up. It's awful!! I always leave this place Unsatisfied. They don't have much variety when it comes to brushes, paint, and canvases. The customer service is horrible. I tried calling because I had a question about their frames and they hung up on me. They also never seem very helpful when I need something. Everytime I've gone in there and need help, I'll have to wait at least 5 minutes. Or if I ask where something is, they'll tell me instead of walking me towards the merchandise. read more

This review is strictly based on the curbside pickup option. Although I'm not usually a complainer, I feel that Michaels could use some feedback on this process. I opted to pickup items at this location because all of the Michaels in my county are temporarily closed (even for curbside pickup). I work somewhat near this location so I figured it would be convenient to pickup from this store considering I don't have any other nearby options. The email I received when the order was ready said that you could pick up until store close at 6pm so I made sure that I left work early to make it in time. Well unfortunately I was legitimately 1 minute too late to picking up my order. Upon arrival I followed the instructions to let them know I had arrived. There were 4 cars in front of me and 3 cars behind me. After waiting for a while and not seeing an employee come out I started to worry how they would know we arrived before 6pm. The two individuals behind me got out their cars to go ask if they were in the right place. I took it upon myself to roll down the window and ask them if they were also picking up from miachaels so I knew if I was also in the right place. They explained that the employee said he would be coming out and going down the line of cars to ask for order numbers and provide them with their order so I waited since it sounded like I was in the right place. Well just my luck, the employee comes down the line of cars and provides the orders for the 4 cars in front of me, but when he gets to my car he says that they are closed and no longer giving out orders. Mind you by this time it is about 6:10 and I waited expecting to receive my order so I was definitely caught off guard when he tells me "we're closed". He continues to explain that they stop bringing out orders at 5:55. When I check my call log to see what time I called in my order to pick it up it was 5:56. I was literally one minute too late, so myself and the 3 cars behind me did not receive our orders. I wasn't going to argue even though I thought it was silly that I arrived before 6pm just as the email said and was still turned away, but I realize that it's not the employee that implemented this process. The unfortunate part is that I ended up asking the employee to cancel my order because this is not my local Michaels and I don't want to have to leave work yet again to attempt to make it on time to pick up my order. It simply isn't worth it and at this point it's no longer convenient. I can definitely say that myself and the cars behind me were all there by 6pm. How hard would it have been to go inside and grab these orders???? read more

super extra terrible. i was going to make some crap as stocking stuffers and after a few trips to this mess, i've decided i'm no longer interested in being crafty. screw it! i'm buying the child labor produced crap! it's better with lil children fingers stuck on it right? service is terrible, as in, they must have planned how to be be completely ineffective in managing the cash registers, strewing glittery fake flowers on the floors, everything is askew and looks old. they're going for the antiqued look? the manager is a masochist and enjoys watching the suffering? micheal's at least try to clean up the front and not throw merch out front like a cheap garage sale. it's unseemly. read more

Great location, but I was really disappointed with the customer service tonight. The first person I came into contact with was rude and clueless as to what I was looking for, which was somewhat understandable because I was looking for wood stain, but she didn't offer any further assistance. After collecting my items, I went to check out and received the same level of customer service by the cashier. I asked a question and she had no clue and in general wasn't a pleasant person. No smile or eye contact. Hopefully the day shift is a little more on top of their game. read more

Okay so I stopped in to Michael just to see if their stickers were on sale I looked online I couldn't tell anything there was some online showing that they were on sale but in-store none of their stickers were on sale they had some paper that was on sale that was in a bulk and I went up to the register to purchase a couple 12 by 12 an 8 by 8 and the sign said scrapbook bulk paper was 40% off and I got up there and only one book was on sale the other one was not there sign was right in front of it nobody knew anything they had no ads in the storage even tell you what was on sale and the employees didn't even know what the heck they were doing they were walking around in circles it was the worst experience I've ever had in a Michaels and I probably will never go back I like being helped out when I need help not just point me to an area and say oh it's over there and then I walk over there and it's not there like they said they need better customer service in their store and their employees need to know where things are and what is on sale. read more

My review is 100% based on customer service. We all know michaels is a nice store with a ton of useful stuff. However, I called the store late in the evening asking if they carried graduated cylinders. She tells me, "yes, we do". Happily I said I needed one that's 250ml, what size do you have. She puts me on hold for about 10 min and then hangs up on me. Picked up the phone and hung it up. So I thought oh well, 250ml is pretty standard and she did say they had them, so I went in. I get there and I walk every isle. No graduated cylinders. I go to the cashier line, wait my turn, and happen to be helped by the same girl that answered my phone call. Though she acted like she had no idea that I just called and talked to her (she has a very unique name, it was without a doubt her). I told her I just called about the graduated cylinders, but I can't find them. She called someone who would know and then told me they're over there where all the glass is against the wall. So I went back though I had already looked. Nothing even remotely similar to a graduated cylinders. Thanks for wasting my time and lying to me instead of just admitting that no one knows what a graduated cylinder even is in the 1st place. read more

Do not sign up for any classes online for this store. They do not update their store's class schedule. I sign up for their cake decorating class online. Showed up to take the class and the store did not even know they were to have a class. Not good. read more

This store always has a great selection of craft items for making cards. They also have great clearance items in May and January. Now they also give teachers a discount with a school ID 15%. This is a plus since JoAnn's has always given the discount. I just wish they had more classes to take. read more

This is a review of michaels in Rancho Cucamonga and the two birthday parties that my daughter had there. Making your reservation is easy and I was able to pick the day and exact time I wanted. The cost was only $50 for 2 hours, the room, invitations, and the michaels employee to help with the party. I thought this was a great deal!! And especially because I wasn't doing it at my own house!! Anyway, we came in early to set up. We brought our own art activity, decorations, balloons, cake, drinks, pizza. Both times, the different girls who helped with the party were extremely sweet and did whatever we needed. There is a sink in the room and lots of tables and chairs that you can arrange however you want. I wished the room was a little bigger but it serves it's purpose and keeps your party to a minimum. I think we had about 10-12 girls and that was perfect. Everyone liked the idea and had a great time. The employees cleaned up the room and helped us to our car. We would recommend birthdays there. We liked it so much we did it twice! read more

I must say I love this Michaels. I love their store brand of yarn. It's inexpensive, the colors are great, and it washes well. They have great sales on yarn and eventhough I hate the wait at times the cashiers are always nice and apologetic when it's not their fault. I also like the selection of other things. Set up is horrible. Purchased an item online for store pickup. When you walk in there's absolutely no "visible" signs to direct you where to go for store pickup. As you walk around looking for direction you will see a BIG sign above the registers that says online store pickup. So you wait in line behind 10 customers. You finally get to the front and the clerk tells you "I'm sorry but online store pickup is at the BACK of the store". So you walk to the back of the store and AGAIN no signs that say anything about store pickup. You see a line of people for the "custom" frame work. So u assume this has got to be for the pickup as well. Sure enough it was. Who wants to wait 30minutes behind old man Frank and another 20 minutes behind Jane to decide which custom color frame they like better for their fruity picture?? Horrible Horrible set up!! Worst set up I've ever dealt with in any store I've ever shopped at. Last time I'll ever shop or buy from Michaels. Hobby Lobby is so much more organized and customer friendly when it comes to check out or online store pickup. read more

I went into this store with my family this last weekend. I was looking for something specific. I approached a lady who was stocking a shelf and deliberately was polite when asking her "may I ask you about how to find something." The response was the coldest response I have ever gotten from an employee in years! It was crystal clear I was bothering her. When she ever so reluctantly said "Yes" I paused, looked at her and said "on second thought, I no longer want your help", turned around and walked away. I hope she got the message, but I doubt it. I have been to this location 3 times in the last week, big selection, some of the customer service people are very good. And now for the bad, this is the worst managed establishment I have ever seen. 20-30 minute waits in line is normal, one register open only much of the time. The card readers are horrendously slow. 1 visit with about 10 people in line three registers open, then suddenly two registers close so they could go on break. 2? At the same time? WTH? This turned into a more then 30 minute wait. Another visit, I waited for 25 minutes, 1 register open most of the time, right when I got to the front another opened. I was double charged for the one item I purchased, I was thinking at the time, I misread the price so just kept on. Upon exiting I noticed I was double charged, the line was huge by then, the cashier said "oh did I screw up"? That was the first thing she said when I went back to her register, this tells me she knew she screwed up when she first rang me up and didn't bother to correct it, just double charge. Ridiculous. The line was so long, and I didn't want to add to the frustration of all the other customers so I just left, I'll eat the couple dollar loss. Poorly managed, poorly supervised, poor equipment at the register, decent selection, and a few employees who seem to honestly care. This adds up to 2 stars for me, and I will not be back. read more

I come to this store at least a few times a week. I sell hair bows so I'm alway here. I don't think it's as disorganized as most on here are claiming to be. I don't have a hard time finding anything actually. My o my complain is the line can all of a sudden get really long but that's not always a shortage of cash registers but people wanting price checks at register or trying to find their coupons. Be prepared people before you to the cash registers!! You can ask for a price check before you go pay!! I believe this location has an isle price scanner? Anyhow, every time I go there the customer service is pretty good. If I have a question from anything from clay molding to painting glass you can rest assure someone will be able to answer any question about any project. I had a project I was working on where I was distressing a dresser. I believe she was or is the asst manager, anyways she was so helpedful in helping me pick out paint and supplies. This was my first time doing this so I had no idea how to do it. Luckily for me she did this as a hobby too! I hope this store doesn't close down because of its huge rival that just opened feet away. read more

I can't say enough great things about Rachael in the frame Dept, she was so gracious and helpful. I needed two pictures framed for a guest book table for an event. She helped me pick out the frames and she even put the pictures in the frames and cleaned the glass. She has restored my faith in customer service. She should be employee of the month and get a raise. read more

I've shopped at a number of Michael's stores over the years and never had a viable complaint until shopping at the Rancho Cucamonga location earlier this month. I was with my 13 year old son, (who is very articulate, intelligent and has won numerous academic and scholastic awards.) I sent him over to one of the associates, standing in an aisle, to inquire where an item was and I remained in eye view of the exchange. When he sparked the attention of the associate by first saying "excuse me" in order to ask his question, she did not provide him with the basic respect or acknowledgment by even making eye contact and proceeded to "shout" very loudly, "It's on the other side of the store." In disbelief of what I had witnessed, I proceeded to the front counter and requested to speak with a manager. The cashier called for the manager over the intercom system and low and behold, the person who showed up was in fact the same disrespectful, unhelpful person I planned to voice my complaint about! As I began speaking with her about the situation, she also displayed a disrespectful, elevated tone with me stating how busy she was etc. I then asked her name, which she arrogantly pointed her name tag in my direction (reading Wendy) and spelled it for me. I advised her that as a person in executive management myself, I felt her behavior with both me and my son was unacceptable and I would further reach out to the Michael's corporate office to report it. Ironically, as we began walking away, I saw Wendy display a much nicer and more pleasant demeanor with other shoppers approaching her. Though I feel "pulling the race card" can often times be over used in this day and age, as one of few "diverse" shoppers in the store at that time, recognizing that her behavior with us was quite different than anyone else she encountered (for no apparent reason), I'm certainly leaning toward that conclusion. Unfortunately, to date, I've received no response from anyone at Michael's corporate offices. My hope is that this type of behavior is not reflective of what they condone in their management associates. Needless to say, we will no longer shop at that location and I will encourage others I know to do the same. read more

Went to buy some silk flowers that were 40% off. The checkout line was 13 deep with only two check out stations open. So, I determined five minutes of shopping was not worth a 40 minute wait to check out. Tossed the flowers and left. No sale for cheap operations. The store is nice and I like the location, however there is a guy working here who is rude as f#$*. Didn't catch his name but he is a young, overweight Latino who talks like an irritated Valley girl. I got the impression that he was some kind of supervisor, which was a surprise. He acts like he has the hardest job in the world (working at an air-conditioned craft store in a nice city) and just cannot be bothered with any customer questions. He blatantly avoids eye contact so you'll walk away. He was snippy with me and my young child when we asked him where we could find something in the store. At the registers, he seemed annoyed that he had been called up to help the cashiers with coupon questions. No smile, no warmth, no patience... He just had the air of a moody tween who hates the world and everyone it. Maybe because of his orientation he feels uneasy in the public, but that's not my problem and he needs to get emotional counseling before he holds a job in management or in customer service. read more
