Stopping in for a calendar book, I know Im late in the game being that we are already in February. So disappointed that i didn't find anything, not one single calendar book in any size, uggh. They are ready for spring and Easter with some great decorations and gift ideas too. Loved the blue decorations for the laundry room and the feminine bathroom and tea decor. They always have some sort of sale with great savings for your wallet. There was so much I wanted to take home with me but I had to really think if I would get ling term use from it.

Came here to check out their Halloween merch and it didn't disappoint. I personally like the idea of incorporating pink into holidays for the sake of keeping pink as a general light aesthetic theme for my home, makes it so I don't have to constantly phase out one set of holiday decor just because it doesn't match my new set. Michaels now has Halloween decor that incorporates pink and I was in love at first sight! I ended up limiting myself to a pink skull but the other merchandise they had was gorgeous. It gave off a very vintage/spooky vibe which I loved. If you're looking to make spooky not only fun but also sprinkled with pink definitely check Michaels Halloween section out. My sis in law and I also walked around looking for good deals and random things we liked. It seems like they have quite a few Halloween craft activities as well as Dia De Muertos crafts as well. With almost everything being 40%-50% off we got some good deals and spent under $50, the cheapest Michaels trip I've ever had haha Plenty of parking, employees greet you when you walk in, there's always carts ready when you walk in the the left and the seasons hot topic is always presented in the front when you walk in. A great location to shop at!

Arrived here on a Saturday around 11:45 am with my sister to purchase some art supplies for her. It's a great plaza since Michaels is there for arts and crafts and dollar tree is next door for any items you want at a cheaper rate. Spacious parking lot so nothing to worry about. Michaels always coupons posted on their website so you'll save money nonetheless. We got 4 items- 2 sketch books and 2 graphite pencils. They've automated their checkout process with about 80% being self serve kiosks since majority of customers pay with card. I like how you can easily find posted coupons on the kiosk so you don't have to scramble for your phone for a certain QR code. Easy check in to find my items and seamless check out process.

Items are same brand and price but can't do an even exchange on the same day and have to come back another day to do this...

I bought a 24x36 frame and realized I got the wrong size. I came back same day a few minutes after my purchase to exchange for a smaller size (20x28), same brand, same sale price as well for 7.99 (I also used a $5 coupon and didn't want to lose the discount). The woman at the counter told me I have to come back in two days just to do that. I told her I'm not happy with this policy that makes no sense and want to just return the frame, she said I can't return it today and have to come back in a few days. What a very stupid and inconvenient system this is for something so simple. Not coming back here.

    This doesn't make sense!

Ordered curbside pick up and I've been waiting in the car, didn't know it's inside the store pick up. Very slow customer service.

    This was the only sign.

I used to knit a lot, but lost interest a couple years ago, and recently decided to try and get back in to it. When I arrived at Fillory I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help with anything. I asked for a simple pattern to help ease me back into knitting. The staff member (maybe the owner?) guided me to a table covered in free patterns they were giving away for LYS day and said I should pick one and then they would help me find the right yarn for the pattern. I picked what I hope is an easy shawl pattern and then another staff member led me to the appropriate yarn section. There were so many choices of beautiful yarn I had a hard time deciding. I finally settled on a skein of Malabrigo in variegated shades of blue. I didn't see the needles I needed for the project, but it turned out they had them behind the counter. It was so convenient to be able to buy everything I needed at once. To top it off, they offered to wind my skein right then and there. Usually yarn shops don't offer this service on special days like today when the shop is crowded with customers. Fillory has been around for many years through several owners. They have a large selection of yarn and helpful employees who work hard. There is also a dedicated space for social knitting if you want to drop by to knit with others. They offer a variety of classes, too.

After my trek, Fillory Yarn was like an oasis. I immediately felt welcomed by the coziness of the store (it's very welcoming and inclusive), as well as the very friendly and helpful employees. Multiple said hi and welcomed me in, asking if they could do anything for me or if I needed any assistance. I've only recently begun to get into knitting and I loved their social knitting table! More stores should have that. I live in SF and I suppose SJ stores have more space for that. There were multiple people sitting and knitting and chatting. I also appreciated their sale section! I didn't buy anything from that section, but considered it. I also got a 5% off discount off my first purchase for joining their loyalty program. Everyone was so very helpful and friendly, quite a few employees and they all asked if I needed help. I loved their examples of items that were made with yarns they sold. They have an extensive collection and variety across types of yarn, materials, yarns for different items, books, accessories, and items across different price points--there is something for everyone and anyone, which makes sense. Fiber arts are political and I've been very impressed at how stores and fiber arts communities are welcoming everyone of all backgrounds into the fold. I'm disappointed but not surprised that some Yelp reviews reflect people who don't appreciate that inclusivity.

I was surprised to see they had moved. The new location is still in cute downtown Los Altos, but seemed smaller than I remember. Rent must be so high for shops downtown. It seemed like their inventory was reduced, too, but it could be that the new shop was arranged differently. Or I may be misremembering. The staff person greeted me immediately and came over to see if she could help me find anything. The store was busy while I was there, which was nice to see. The selection of yarn was good with many brands I'd never heard of before. They had some beautiful silk yarn I was tempted to buy but didn't because I wasn't sure what project I would use it on. They also had beautiful knit and crochet samples throughout the shop.
