In all the years that I've had dental work done, I've never had a dentist do hygienist work (dental cleaning). Dr Nazeri did just that for my wife and I for the two years we were seeing her. Dr Nazeri was extremely rude to my wife, berating her about her "poor" dental hygiene during the cleaning. My wife has been to countless dentists who have told her she has great hygiene and she hasn't had a cavity in over a decade! Also the cleaning wasnt thorough and was rushed. She sprayed our teeth with water saying that she didn't need to polish them because the spray was "special". In the two years we saw Dr Nazeri never once did she mention I had any issues. But one day I noticed one of my teeth was loose! I went to a Periodontal specialist and they told me I had severe bone loss and gum disease. How did Dr Nazeri not flag that! Was she in fact the cause - because she wasn't cleaning my teeth properly?? Avoid at all cost. read more

I would not recommend this dental practice to anyone I know. They used up all my insurance to replace a crown and after "cementing" the permanent crown for the second time I was still unable to chew on that side due to the crown being loose. The assistant placing the crown was very incompetent and I could tell she was nervous to ask anyone for help. Just let me leave without doing it properly once again!! After they wouldn't see me for pain on the other side of my mouth(instantly with my call said go to a specialist without having me come in) I was fed up. I found a new dentist.. do I not only have a cavity under the poor cementing of my crown I need a replacement crown which insurance will not cover since they used my insurance up!! I also need additional work on the other side I asked them to see me for. I called and asked them to give the dentist a message for me letting them know I'll be filing a claim and grievance with my insurance to hopefully get my new crown covered that should not have to be replaced so soon! All the receptionist said was "okay, okay, okay..." very poor customer service and care. I don't think the dentist got my message and if she did I haven't gotten a returned call to ask what the reasoning was. Her staff apparently didn't care why I was filing the claim. Ridiculous! This isn't the only bad experience with her staff, but definitely the most costly. read more

Changing my review to 2 stars after Tracy's response below due to: 1: the blatant attempt to discredit me by saying they can't verify that I'm a patient. I have no interest in giving up what little anonymity I can have to a review site, & I have even less interest in writing fake reviews for dental offices I've never visited. I absolutely was a patient here. I certainly won't be any longer. 2: the failure to address the real issue of concern: the overprescription of services and refusal to accept a no when someone doesn't want to pay out of pocket for more cleanings/procedures/"medicines" per year than their insurance covers. I am not the only person to have this complaint, and I'm sure I won't be the last. They take a lot of insurances, so if you truly have no other choice, go here. They took me in as a new patient on 12/8/20 knowing they will no longer accept my insurance in 2021. The dentist knew that I wanted to get all my work done by end of year but basically said I don't need to rush because HMO benefits don't expire like PPO. Why would she say this knowing they already filed the paperwork to stop working with HMOs? I just got mail from my dentist that this office stopped working with my insurance on 12/1/20. What?? They insurance company has opened a case to investigate why they would take me as a patient knowing all this information. I know why. They got me for TWO appointments. One for xtrays and chit chat basically and second for a deep cleaning (read some other reviews and they say this is what they recommend the most instead of a regular cleaning -billed higher obviously) for cash flow. I am highly inconvenienced and I have to find a new dentist again. I don't think this office has the patient interest at heart. The insurance coordinator is very rude. I moved from TX and miss my very PROFESSIONAL dentist office that put patient interest first. I know I'll find better and will read reviews more closely. read more

You have to give 48 hr notice to avoid there excessive reschedule fee. Tried calling 24 hrs prior. The was the final straw. had two insurances last year and have been getting notifications that they never submitted proper paperwork to the second insurance. Impossible to get a timely appointment. Overall I would recommend finding a different dentist. However did want to mention that the dentist herself is not bad just her office at scheduling and excessive fees. read more

Don't. It was awful. I was in a lot of pain and the main concern for the staff was that I agree to pay to have other teeth fixed--not the one causing me extreme pain. What is wrong with you people? I needed an oral surgeon and they gave me a phone number to an office in Fullerton where there was no answer. We had to contact our insurance to find an oral surgeon and there are many who take our insurance in Santa Ana, NOT FULLERTON OR CHINO HILLS. The person who went over the pricing with me got upset because I didn't understand why they were quoting me prices for cleanings etc. and there was zero quoted info about what my insurance would cover. This person whispered to me "you are being rude" over and over again. I tried to assure her that I was not trying to hurt her, but that the numbers she was quoting me made no sense. She is young, I took her arm and told her it was okay, that she'd done nothing wrong because she was starting to cry. She simply repeated to me that I was being rude to her. I tried to let the dentist know that this young woman seemed unwell, but she didn't care. I felt like I was at a used car lot with the push to sell me services. Turns out they quoted us the wrong prices. Our insurance covers a lot more than they told us. Also I sat in the dentist chair looking at pictures of my teeth--one tooth is infected and the photo was gross. I have other damaged teeth and I was forced to sit there looking at them for 40 minutes. We made a formal complaint to the insurance company. They dentist said she could give me antibiotics, but didn't so we had to call them back to get them to send the prescription to the pharmacy. I'm going to ask again, what part of I'm in extreme pain were you and your staff not hearing????????? The woman doing the x-rays seemed nice, but she also seemed unconcerned that I was in extreme pain. As I said, don't. I have a masters degree in public health. Everything from check-in to the follow up call was perfect. Dr. Nazeri and her assistant took great care of my daughter. They made her feel comfortable and worked with her gently to help her get through the procedure quickly as she doesn't do well at the dentist office. I'm so glad we chose Dr. Nazeri. Her office is clean and beautiful and they go above and beyond to make customers feel safe during this pandemic we are having. They all wear masks/shields and have sanitizer everywhere for the patients to use. We definitely felt safe and comfortable in Dr. Nazeri's hands. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Nazeri's for about two years. I only ever really saw her for my routine cleanings. I'd never had an issue or any reason to complain or have any negative feelings during that time...until this January. Last December, I got my first adult cavity on an upper back molar. I was due for a cleaning anyways, so I figured two birds. I called to schedule an appt. I heard some office noise in the background (no more than usual) and it sounded like the woman I spoke with was momentarily distracted, but I double checked with her I would be seen for both and she said yes, so I thought nothing of it. Cut to my appt, I'm signing the paperwork, I mention to the hygienist "and we're filling my cavity too?" thinking it should be listed on the sheet and she says should the doctor think it needs filling yes and I sign it. Then after my cleaning when they're sending me on my way, obviously confused, I ask again about my cavity. The woman at the reception (a different one, who is also a hygienist from what I believe, I know a lot of them hop back and forth) tells me I'll have to schedule another appointment for this in 2 weeks. I'm trying to remain as calm as possible but am a little frustrated that something clearly got lost in translation. Initially I left to my car defeated, but then I walked back in and politely implored them if it was possible to fill my cavity today as I drove all the way out from Moreno Valley and I explicitly mentioned it over the phone and that was the main reason for my visit. They went to ask Dr. Nazeri and she agreed to do it to which I was so relieved and thankful, but then I was met with a lot of passive aggression and hostility. As I was being prepped for my filling, two staff members and Nazeri all separately asked me when I was alone with them if I happened to remember the name of the staff member whom I spoke to on the phone. A different woman also asked me this at the front desk when I walked back in and pleaded my case, so pretty much everyone. Now, not only is that not my job, but I spoke with a woman over the phone (and always have with their office) and there are like three other women in that office on any given day, so no, I had no idea who I spoke to. The first time I was asked felt reasonable, the third and fourth time felt like they were trying to catch me in a lie. It was off-putting and uncomfortable to be so blatantly doubted, as though pulling one over on my dental office is how I get my kicks. Then we get to the actual filling. I'm given novocaine and she begins drilling MAYBE two or three minutes later. And it HURT. I could feel the heat of the drill on my tooth at some points. I hadn't had a filling since I was a kid, so I didn't remember if that was normal or not. I just chalked it up to the deepness of the cavity and winced through it. It took less than 10 minutes, which I thought was fast, but I went on my merry way. When my bite and gum sensitivity hadn't gone away more than a week later, I called up Nazeri's office and made an appt to get it checked out. I explained I was having gum sensitivity when I floss around the tooth and when I'd bite into anything hard or crunchy my tooth felt funny and hurt. She had me bite some dye, filed my tooth down a little, and told me gum sensitivity was normal and healing is different for everyone. That's the last I saw of her. Fast forward to present day, I go in for a cleaning with my new Denti-Cal dentist (I turned 26 this year), and I tell her how I had this tooth filled in January, but am still experiencing gum and bite sensitivity on that tooth. She investigates, says she can redo it. Huzzah! This time around, I felt absolutely nothing when she used her drill on my tooth (novocaine actually works when it's given time to kick in, who knew?! your dentist DEFINITELY should), it took longer than 10 minutes, she even used a tool around the base of my tooth to better structure and avoid contact with the other teeth, and she checked twice that it was filed down properly to my bite. It's been a week and my bite and gum sensitivity is completely gone after literal MONTHS of pain and discomfort. It feels like the level of service I should've gotten from Nazeri's office the first time around, and any dentist's office frankly. The difference between this and my experience with Nazeri was night and day, and it's unfortunately the reason I felt compelled to now leave this review. I've already reviewed this place, but I'm doing it again as a bit of a six month update. Dr. Nazeri has been telling me about my grinding problem for the past few years, but I don't really notice it so I ignore her advice to get a reasonably priced mouthguard. This past visit, she asks me again if I am a grinder or a gritter. I tell her I don't really notice it and I ask her to show me with a mirror what teeth she's looking at so I can try to figure out when I'm doing it. She shows me my flattened canines and explains they're supposed to be pointed! She walks away to grab something and I IMMEDIATELY notice myself gritting my teeth. I suddenly realize I'm doing it All. The. Time. She shows me one more thing: if I keep doing it, my teeth will get smaller and my face will look "older" or more advanced in age than I really am, as I'll be gnawing them away. Imagine that toothless kind elderly lady look. Yikes! Does she know how much I spend on Botox to look younger?? I immediately go out and get a mouth guard from Amazon. Bonus: they work as teeth whitening trays, which she has also recommended I try. Love this woman and her economical approach to solving simple problems. In short: Doctor was extremely rough/rushed/damaging in her cleaning, I was mislead and not informed on the difference between a deep cleaning and a routine cleaning, and the result cost me $165. My insurance is with SunLife, which gives me a list of dental offices to select, and I selected this one due to the good reviews. I arrive to the office, fill out some paperwork, and do a few x-rays/photos. Though the purpose of the appointment was for a standard cleaning, they told me I had to come back a different time. I looked it up online, and this practice isn't uncommon, so I consented and came back two weeks later. The second time, they lead me to a chair, take blood pressure and try to sell some additional treatments that they were clear weren't covered by my insurance, and then left me waiting for the doctor. The doctor finally arrives after quite sometime, immediately sits down without introducing herself, and aggressively starts scraping my teeth/gums. She was rough and caused a lot of pain, and actually left me with a small flap of gum or nerve behind a tooth that I could move with my tongue and gives an extremely odd feeling, which has dulled but hasn't gone away as of writing this. Keep in mind that I have fairly decent teeth: no cavities, brush twice a day, floss, etc. I specifically kept track of the time on the monitor in front of me, and from sitting down to her leaving took her no more than 9 minutes. An assistant followed and did some polishing which went smoothly, and took much longer than the cleaning itself. When I finally get back to the reception desk, they inform me that this will be $165. I find out that the "deep" cleaning is not covered by my insurance. My verbiage from the beginning was a routine/standard cleaning, I had no idea that I was undergoing a "deep" cleaning, and no one communicated the difference to me. Also, is a "deep" cleaning really worth 9 minutes of aggressive stabbing and scraping? I've had "standard" cleanings at least twice as long. There was also a "sales" feeling, as they tried to sell me products multiple times that would be an out-of-pocket expense. Definitely did not seem like they had my best interests in mind. While the staff and assistants were polite (except for the nameless doctor, will always ask for their name in the future), this was overall a terrible experience and I won't be coming back. I'm not normally a person to leave reviews, and even writing this one I decided to wait to make sure I wasn't jumping to any conclusions. Hopefully the fact that I needed to write my first review will be forewarning to others. read more

I love this dentist, Of course I only ever go when I have a problem or pain, I know I should go more often as I need a lot of work done but time and time again they always get me in last minute. I have had two root canals here and they are super cool about it, non judgmental and affordable. I'm heading in today for another root canal... Update: saw Dr. Tran and it went really well, this guy knows his stuff and is a great dentist. I seriously can't recommend him enough. Zero pain, which is a first for me and root canals. read more

I waited two months to come in for a check-up and a basic cleaning on a Saturday (so I don't have to miss work) as a new patient. When I arrived and met the dentist, I was told that they don't do cleanings on Saturdays!? Then she blamed the situation on her front office staff and repeatedly asked me if I remembered the name of the person who scheduled me, which made me feel uncomfortable. Before the dentist even saw my teeth, she told me to floss more often, to only use an electric toothbrush (I alternate tooth brushes between electric and regular which my previous dentist told me to do with good results), and asked if I had ever had a deep cleaning done before. Seems she already had decided which service she wanted to charge me for although I have never needed a deep cleaning my whole life. When she finally did the exam, she didn't really take the time to look at my teeth thoroughly, she just took a brief look and asked me to reschedule to come back another day. The X'rays equipment is truly a state-of-the-art instrument wielded by the able skillful hands of Jessel and Annet, who produce the highest resolution frames of pictures for the Doctor to review, with the least discomfort to the patient. Once the films were ready "to tell tale" my Dental disposition, CAME THE DOCTOR WHO HAS A VERY FRIENDLY DEMEANOR YET PROFESSIONAL IN HER APPROACH AND WENT THROUGH THE PROS AND CONS IN DETAIL OF MY DENTAL SITUATION AND ALSO GAVE HER EXPERT PERSPECTIVE AND DISCERNMENT TO VARIOUS MODES OF TREATMENT. This is not a review on the actual service of the dentist, but my experience with a phone call... I read all the great reviews, so I decided to call and make an appointment for just a general cleaning. I moved to the area, so I needed a new dentist. For reference, I have never had a cavity and take pretty good care of my teeth. Every 6 months, I get a general cleaning. No issues to report. Well, I was a little taken back by the dentist's "new patient policy". Apparently, you need to make one appointment to just get x-ray's. THEN, the dentist review's the xrays at a later time and the office will call to make a second appointment, with the type of cleaning service you need. Hmm...maybe I'm new to this new type of "service," but I've never heard this before. I simply need a general cleaning. If you're a good dentist, I'll come back to you every 6 months, religiously. Maybe this dentist wants to get more money out of you or your insurance plan for special "deep cleaning"...I don't know. Just a little odd to me. Yelp is a good source to find reviews on whatever and I use it quite often. I wanted to make sure you were aware of this "policy" before you waste your time. She is always on time. I am a wimp when it comes to pain but Dr. Nazeri is always very concerned that my discomfort is minimal. She works quickly and efficiently, minimizing my time in the chair. She works with my insurance plan, advising me on the best and most cost effective approach to my dental care. I am a new customer to Orange Coast Dental but so far it has been a great experience. I had a root canal done years ago and never got the crown put on it. It had started to bother me so I went in and it was literally the easiest experience at a dentist I have had. I was able to get the crown on in no time. I have a few other things I need to go back for and financially its not a good time but i didnt feel pressured by anyone to come in right away. They were totally willing to work with me. As a new patient the process was beyond wonderful. The staff was friendly and professional throughout my whole experience. I called to ask a few questions about insurance and was able to provide my info and complete a new patient form via email which made for a speedy appointment day process. When I arrived check in was easy and the office was gorgeous! Very clean and inviting. Dr. Nazeri was the best!! She made sure I was comfortable and made sure I understood my treatment options. Orange Coast Dental is what all dental clinics should be!! Dr. Nazeri is the example of a great, honest, caring dentist. I had a tooth that has been giving me trouble She took time to explain and clearly point out the problem area on the x-rays. During the procedure, she made sure I was comfortable and checked with me several times to note my comfort level. The Front office is very friendly. They Checked my insurance  before my appointment explained my insurance coverage and copayments clearly.  Here, they are trying their best to take care of the patients with minimum waiting time. The entire staff genuinely cares about their patients.  This is the first time I have ever been to a dentist were I fully enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend this clinic. I came in for a crown to Dr. Nazeri on August 15th 2017. I was fitted with a temporary crown and returned 2 weeks later for the actual crown which did not fit properly due to the margins being off. She sent the crown back to the Lab and I returned again 2 weeks later, same thing happened and again the 3rd time around 2 weeks later. I finally requested for Dr. Nazeri to please use a different Lab for the crown if indeed it was an error on the Lab's part for the crown not fitting correctly and the margins being consistently off. I returned again on October 4th, 2017 for the crown and this time around, she drilled some more into my tooth. I asked her why she was drilling again and she said that she was removing cement to make the crown fit properly. It felt like she was drilling into the tooth for a couple of minutes. She then put the real crown in and said that she was going to push the crown in fairly hard with an instrument and that I would feel some pressure, which I did. After the local anesthetic wore off, I felt a sharp pain in my tooth and suddenly I was now sensitive to hot and cold! I could also feel and see a "big gap" between the crown and my now exposed tooth. I called Dr. Nazeri the very next morning and came into her office to tell her about the pain, the sensitivity to hot and cold and to show her the "big gap" between the crown and my now exposed tooth. I informed her that I was also worried about food getting stuck there now and possibly creating a cavity in the future. She assured me that the gap between the crown and my real tooth, now being exposed, was perfectly normal and that I might be in pain due to my tooth just healing from the crown. She also said that the hot and cold sensitivity should go away and to give it time. I took her word for it and waited 20 days to give it "time to heal" but it only became worse, so I called her back again. This time, she suggested that I see her Endodontist for a possible Root Canal. Just to clarify, at no point, was I ever sensitive to hot and cold and in extreme pain, until the very last and final crown that Dr. Nazeri had put on my tooth. If I would have been sensitive to hot and cold from the beginning when I first saw Dr.Nazeri on August 15th, 2017, I would have been sent to an Endodontist right away instead going back and forth with Dr.Nazeri on a crown for almost 2 months that wasn't fitting properly with the margins. I finally lost faith in what Dr. Nazeri said and I went to another Dentist who removed the crown and stated that my tooth had not been prepared properly to start with, which could have been the reason for all of the crowns not fitting properly with the margins. The Dentist prepped my tooth properly and I was fitted with a crown which fit without a problem right away, however at this point, the nerve in my tooth had been damaged to the point where I now needed a Root Canal. I went back to Dr.Nazeri's office to get a refund for the crown that I had paid her for and I also wanted to show her the pictures that the other Dentist had taken to show her what the problem was, so that the same thing wouldn't happen to any of her future patients. Dr. Nazeri did not come to the front desk, so I showed the images to the receptionist instead and explained it to her and asked her to please relay the message to Dr.Nazeri, because I didn't want anybody else to go through what I had gone through with my experience with her. The receptionist then gave me a paper to read that basically stated that Dr. Nazeri did not admit any wrong doing and that I was not allowed to speak derogatory about my experience with Dr. Nazeri to anybody. I told the receptionist that I absolutely did not agree with that statement and that she cannot tell me that I am not allowed to talk about my experience and what I went through with her working on my tooth. I felt that was a form of intimidation. I asked the receptionist if I would still get my refund even though I did not agree with Dr. Nazeri statement. The receptionist went to ask Dr. Nazeri this and then back came back and said that I would still get my refund. read more

I hate finding a new dentist but I chose Orange Coast Dental due to its location and decent reviews. When I called to schedule an appointment, they had lots of availability but they required that the first appointment not be a cleaning because they needed to do x-rays and an exam first. When I arrived for my appointment, the space was clean with new equipment. The staff was friendly. I hadn't seen a dentist in about a year but I thought it was strange they didn't ask for past dental records or x-rays. I didn't wait long to be taken back for the x-rays. After the exam, they said I had a few cavities that needed fills and the dentist said a technician would be in to go over my treatment plan. The tx plan was clear with itemized costs (after my insurance) for each recommended service. The thing that struck me and unfortunately what leads to me not going back is on the plan they split up the recommended services into 4 different appointments (which seemed like a lot for just wanting a cleaning and fillings done) and the first 2 appointments were deep cleanings which were $100 each. I asked if my insurance covered a cleaning and they said yes but it was only the general cleaning, not the recommended deep cleaning. I understand a business has to make their money somehow but they kept pushing that the deep cleaning was strongly recommended even after I clearly stated I wouldn't be doing that. I didn't like that they put the unnecessary cleanings before my fillings and that they kept pushing something that I didn't see as a necessity. If you go into a dentist office knowing what you want and are able to say "no" multiple times then this place may not bother you but I prefer an honest dentist that won't sell me on unnecessary services. Dr Nazeri and staff always make my visits enjoyable and the new equipment and office design make you feel more like you are at a spa than a dental office. I've had cleanings, fillings, and other work done there and have always left with a smile :) read more

Dr. Nazeri cares for her patients. She talks to you as a friend and explains everything without falling into confusing medical jargon. If I have my way, she'll be my dentist for life. She's efficient and gentle. I move never had such a positive visit (well, several now) to a dentist before. Her staff is equally gentle and caring. read more

I am really scared of the dentist after a horrible experience. I was so pleased with the treatment, explanations, etc. with Dr. Nazeri. She explained what she was doing, how to care for my teeth, and showed prices before performing anything. I will definitely continue going to this dentist! read more
