After denying my teeth for years I came To this office and felt judge free and they are helping me little by little fix my teeth to eventually get braces. Doctor Renu is very detailed and concise with treatment and very gentle. The assistant Will is also very good and work very well with the Dr. to get the treatment done quickly. The front office Staff Veronica is also very helpful and communicative and explains my treatment and insurance info well. They also have early morning appointments which is a big plus for me. I love coming here! Always feel refreshed and teeth feel amazing. Dr. Michelesen gives the best treatment plan. my teeth havent always been the greatest. But I started coming here and now they look and feel like a million dollars. Not only does Dr. Michelesen do the best work, but she is sooo nice and patient. Let's be honest, a trip to the dentist can be nerve-wrecking. That's how I felt in the past, but after visiting Dr. Michelsen I now feel way more at ease. I called them a few weeks before to schedule an appointment for teeth whitening. The moment I arrived at the office, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was my first time there so they were nice enough to give me a mini tour around the office. Everything was organized, clean, and neat- definitely a good sign! They showed me to my room and informed me that Dr. Michelsen will inspect my teeth before starting the whitening process. When Dr. Michelsen walked into the room, she had a big smile on her face and introduced herself. She told me about the process, what to expect, and the aftercare for my shiny teeth. The 2 hour whitening process was painless and I pretty much didn't want it to end. I was too comfortable sitting in the reclined chair with my headphones on, lights dimmed, and binge watching "YOU"... it was as if I was catching a film at the movie theater. I almost forgot I was at the dentist, except the occasional check up on my teeth every 20 minutes to monitor the whitening. Overall, Dr. Michelsen and her staff are amazing! I came here today as a first time patient of Michelsen Dental. I was very anxious and scared as I had been putting off dental work for years and years. The two ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and sweet upon my arrival. As I went back for my X-rays I was shaky and scared. Met Will, the gentleman in the back administering the X-rays and felt at ease immediately. He was warm, kind and just a great guy. Also Dr. Michelson did an awesome job, she was an amazing dentist. Waste of time and $! I moved to OC a few years ago and never switched dentists. I was driving 40 minutes to Claremont to continue seeing my family dentist that I've been with for 20+ years. After getting married my husband and I decided to find a local dentist. We ended up at Michelsen Dental in September 2023 because of the positive reviews but we did NOT have a positive experience. We scheduled appointments for what we were made to believe were dental cleanings only to find out while in the chair we were only there for a consultation/evaluation. My husband and I were both told we needed a number of dental things done and it was likely our insurance wouldn't cover what was being recommended. The price estimate for each of us was thousands of dollars. Our previous dentists didn't recommend any of the work that Dr. Michelsen did so I left very skeptical. I attempted to schedule a dental cleaning like I originally wanted and they were booked months out with limited availability to see a hygienist. I'm actually grateful I didn't make any additional appointments with them. Fast forward to today, I received a bill and the invoice included X-ray images for both of us which I NEVER did because I'm currently pregnant. Additionally both our insurances were charged for a "comprehensive oral evaluation" that seems ridiculous when literally no work was done they just looked at our teeth and gave us a list of things to do with an outrageous estimated price. I've returned to my prior dentist and they confirmed the work recommended by Dr. Michelsen was unnecessary and I will never go back! Driving 40 mins to Claremont twice a year to a trustworthy dentist is totally worth it. Be warned, it's not about the client's legitimate needs it's about trying to get the most money! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Michelsen for several years and always have a great experience. Office staff is welcoming and helpful. My kids aren't afraid when I mention that it's time for their checkups! They have all state of the art equipment and are professional. I had a crown fall apart on a Friday evening, emailed the office in a panic thinking it was a long shot that I would get a response before the following Monday. If her dental work was anything like the attention she put into her striking technique, I knew I would be in good hands. One year later, a tough piece of beef jerky and a chipped tooth brought me back into the office. The tools used looked scary, but sure enough I fell sleep shortly afterwards with moments of her awakening me to open my mouth wider. Best dentist ever! I unknowingly had jaw pain and headaches from something my prior dentist hadn't addressed. I moved down to the area a couple months ago and decided to get back in for a cleaning to rule things out. I'm glad I did. I came home with several fillings in the same day as my cleaning. Dr. Michelson is a god send !! I came to her extremely worried about my gums, as I have been experiencing quite a lot of bone loss. My gums are eroding away, even to having one of my teeth moving. She was super kind and patient with all the questions I had to ask her. Not only did she do a diligent job with my deep cleaning, she gave Me great advice on how to improve my gums. I decided to give her advice a try. 3 weeks later and my gums have turned pink and look super healthy! She also found a solution for that slightly moving tooth. Had a really bad experience with Doctor Michelsen they charge me an arm and a leg for some really bad work. They tend to charge you for things that your not aware, the work is terrible I have one of my teeth hurting because she didn't finish the filling correctly and wanted to charge me more.
