I show up and look at the blanket, the thickness they used was so small I couldn't see it at all. It was a fluffy blanket but I expected them to at least let me know rather than just acting like it was fine!! The blanket was also melted in some spots from the machine. No refunds, returns, etc. They did not care and did nothing for me. The store owners (Trends and Traditions) agreed with me and took back the blanket but the lady from Stitches and Such said nothing could be done and sent it right back. Then I decided to give them another chance. Mistake number 2 on my part. They had my pillow done on time this time, only spelled wrong! I spelled it out for them multiple times and wrote it down in two places and they had proof of that even after they screwed up. The font was also so tiny and not what I agreed to. So overpriced and when they messed up, the owner said she didn't care that I missed pillow/paddle swap and that it wasn't her fault. She didn't refund anything or help me at all. The worst customer service. Never going back and don't recommend anyone else come here! They just want your money and rush through the orders without attention to detail. Not to mention they're much more expensive than other places. I paid $40 for them to just embroider on my pillowcase and then spell it wrong but it "wasn't their fault." I tried to get a hat done a few days later for my dad but it wouldn't have been ready in time for Christmas- which is totally understandable since they looked swamped with orders. Terrible customer service and poor communication. I placed an order July 16th for school uniform…read moreshirts online. School starts August 18th so I figured this is plenty of time. I received an email confirming my order was ready for pickup July 25th. When I went to pick up the shirts, I was told the order was not completed and it was unclear why I had received a pickup notification when they call by phone. I left my phone number as requested and was told that the shirts weren't in stock but a new order was arriving at the end of the week. They had rows and rows of school uniforms ready...just not mine. Two weeks went by and it's now the week before school, so I call and inquire about my order. I was told half the order (2 of 4 shirts) were ready for pickup but there was an issue with the manufacturer no longer producing the style of shirt needed. The next day, I received an email from Nan Finch requesting me to call bc my phone number was not on file. I make callback and am told they are unable to fulfill the other half of my order and was offered a different style/material shirt to which I declined. I had to request a refund which she agreed and said I would have to come by in person to receive the refund. I informed I would be coming by the store the same day to pickup my half order. I arrive to the store to be met with Nan Finch notifying me that the 2 of 4 shirts she...and her store employee confirmed were ready ...on two different occasions... was no longer available but waited until I arrived to say that. No call, no email. So I now have 0 of 4 shirts. I was processed a refund and I will never return to this establishment for such sloppy business. I don't know why there was such mishandling of my order and why my 2 shirts were suddenly not available. Mind you, I was on the phone while my order bag was located and confirmed two shirts were inside. I could literally hear the rustling of my bag in the background.

This may actually be the worst Goodwill in the state. They don't follow the color of the week like…read morethe other goodwills, they don't do military discount, they don't do employee discounts for their own employees because you're from San Antonio and not San Marcos like we're across the Mason/Dixon line, then you buy a bunch of items and then find out, you gotta pay extra for a bag because they don't do bags.... and you can't return items on their color of the week. But don't worry, they have really nice new paint... I wonder how they can afford it? On top of all the things they don't do like everyone else... They sure do stick to the roundup rule of rounding up your change. Will not be coming back to this location that fancies itself the target of goodwills.

I have followed Assemble Cocktail Workshop on Instagram and have always thought it looked super…read morefun, so when a friend wanted to do a private party for her birthday - it was a no brainer! We arrived a bit early and Lillian quickly whipped us up a welcome cocktail which she called "A Walk in the Garden". It was a prosecco based cocktail and absolutely delicious (and pretty). While we enjoyed this cocktail and looked around the shop... she prepared the workshop space for the lesson. The birthday girl had been given a list of cocktails in advance and was able to select the ones she wanted to learn how to make (she selected the Blackberry Smash & Bee's Knees). One thing I loved about this class is that Lillian gave options with each cocktail so that everyone would end up with a drink they loved. For example, if you don't like bourbon which is typically in a Bee's Knees... you could use gin instead! Then we had the options to make it spicy/sweet/herbal/ etc. By the end of the class... we all had different and personalized cocktails. In addition to the cocktails, Lillian prepared a large bowl of popcorn with specialty seasonings and showed us some of the fun tools that can be used for different prep methods. We also had downtime between making each drink to enjoy them and chat amongst ourselves. This class made for the perfect outing... we're already talking about doing another for the next girl's weekend. I cannot recommend this class enough and will absolutely be back!

I was doing a birthday weekend with friends in Boerne and came across Assemble Cocktail via Visit Boerne. I booked a private Tiki session for 7 of us and it was the perfect way to celebrate with friends. If there's only one or two of you, you can book an open session that's available. We made Mai Tais and Painkillers - both were delicious. Since I had a couple of folks who were preggo, I notified Lillian and she made sure to have two setups with zero-proof "spirits." Lillian was a great teacher and host. She has aprons and leis so the vibes were perfect. The location is a cute bungalow tucked behind another business on Main Street (kind of easy to miss if you're looking for it right on Main Street). The business started at the beginning of the year, so it's fairly new, but add it to your list of things to do if you're in the Boerne area!
