This is one of the worst Michaels I've been in. Their customer service or lack thereof is mind boggling. On more than one occasion I've had online orders that were marked as completed and they couldn't find the merchandise although I had already paid for it and they tell me something is out of stock but I walk the store and find it myself. You take things more personal when you work in retail too, most of their employees are lazy and just don't pay attention to detail. They'll see you waiting for assistance with an online order pick up and keep on walking. Whatever happened to ensuring an awesome customer experience that makes people want to come back?? read more

After waiting over an hour to try to ge help. I finally found someone on the floor. I immediately rushed to her, because you can not buy spray paint without the help of an associate. The sales associate was very rude and I couldn't believe they allowed their workers to talk on the phone via headset. She was more interested in her call than helping me. Her reply was to wait by the spray paint case and someone would come help me. After waiting 10 minutes, I just left. The store was not even crowded. Very poor customer service. read more

I must say, this is my last resort of a Michael's. I hate to say it but I just think this is the most unorganized Michael's around. Another Yelper mentioned getting lost in this store and liking it. Me not so much. When I go to Michael's, I know what I need and want to get, and then out ASAP. I have another Michael's I go to to just walk around for hours. This one is just closer to home. Anyway, I was making invites for my nieces wedding and was looking for a particular item I knew Michael's carried. I walked up and down aisles looking for assistance and seriously there were no employees I could ask where the item was. I was getting seriously frustrated then I walked by the frame department and saw some activity. I pulled up a pic of what I was looking for and meekly excused myself because I was about to interrupt their personal convo. The employee who turned around rolled her eyes and stomped over to me. I asked if she knew which aisle I could find the item. She glanced at the pic, and just said "No." Hmmm. I kept my composure and walked away. At that point I was ready to walk out when I passed an aisle with the ribbon bows I was looking for. I held myself back from yelling "thanks for the help!" I picked up all the stock and made my way to the line. It was super long (as usual.) I can't knock the cashiers though. I made my way up to the front, sweating profusely after waiting in line for 15 minutes in my winter coat. I placed my items on the counter and as the cashier rung the item up I saw there were footprints all over the back of the black foam core I was buying. At this point, I was so done. I figured whatever. There is no way I am getting a new one and wait back on line. I will just go to my usual Michael's the next day, and return it. Just then, the lovely cashier broke my planning thoughts and said "Oh I can't sell this to you. I will ring the rest of your items up and you can just go get a new one. Don't worry, I will hold your items here at the register." NICE! I paid for my stuff, ran to the back of the store, grabbed my foam core, and cut the line the wrong way to retrieve my items. I felt like a rebel. I really was so appreciative of this which is a little sad because a good customer service nowadays, is kinda unheard of. I couldn't thank the cashier enough and walked out in a good mood. read more

I'm obsessed with arts and crafts and themed projects including tons of DIY. This place is always so organized. I rarely ask for help when I come here because I know where everything is for the most part. Its such a fun store. BEWARE OF HOLIDAY SEASON. The lines get sooooo hectic around xmas, easter, halloween etc. They always have great sales too! read more

The customer service became better after they redo the building. Most time I feel happy after shopping at Michaels in this location.

Great customer service the staff were very helpful and polite and were very knowledgeable of their store. It was a little unorganized and messy but i assume it was because the holidays had just passed and they were restocking for the new inventory. Terrible terrible customer service, i called to get help for registration of online camp creativity for my 3 year old and was placed on hold for an eternity, Nobody, I mean no one returned to the phone to address my questions mostly because it was near closing time. No work Erhics. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before trying to shop at the Michaels in Valley Stream, NY. Awful experience!! I ordered 4 items. It took them 3 days to put the order together (the website said everything was in stock). Being in an at risk population for covid, I ordered curbside delivery. Waited for the email that said my order was ready and drove to the store. Called the store, as instructed, and got this message, "We are not taking any calls right now." So how am I supposed to let them know my order # so that someone can bring it out? A nice lady who was going in to the store said she would tell someone that I was waiting. Someone came to the door and yelled that they were looking for my order and turned and left. No one ever picked up the phone, so how did he know that they were "looking for " my order. After 1/2 an hour of trying to get someone's attention and trying to connect online, I left. I won't be going back!! Their website is not easy to navigate if you need customer service. None of the phone numbers that they give are answered. Only gave one star because there was no option for -0 stars. read more

Very well stocked and friendly staff. I came in with photos and diplomas to be framed. The gentleman in the framing department was very helpful. He helped me measure everything and find the best deal for framing the items with the best deal. read more

Would not recommend. Unfortunately, highly understaffed and staff is inattentive and not very knowledgeable. Could not point me to the location of basic things like gesso or more than one brand of canvas board. Spent far too much time here for someone who knew exactly what they wanted but just did not know where to find it. I'm so sorry if you end up at this store only vaguely sure of what you want. Avoid if you can & just go to a mom & pop or order online what you can. Anything more than the bare minimum (think, yarn) - this store is not it. read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will admit, I myself am not a crafter.I probably wouldn't frequent this store,but after the experiencing. I am having I am sure I never will. I purchased a cricut 2 air for my mom for Christmas. Item was placed in my trunk ..then in my basement until the unit was wrapped for Christmas. On Christmas morning my mom noticed the item inside didnt seem new. Not thinking it was a big deal I said I have my receipt I will return the unit back to the store get a new one ...no problem... My wife gets to the store guess what PROBLEM. My wife was told that the correct item was not in the box and they couldn't not exchange it ..so pretty much I was stuck out of 300 bucks. Only recourse is to deal with corporate. Is this the way you handle an issue ..just refer to corporate ? No help at all on the store level. Although the they store associated where nice this is unacceptable. Additonally I was told by corporate I will receive a response within 3 business days. I deal with social media for a prominent appliance company's .I have never told a customer that they would get a response within 3 business. Absoultely ridiculous. read more
