We've been enjoying Mickey's in Tinley for 50 years. Literally. We saw them open. This last trip, 3.3.26 was a notably bad experience. Gyro meat was OK but dry, sauce was different and different is not good for mickeys, fries were bland, cheese dip tasted plastic, onions were chemical, like they changed all their recipes in 3 months time. The gyro was amazing--loaded with meat, perfectly seasoned, and extremely tasty. They definitely give you your money's worth! I also love that they offer a cash discount, which makes their already great prices even better. Hard to beat quality food at a great price. My family has come to Mickey's for years. Their Downtown Tinley Park location offers a fast casual dining room and food that is always made to order. The menu has a variety of options like hot dogs, burgers, gyros, chicken, ribs, sausage, and more. You can always find something delicious for a decent price. If one orders inside, I've never waited longer than 8 minutes. They do have a drive through but going in is sometimes faster since everything is made to order. It always nostalgic to come to Mickey's and see the same faces of workers and management who have been here for years. It's very hard to find consistency in fast food restaurants but Mickey's has it down pat. This is my idea of a fast food restaurant that's exceptional. The place is clean. The bathrooms are clean and an owner is always on the promises and they have a great chicken euro and they do it whatever way you want it done my wife and I went there tonight we had dinner. We were going to a show and we knew this would be a place we could get in and out of quickly so it's an easy five star. read more

My wife and I were in Tinley Park from Iowa visiting family. We had a large family gathering of ~20 people and had catered by Mickey's. We had gyro meat, beef, pitas, bread, and a large pan of salad. Late post Hubby and I picked up dinner from here last night. We shared an order of the full slab baby back ribs with baked potato and jumbo shrimp dinner with fries. Coleslaw and garlic bread also came with it. The baby back ribs were tender but we didn't care for the barbecue sauce. We both enjoyed the jumbo shrimps and the cocktail sauce it came with. Patrons can dine in but since we were on the go, we went through the drive through. Staff was friendly. They definitely have a variety of options to choose from, so we will definitely be back to try another entree or two. read more

The gyro is good, but the service is NOT . The owner is unbelievably rude. We got there at 7:35 to put in our order and would have finished eating close to 8pm at closing time but the owner is so RUDE , he intentionally turns off the lights and let you finish eating your last few minutes in the dark and when asked about it, he doesn't care . They have a sign "appreciate your business " on the door but they don't appreciate it enough for you to finish eating with the lights on . UNBELIEVABLE that at 7:58 he turned off the lights why we were eating and finished at 8:05 and they are still closing up registers and cleaning up the kitchen with the lights on !!!! I stopped here with a friend while we were out going door to door campaigning. So glad we went here. The name is Ribs and Gyros but we both had hot dogs. Go figure. But for lunch this is a good pick for me. The place is super neat, clean and modern. The service and employees are excellent! The food is great! My buddy had a chili dog with relish. Relish? Anyhow he told me it was good. I had what I always have as my dog style which is Chicago Style. I am a hot dog connoisseur so my opinion matters! HA! This dog was great! At least a 8.5 out of 10. Was very very disappointed in my visit ! Confused counter people only knowing the basic order taking skills to the point of arguing 5th grade math ! Containers are smaller resulting in less food the amount of meat I got did nit fill the 2 pitas and even the elimination of side items that were staples for decades ! No feta cheese and olives in my gyro plate smaller bags for fries not filled ? That along with a price increases that has almost doubled the cost in only a few years just adds insult to injury ! I remember when the first people served us in the old building and the value we got then ! This is a poor excuse of that ! This is a great alternative to the average fast food chain. I'm not a fan of styrofoam containers but that eliminates dish washing for them. Also the soda dispenser isn't self-serve. With that said, I can tell you the food is good and they have got all the meats covered. The ribs come with toasted bread and coleslaw. Choice of fries or baked potato, sour cream and butter on the side. The gyro platter is enough for two people. It includes fries and two pitas. The dining area is laid out in a configuration that isn't to cramped. They have Monday and Tuesday specials .Wednesday is senior discount day. Check for their coupons in the mail. Today I patronize this location for the last time. There were 2 tables of customers on a very busy pre holiday shopping day and my husband and I split a Beef sandwich. The sandwich was the worst I have ever eaten, like it was fake meat. The owner was there and the counter help was rude. There was an African American customer who stood at the counter and the woman taking the order said to him.. What are you afraid to order? It was horrible. I came here after I picked up my child from the nearby catholic school usually they were pretty good but today will be the last day I came today Mary had took my order over the drive-thru I asked for a gyro sandwich plain they gave me a plate with everything on it. I also asked for 2 orders of 3 bosco sticks and when I got home I was missing one bag of bosco sticks and saw my gyro with everything on it so I called them the 1st girl who answered was nice told her they only gave me a merchant copy receipt I checked the bags no other receipt was in it. The girl looked over and found my receipt and was telling the other lady who actually took my order her name was Mary so she took over the phone told me I got my bosco sticks I said one bag she goes that is what I order told her no I order 2 orders of bosco sticks. Which then she proceeded to tell me how to order next time say 4 or 6 bosco sticks basically its my fault for not knowing the lingo as far as the gyro I got a plate which cost more than a sandwich cause it comes with fries I proceeded to tell her that's fine but it has everything on it I really did not care for the upcharge since it was a plate than just a sandwich the point was I wanted it PLAIN which it was not. She then decided to throw the cook under the bus and was like well look I put the order in the cook probably made the mistake but you got everything there. I go no I actually do not I am missing a bosco stick of 3 then she continued to interrupt me using "ma'am ma'am" everything is there now what do you want to do with the gyro. Basically told her if it's this much of a hassle for a bag of bosco sticks and to fix my gyro to be plain I truly do not want to come back here ever again. I will be sure to tell moms from the local catholic school of this craziness and unprofessional customer service I received. I've been going to Mickey's Gyros periodically since I was a young lad (something like 40 years). Ever since they were a little walk up and carry away joint in back in the day. Always good value, tasty food and I love the breaded cauliflower chunks and almost never miss a vanilla malt. The owner is always nice and staff are nearly spot on everytime. Now I'm bubba sized guy and I usually order a Gyro (sauce on side and an extra cup of sauce) and a 1/3 lb Mickey with mustard, mayo, onion and extra pickles. I was actually gonna walk down that path today but Mickey's had alternative plans for me. I was contemplating "how much would they charge me to put gyro meat on my cheeseburger?" and then "gosh, would they even do that?". Then I saw the sign for a Big Mickey with Gyro meat stacked on top. Ahhhh mannnn.... Ordered it as is and it was dang awesome. I literally stopped between bites to appreciate how dang tasty this burger is. Now I'm no burger joint purveyor but I will order this again and make some subtle changes. I'm gonna leave the mustard off and add on pickles. I think the crisp bite of the pickles will place nicely. I'm also going to order it with the sauce on the side and pay for an extra cup of sauce. Running out of gyro sauce makes me sad. Oh, and I'll be ordering my breaded cauliflower chunks (and have them pulled up just bit early as I don't like them with a heavy crunch). They have the Most amazing gyros. The gyro plate could easily serve two people, but my boyfriend and I both got our own plates. I'm really glad we did, because they were absolutely delicious. The Gyro meat was so tender, and the pitas were perfectly toasted. They also have the most amazing tzatziki sauce, and served a ton of onions and sliced tomato with the gyros. Food is decent for what it is. A little pricey but not terrible. Service is usually somewhat rude. Least favorite part is the 3% fee for using a card. They say your total is one price when you order and when you check your receipt it is a different price and they say it's because you used a card. You can raise your prices, do a cash discount, or ask card or cash when people are making the order. I understand it is a small amount, but that is a cost of doing business and shouldn't be passed on to the customer. Also, you need to tell people the amount you are charging their card. Wife and I both got a slab of ribs. Probably the worst food I've eaten in my life, and I've done plenty of "I dare you to eat that" situations. The ribs are boiled to the point the meat is just tasteless gray mush. The membrane is still left on; but hey, it's mush, so it just slides off with a fork. After 1/2 a slab, I tossed it in the garbage. Wife ate 2 ribs and tossed the rest of her slab. The fries were tasteless, as well as the garlic bread. Thought about giving the meat to the dogs. But this meat was below "low grade dog food". I know, I know... I ate half a slab-ish; I was starving. If you want slightly better quality food, and have to stop there, I would suggest going straight to source, the dumpster. read more
