Although my most recent stop was Saturday Night for a Washington Avenue pubcrawl, looking through the pictures I realize I'd been at Mickey Burkes more than a few times whether after a Miami Music Week show or Food & Wine Fest after party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a solid sports bar right on Washington Avenue with lots of TV's showing a multitude of games, along with a stage for a cover band.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This most recent visit (pub crawl), I enjoyed a strong whiskey & blue curacao cocktail. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy a solid pour at this kind of event! A few other times I've enjoyed their burgers and old fashioneds. I need to keep myself acquainted with this spot!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]They've got a solid bar lined with TVs for the games, and the place has that lively, loud pub energy that makes you question whether the room is noisy or if your group is the noisy one.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Honestly, it might have been us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Either way, it's a great stop if you need a place to wind down, wait for your Uber, or let the beach traffic calm down before making your escape.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First and foremost, the amazing Johann!!! So friendly, welcoming, funny, he would be one of the main reasons we come back here!! We stopped in for a couple cocktails and a snack. Ended up with the cheese curds (highly recommend), and a couple vodka drinks and some beer. Love the ambience of this place. Mix of sports bar and classier joint. We are only in town for a night before our cruise, but I think I found my new Miami Beach spot!

Amazing!!!! One of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. It was so good that I had to stop and take a photo to send to friends back in Los Angeles. 70s/80s funk need I say more. Well actually it's a lot more the custom cocktails are unique, well balance and a divine dance in your mouth. I had already eaten so it was just truffle fries for me. My son and I visited Miami Beach South for a long NFL weekend. We stumbled across Mickey Burkes bar and instantly fell in love with the bar, staff and atmosphere. We were welcomed into the bar by all of the staff who attended to our every need. We asked to book a table for the next night and our table was waiting. This place just felt like home and the staff like friends. I have never been to a more welcoming bar and only wish we had one like this where I live. Everything about this place is 5 star. read more

Pretty standard sports bar across the board. Not bad but not overly impressed either. Television situation could use improvement. Larger tv's behind the bar, but there are also several tiny televisions that are hard to see depending on the game you are watching. read more

Coming from Los Angeles this was one of the best bars I have been to. It was so hard finding a hazy IPA on tap anywhere I went, but surely they had it! The food was delicious as well! Mickey Burkes is fantastic. The bar manager welcomed us loudly as we walked in on our first visit. She took time to answer my questions about their amazing looking cocktail menu and the technique she used to make the drinks. The food was clearly very fresh and put together in a well thought out menu. On our 2nd visit the next day, the service was similar. friendly host at the door, busy and friendly server, and the GM, Kristen, took time to chat with us when she dropped our meal at the table. highly recommend if you are visiting South Beach. read more

Where do I even start? I took on the task of setting up an event for everyone at our conference to watch the College Football Championship game. Kristen and Mike helped me set up everything. They emailed me all the details and what options they have for a large group food wise and how we can go about sectioning off a portion of the bar and restaurant. The service was Michelin star level service, 5 star food, and an unforgettable experience. I don't travel to Miami often but this is 100% without a single doubt my go to spot every single visit going forward. If you want a solid experience with a solid team, this is your place to be. AWFUL service. The small napoleon-syndrome manager is a complete douche bag. Food was fine otherwise. We came in 3 nights ago and received wonderful service and food - no complaints. We then came in on a Sunday night to watch football and grab food and drinks. The manager was a complete snob to us and treated us like garbage on two separate occasions. We have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. It's a shame we will never eat here again because the food was very good. read more

Had an amazing experience here with my entire family, the owner was super friendly, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend the poutine appetizer. This is truly a great spot for any occasion; happy hour, date night, or group meals. I will most certainly be back. They also used to serve tots which I remember being great but I'm pretty certain are no longer served. The only reason I give it a 4 is because of the cigarette smell. Other than that it's a great place to chill and play pool. Actually one of the only places you can find where you just pay $1 or so per game as opposed to paying by the hour.

It took over 15 minutes for our waitress to even come to our table. When she finally did, she asked what we wanted to order, but we hadn't been given menus yet. She brought them over and walked away. Another 15 minutes went by before she returned. When we asked about the drink specials, she looked away and walked off without answering. At that point, we decided to get up and leave. As Miami locals, we truly enjoy supporting our city's restaurants, which made this experience even more disappointing. I would hate for visitors to receive this same level of service and leave with a negative impression of our city.

Years ago I'd come here after the beach, sit on the balcony, people-watch, and cool off with a strong, frozen drink. In that sense, the place is exactly as I remember, with cold drinks on a hot Miami day and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the billing experience completely changed how I felt about our visit. When the check arrived, I noticed the suggested tip percentages were unusual (around 7%, 8%, and 9%). I was planning to leave my normal 20% tip, but then the gentleman behind the bar explained that a 15% gratuity had already been added and the listed percentages would be additional. To be clear: I always tip, and I generally tip well. But adding a gratuity without authorization or clearly disclosing it up front is a big deal. A tip is supposed to be voluntary, and quietly including one, especially in a setting where you're already prompted to add more, feels misleading and wildly inappropriate. That part honestly overshadowed the visit for me. The drinks and the memories are still there, but check your bill carefully before paying. I enjoyed the nostalgia, yet this practice alone makes me hesitant to return. This practice of discretely tipping themselves is borderline theft.

We went to Mickey B to watch the NBA playoff games and had a great time. The place was packed with Knicks fans, which made the atmosphere loud and fun all night. Service was surprisingly fast even with the crowd, and the staff kept things moving. Drinks and food were definitely on the pricey side, but you're paying for the Miami Beach location and the game day vibes! We met some really nice people while there and they immediately became Knicks fans just from all the fun, and shouting our table was doing. Mickey Burkes is an awesome bar with great drinks, great food, great service and great ambiance. It's by far the best bar for sports in Miami and a great spot for drinks and hanging out with friends.
