I booked this company for my wedding and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from the trial through the wedding day. At my makeup trial with Michele, the look was so poorly done that it was clear she did not know how to work with my skin tone or features. We ultimately had to switch to another artist because the trial makeup was not wearable. I still moved forward with the team because I trusted the reassurance that everything would be handled on the wedding day. Before booking, I had asked whether draping was included, and Michele told me she "always drapes my clients" as part of creating a full glam experience. Based on this, I fully expected draping to be provided. On the morning of my wedding, none of the artists on-site knew how to drape, and my family had to scramble last minute to find someone. This caused significant stress for me, my mom, and multiple women in my bridal party, including my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. After the wedding, when I brought up what happened, Michele acknowledged that we had discussed draping but refused to take responsibility because it wasn't listed on the final invoice, despite her earlier written confirmation. I even paid the outstanding balance in good faith, hoping she would resolve things, but she declined and told me we should "leave it where it is." What disappointed me most was not just the missing service, but the lack of accountability and empathy afterward. For the amount paid, I expected professionalism, clarity, and follow-through, and that is not what I experienced. In fairness, the individual artists on her team were far more talented and professional than Michele herself. If you do book this company, I would strongly recommend going to the specific artists directly rather than relying on Michele. Future brides: get every detail in writing, including verbal assurances. I booked on the phone an appointment for bridal hair and makeup. Michele said on the phone $185. I go to my appoinment, after I finished makeup, Michele came to do my hair, when I showed her the pictures of what I have in mind, then she got annoyed and bothered and started looking at me in an ugly way, and said that this isn't what she thought I wanted. She assumed on her own something else, that I wanted to do something simple photoshoot like.. seriously who goes to a bridal photo shoot with their natural hair (not done)!?? Anyways after she got annoyed and aggravated, and told me it will be $225 if I want to go with the one of the looks I chose. And she was very rude and saying I have no volume for the styles like in the picture and that my hair is too curly and it's gona take a lot of time.. is this a joke hair salon? It should be your JOB to work on such hair and get to the result that is wanted. It's funny sad I had to tell her how it can be done... what a joke .. she was rude all the time when she was blow drying my hair and then she wanted to just blow dry it without flat ironing it .. GIVEN I HAVE A VERY CURLY HAIR, then she rolled her eyes because I told her if she can flat iron it. I don't understand I am paying money to get my hair done.. why is she being so arrogant and rude???? First time I go to this salon and last time it will be. I used Michele Renee The Studio for my hair and make up on my wedding day. Tiffany was my Stylist for both services and all I can say is my hair and makeup have never been looked better. My make up did not move the entire day and my hair stayed in place even with my wedding being in the dead of summer. Tiffany took her time and make sure everything looked right. Yes they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. If want the best then you will have to pay for it. Located in a very non descript strip center off Waters Ave, Michele Renee offers the finest bridal hair/makeup in Tampa Bay. Their services are so in demand that you must book way in advance. They offer 3 different levels of stylists. For my trial run I had Lo. She was great and listened to the look I was going for. I ended up getting a package of extensions and she matched my hair perfectly. It was such a fun, enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to having her on my wedding day. read more

So suprised by all the positive reviews here. I need makeup and hair for my reception and based on the deceptive positive reviews I did a trial with them in tampa. Maybe the original owner is good and couple of the stylists but don't expect the same from everyone else who works there. The trial costed me about 120 bucks and in the end it wasn't worth it. Most of the products used on me were drug store and average products. For that price point I don't expect them to use drug store products at least not for wedding makeup as they don't last and you don't get the same results. My eyeliner was all in my eyes and shadow was falling apart in the 10 min drive back home and I could barely see. The makeup person was sweet and nice and she did have basic sephora makeover skill but other than there is nothing positive about this outcome. Considering they charge you well around 300/400 on your big day and don't even bother to use decent products, I definitely would stay away from them. Also if you are not happy you can say goodbye to your trial money. I think they personally need to you refund the money partially or try to do retrial if you are not happy with the end result. Thankfully I was able to find some other place for 1/4th of the price and those girls were awesome. read more

They also did on location hair and makeup for my four bridesmaid at my wedding venue. I worked with different levels of stylists for different but was impressed with every one. The stylists were sweet and attentive to every detail and could easily replicate any hair and makeup look that a bride would have in mind. They also provided much needed advice on what hair and makeup would work best for each event and even put in hair extensions for the big day. This was my first time being apart of a wedding party that used Michelle Renee as their Hair and Makeup. I was severely disappointed with their services. I had the high price for the Third Tier stylish and makeup artist, but they should have paid me because I had to go back to fix both hair and makeup a few times. When I walked in and showed my hair style one of the stylists said she didn't know how to do a fishtail braid, again if you're a Top Tier stylist you should be educated enough to do all types of braiding. So once I waited for the stylist who did know how to do it, it turned out a poor version of the picture and when I asked if there was anything that could be altered to make it look better, she gave me a flat No. I ended up taking out the braid after the ceremony because again it looked terrible, and redid a simple style myself. My makeup artist was very nice and did eyes very well, and that's it. She didn't know how to do face makeup, she put on about 5 diff colors of blush on my cheeks so I had to wipe that off later on because when she was done I had maroon cheeks( I'm olive skinned, not a good look for me) and also had no idea how to fix eyebrows or match foundation to my skin tone. For a company that usually gets 5 star ratings, I was so surprised about how little education and helpful they were towards their customers. The matron is honors airbrush makeup peeled off within the first 40 minutes and another bridesmaid was all type of messed up. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because a couple of the girls were very nice, even if they didn't know a lot about what they were doing. Again I'm annoyed that I had to pay for top tier services and received a chore I had to fix. As an event planner myself, I would not refer this company to any of my clients of friends who are getting married. read more

We had a HUGE bridal party, some of the girls paid for a level 3 stylist and some didn't want to pay as much. Prior I asked for a schedule which normally they provide prior or atleast any bridal party I've been a part of. When they sent this over they just had same stylist for everyone I inquired about it and she said no there will be a different one. Day of they just called who ever for hair and makeup and it wasn't organized and girls paid for higher level services we all got the same. I complained and she said that they are top rated stylist, that is not what I am saying.... That's like paying for a first class ticket and everyone from coach gets to ride up there. I had Jessica as my stylist yesterday, I paid for a tier one stylist to do my hair and makeup for my elopement and it couldn't have gone better! My hair and makeup were fantastic and Jessica was amazing, knowledgeable and very nice! My hair held up for a long time and through the very windy beach ceremony. The only thing that I would say is that they charged a $50 travel fee to come to the hotel to do hair and makeup for just one person which seemed pretty expensive to me. read more

She is patient, kind, and funny- a combination of all the right things a bride needs in her hair and makeup artist. Her pricing is competitive with other people offering the same services. She uses MAC and other trusted name brand products and offered real advice on what worked for me. Michele also sterilizes her brushes which is very important. I had an almost 6 hour trial with Michele but she did not give up until I was happy with my trial looks. She made me feel and look like a million bucks. Planning a destination wedding is a very difficult thing to do. And with all of the horror stories you hear about wedding disasters, my husband and I were very cautious in choosing our vendors. As all brides know, a hair trial is a huge must do. I had no family or friends in Clearwater that could recommend a salon so taking the easy route, I booked with the hotel spa, where I would be having my wedding reception. I was going to bypass the hair and make-up trial and hope for the best (I mean, really? How bad could it be?) but my best friend and bridesmaid advised me otherwise. Unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. It was not at all the look I wanted and from start to finish looked horrible. My hair looked like medusa's snakes trapped in a hair net and my make-up made me look like I was auditioning for a spot at the nearest Lips. I tried my best to hold back the tears of horror and anxiety, as I sat in the salon chair 5 months before my wedding. I returned back to NY and while grateful that I had my trial, realized I needed to go on a full search for some help. I wasn't finding anywhere that really made me what to give a call. My future sister-in-law happened to be going to a wedding at the end of February and the bride was getting her hair done by Michelle Renee Hair & Make-up. She had raved about the trial and so I decided to check it out. Talk about heaven sent! Their prices were way better than the hotel spa, they offered multiple levels of expertise, and even more importantly, Tiffany (who handles all scheduling and communication) was absolutely amazing. She was quick and consistent with her communication and assured me that everything would run smoothly. I had my trial less than a month away from my wedding. I didn't have a perfect picture of the hair style I wanted (a messy-like bun but not pulled completely back). I met with Dena, who would be the stylist on my wedding day, and all I had to do was explain what I wanted and show a decent picture. She saw what I envisioned and knew what would look right with the shape of my face and my wedding dress. I felt absolutely gorgeous and she was spot on! Great personality, funny, honest, and without a doubt - truly skilled at her craft! My hair and make-up was to perfect in every way! My hair has a hard time holding a curl, but with Savannah's skill, my hair held the curl through rain, 20mph winds and dancing all night! Four of us got our hair done by the stylist from Michele Renee and three others including the bride by their personal stylist. Three out of the four of us had to get our re-our hair redone by the bride's stylist so we had to pay for hair twice. I asked for a low updo and she didn't even straighten my curly hair or put any product in it. Everyone said it looked awful. When she first did it I told her I wasn't loving it and she said she would wait until I had my make up done and then we would see if I liked it better and go from there. I went into the other room to finish my speech for the wedding and when I came out she was gone. I was the matron of honor so of course I wanted my hair to look fantastic for the photos. I am pretty upset I had to pay twice for hair and that three out of the four had to have their hair redone or fixed by the other nonassociated stylist.
