I was staying in neighboring Tappahannock and needed a cake or pie on December 22nd for my mother-in-law's birthday. I called that morning and was told there was no way to get a cake during he holiday season without pre-ordering. I wasn't surprised, but the tone could have been more friendly. I asked for all the pie flavors, twice, and decided to go for it. The flavors they had were chocolate cream, coconut cream, peanut butter, key lime, French apple, and apple. I am not an adventurous pie person, so I got apple. The pie was very sweet, but also delicious. I also got 13 cookies to write out Happy Birthday, and I got two of each flavor they had: chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, gingerbread, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, and Oreo. I only got to rate the Oreo cookie, which was very good. I strongly prefer a soft cookie, and this cookie was soft with gobs of Oreo and chocolate in it. I will miss this cookie. The cookies overall were a big hit with the family, and went much faster than the pie. I would say my review is really based on the food. Service was lacking--not friendly despite being in a small town (and I promise, I was friendly). However, they also have the advantage of being one of only a few bakeries in the area if you want something other than the Wal-Mart Bakery. I have no clue who the person was who helped me, but I strongly recommend the owner require a little more training for anyone working the front of the house. A smile and some small talk go a long way in making clients want to return. I prefer to support a local business (over grocery chains), but I may look up the other bakery next time I'm in the area. read more

I am very unimpressed. And frankly disappointed. I purchased: 1 lemon cupcake for $2 1 red velvet cupcake for $3 And 1 day old pecan cinnamon bun for $1.5 I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. FOR $7+ I couldn't even eat them the icing tasted like they used old oil and the cupcakes were extremely dry and tasteless. I seriously want to love this place. Its a cozy cute little bakery nestled in a quaint little nook on a small quiet side street in a little country town. Everything about this place got me excited for some fresh cupcakes and whatever baked goods I could get my hands on. Upon walking in the smells of baking cakes and icing had me feeling like a kid again. Like waiting for mom to finish icing the cake. The anticipation of home baked sweets had my mind steeped in nostalgia. Herein lies the problem: it is just that. Home baked taste. I feel like while the presentation is excellent, the goods are no better than following a premium recipe at my own house. While modern boutique bakeries offer some sort of innovative and specialized improvements over what can be achieved in one's own living space, there just wasnt any 'wow' factor. I drive pass this business multiple times when I visit home. I decided to stop by one afternoon on my way back out of town. I am glad I made that visit. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming and creative. The space was small but they owners made it work. So many treats to choose from that it took me several minutes to make my first pick. I decided on several truffles, cinnamon roll scone, ginger cookies, and a cupcake. These were not all for me by the way. They accept cards and cash. I enjoyed every truffle I ate. They were small but full of favor and yumminess. My dad loved the cinnamon roll scone. He stated it was different than the traditional cinnamon roll, but didn't disappoint in taste. I was not a fan of the ginger cookies. Next time I will indulge in more truffle favors and cakes. If you are in the Northern Neck, visit this sweet treat! read more

Delicious treats! The place is tucked off of the road so you have to really look for it. Truffles are delicious and the cakes and pies looked really good. Friendly service and clean store. In Warsaw, options for food and desserts are limited. Michelle's is worth a stop. read more

What a treasure to discover within a reasonable distance! I have it! I was in the area to pay a bill when I noticed there sign near the edge of the road. It's tucked on a corner of the street. I was very pleased to find all the treats and bakery items available. I wanted so much, but controlled myself with two items. I love homemade breads, and picked a package of six homemade rolls and a blueberry bagel that looked like a pretzel with a buttery touch. I had another meal in line for dinner, but decided that I wanted the rolls to go along with my eggs and fresh tomatoes. What a great meal with the rolls. The price was reasonable for them, but the taste was the best. I know where to buy fresh homemade breads and rolls without having to go the distance that I use to go for such items. I have not eaten the bagel, but it smells delicious. It's a big hit for me and you won't be disappointed with their treats. read more

A great new bakery in Warsaw. Eclair/cream puff to simply die for, decadent chocolate covered giant strawberry, gingerbread cookie and snickerdoodle cookie were our samplings on our first trip after noticing the business. The giant fresh made bagels looked wonderful as did the selection of pies, cupcakes and other delicious looking sweets and you see the baker in the back working away on delicious looking treats.
