All of their systems are not synced between stores. I've been hopping around michaels and they tell me "this michaels had what you're looking for" and I waste time and money driving there and they say "no we're out of stock". Very rude and both their website and internal systems are wrong regarding stock. Absolutely infuriating. read more

What an awful shopping experience!! I tried to use one of their store coupons, but the lady was so incompetent. She couldn't figure out that 25% of $25 is not $1.50. Really, how complicated is it to figure out third grade math? Her co-worker was even more rude and stated that what the computer generates should be correct and there wasn't anything she can do about it. Manager-on-call was at lunch (at 6:00 pm)?? Really, this transaction did not need to be this complicated. If they didn't want to honor their own coupons, they shouldn't offer them. Plus, in a recession, you'd think that stores would appreciate customers making large purchases. I guess not. Never shopping at this store again. Leticia the store manager is very rude i dont know how she got in that position i brang my coffee in the store and she told me i cant have drinks in the store to leave my drink on the counter or out side i asked why would i leave it on the counter in the store if i cant have it in store also where is the sign saying no drinks allowed there was not one she kicked me out and told the cashier to not ring me up i told her i would keep my drink in my cart and not drink it she shut me down before finishing and told me to get out the store i told her im a paying customer and she told me she did not care to call corporate is i want and walked away dont go here very rude service must suck working for her! read more

First of all, thank you Michael's, you've helped me with my projects throughout middle school, high school, and even several DIY projects thereafter. I love DIY projects! From mason jars to to large frames, this place has got it all. This Michael's in particular is well organized and you find things easily. My S/O bought a couple frames here. It was buy one get one free which was a steal! The frame he bought costs about $40, so having a second one to bring home for free was great. He really needed two so it worked in his favor. This store is terrible. Super slow, takes forever to check out. Not a single person onn the fLoor to help and if yOu do find someone there usually rude, unfriendly and not helpful. Came in today (Nov 27, 5:30pm) to buy about 20 plus candles, plus some other items, and when we got to the cashier, the experience from her was extremely rude. She was on the taller side with brown hair, about the 3rd person from the left at the cash wrap. After she scanned our 20 candles, the price did not reflect what it was online. We asked to price match on the website, and she said "it's already been discounted." The price was off, and she was lazy to do the calculations. Even if she was lazy, she should have at least called the manager to address the problem. Put that to the side, their carts were unable to take outside. This is absolutely ridiculous as other Michael's locations did not had this rule. When asked if we could bring the cart outside as we have 20 large candles and other things, she blantly said no. I said, "So do you expect us to bring this out 1 by 1?" She said, "yes," with an attitude. At least offer us some solutions, like help bring it out, or put an exception for the cart. However, we asked politely for an empty box to put in, in which they had a lot behind them, she also said no. Are you serious? Is this how you handle customer service? The guy next to her at the cash wrap gave us a solution of putting the car by the door and parking the car up front. Not ideal, but at least he tried, and all she said was "we can give you a bag." These candles will rip through these bags. Please use some logic and common sense. Even said to the guy, "I liked your customer service more than her," and she rolled her eyes and signaled her hands at us. What is that supposed to mean? If I ever come back to this Michaels, which is least likely, and I see her again, I will report her to the general manager as rude and unhelpful. read more

I like this store location a lot. But really find the manager Claudia is an awful person. She's rude, and mean, terrible with her words towards customers. It's no wonder the employees are walking dead occasionally. I hope corporate get rid of her ass since she seems privileged to walk like she owns the place. A simple "no problem" or "hey let me help you" or "is there anything that I can do" would go along way. Order online and I got an email today saying it has been picked up at 10:44am. I am at work all day so how is my items picked up. Called to the store and was forward to the manager (Claudia Rios). She says my items are still here. Why would they send me an email saying my items are picked up? I know this is the last day to pickup and item should be automatically refund if its not picked up. They did that purposely scanning items saying its picked up so if you want a refund you would have to go there and do it. Supposed to be convenient for customers and now it just inconvenient and shady. read more

A few weeks ago, I ordered some Cricut vinyl rolls on Michael's online, the night before, needing them for the next day. There was a miscommunication with the order and I didn't hear anything about the order. Worries I wouldn't get my order in time, I contacted the store (and door dash who delivers the order) and they didn't know what went wrong. I came into Michael's tasked by my wife to get a special wedding piece framed with absolutely no clue how framing works or what I should get. Thankfully Chris from framing was there to walk me through the process and made everything easy and simple. I told Chris what we were looking for and let him select everything. Not only did he pick out the best framing and explained why he picked those out, he was able to keep the price super low. If you are even slightly interested in getting anything framed, from baseball cards to jerseys and more, give him a call. They really tick me off. You may or may not believe me but I ride a unicycle. I rode my unicycle to a near by Michaels l, this Michaels and I couldn't bring it inside, I couldn't walk with it or even carry it. They said I had to leave it outside. Absolutely AWFUL. Protocol instead of common sense & miserable attitudes too! Everyone seems like they really dont want to be here... And dont even think of using coupons or discounts or they REALLY turn into Homeland Security. Paid for over $50 worth of stuff online that I had politely gathered for them & asked to hold up front while I was at the store earlier. They refused to give me the items when I returned to the store 4 hrs later claiming they needed to wait till I received an email that the order I already gathered for them was "ready" when I tried to explain this & that the items I have already paid for are sitting up front ready to go, I got the brush off & rudeness & threats of being asked to leave. Pretty sure the email is sent when the store bothers to get the order together. Obviously they were trying to power trip unneccessarily. Sad. I wish I could love this store because it's close to me but I have never shopped somewhere that people are so grumpy and look like they absolutely hate their job and have no desire to help you or be there. I've seen so many people get cussed out by employees and treated rudely with pick up orders. I understand that y'all want to be careful, but there is nowhere in the pick up process where it says to open your trunk (see photo below) so when you come out and get angry at me for not opening my trunk I really don't appreciate it. I never leave reviews but I am so sick of people being this angry and rude regularly. It's absolutely ridiculous. It bothers me that I can't give this store more stars as it is the closest location to me so it should be the most convenient. Unfortunately, convenience costs. While I never experienced the quarter into the cart thing people mentioned from earlier in the year or the accusations of stealing things (I always tell at least one staff member I'm bringing things in to avoid any such predicament) - I have experienced unhelpful staff & cliquey staff. Keep in mind that the holiday season is coming and therefore seasonal hires will be just that - temps. Their main job is supposed to assist the actual, experienced team members in assisting you so if you don't recognize someone - don't bother? I've been cut trying to pick out a planner before and was aided with a band aid as soon as they found one. It did take a minute so if you're concerned, bring your own alcohol wipes & sanitizer, lol. I've never experienced rats or bugs in this Michael's but it's honestly a giant craft warehouse so I wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't expect too much from the aisles that don't get moved so often. What really, really bugs me is that every single time I come here I get sent to the same person. I love her, don't get me wrong, but I feel bad for her. How can you have an entire store full of people who just has no idea how to search for something? I am so tired of people telling me that the online database doesn't accurately show the inventory for the store. Obviously, it takes time to get updated but when it shows me that there are multiple shelves in stock then there is. Furthermore, I was assisted in finding the shelf once and it turned out to be a willy wonka looking shelf because it was all sorts of topsy turvy (manufacturer issue) - am i really to believe that you've suddenly run out the day after when no staff is able to find it still?? That just tells me you haven't been able to sell it cause you cant find it. Unbelievable. Anyway, no matter what happens at Michael's - I always get sent to Monica. She knows the entire store inside and out and works in the frames department, too. If you order online, you're more than likely to pick up from her. I love Michaels but have a MAJOR issue with this location... My daughter, who is almost three went shopping with me and was going to pay for her bubble machine with her own money that she collects around the house and is rewarded with. As my daughter went to pay, I handed her the money and her coupon and the clerk told us that it is one coupon per customer, per visit, per day. ...okay, so I ask her what is the problem? She told me that Michaels doesn't take money and coupons from "little people". (REALLY!!!) I was super offended that this person didn't consider my child a patron. I told her I thought that was lame and payed full price for it. This really didn't sit well with me and kind of hurt my kids feelings as she thought she was being told she couldn't buy it and proceeded to cry. Michaels coupons don't list an age disclaimer on their coupons because it is a lawsuit for age discrimination in the works. Well, after thinking about it all day I decided to call and speak to a manager and talk to her/him about it. I spoke with a lady who told me that a manager would call me the next day and she also said that Michaels doesn't have an age policy for purchase... she also said that she would be mad and hurt if someone refused her five year old grand daughters money to purchase an item. I'm still waiting for the managers call... I think I'm going to just avoid michaels and spread the word about this discriminatory practice until justice is served! Very unorganized and unprofessional when it comes to their online orders. I walked in showing my order to the guy and asked where do I go to obtain my order...all he said was hold on. I waited and waited then finally asked him are you helping me or am I supposed to go somewhere else for my order? Hold on was the reply. Finally after 10min of waiting another guy comes up and asks if he can help me so I show him my order. He says okay I'll be right back. I ended up going outside because I was too hot in the store. I waited for another 20min before walking back inside to ask "what the heck is going on, are you making the pillow?" The cashier laughed but went to jump on the problem and found out the guy who told me to hold on wasn't even where he was supposed to be nor was he helping me. About a total of 40min of wait time I finally received my item. Unacceptable for an online order with a half empty store. Not the first time I've ran into a problem at this location, today was just my final straw. read more

This review is for the framing department only. My mom went here to have a tapestry she bought from Italy framed. She was helped by one of the framing experts, Chris, who inspired me to write this review. He was extremely helpful in picking out a frame and always seemed to have the right suggestions in mind. Even helped us get the best price. We have yet to see how well the frame job will turn out, but if the quality is on par with the service, then I think my mom will be really happy. EDIT: 9/5/09 So the frame job is in and the results were absolutely amazing. The tapestry looked nice before, but it's gorgeous in a frame. Everything just seems to pop more. Protip: go for the glare-free glass. Worth it! Hats off to the framing masters who made my mom so happy! read more

I went in to purchase a sketchbook and because it was crazy busy I thought it would be easier to just grab what I need and leave. The cashier was understandably aloof from dealing with coupons and customers and only seemed mildly annoyed at manually punching in the PLU from the return receipt taped to the book. When I got home I realized that I not only did the book contain sharpie scribbles, but pages had been ripped out and the binding was broken on the inside. I could have avoided this whole fiasco had I just thumbed through the book in the store to check it's integrity. Still, upon trying to return it, I was accused by the cashier (a different one) of damaging the sketchbook myself. It wasn't until I asked to see the manager that I was able to make an exchange for a whole product. She was still barely able to hide her skepticism. I know customers can be difficult sometimes, but as a long time patron of craft stores, I have never seen such a poor display of integrity and decorum. read more

There is no real rhyme or reason to how this Michael's is set up. I can usually find my way around a store, and this applies to the two other Michael's stores I've been to in the South Bay, but this one is just utter chaos. Granted, it's neat enough,but the isle setup is completely bipolar. For example, why are there M&M's on the end caps of the dried flower isle? And why is the fabric dye nowhere near the t-shirts and other dyeable fabric items? That aside, they do have a lot of stuff, and at decent prices. They always give me coupons at checkout, which is also nice. My only other problem is that there is never anyone who can help me. Every time i need assistance I'm told the person who handles that department only works two days a week, or is out sick. Seriously, people, you need to cross train your staff, or have more "experts" on the clock. I can't just come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays because that's the only day you have someone who can help me. Life doesn't work that way. read more

1st review, but I have used them multiple times before for custom framing on both of my Picasso's and a couple of jersey's. This time the wife and I came in for frames and mats for our wedding pictures. Found the frames, but couldn't find the mats we liked. Annie offered up her services for special ordering the mats, which we had no idea they could do just the mats w/out the framing too. Because what mama wants mama gets. Tim and Annie are always very helpful and I will always bring my art and pictures to them for framing, they are the best. My Picasso's look amazing and i'm sure our wedding photos will be just as impressive. read more

I don't know what the deal is with all these bad reviews. I come to this location at least once a week. I can always find what I am looking for, and when I can't someone is always available and friendly asking to help me. There are pretty long lines here, but its because there are a lot of people who go. Art supplies, in case you don't know, can be large or very small. Sometimes a person will have a basket full of different priced beads, which can take a long time to scan. I only refrain from giving this location the five stars because it is a little messy. However, it has an organized disorder to it. When you figure out where your product is, it is usually in the same place the next time. I think for being in an area that doesn't have the best reputation this store does very well. read more

This Michael's is large, with wide aisles. Compared to other locations I've been to, it's relatively easy to move around. There. I said one nice thing about it. Organization at the store is a joke. The scrap-booking supplies and stamps dominate the left wall, the framing department takes up most of the right, and the back wall is a mish-mash of crafty mess. But the middle is the worst. Fake flowers, wedding supplies, seasonal products and who knows what else are all squished together into a maze of glitter, plastic and dross. Now, granted, I'm not a 'crafter' so much as a fine artist. That is, I sketch and paint. This Michael's devotes only tiny corner to canvas, paints, colored pencils, brushes, charcoal, pencils and paper. Two or three rows maximum. There's an extremely limited selection of products, especially paint - rarely more than two or three brands displayed, and none of them what I'd consider the "good" stuff. Additionally, when I visited the store today the brushes were a disorganized and many of the heads were ruined because some kid (I assume) had been messing around with them. Loose pens and pencils were also shelved very haphazardly. The place seemed to be understaffed. As I looked around I noticed there was always a line of at least 4-5 people waiting. For a Monday morning, that seems pretty busy. Out on the sales floor, I'd spot a salesperson stocking or arranging the shelves but it was rare. read more

This rating is really specifically for Monica at the framing department. I can't even begin with how wonderful, helpful and amazing she was last night. I had a last minute and urgent project for work that I had to have done right away, I went to so many different places from Aaron brothers to different location Michael's. I was amazed how hard it can be to frame two regular documents and why some places have employees that hate their jobs and don't even want to take a minute to see if they can help their customers. Anyways, as my last chance I called this Michael and talked to Monica. She said they probably won't be able to have it done less than 24 hours but she can help me to find the best thing possible when I stop by. I went there and she spent so much time to find the right frame and matting for me, tried different ones on my documents, looked for other options and in the end made it happen. Unbelievable!! She went way beyond helping a costumer and really made it happen! She even tried to cut the mat for me and she told me she will do her best and that's not something that she does all the time, and she did an awesome job!! I got everything done and my project was completed on time all because of the hard work of Monica. THANK YOU and Thank YOU! I honestly wished her manager was there so I can tell her/him what a wonderful employee they have! read more

Suprised at all the bad reviews. I live close by & I've been to this Michael's a lot. Parking is pretty good here. It's near a Dollar Store, Liquor Store & a lot of places to eat within walking distances. Came here this time to look for idea's for my friend's birthday. We asked where the bulletin boards were & an employee knew exactly where it was & walked us over. Within a couple of minutes, another employee walked by & asked how we were & if we needed any help. We found an electric light up sign you could write on & asked an employee how it worked? The employee said he would go grab some batteries to test it out to make sure it worked & even let us keep the batteries, how nice! There was a sign that said 50% off our electric light up sign but the sign was in the middle of a lot of items & we asked which items the 50% off applied to? The employee who had helped us with our sign said to take it to cashier & if it wasn't 50% off he'd still honor it & to tell them his name Richard. Cashier was nice & someone greeted us as we left so great customer service all around. To the people who left a bad review, maybe you just have to pick your days. I love coming to this Michael's because I can go to both their and to the Dollar Tree. I'm a huge crafter and I like to have options when I make things. Any who, this store for the most part is clean and organized. I can find things I need rather quickly and they usually have more product than other Michael's. I do have to take off some stars because of 1) their restroom and 2) their customer service. Their women's restroom is a nightmare. Before you had to go to the cashiers' desk to ask for someone to unlock it, and it was horrible because it would take a while for an associate to come. But even back then their restrooms were pretty horrendous. The improvement is they have them unlocked but still in poor condition. Secondly their customer service skills are hit or miss. There are some really awesome associates that help you locate items or figure out the correct pricing. There are also some associates that just point and say bring up front to ask about. Overall it's any retail store, but compared to other Michael's I prefer to shop here when I'm in the area. read more

Awful place... I've been here several times and there is never anyone on the floor to ask for assistance in finding things. This time I was looking for a single item and had to wait in line to go to the single cashier for help since I couldn't find it. I had the displeasure of then talking to the manager who instantly told me they didn't have the item I was searching for without even looking at the store inventory. After another 15 minutes of wandering without help, I found the exact item I was initially searching for. Thanks for wasting my time... Also, unrelated but this is one of the many stores that upcharges their in-store items. You need to basically tell the cashier to price match whatever items you buy to their own online website prices. Pathetic. read more

I'm not very happy with this place. My gf and I went here to do a house project with rocks and candels and what not... We found a great candel that she had to have however we only found one so like any customer we asked for help to find another one.. The employee we asked seemed to be willing to help and about 10 minutes of waiting I started to walk around to see if I could find it. And what do I see to my serpruse the dang kid is bringing in carts it's like he totally forgot about us. We didn't even bother asking again. We switched up our idea and went to the check out and guess who was there the guy that was suposed to be helping us, now you won't believe this part he asked us if we ever found the candel... Everytime I come to this Michael's the guest outweigh the customer service Representatives tenfold. We wait in line for 20 to 30 minutes every time we come in here. The deals are great the store itself is pretty clean but there is never more than one or two people ringing people up and if becomes a headache. I love all Michaels Arts & Crafts stores but am writing this review about the Cake Decorating classes that I took here. I took courses 1 & 3 by Jen and can say it was awesome! I learned so much! It's pretty expensive to get started buying all of the supplies and kits needed for the course (I invested in one of the large gazillion piece box sets since I knew I would be taking more than one course). Though I've been slacking on my cake/cupcake making and decorating of late, I can't wait to get back into it and continue using the skills I learned in this class! I would definitely recommend taking these courses (though I'm not sure if Jen is still teaching them but she's awesome!). read more
