Customer Service is horrible at this location. First time to this location and never again! I asked a simple question at the register "do you know if any of these items (5) are on sale?" Older lady at register gives me a drop dead stare then sarcastically says "I would have to ring it up and you can look at the screen to find out " Are you kidding me, RUDE! I am a customer service manager and would never treat a customer this way. A simple "let me check for you" would have been sufficient. This Michaels is a good store but nothing special. They have the items all Michaels carry. It is clean and organized. I walked around for 15 minutes looking for an item , or someone to ask for help, and I didn't come across an employee on the floor anywhere, I eventually left and bought my item on Amazon. read more

I have spent way too much time here. I actually had to a sabbatical for a few months, but recently, I've started venturing back in. They now accept mobile coupons, which is awesome. And they offer the cake classes every month. I actually just started one, so I'll update my review after the class is over. Do not order online from this store. It is a total rip-off. They will say something is in stock, you order it and pay for it. You get a confirmation that the order is ready for pickup. You go to pick it up, and they cancel the order. Just like that. Yes, I got a refund, but I also lost an hour of my time and had a very disappointed 9-year old. The other day I bought a frame that had protected cardboard corners. When I removed them, lets just say the corners weren't very protected. The wood was badly chipped and had scratches all over! So I came back to exchange it without any issues, and on top of received a 20% refund since there happen to be a promotion that day! *yayyy, I love Michael's! This review is for the CUSTOM FRAMING DEPT! I brought a custom piece in, spent an hour picking what I wanted and was told it would take 2 weeks to complete. I spent $250 on my order and paid in advance. After 17 days no one called me to tell me it was ready or any status update. I called and sat on hold for 15+ minutes and gave up. 2 days later I called back again and was told it would then be ready 'Sept 18th' . It wasn't. Again. And NO ONE called me. The following Monday (5 more days later) I went to the store to see what was going on. To my 'delight' they said it was ready. BUT I HAD TO SHOW UP in person to get any ANSWERS! They unwrapped it... And it was the WRONG FRAME! Seriously?! I was pissed. I had been waiting for nearly a month for them to complete a job and they didn't even use the frame I picked, or the frame that was clearly coded in the computer. Not to mention, it took them nearly twice as long as they promised. I have them a chance to make it right. She said 'I'll give you a 50 + 30' refund.... That's $80 right? When she went to credit my card the discount went down to $12. On a $250 order that they messed up....royally. I feel totally insulted by this place. Expensive, sloppy, and have had multiple times that items were miss priced--which always leads to a surprise at the register and and a song and dance for doing a price check. This last time, I picked up a foam core sheet that said $2.99. At the register, the first price that came back was $6.99! Wouldn't match the display price, but would get down to $4.15. I declined, said thank you, and left on principle. Waste of a trip. So frustrating. read more

Leave your R2-D2 at the door. This is a go to place for my wife and I for all of our random crafting urges. Pros: Plentiful supply of crafting materials. Enough online coupons to make you think you are getting a deal, even when you aren't. The staff knows their stuff. I once asked a staff member where they kept their magnifying headgear and they came back with it in a few seconds like they had a map of every item in the store. The prices are pretty good and I have never had an issue with finding exactly what I came for. Cons: The aisles are a bit oddly-organized. For some reason, there are 2 separate sections of paints/brushes on opposite sides of the store. I get that one section is for expert level and the other carries Martha Stewart brand items, but it would be nice to have both combined so you can get a better idea of the price comparisons and selection. In summary: Highly recommended for your next paper mache project or holiday decoration run. read more

Just purchased a circuit from he Yorba Linda Store at Savi Ranch. I was visiting my son and realized this item was on sale. Went to the store and had to walk around looking for help to answer some questions. I just got home to San Jose and opened my Cricut - I am so disgusted because the cutting mat that came with the machine looks used. There are long strands of hair underneath the plastic. Obviously I can't return it to get a new mat. Now I'm wondering if the machine was used and returned. I may try and return it to my store in San Jose. I was so excited to begin using my Cricut for my classroom decorations, but I'm really grossed out. Check your items before you leave this store. read more

I come to Michael's A LOT. I'm a cake decorator and the equipment gets costly. So, I'm always in there buying stuff I "might" need. I love that they accept Joann's coupons but I hate that I can't combine coupons and have to do separate transactions. The only positive thing about doing separate transactions is getting a receipt coupon but then that forces me in there again to use it. I also wish that ALL Michael stores had the "one line" system. When I'm in the stores that don't, there is always confusion and arguments. The regulars get all upset when they "think" someone is cutting in front of them. If there isn't "one line" then there isn't one line ladies. I also wish that Michael's would be like Bed, Bath, and Beyond and accept their coupons even if they are expired. Yes, that is correct BBB accepts their expired coupons AND competitor coupons. I was in there and used a Micheal's coupon on a Wilton's product that was on sale. It was awesome! It may take longer because they look it up on the Internet but who cares if it's a bargain. Michael's must sell the exact product in order for BBB to accept the coupon. I purchased the Wilton Kid's Topping Tornado which is at Michael's for $39 (what a rip off) and at BBB for $15 but, on sale for $10 and used a Michael's coupon and got it for $6. YES! Lately I've been on a Michael's kick since my mom is wearing a fashionable "boot" on her left leg for the next 6 weeks so I thought why not bling it out?! Went in on a early Saturday morning after having my ritual Saturday morning breakfast with my mom @ Chick-fil-A in Savi Ranch. The best thing about this location is that they remodeled where the registers are so its only 1 line instead of craziness & chaos! The people that work here are a little less to be desired, nothing super special about their customer service just average. Everytime I'm looking for something I can't find ANYONE to help me! Be prepared to wait in line for a good minute, there's always only 1 cashier and 5 people in line. They try to call for backup but it takes toooo long! I always get an older lady who doesn't look to happy to be there or just doesn't like me since I always get here everytime I come there! read more

I just visited this location at 6;50pm on a Friday night. Probably about 10 people in the entire store. Walked up to a cashier named Ashleigh who was sweeping as I walked to counter. As I emptied my basket, I asked where to put my basket, she said "if we allow people to put them here, it encourages a giant stack of baskets up here. I asked "so where do I put it?" She said by the door...? I said "you have customers put their baskets back up there?" She said "Its not my policy." Ok- then as she is ringing my order, I ask if they have a teacher discount, she asks if I had my id card (there is no one around or in line), I told her which school I work for in the area, she says she needs to see it. So I said, "and again, youre asking the customer to walk away from a sale?" So I go out to my car, get my badge, and lay it on the counter. I said "you do know that most people would not have come back, right? You would have really held a line for that?" She said "No- I would have suspended the order and handled another customer" ok- she ended up having to rering the order, and didnt immediately give my discount until I asked for it again. Was Ashleigh rude? No- but there was also a lack of customer service in a moment whete she shouldve just taken my word, and taken my basket for me. Definitely lacking. read more

I have been coming to this store for years because of its proximity to my house. The service has never been above-and-beyond but I'm usually in & out with what I need and haven't had any issues until today. (Hence the generous 3 stars) I purchased a wall frame that I noticed was damaged as soon as I got home. I wasn't able to make it back out to the store that night as it had already closed. When I came in today, 3 days after my original purchase, I saw that the color frame I had was gone, and I grabbed the same frame in a different color in the hopes of doing an even exchange. When I got to the register, I was informed that, because it was a different color, I would have to do a return for a refund and then repurchase the new frame with the refund. Totally acceptable policy. I understood that with different colors comes different possible return policies. No big deal. The frame was originally $22, on sale for 60% off, plus a coupon I used for an additional 20%. I received $6 back for the frame, which is what I had paid for it. When it came time to ring up the new frame, my total was $22 (as the frame sale had ended). The highest discount I was allowed to use for it was 20% because that's all that the cashier saw on the receipt. My final total was $18 for a frame I originally paid $6 for, and the original price was not going to be honored. I refused to have to pay the price (literally) for their items being damaged and for no longer having my original color in stock. If they had even offered to help me find it in the back, find it online/in another store in order to do an even exchange, or ANYTHING, that would have been more helpful than the customer having to leave frustrated and without the item they came in for. I'd rather drive to the Michael's in Orange if this is how they treat their customers here in Anaheim Hills. read more

I shop at Michael's all the time. The staff is nice, friendly, and helpful. However, if you ever have a problem with a product they carry, don't expect HQ Customer Service to be helpful. They will email you promises of making thing right, but there is no follow through. Don't buy the spools of chains unless you can test them out first. They regularly stock a chain that you can break with your bare hands. I spent money on a roll of this garbage and can't use it because it breaks so easily. The necklaces & bracelets I made all had to be re-made. The 12 yards of chain are useless! Customer Service promised me a coupon for another product. They never sent it. And they still stock this horrible product and can't give me one way I can use this stuff.
