Do *not* come here for framing. I'm here on a Sunday at 11:30AM with a simple custom matte order that was already spec'ed out at another Michaels. Framer is at "lunch" and no one else is qualified to help. With Aaron Brothers closing, it's unfortunate that Michaels will be the only game in town. The Michael's selection is pitiful - cheap product, frame selections that defy logic (there is no basic, smooth finish, white frame). It's probably time to find a custom framer that specializes is framing and actually *has* someone to help during regular business hours. read more

This store is always understaffed and you're bound to wait in line at the register for at least 20 minutes and inevitably, someone will go on break while the line is long. I thought I'd talk to someone there about getting a picture framed. The guy was TOTALLY clueless and if he hadn't been wearing a Michael's ID, I wouldn't have believed he worked there. I came in for a rustic 11×14 frame they didn't have much in that size the girl at the frame counter was very rude and quoted me 150.00 to 200.00 for them to make one also a 30.00 Matt i said no thanks no wonder they are not busy and the service isn't good dont go there if the girl with the flowered smock is working she won't help you to busy doing nothing. Not my favorite crafts store but definitely a go-to if you need something. It's awkwardly located at the back of the mall, so go behind everything (what a craptastic design for a mall, people) and it'll be right there. I was there midday and while it's nice and empty, it's also filled with women who just have to craft, you know what I mean? It's like a twilight zone Michael's. The ones where people start talking excitedly to you about their crafts/projects/tools even though you didn't make eyecontact with them! WTF! It happened to me three times! I feared I was becoming one of those people and decided to pay up and leave. No real customer service. I stopped here and was pleasantly surprised. This review is separate from the rest of the store, because the department is a store within itself and had a different level of staff professionalism. The staff I talked to had been working there for years (4 and 12). They had a nice variety of frames and worked with me to go over ideas. They were super polite, honest, and knew what they were doing. Their Masterpiece glass was amazing (though pricier). I ended up going to another shop because my piece was too big for their glass and was worried about covering charcoal with the acrylic version. But for smaller pieces I know I'll head back again. read more

Honestly, don't waste your time going to this michaels. I was waiting at curbside for almost a whole half an hour. I had to walk inside to get get my order. So immature. I went to go purchase something else and the only lovely thing about the store was my cashier Jazmin. She has such a great presence. She can brighten your day, she asked if I found everything okay and if I even needed assistance carrying my items to my car. Big props to that young lady. On my way out I noticed a woman wearing a trump2020 mask NOT even wearing it on her nose. What a shame. Oh my gosh and do not get my started on the managers!!! They are so rude and useless. What's not to love about this Michaels? It's a little smaller than what I am used to, but I still would not give it less than 4 stars! I found everything I needed, and two workers even stopped what they were doing to help me out with some of my questions concerning the beads (in the jewelry section). I definitely appreciated that customer service. The line was very quick too, so it did not take long for me to check-out upon exiting the store. This is my go-to Michaels whenever I am in the area. This review is only for the male manager who was on duty on august 11, 2017 at 11:45am. He has dark hair and was wearing glasses. I was standing in line waiting to check out after a very successful trip to Michaels when all of a sudden a man in a red vest/apron walked up to a woman standing to the side of a register and yelled "I'm not going to open all the boxes for you!" You could see the woman's mouth moving but I couldn't make out exactly what she was saying but her body language wasn't hostile in any way. The line moved so I was a little closer when I heard her ask him what am I supposed to do without instructions in English. And he said again to her, I'm not opening anymore boxes. (You could see a box just like the one in her hand on the counter so I'm going to assume he opened a box and it also didn't have English instructions )His tone was angry and his body language was incredibly tense. She was talking when he cut her off and said I can go look online and print off the instructions. She started saying thank you but then he just turned around and walked away from her in a huff. Beyond unprofessional but also down right rude. I asked her if she was okay and she said I was just trying to tell him I already looked online and there were no instructions. About two minutes later he called to one of the cashiers and told her to tell the lady there were no instructions online. What!? He should have brought his managerial self out there and finished with the customer. After his deplorable behavior and attitude for her daring to asking for instructions in English he then doesn't even come out to tell her or apologize for his earlier actions. If I were A Michaels manager and a customer came in with a discovery kids SCIENCE project that had no English instructions I would open as many boxes as I had to - to make sure the customer had a complete kit. As if the customer paid for an item, its imperative that they receive the complete kit. And being that it's a science kit, hello, yes it's important that they have the instructions. And as a manager, if I opened more than two additional boxes and realized neither had English instructions that would set off alarms. I would like to believe the Michaels corporation would rather have a proactive manager who would take the time to figure out if there was a problem with a science kit (and having no instructions in English for a science kit for kids is a problem) than blow up at a customer in front of everyone and then go hide in the managers office without further investigating. And if it turns out there are no English instructions for that science kit and someone buys it for a kid who then uses it with no directions and something happens, you better believe Michaels will be named in addition to Discover Kids in a lawsuit. This should serve as a warning to Michaels management. Do better. Treat customers with legitimate questions and requests with respect. At worse the manager could have apologized to the customer and said I will refund you the money as we cannot find English instructions and it's not safe to have anyone use this. And then I would have removed all the other kits and contacted Michaels corporate for further direction. read more

This is the closest Michaels to my house and I've never had any issues here. They have always had what I am looking for and the store is always fully stocked. I love crafting so I enjoy just coming to look around to get ideas on my next project. They also usually have plenty of parking too. read more

I ordered two identical custom framed items and was told they would be ready on Sunday, 12-18. I was told to call in earlier to see if they might beat that date. I called on Tuesday, 12-13-22, and was told to hold. I did so for 10 minutes without connecting. I called again on Friday, 12-16-22, and was told their phone system was not working properly. They asked for my name and number and they would deliver it to framing to call me. There was no call back. I called late Sunday afternoon (the due date) and was told the phone system was problematic. But they asked for my name and number again to give to the Manager to check status and get back to me. I received a voicemail from the Manager noting that my project was ready for pick-up. I drove that night about 16 miles round trip to pick up my two identical items. The framing associate found one ready. She found the other IDENTICAL item incomplete in back. There was a note on it saying that I was left a voicemail from the Manager noting that the order would be ready for pick up the next day. That was a lie. My voicemail said the order was ready to pick up now. Between the phone service and internal messaging (lie note), this is some of the worst customer service I have had anywhere! read more

Ok I love Michael's so much .. it's like my favorite store to shop but this branch in particular is my least favorite I tend to go there a lot because it's the closest to my house but if I get a chance to go to a different one I'd absolutely do As for some reason they are always missing some products I can't find everything I need in this store Plus the lines sometimes are really long especially closer to holidays or weekends what makes me go early on weekdays to avoid the crowd But I do love Michael's a lot .. for me it better than other craft stores and whenever my friends ask me what to get me for my birthday I always say .. Michael's gift card .. lol Btw if you can download the app please do because other than the 40% off coupon they usually offer they sometimes offer 50% on one item Or sometimes 25-30% on all regular price items! Holy moly, ordering online and pickup is awful at this store, I wouldn't recommend it at all. The staff member I spoke to was unbelievably rude to me after I had to call because items were missing from my order. I hope other Michaels stores have more helpful staff because it's the second time I've felt the staff to be rude here. We have had nothing be good success with this store, we go in we do get asked if we need help and we are able to tell the staff what we are looking for and they are able to direct us to that location. The main reason we are not giving this a perfect review is each time we want to check out, we had to wait. Either they do not have enough staff for check out, or they are hiding around the store, either way it is funny how store would not want to staff up to take peoples money when they are willing to give it. read more

This location is hard to find especially if you are on the Saratoga side of the mall strip with a GPS. The GPS will tell you that you are at your destination, but you can't see it. The mall says there's a Michael's and you walk in and can't see it. Check the directory and it says it's in between Nordstrom Rack and Ross, but it's actually outside the mall on the opposite side parallel to Saratoga =| I was so frustrated trying to find this place and to top it off, they didn't have all the tools I wanted and the selection was pretty small much to my chagrin. On the plus note, a very friendly woman asked me if I needed help as I was on my way to the cashier. Michael's has an amazing, diverse, selection of affordable crafting supplies that you can't find anywhere else. Yes, there are other crafting supply stores but they seem to carry a little bit of a lot of different crafts were as Michael's specializes in scrapbooking, cake decorating, art, floral, framing and home décor. In each of these categories, I am always able to find what I'm looking for. They also carry a wide variety of general crafting supplies as well. Tips for shopping at Michael's- Be prepared for an Aladdin's cave. Over stocked shelves that have been riffled through by thousands of shoppers who could care less about returning things to their proper spot. The employees on the floor are usually doing two jobs, stocking shelves and customer service. Unfortunately, the later tends to be ignored. I do hate to give negative reviews... I try to see the best in places and hope beyond hope that my negative experiences can be justified... maybe the rude employee who bad mouths customers while other customers are in the aisle, is cranky b/c she missed lunch or the young man sweeping is sullen b/c he's surrounded by so many cranky old ladies. Whatever the reason, this place has gone downhill. It's understaffed and when you do encounter an employee, you might as well ignore them b/c they're sure as heck ignoring you. Unless you encounter one woman (don't recall her name) who is rude and accustory, questioning why you're at the store rather than asking politely whether she may assist you. The product... they don't have the same variety as larger Michael's stores and their scrapbooking section doesn't have the best selection of brands. The store is small and cramped but I have shopped here in a pinch. I purchased an online order for pick up, when I got my email confirming that my order was ready I went to the store to pick up. After 20 minutes of looking, the staff said they didn't know where my order was and that they could only find two skeins of the yarn I had ordered in the back. I asked if they could refund me for the other 2 skeins I purchased online and they said they would have to cancel the whole order and I could pay for the two in store up front. The yarn is being discontinued and is very difficult to find so I was very disappointed that I was never contacted about my order being unavailable. The staff were very rude and didn't offer me a discount or offer to help me order it from another location. I will not be shopping at Michael's anymore. read more

Small location, quite a few people at the store since I went on the week of Halloween. Merchandise were mostly out since it's Halloween week. Haha. I came here to get an Orange Candy Melt and I thought they ran out... but they were on the other aisle. I forgot of the name of the associate who helped me but she was very kind and helpful. She seemed busy doing her restocks on the other aisle but she still helped me find the things I was looking for. Cashier line gets long at times but it moves quickly. I'm reviewing this again because I can truly say I hate this store and feel the urge to mention a reoccurring pattern. I came here the other day to find a storage solution for my earrings. I wasn't picky and needed anything with a bunch of holes in it. I spent a good few minutes trying to find an associate in the store. It isn't even a big store. I can never find anyone to help me at this location. I finally asked one lady and she was useless. I decided to look for someone else which took me another few minutes and she was useless as well. Their attitude was that they were too busy to listen to me and didn't care about what I needed. I gave up on my search and decided to look at their jewelry and possibly get creative. As I was looking around, I noticed a large group of associates in a room towards the front joking and laughing about how "cute" something was. I know they were associates for sure because they all had their uniform/nametag. I don't understand why they're standing there, goofing around, when customers need help. Soooo that irritated me... I decided to look a bit more at jewelry and I noticed an associate go up to her supervisor and say "I'm bored. I need something to do." REALLY??? Go find something to do! *FACEPALM* I really hate this location. I never want to come back here. Their associates are useless. read more

I called in for a stock check o. Items listed in stock at the store. Kristen answered the phone and said she needed to get someone who could do a stock check. I was left on hold for 40 minutes before a gentleman picked up the phone asking if I needed to be helped At this point I had started driving to the location. This individual went to get a manager to check on the quantity of items for me. The manager, Daniel, picked up and asked me what I needed checked. I had to repeat myself multiple times because he didn't think he would need a pen for checking number items. He went to check the items and told me nothing was in stock, that the website was not actually accurate as to what was listed as in stock. At this point I was already at the store. I did ask if there were similar items to what I wanted and he told me no. Since I was already here I checked myself and lo and behold there were. Frustrating, management doesn't even know what it's doing. At this point I was just so peeved off I left instead of spending any of my money at this location. read more

This place tries to make me regret buying art from abroad that is not to our regular US dementions. Making just a frame to stretch a canvas over is outrageously expensive...$160 for a 30 by 30 and they don't even have the right tools to do it, and they don't consider it a frame so no coupon can be used! Last week I walked into the Micheals store on Saratoga. I was shocked as I witnessed the Manager and District Manager cornering and yelling at one of the employees. As I gathered she had tried to meet privately with the District Manager to talk about problems concerning the Store Manger and other employee complaints. Mr. Zezen the District Manager decided to handle the "problem" of her complaint infront of the entire store and custormers. I over heard him say to the Manager that he had taught her a good lesson. This 2009, this type of behavior is unacceptable. As I went to the front clerk I told her how upsetting this was, she was frightened. When I called to talk with the manager, he totally lied to me about how to contact their supervison. What a sleeze ball. I think their is some real problems with the upper management there. read more

Avoid this Michaels location!!! Terrible customer service! There is never any employees on the sales floor to help find items and the lines move sooooo slowly. The cashier that helped me was unreasonably rude and when I found out she was the store manager I couldn't believe it. If micheals corporate office has any sense at all they would retrain that general manager on basic customer service skills or just fire her and save the themselves more bad reviews. There's clearly a labor shortage because the people that work at this store are the residue that's stuck on the bottom of a barrel. I kid you not the incompetence is staggering. First I called to check if they had an item I was looking for. Instead of listening to what I was asking the woman who answered the phone kept asking me if so saw it on their website. When I said no that I wanted to know if they had it in the store she didn't say anything. Just went completely silent. I could hear the conversations in the background but even though I kept saying hello are you there she stayed completely silent. So I hung up and called back asking to speak with a manager. Same woman said okay and put me on hold...and left me on hold until I finally hung up. If anyone from Michael's bothers to read these reviews, it was on Jan 2. First call was at 2:55 pm. I stopped by to get some blank shirts for my son on 2/9/12 and the entire shopping experience was poor. 1. I walked through the entire store twice looking for someone to help me find what I was looking for and I couldn't find anyone. So I had to stand in line at the checkout to get help. 2. While standing in line a customer in front of me had been waiting for many minutes to be rung up and the manager who helped her was annoyed with the customer being annoyed and she rolled her eyes at all of us. 3. After being directed to the items I was looking for, I heard an employee complaining to customers that it wasn't his fault that things were out of order, because he hadn't put them out. 4. At checkout, I had several things I was purchasing. (I am aware of the new bag laws and that I would have to pay a dime for a bag.) I did not have a bag with me and I was unable to carry all of the items in one hand and was not even offered a bag to purchase. Because I was injured, I needed a bag, to carry all of the items. The cashier was not kind in offering a bag to me. She also smelled like a walking cigarette. Horrible service. I will be hard pressed to ever go back to this store. read more

My husband is a wood shop teacher who injured his hand on the table saw, and he needs to go back to work. This Michael's had cool 3D wood puzzle sculptures VERY clearly marked for 79 cents!!. Perfect I thought, for my husband's students while his hand is recovering - so I loaded up my cart, get to the register, find out they ring up at $3-$5. So we contact the manager, who goes back to check, and calls up to my checker to say the price was for something else. When I go back to talk to her, she has just removed all the incriminating tags and hadn't even waited to talk to me!! Talk about a sucky end to a long day. I have been shopping regularly at this Michael's for eight years, but I'm planning to go elsewhere. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! SO SAD!!! Get it together people, you can do better! read more

This place is AWFUL. This is my second time in here and I had to wait 25 minutes to be able to ask someone where I could find something. The way I had to do this was by standing in the checkout line for 10 minutes (without anything to check out) since it seemed that the only employees were at the checkout counter. To make matters worse, I diligently called ahead to confirm that they had in stock what I was looking for and it turns out that the guy on the phone had NO IDEA what he was talking about.
