Went here this past weekend!! They have moved to the 15th floor during renovations and sadly have a different menu from my last review. BUT......everything was still AMAZING!!!! The bread came out hot and was oh so good. Appetizers: we ordered hummus, truffle fries(TOP TIER) and split a Caesar salad(DELICIOUS). Entrees: we ordered the Short Ribs w/ mash potatoes and the Cajun Fettuccine added Salmon and mushrooms. We enjoyed our meal so much so we wanted to order dessert but our stomachs honestly had absolutely no room left lol. This place will stay in my restaurant portfolio everytime I visit Charlotte. Roughly once a month I see a show in Charlotte at the Blumenthal and take myself out to dinner at a new place. The Fifth Fork did a lovely job accommodating a solo night. The staff was friendly, attentive, and once they knew I had a timeline to hit had kept everything on time to ensure I could make my show with plenty of time. The food was a bit of a mixed bag unfortunately. The Caesar salad was delicious and filling. The salmon was the miss. The salmon was overcooked and dry, where the creamed spinach was extremely bitter. I didn't end up finishing my entree which was disappointing. I would return in the future as I've heard other lovely things and would be open to trying other options. read more

Conveniently located close to the Spectrum Center, which worked out since we had a concert after dinner. This spot is in the Ritz Hotel, formally where BLT was and it's OK. The menu was decent and I ended up with the shrimp and grits was which was alright, not the best shrimp and grits I've ever had, but in the middle. I should add that the drinks were nice and strong, so that made up for where other things fell short. Would I go again? Maybe, but would not be in a rush. read more

I stayed in Charlotte for a few days. I walked the streets of uptown so many times that I no longer needed GPS to get around. There are tons of restaurants in the area, highly rated too, but I didn't feel like going into any of them. I kept walking and walking until I saw The Fifth Fork. Unlike every other restaurant in Charlotte, this one was empty and quiet; there were about 2 other guests in the whole restaurant when I walked in. I took a seat, not knowing what I was getting myself into at all. The menu is simple but delicious and seemed very fresh. I got the grouper. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. This restaurant is fancy but the staff is very personable and kind. To start off my meal, they gave me a complimentary bread roll. I will say, the bread wasn't the best because it was kind of stale, even though it was warm. I think it's just the texture of the bread that wasn't soft to begin with. One of the servers told me this restaurant will be changed into something completely different soon. Glad I got to try it when I did. read more

I am so glad we tried this restaurant! I made a Saturday night reservation for two. We were about 10 minutes late and the restaurant was super friendly and accepting of our tardiness. When we were seated, our waitress took several minutes to greet us and then our drinks were delayed. I was in absolute awe at our server who gave us complimentary cocktails for their delay. It was so considerate, especially because we were late too! The bread for the table was warm and fresh with good flavors of herbs. I wish the butter was salted all the way through rather than just a sprinkle on top. The beef short rib was tender and flavorful. The filet was cooked to perfection, although I wish I realized how much butter would be on top, it was a bit overpowering. The mashed potatoes really stole the show with the flavor and truffle. I am so impressed with this restaurant, it's been added to my list to come back! read more

What a beautiful restaurant. From the quiet, jazz music, the amazing hostess and our server was amazing. Food came out. Well hot deliciously seasoned. The drinks were strong. The food was amazing. I came with one of my girlfriends back in September 2024 just a causal, "Hey girl I'm hungry, haven't seen you in a while. Let's have dinner" Now I came here when it used to be BLT, as you can see it is now Fifth Fork. It was on a Sunday and there were only two other tables dining when we were. Karen was our waitress! She was divine and very knowledgeable. She clearly takes hospitality seriously and I recognize that. I did inquire about the change from BLT to 5th and Fork and she was able to provide me with an answer and what the new changes are and would be in the near future. I enjoyed ALL of my food, yum yum in my tums. My friend found the chicken to be a bit lackluster on her end. She only really had about two bites. I did let Karen know and she informed the manager Kevin about it. He was gracious to take it off the bill. I wasn't really expecting that, nonetheless, great client management skills. I had a typical steak, sides and glass of wine. We weren't ready to end our night. it was very sad finding out BLT closed but we found the Fifth Fork opened in its place so we decided to give it a try. since we already had dinner, we just ordered their dessert at the bar. the host that night was super friendly and the whole atmosphere was very nice. we got the chocolate truffle cheesecake. it comes with candied hazelnuts and raspberry coulis. the presentation was beautiful and the taste itself was amazing! a good solid dessert. read more

The place is pricey and I was worried about the prices vs the quantity of food because most of the yelp reviews did not have pictures of their food. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the price matched the flavor, the service, and the amount of food! I was very indecisive because it was a very busy day but I wanted a good meal and my moneys worth. I can not remember my sever's name, but he suggested the scallops and the lobster Mac and cheese and I had more than enough food (enough for leftovers) and it tasted really good. I'm not a fan of Mac and cheese, but this lobster and Mac appeared to be a simple yet tasty dish. I was here on a Friday night and practically had the place to myself. The ambiance gives upscale date night. You can dress up or casually dress down. The restaurant is connected to the ritz Carlton but I did noticed an outside entrance where you can come directly to the restaurant without walking thru the hotel. Nothing bad to say about this spot. We ate there because it's inside the Ritz Carlton, where we were staying. I had the Carolina skillet and the steak was amazing!!!!!!! Super flavorful. My partner had the vegetarian skillet but vegan style (aka no egg or cheese), and add avocado. It's around $20 for a plate. The server was very pleasant, helped with all our needs. The Fifth Fork located in the Ritz Calton has retained a lot of the menu items and the ambiance from the former occupant BLT and it is a good, viable restaurant on par with other Uptown Charlotte establishments of its caliber. Now, having said that, the delicious popovers are gone (kind of a letdown), but they have been replaced with a delicious bread that I haven't seen anywhere else in the city. The food quality and presentation was good and the service, starting with the hostess, was excellent. HOWEVER...There are wayyyyy too many, big sprawling booths in this place that take up all the space from tables and force people to sit on top of each other. The few tables that are there are very close to the kitchen and in a high traffic area. I don't care for sitting by the kitchen and looking back into the inner workings of the restaurant while I'm dining. I know BLT messed this up, but you guys can fix it...please fix it. The only thing that put me off about this place, and is the reason I'm giving it a 3, was when the management team received a request from a large party in a private dining room to brighten the lights, and he accommodated them by turning up the lights on the entire restaurant giving it a Waffle House or Hosopital Cafeteria vibe. Then, he would not turn the lights down, not even a little, after i requested that they be dimmed a little. The candles on our tables no longer served a purpose anymore as it was bright enough in there to perform surgery, and it just killed the romantic, fine dining vibe of the place and ruined our date night. We left after appetizers and salads. Please don't do that again. That was not smart. read more

It was the worst fine dining experience we've had in 10 years. And for a special eve no less. I had made news of the reservation well in advance and called to confirm w/ details, too. Despite the good steak and great service from Dan and the hostess, other kitchen items were horrible. Dressing tart, bearnaise sauce poor flavor, and cold (twice). And mashed potatoes were not properly prepared and these were cold too. Plus overly loud live music from the lobby bar flowed into the restaurant. Management appreciated the f/b and offered to comp dessert but it was too little and too late. P.S.: Word at the hotel is 'they are waiting to advertise until they get a big-name chef in'. The problem now is way too risky to try again until something changes. read more
