I've had an ongoing issue with Michelsen Dental following my appointment over four months ago. My healthcare FSA rejected the invoice because the charges submitted didn't align with what was paid by insurance. Despite repeated follow-ups, I'm still waiting for a clear resolution. I was also overcharged at my first visit and never received a refund for the difference after insurance processed the claim. While quality dental care matters, so does transparency and professionalism in billing. Unfortunately, I haven't experienced that here. I've never encountered these types of issues at other dental offices, which makes this all the more frustrating. The lack of responsiveness and accountability has left a very poor impression. read more

Way, WAY before my first appointment I sent them all information they required for a new patient including photos (front and back) of my insurance card. I went to my first appointment for a routine cleaning and was told that they didn't take my insurance BUT for $130 they would clean my teeth. Wasted my time. I have had such horrible experiences in the past with dentists... in part because of extra charges that probably didn't need to happen, extra procedures that weren't necessary, lack of care and concern for sensitivity issues and pain, and not a very warm presence in he front office. Needless to say, I was very hesitant coming to Michelson dental for fear of a repeat experience of the past... And it was opposite in every single way! The front office staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the dentist is really tuned into my concerns, and everything is explained so well! Even though I still don't enjoy coming to the dentist, coming into Michelsen dental makes it a much less traumatic experience for me! I was able to get a same day appointment and really liked their online forms, check ins, and text and calls with team members Veronica and Mayra. What an amazing place!!! They were so kind, nice, respectful and just all out amazing. Needed a root canal done and they sent me out to another place because their specialist wasn't there, no big deal. Came back to get my crown put on and they explained everything, made sure it fit correctly and my bite was correct. Offered me a pillow and a blanket, and made me feel really comfortable. In specific Will is such a truly wonderful amazing person. We have 2 PPO'S They (dentist) are very good at taking our money. Total that I had to argue over was $775. $500 cash and the previous balance removed Itʻs a shame when you have to argue about a mistake that accounting made. Well,assuming it was accounting. This was my first time at this dental office and I typically have terrible experiences with new dentists and just overall fear of getting dental work done but this office took my breath away!!! Let's be honest, a trip to the dentist can be nerve-wrecking. That's how I felt in the past, but after visiting Dr. Michelsen I now feel way more at ease. I called them a few weeks before to schedule an appointment for teeth whitening. The moment I arrived at the office, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was my first time there so they were nice enough to give me a mini tour around the office. Everything was organized, clean, and neat- definitely a good sign! They showed me to my room and informed me that Dr. Michelsen will inspect my teeth before starting the whitening process. When Dr. Michelsen walked into the room, she had a big smile on her face and introduced herself. She told me about the process, what to expect, and the aftercare for my shiny teeth. The 2 hour whitening process was painless and I pretty much didn't want it to end. I was too comfortable sitting in the reclined chair with my headphones on, lights dimmed, and binge watching "YOU"... it was as if I was catching a film at the movie theater. I almost forgot I was at the dentist, except the occasional check up on my teeth every 20 minutes to monitor the whitening. Overall, Dr. Michelsen and her staff are amazing! After denying my teeth for years I came To this office and felt judge free and they are helping me little by little fix my teeth to eventually get braces. Doctor Renu is very detailed and concise with treatment and very gentle. The assistant Will is also very good and work very well with the Dr. to get the treatment done quickly. The front office Staff Veronica is also very helpful and communicative and explains my treatment and insurance info well. They also have early morning appointments which is a big plus for me.
