I am so glad we tried this restaurant! I made a Saturday night reservation for two. We were about 10 minutes late and the restaurant was super friendly and accepting of our tardiness. When we were seated, our waitress took several minutes to greet us and then our drinks were delayed. I was in absolute awe at our server who gave us complimentary cocktails for their delay. It was so considerate, especially because we were late too! The bread for the table was warm and fresh with good flavors of herbs. I wish the butter was salted all the way through rather than just a sprinkle on top. The beef short rib was tender and flavorful. The filet was cooked to perfection, although I wish I realized how much butter would be on top, it was a bit overpowering. The mashed potatoes really stole the show with the flavor and truffle. I am so impressed with this restaurant, it's been added to my list to come back!

What a beautiful restaurant. From the quiet, jazz music, the amazing hostess and our server was amazing. Food came out. Well hot deliciously seasoned. The drinks were strong. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the short ribs. My husband's ribeye was perfection. I would've ate his as well. Definitely would love to visit again.

I decided to treat myself to a solo bday dinner while in Charlotte. Found this place online and the name stood out so of course I pulled up the menu!!! I knew EXACTLY what I was going to order before I even left the hotel lol. Booked the reservation and put the note that it was my bday. This restaurant is located in the Ritz Carlton Hotel, walking in I was greeted by a very nice hostess who acknowledged it was my bday when given my name. My waiter said he heard it was a special day and asked was I waiting on someone to join me. Absolutely not I replied and from that small convo began the vibe for the rest of my night. He did a great job of explaining how my experience would go and the order in which my food would be coming out. My waiter was so personable and attentive, recommended drinks, since I don't drink anymore all of the recommendations he suggested the bartender turned them into mocktails. I ordered the Kale Caesar salad and Butternut Squash soup for my starters. The bread was mouth watering!!! The way my soup was presented was so cool. The bowl was brought out with a couple of ingredients sitting inside and then broth is poured into the bowl at the table. Entree: The Truffle Parmesan Fettuccini added salmon, I was IN LOVE!!!!! Though I wasn't able to finish my entree I made sure to leave room for the beignets!!! So glad I did these were delicious!! My waiter and the hostess sung happy birthday while bringing my dessert out with a candle for me to make a wish!!! This dinner was a great end to my bday weekend. I expected to just have a quiet solo dinner but ended up having an amazing experience with so many amazing people. This place is on my list to return when in Charlotte!!! Can't wait!!!

I came with one of my girlfriends back in September 2024 just a causal, "Hey girl I'm hungry, haven't seen you in a while. Let's have dinner" Now I came here when it used to be BLT, as you can see it is now Fifth Fork. It was on a Sunday and there were only two other tables dining when we were. Karen was our waitress! She was divine and very knowledgeable. She clearly takes hospitality seriously and I recognize that. I did inquire about the change from BLT to 5th and Fork and she was able to provide me with an answer and what the new changes are and would be in the near future. I enjoyed ALL of my food, yum yum in my tums. My friend found the chicken to be a bit lackluster on her end. She only really had about two bites. I did let Karen know and she informed the manager Kevin about it. He was gracious to take it off the bill. I wasn't really expecting that, nonetheless, great client management skills. I had a typical steak, sides and glass of wine. We weren't ready to end our night. Since The Punch Room isn't open on Sundays, Karen suggested we mosey on over to The K Lounge to visit Jasmine the bartender. Head over to that on Yelp to see my review.

The food here was delicious. The steak and scallops were cooked to the right temperature. The service was OK but management was excellent making sure to stop by the tables to see if everything was to our likings.

it was very sad finding out BLT closed but we found the Fifth Fork opened in its place so we decided to give it a try. since we already had dinner, we just ordered their dessert at the bar. the host that night was super friendly and the whole atmosphere was very nice. we got the chocolate truffle cheesecake. it comes with candied hazelnuts and raspberry coulis. the presentation was beautiful and the taste itself was amazing! a good solid dessert.

Fifth and Fork at the Ritz was an amazing experience. In the night that we attended the staff was fully engaged with us making amazing recommendations based on our likes. The drinks were mixed well and the ambiance was amazing for a date night or a night out with friends. The food was cooked to the perfect temperature and well balanced.

Nothing bad to say about this spot. We ate there because it's inside the Ritz Carlton, where we were staying. I had the Carolina skillet and the steak was amazing!!!!!!! Super flavorful. My partner had the vegetarian skillet but vegan style (aka no egg or cheese), and add avocado. It's around $20 for a plate. The server was very pleasant, helped with all our needs. Overall it was a nice spot.

The place is pricey and I was worried about the prices vs the quantity of food because most of the yelp reviews did not have pictures of their food. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the price matched the flavor, the service, and the amount of food! I was very indecisive because it was a very busy day but I wanted a good meal and my moneys worth. I can not remember my sever's name, but he suggested the scallops and the lobster Mac and cheese and I had more than enough food (enough for leftovers) and it tasted really good. I'm not a fan of Mac and cheese, but this lobster and Mac appeared to be a simple yet tasty dish. I was here on a Friday night and practically had the place to myself. The ambiance gives upscale date night. You can dress up or casually dress down. The restaurant is connected to the ritz Carlton but I did noticed an outside entrance where you can come directly to the restaurant without walking thru the hotel. I enjoyed my dinner and the lobster Mac is alone is a good enough reason to come back. Thanks for a great experience!

Tucked at 435 S Tryon, this spot feels like stepping back in time while still enjoying modern elegance. The building itself is the star before you even sit down: a beautifully preserved 1929 Mediterranean Revival gem (originally Ratcliffe's Florist Shop) with original floors, red-brick walls and those stunning decorative Tiffany-style stained-glass windows. The arched ceilings and historic details make the whole room glow -- it's romantic, warm, and full of old Charlotte charm without feeling stuffy. You can literally feel the history while you dine. The menu has that perfect "olden take" I was hoping for -- classic fine-dining favorites done with fresh, New American flair. Think herb-crusted rack of lamb with rosemary jus, pan-seared Chilean sea bass, local shrimp & grits, or a perfectly grilled filet mignon; not leave out the duck, elk and emu. Everything is beautifully plated, and the portions are generous for this level. (Pro tip: add the lobster tail upgrade if you're celebrating!) Service was polished and friendly -- our server knew the wine list and the building's backstory, which made the night even more special. The whole experience felt special-occasion worthy but not pretentious. Whether you're coming before a show at the Knight Theatre or just treating yourself Uptown, Bernardin's delivers on atmosphere, history, and food. Easily one of my new favorite spots in Charlotte. Warm bread and soft butter is the ultimate pair. I got the escargot to start and was impressed at the texture of them. Usually they tend to be pretty tough but these weren't! The sauce they come with was very good but lightly spicy, so I would watch out for that if you have an aversion to spice. For my main, I got the filet and added in a lobster tail. The only thing I'll note is that the menu says it comes with fingerling potatoes and I don't think that's what I got. Not a huge issue obviously. I liked that the tables were a good distance from each other and the servers were very kind and knowledgeable. Everything was amazing and if I lived in Charlotte, I would be going here often.

We had reservations but it wasn't overly busy so I don't think they were necessary for that day and time but I would definitely recommend on busier times. I love the fact that this is more of a tapas style restaurant so you can order and taste a ton of options. Plates are generally around $14-22 per plate and they have enough for three or four (tapas style). We started with crab dip and oysters on the half shell (raw). The crab dip was rich and creamy and served with buttered crusty, buttered bread. The oysters were amazing too but a little nuance about these: they are listed by region (e.g. West Coast, Mid-Atlantic, etc.) and not listed as they type of oyster. Oysters vary greatly within a single region so I would encourage you to ask what specific oysters they serve for each region (they will look it up and tell you) to make sure you know what you are getting. We also ordered the calamari, small salad (unlisted option for the salad listed on the menu) and poke bowl to share. We went in hungry and probably ordered too much because this was all to start off. Everything was really good and worth ordering. For my "entree" or ordered the trout which comes with lentils and broccolini. This dish was fantastic and highly recommended. The trout was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our waitress, Tiffany, was amazing and did a great job. Additionally, this is the perfect spot for a "dinner and a show" since it is right beside the Knight theater. Parking is easily accessible at the Green Garage right across the street.

This restaurant is very nicely designed. It's visually appealing with tables indoors, a bar area, and an outside dining area. The hostess and my server were professional and extremely nice and made my dining experience very pleasant. The reason I am giving three stars instead of four or more comes down to value. Seafood is expensive, I get that. But I don't know that there's much value to be had here. Portion sizes are small relative to what you're paying for. And in my opinion, while the freshness and the quality of the seafood may be there, the flavor is not. I have no doubt that the quality of the seafood here is good. But I did not enjoy anything I ordered. I wasn't put off by the food, but I wish I had wanted to savor each bit. I ordered the cajun grilled oysters and the miso sablefish. I thought both were too salty and despite paying over $40 for the meal, I left still a bit hungry.

The bartender (Kevin?) was engaging and attentive, as were others working behind the bar. They make you kind of feel like regulars, and that vibe led to good conversations with other patrons. The drink menu is impressive, with the usual classics but also many variants on them; all of which sounded really good. My business partner had the Ube Sour. The flavors, including Sweet Potato powder, where unique and really good. I had a Vesper that was prepared perfectly. Pricing on the wines by the glass were very good and the selection was excellent. My business partner had the Seafood Pasta with squid ink spaghetti. He loved it and the spicy tomato sauce. There was plenty of perfectly cooked seafood. I had the roasted Sea Bass with Broccolini. So good! But what really got me was an add-on side of Seafood Mashed Potatoes. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was wonderful enough to be an entree by itself. Shrimp and Langostinos in an incredible cream sauce over buttery mashed potatoes (see pic). Desserts were also excellent. My business partner had what I think was a coconut crema, which he loved. I had two scoops of house made ice cream (vanilla and pistachio) with berries; also very, very good. I mentioned attention to details at the start. An example of this watching staff behind the bar polishing glasses. Polishing, not just washing. Because it was the final weekend of Charlotte's Restaurant Week, my wife ordered the hanger steak, paired with lobster bisque and the North Carolina apple bread pudding. The steak had excellent flavor, a perfect char, and was cooked exactly as requested. The bisque was especially welcome on a cold night, though it was a bit heavier on salt than I prefer. Review for Brown Bag Seafood Co…read more This was my first introduction to Brown Bag Seafood Co., and since we don't have this concept back in Northern California, I was definitely curious to try it. As someone who grew up around incredible seafood in the Bay Area -- places like Sam's Chowder House and New England Fish Company -- my expectations were naturally a little high. When you're close to the coast, the bar for seafood is set pretty high. That said, this is a very simple, fast-casual seafood concept, and they execute that model consistently. I've now visited a few locations -- one in Huntersville, one that used to be in South End on Worthington, and this Uptown location on Tryon -- and they all share the same strengths: * Clean, well-organized spaces * Nice outdoor seating * Convenient locations in walkable, high-traffic areas * Fast, efficient service The menu is straightforward but flexible. You can build your meal in a lot of different ways -- dress it up, keep it light, or customize it to your taste -- which is a big plus. Food-wise, it's good... just not memorable. The lobster roll, for me, was a little on the greasy side. I tend to prefer a lighter preparation. The tacos, on the other hand, were a better fit -- fresh, flavorful, and a bit easier to enjoy. Overall, the food is solid, but it hasn't quite become my first choice when I'm craving seafood. Value-wise, prices are reasonable for the concept, and the experience is reliable. It's a dependable option when you're downtown, short on time, or looking for a quick seafood fix. Bottom line: Clean, convenient, and consistent -- but not destination dining for me. Still, it's worth trying at least once to see how it fits your taste. Charlotte -- be curious and get out there and eat your way through this city. There's something for every palate.
