    They said they didn't have any plain wreaths over the phone, but they did.

    This review is for several reasons why I always had issues with this location. Yesterday I called in to ask if they had a plain wreath. The young girl who answered the phone had no clue and had to ask someone. I was placed on hold and can hear them talking. She went back on the phone and said the big wreaths they had were not plain and the only plain they had were small ones. We asked what the size was, etc. She claimed they had none and the only one they had were small. I didn't want to waste time, was the reason for calling but I drove to the store anyway, because how can they possibly not have any? I went in the store and the first thing I saw was a large pallet/box full of plain wreaths right there on the floor. How can they not see that or know? Good thing I went in. It's simple to just look around. The main issue with this place why I never came back after a few years, is because there was an old woman (Karen) that used to work here who was extremely RUDE. She was SO rude over the phone and in person, when I asked for her name, she flat out lied and gave me a random name. I went in to make a complaint to the manager and the manager said there wasn't anyone by that name. I described who the Karen was and complained about their rude customer service. They were apologetic and that it wouldn't happen again. Not sure if they ever confronted her about it. She was a grumpy old woman who hated her job, well over retirement age. She was mean and was very condescending over a simple question over the phone and she hung up on me. When I called back to ask for her name is when she lied. She had a smart remark and already bad attitude. Overall, just an incompetent workplace. People who don't know what they're doing, and folks who hate their job.

    My wife purchased a Christmas tree online and picked it up at the store. Unfortunately, the tree was defective as one section of lights did not work. We came to the original location of where we picked it up (Torrance Location) and were told by the manager Val that Christmas trees cannot be returned, that they are a final sale item. Today is December 4th and we purchased the tree on December 1st. I proceeded to tell him that the tree was defective and he said I needed to call the manufacturer to have them send me a new string of lights since we did not buy the extended warranty on the tree. Huh? How does this make sense? No where in the store does it state that Christmas trees are "all sales final" and when I showed him the return policy on line, he said "well, I won't be doing a refund for you tonight". The online policy states that all items are fully refundable within 60 days if not 100% satisfied with the purchase. I decided to drive down to the Redondo Beach store and they gladly took the return without any questions being asked. When I asked the cashier lady if they had a policy on returning Christmas trees she said that there is no such thing as an "all sales final" for trees. I am very disappointed in the way the Torrance manager Val handled this situation. His top priority as a manager should always be customer service and we received none of that tonight. I went into the store a second time to show him the online policy and he still refused to refund the tree. Michaels needs to do a better job of training their staff, specially their managers as they are who represent the company and unfortunately, the manager Val does a horrible job at representing this store. I am attaching pictures of their listed return policy online and of my wife returning the Christmas tree without a problem at a store 3.5 miles away from the store that refused us the refund. Michaels, Please do better at properly training your staff.

    This place is ok. It's not the best but It's not the worst either. I used to do online ordering or better known as "Same Day Pick-up." In reality, when you do online ordering, it takes maybe 2-3 days from my 2 experiences (and that is if they have your item in stock - for me they didn't have it, even though the site said they did, but they offered another item that was better than the one I initially got but that may not always be the case for you). So if you want something, and if you really need to do the same day pick-up, you are better off just going to the store and looking for it. Speaking of going into the store. It has been crowded due to the holidays. From previous reviews, there is little to no customer service on the floor. In other words, if you are looking for something, you are on your own. I walked in on an afternoon looking for two balls of yarn that I needed to finish my Christmas present and so I ventured into an unorganized yarn section in hopes of finding my yarn in the middle of the shelves. I found one of them hidden in the drawers at the bottom of the shelves (assuming this is where they keep overstock - so major hint if you are the type of customer that goes "is there any in the back?"). The second one, I found it in a place hidden in plain sight but because of the lack of organization, I spent 20 minutes trying to find it. I am glad I kept looking because I almost gave up and left. Check out was pretty smooth, no issues there. So my overall advice is, if you go, don't expect any help and be prepared to spend a little time finding their item. If shopping online, don't expect the same day pick-up.

They have a wide range of classes from kids on the wheel, teen ceramic studio, ceramic sculpture, outrageous creative clay, family clay fun, to open ceramic studio time and workshops. A ceramic locker is $9 for a small and $11 for a large. They offer a great drawing program, with classes that are patient with thise just starting to draw. Botanical drawing, portrait, character, cartooning and Manga classes are available. They teach painting, watercolors and acrylics. There are pastel classes and decorative painting, as well as open studio sessions. Lots of great options. Even the expert will find inspiration.Jewelry making, including cadting snd metalworking for jewelry classes sre offered here. They have a great silver clay basics class and the more advanced metalsmithing class, as well. Here is your chance to make it and flaunt it. Your inner artists, needs a little nurturing. It seems much like grifting. There is no downside for the studio (not using equipment so no wear and tear) except the loss of my monthly payment. Perhaps this sounds like sour grapes but I truly do not understand this extra month of payment besides they must think they need my money worse than I do.
