I like this Michaels location. It is reasonably well organized (much like other Michaels locations) but I've also had the pleasure of hosting a couple birthday parties here and the staff have been excellent for this particular experience. The staff are good at running crafts for kids and really make them feel comfortable. We parents can then focus on the snacks/food while the staff can run the activities. The store itself has a good selection of all sorts of craft items and other items that might be useful for event organization, decor, and more besides. So I spend way more time and money than I should here. The staff are usually great and super helpful. download the app to keep tabs on the coupons. There's almost always a good coupon. Also specifically Quinn in the framing department is amazing. He's so helpful and really spends the time and knows exactly what questions to ask - wait for custom framing to go on sale though I've gotten up to 60% off my custom framing order before!! read more

The rating would be zero. The customer service does not exist. Contacted head office about their return policy, and the Sherwood park location made up their own policy. Manager walked away and told me to contact customer care. This is not away to treat a customer or anyone. I was tiring to return markers and a note pad, my son bought the wrong kind. I read the return policy before going. No receipt on a gift card with 20% deducted. Seems fair since he just bought it the day before and lost the receipt. Well they decided to make up their own rule that if it is over $25.00 then no. Never would I recommend this store or would I shop there again. I'm pretty easy going because I work in the industry but this is unacceptable. Keep going like this they will be out of business read more

Michaels is indeed a "one stop shop" for all craftsy projects. I have found it usefull for projects that the kids and I can do for Mom's special days. Personally, it is my go-to store for picture frames. When on sale (which is often), they are reasonably priced and they have quite a selection. Be carefull with their custom frames. I have heard the prices can get out of hand quickly. read more

I'm not going to lie, Michaels is my happy place. It's one of my go-to places for anything creative, only because they carry so many things. I love some of our more local shops like The Paint Spot, but when I'm looking for something that I'm not sure where the best place to start would be, Michaels is my jam. I feel the prices can be a little high, but it seems like they always have deals on in store, plus there are always coupons on their app. If you're ever looking to spark your creativity, a stroll through Michaels will always highlight new projects and opportunities for you.... or like a dozen projects if you're me! read more

Just like all chain stores, these places are too massive and offer a lot of CRAP. I was looking for material to build my dad a birdhouse and I couldn't believe the cost of the material. I thought large chains had cheaper prices, ummmm nope. If I was to purchase everything the bill would come to about $250, whhhaat? Serious. I then went to the specialized shops, usually expensive, and was able to get everything for just under $30, big difference. This was a real eye opener to me and well I wont be back. Support your local craft shops instead. read more

I love Michael's, but this location disappointments me.The staff has told me that they are considered a smaller location, so they don't get the same stock that the other locations in the city get. I don't like driving into the city, so I just usually go without, or find what I'm looking for elsewhere in the park, or online. read more

Upon first entering the Sherwood park Michaels, I must admit I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume and amount of supplies they had to offer! I never realized how many items there were in existence, or of all the possibilities and selection. But thanks to the staff and service, it was a happy ending. I had the pleasure of being served personally by Sharon, the stores manager. She was extremely knowledgeable and patient as she waited on me with her full attention throughout my lengthy constantly changing ideas. If the rest of the staff is half as helpful and kind as their leader......I swear that you'll have the greatest shopping experience possible, even for the most clueless craft seekers! read more
