If you're looking for one of those shops that has a whole lot of stuff that you never knew you needed, this is the place for you. The basic premise of this shop is that everything is five dollars and below. And, they have all kinds of stuff. They have everything from clothing, to toys, to household items, to soaps, shampoos, make-up, you name it, they've got it. The design of this business is that it is very open with isles that hold the various items that they offer. It's easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. If you're looking for personal items, candies, gifts, or anything else, you may be able to find it at this store. Plus, you won't pay more than five dollars for anything.

Honestly a great store that sells a lot of name brands you'd buy at any normal store. They have value prices, I compared many of the products to the same ones sold in stores like Target and they are all cheaper. Would check out for snacks, toys, even clothes and shoes!

Wow! This spot sure has changed through the years. Promenade on the Peninsula has now been renamed…read moreto Promenade PV. It's still an open air shopping center but they're putting a big emphasis on community gathering. They do a lot of events like a Spring Carnival and Egg Hunt. They also upgraded the ice rink under the LA Kings brand. There's also lots of new restaurants. I found a new favorite via Pho Red Bo and I spotted a yummy dessert spot via Fika Fika Creamery. Though lots of change, it was nice to see Regal Promenade still here. This movie theatre was my go- to movie theatre a few years back and I have found memories of this spacious (not crowded) theatre. Overall, I was happy to visit the new Promenade PV. It's nice to see this outdoor area gaining more popularity and it's so refreshing to see the new restaurants and events they have here.

Opened first in 1981, the Promenade on the Peninsula is a multi-level outdoor mall in Palos Verdes,…read morewith its current name being used in 2008. It's main feature is an ice skating rink, named the LA Kings Ice PV, used for as a community rink for skating and hockey. It has free parking via a large parking garage attached. It is no longer a shopping center (a lot of empty storefronts), but more a community space for Palos Verdes, with a large number of restaurants, a bunch of sporting and gaming facilities, and medical businesses, including a large UCLA health clinic. We came a week before Thanksgiving, and a beautiful Christmas tree was up, providing some good picture opportunities.

Having shopped at this shopping center since the 80s, I've seen it go through many changes…read more This center has pretty much everything you could ask for. Grocery store, bakery, a gym, Target, Ulta, Old Navy, TJ Max, Bath & Body Works, Rite Aid to name a few and several places to eat. Restaurants are more upgraded fast food options where you can sit down but not table service. Parking can get pretty busy if you try to get close by at rush times but there is plenty of it and it's free. Between the mall directly across the street versus this center, Peninsula Shopping Center has done a good job of attracting businesses and it's much better than the mall. That said, the mall is improving and they can complement each other. I rarely have to go off the hill which I appreciate.

Last weekend when I discovered this beautiful new mall, I was struck by the window display at Don Vincent. It was a show of Great Gatsby-ish white suits with coordinating hats. Elegantly eye-catching! Today I stopped in with a compliment and toured the beautiful store. Their suits are beyond gorgeous, probably very expensive. I saw some designer names on various items, which range from dresswear to shorts & tees casual. (They carry Corneliani, Brioni, Ravazzolo, Belvest, Ermenegildo, Zegna, Puccio, Lubiam, Bernard Zins, Zanella, Talbott and Eton.) There were beautiful colorful neckties & a display of straw hats. Looks to me like these clothes are for the very sharp dresser who can afford the best.

The store itself is in a very secluded little mall tucked away deep in PV, Im surprised they can afford to pay the rent as I have never seen very many people in the mall. The selection is decent for a little store, more on the high end. I bought a couple ties and a new wallet and while the items didn't blow me away, I did need some new ties and I went out of my way to find something I liked more because he was such a nice guy that gave excellent service. One thing about high end stores is that they are pretty upiddy and its always refreshing to get a nice sales person. Its pretty evident that they stay in business because of the friendly environment and not so much on the clothing. Nothing was modern or really stylish but then again I think its probably perfect for the PV crowd.

I noticed this shop took over the old One Hour Photo that had been here for decades, but closed. It's in the CVS shopping center, right next to Noah's Bagels. I took my shoes in, the proprietor and shoe repairman came out from the back. He gave me a quote of $30 to re-glue both heels. I took them in on a Saturday. He asked me if Friday was okay? I said yes and paid in advance. He gave me a copy of my receipt and stapled it to the ticket. Not too talkative, but he's a busy guy. He has quite the workshop back there, behind the counter. From the front, you can see his work bench and machinery. When I came back, there was a line. I also noticed there was a significant volume of shoes that were repaired and ready for pickup. I gave him my ticket, which he used to pull the plastic bin my shoes were in. Yay, new glue. I'm happy. I noticed he repairs purses, so that may be next on my list. He also sells merchandise. Ie Shoelaces and insoles.
